We literally stumbled across this museum walking around looking at old homes. Fantastic home with some outstanding history, articles and artifacts from all over town! The host was super nice and made sure we saw everything. He even stayed open a few minutes late to let us finish out visit.

Great little local history museum for the Glenwood Springs area. We got to see Baby Doe Tabors bedroom set, a saddle President Teddy Roosevelt once rode, and many other objects from the area. Back when the wild west was just another day in the life. The staff members we meet were extremely friendly, inviting and very knowledgeable. The museum is in a small house that's been around since the early 1900's. The tours are self guided so you don't have to feel rushed to read everything. A great way to spend some time learning about a time that you only see in the movies. Speaking of movies, there was a rather popular movie filmed in the area. The gift shop sells copies of it. Stop by an check it out. I would recommend this little museum to anyone passing through the area.

I feel like this museum sums up the entire experience of spending the night in Glenwood: all hype. If your entire claim to fame is Doc Holliday and how you have a collection of his personal items and I then pay the price of admission to see that collection only to be told the rest of the museum is open but the Doc Holliday section is closed....that's so shady!! No, I don't recommend the visit. Yes, the other part of the collection is interesting (hence the 2 stars) but I went to this museum for Doc Holliday. I feel ripped off.

Very friendly staff, beautiful exposition showing a household from the last century! (Late 19th century as well) Do not skip this place! :) Tickets were 5$ pp, definitely worth it!

As a history buff, this friendly staffed museum tucked into an old house donated to the society really is one of the better museums of its size I have seen. It is packed with a lot of displays and local history as well as period history overall. Interesting ties between Glenwood Springs and Leadville, but I will let you discover that. A great historical addition of knowledge to your brain if you like things such as this, as I do. Take the time to walk through and see what you learn.

Cosy in-home museum with a none the less impressive collection of 1800 and early 1900s artifacts and displays. Friendly informative staff who are happy to answer questions. Note limited opening times but this isn't a huge issue as the museum can be visited comfortably in an hour.

Nice little museum with friendly staff. Reasonably priced and many artifacts to look at. I really enjoyed how each room of the house was set up, makes you feel like you’re looking back in time. Cool place to visit if you happen to be in Glenwood.

Really enjoyed our visit to this local history museum! Many communities can put together a collection of donated historical items. But here, these items have been placed in a great Victorian home that had been a local doctors' residence and office. Excellent staff who were very knowledgeable. Only $4 entry for seniors.

Wonderful little museum with friendly staff. We got to see all kinds of interesting historical items from this area's pass 150 years. They also had a neat scavenger hunt for the kids.

Over 500 thousand artifacts! Most are setup in period store fronts. Very cool.

We liked it. Of course much of it is just "anything old" but there's plenty of local history in here too.

Small museum of the local neighborhood. Amazing amount of artifacts for such a small place. Well worth an hour or two.

I recommend this museum to anyone who is visiting or lives in GWS. No matter how often I go there, I always learn something new. If you're a fan of history and the west, you will definitely enjoy your time there. The staff and volunteers are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. If you visit near Halloween, inquire about tickets to the Ghost Walk. They sell out fast so timing is key.
