This place was highly recommended from a friend. I was fortunate to visit on a weekday afternoon so snagged the 7" cheese pan (deep dish) caramelised crust as a lunch special at $7.95, which was great value. Toppings wise, there isn't much if you don't eat pork and beef. Having said that, I enjoyed the plain cheese pizza I had and the BBQ wings. Their pan pizza is like the love child of Chicago Deep Dish and Detroit Pizza (because of the caramelised crust). It's good, but not the best deep dish I've had in Chicago.

Deep dish is not my go-to pizza, but being in the heart of Chicago, I had to try authentic deep dish pizza. Pequod’s is a reputable deep dish and known for their caramelized crust. It did not disappoint! The pizzas come in different sizes and you can choose your own toppings. We went with the pepperoni, sausage, bell pepper, and onion. The crust was clearly the highlight, the middle fluffy and not too doughy, not too much sauce, and the broiled crunch of the sausage made for the perfect texture of this pizza. This Pequod’s is the original location and we arrived on a Friday around 3:00 PM with no wait time. There were just a few other patrons during our visit. I took off one star because the place seemed a little dingy, grimy, and unclean. The bathrooms are dated and kind of ewww. The employee taking orders and bussing food wasn’t pleasant but not necessarily unfriendly.

Very disappointing experience with this establishment. There's no one to greet you. Waiters and waitresses are confused. You wait 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge you which they never do. You have to ask someone to be seated. Secondly, you order your food. It takes at least 45 minutes for the deep dish. This really isn't what I considered pizza. What it is is bread with sauce and very little cheese. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. I will not be going back to this establishment.

Mad a reservation, got seated a little after our scheduled time. Ordered a medium sausage pepperoni pan pizza with cheesy garlic bread. Was a little disappointed when the garlic bread came out just before the pizza. Food was good! Loved the caramelized crust! A MUST GET!!! We came at 1:45 had plenty of parking.

Came in here with a ton of hype and high expectations and it managed to live up to it. The pizza was everything I had hoped for, and I think it is superior to the more traditional deep dish you find at the touristy spots in Chicago. It’s a no-frills dining experience, but the old school tavern feel adds to it. It is very small and very busy so definitely make a reservation if you can.

Locals know this is THE spot for Chicago deep dish. The flavorful sauce, frico crispy cheese crust, depth of ingredient flavor, and flaky dough combine to the most perfect pizza you’ll ever have. Just try it and you’ll see that the hype is real. Make a reservation as it gets busy in evenings. Also can try half dough & light cheese if you want to go easy on your gut :)!

Classic Chicago-style pizza with caramelized crust. Always crowded, book early. Friendly service. Small place. Big delicious taste.

One of the Founding Fathers of deep dish pizza in Chicago. Their caramelized crust cannot be touched. House Italian & ranch are the dressings for the Pequod’s salad. In Morton Grove, pick up is easy and convenient in the alley. The $7.95 lunch special cannot be touched. When dining in there is wood paneling for days. Highly recommended.

Great pizza if you want a deep dish style pizza. It might convert a few people but most likely if you like deep dish you will enjoy or love it and if you don't you won't. Service was great. Pizza was delicious. Great ingredients, cooked well and served right out of the oven.
