The Chicago River is a major waterway that runs through downtown Chicago linking up with Lake Michigan. During our recent visit to the city we spent quite a bit of time along the river, walking the designated Riverwalk and crossing several of the bridge crossings to Streeterville on the north side of the Chicago River. The riverwalk is rather nice. There are some interesting monuments to see and they were setting up bars and coffee shops for this coming summer. Plenty of spots to grab a seat somewhere and enjoy being on the river during good weather days. You can also take boat cruises up and down the river as well. Chicago Skyline views can be enjoyed from along the river trail or while cruising the waterway. Plenty of access points down to the riverwalk area from beside the bridge crossings.

Whenever I’m visiting Chicago either on business of pleasure, I always make a point to walk along the river especially when the weather is nice. Beautiful view with restaurants along the river. Last year I was very lucky enough to witness the St. Patrick’s Day celebration.

The views are fantastic both day and night! Chicago architecture is so interesting and beautiful, and there are a lot of really unique and interesting-looking buildings along the river. To be honest the water looks pretty dirty but the stunning skyline grabs and keeps your attention! All tourists in Chicago should make sure to take the architecture river boat tour!

Beautiful river right in the heart of downtown. Great scenic walk to enjoy the beautiful architectures of Chicago skylines, with some spunky bars and restaurants by the river. During St Patrick's Day, the the river turns bright pink and this is a real special sight. Do try to see this for herself and grab some selfies here.

So much fun to do on and out near the Chicago River. A lot of history and improvement from the city in making the river what it is today. The Shoreline River boat tour was very informative and took us all around many parts of the river. Also, the Riverwalk has dinner, entertainment, etc. for everyone to enjoy!

Visiting Chicago? Riverwalk is the attraction you mustn’t miss! The vibe on the river walk is class apart. Great restaurants in the surrounding area. Winery and bars on the river. You can also do the famous Chicago Architecture Cruise, rent a yatch, kayak or just jump and swim (i am kidding, no swimming allowed!😜) The river is dyed green in March on St. Patricks day.

What a view, what an architecture. You will be amazed with its beauty. River area is incredible. You wont regret just sitting there and watching skyline view along side the river for hours. Parking is expensive. Plan for parking and take public transportation. Or walking also an option as you can explore more. Shoreline architecture tour is highly recommended.

Amazing views of the skyline and architecture all along. There is paid street parking around but its 7$ an hour. You can also use the parking garages. The best way to enjoy is to do the architectural tour. There are also options to kayak on the river. Also plenty of places to shop and eat. You can also take the riverwalk but its mostly closed during winter for everyones safety.

Chicago river walk offer a very beautiful view of the city skyscrapers and the various old buildings. Also you can watch the bridges across the river with the different architectural styles depending on the construction dates. A lot of river cruises operate on the Chicago river.

One of Chicago's best known and most frequently visited landmarks. The city dyes sections of the river green for St. Patrick's Day. For some reason I have my doubts that the dye is environmentally friendly. It does provide a unique sight however.

Absolutely gorgeous views of the downtown Chicago skyline from the water. The river water itself is beyond disgusting. It smells like a sewer. Its very busy with boat traffic but still alot of fun and quite a workout to kayak
