The location is great, but I am very disappointed in what I received for $90 a night. Site #312 was far from level, with gravel and weeds. No pool. The clubhouse/bar was closed, no cable, extra charge for wifi. This place has literally gone downhill since most of the positive reviews are from when they were fully operational. I think a more reasonable price point for these sites is $50 to $60 tops. They are charging full freight but delivering far less than they used to. You just don't get much for what you pay at this "resort" in name only because I don't get what makes this place a "resort". I'm not a cheapskate by any stretch of the imagination. I like to receive a good value for what I pay. I've paid more per night to stay at a true resort and felt I got a good value Not here. At least the Verizon signal was strong enough to get online and stream. Defiance Rafting Co. is on the premises and very convenient if you choose to take a rafting trip which I highly recommend. There is also a great bike trail nearby.

We booked during the off season this April and had a wonderful experience. The resort is in a perfect location, just a short drive to Glenwood Springs. It is very reasonably priced for condo type accomodations. The hosts were very friendly, but they allowed us to enjoy our stay without interruption. The cabin was perfect for our family of five. It would be super fun during the summer when most attractions are open. There were a couple of things that needed repair. When we let the host know, he was very kind and gave us a free t-shirt for our trouble. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a great mountain experience.

Stayed there with a motor home and mountain bikes. Awesome place to start for trail riding along the Colorado river. They set us up for rafting and there was a bar and lots of places to sit and relax after a day of biking and hiking. Exit No Name, want to get back there soon.

Apologies, I'm a little late writing this review but never the less this is a fantastic place to stay. We stayed here in July 2020 on our family road trip. The park was very nice. The staff was super friendly. The sites were large and spaced out nice. The bathrooms were kept clean. They had plenty to offer including a zip line across the river. They are also the home for Defiance Rafting (you need to do this, it is awesome). Taking a chain down to sit on the shore of the river and taking in the views was such a relaxing time. They had a three night minimum which we thought was a little excessive (thought 2 days would be enough, we were wrong). In the long run I wish we could have stayed longer. Being so close to town and the different attractions really made the location of the park that much better. Listening to the train rumble through the canyon was another plus. Only thing that could be an issue is the sewer drain hook-up is towards the from of the site. Needed 3 hoses connected together. This place will be added to our never ending places to stay. We were not disappointed and you will not be either. Check them out! We can't wait to return.

We really enjoyed staying here. The location has beautiful views of the canyon, there is a great swimming spot in the river that has a nice little sand area for kids to play at the edge of the water. The proximity to town is awesome. The bathroom facilities were very clean. The staff was very friendly. Apparently there were some amenities that were closed, but we didn't know it until the end and honestly we were so busy with things in town we didn't even notice. The sites are close together for sure, but it's an RV park so we didn't expect for them to have a lot of space like a state park. There is a train that runs across from the river so if you're camping on the river you will want to take that in to consideration. We didn't have any issues with it being in an RV. We would definitely stay here again.

We booked a family reunion here a couple years ago but due to Covid we had to postpone until this year. I had a very hard time getting a reservation set with them until I actually stopped there to book it although I still had to talk to someone on a cell phone. When we got the final pre-bill to our credit card we noticed an extra night was charged. We left multiple voice mails and they never returned our calls. When we arrived we told them once again they had overcharged us for our stay. They told us they didn't offer refunds on cancellations. We explained we had left multiple messages(which I had proof of) to get this fixed and they never returned our call. The manager came out banged on a keyboard for a few minutes and said There your not staying the extra night anymore. Of course they didn't give us a credit for what they had already charged me for! I left two more messages with no response. On top of that the area for eating meals was closed the whole time we where there and if you asked different people why you got different answers. The sad part is the park is beautiful with amazing cabins and a white water rafting place on site that was awesome (Defiance Rafting) but the staff and management of the facility have no customer service skills.

This is our second time camping alongside the river at Glenwood Canyon Resort. Nothing like it. You get the beauty of nature but the facilities to keep your stay comfortable. We like to camp on sites 25 - 30. They are right along the water tent camping sites. We use a rooftop tent and these are perfect. The stairs to the bathroom are right behind you as well as water to fill up anything you need for your trip. One of my favorite things is when the trains pass by. It's beautiful and if you catch the conductor, he will toot the horn for you. The staff is amazing. Kevin has been there each time we camp. He's always ensured we're in the right spot for our set-up. A bonus: You're so close to Glenwood Springs. Restaurants, hot springs & shopping. We LOVE passing through and will continue to do so whenever we're in the area

We had a family reunion here, and between all of our families, almost every type of accommodation was utilized. It was easy to walk anywhere on the property as it is seemingly quite big, but also quite accessible. Our cabin was clean and comfortable. And, the staff at GCR is friendly and helpful. They were great communicators and helped ensure we had spaces for our large gathering. Thanks so much. We will look forward to a return visit.

We really enjoyed our stay here with our big fifth wheel. The sites are very nice with lots of shade. There was plenty of room to back our 44’ toy hauler into our spot (which is rare). Lots of restaurants within a 10 minute drive and the river floats right by the campground. We will definitely come back.

Highly recommend it! Had our family reunion here. Everyone had a choice from the multiple options of cabins, camp sites, etc., for their own preferred level of comfort. Kevin was so accessible and friendly. It's so nicely located, yet you don't really feel like you're right off the interstate. My personal fave was the camper cabin by the river. The view is stunning! The cabin clean and comfortable (air conditioned!). We had just a perfect time.

What a great camping spot! My wife and I came here recently with our RV camper and had a great experience! We stayed right on the river and it was so peaceful and relaxing. We had water and electric hookups at our site and that was all we needed for the three days we were there. The facilities were clean and well kept and the staff were always friendly and helpful with whatever we needed. If you like rafting, there is a rafting company right on site and they seemed to be staying busy. While we were there we got hungry for pizza and went into town at Glenwood Springs for some takeout, which was perfect. Nice to be away, but still have some good food options close by. I would say this is one of our favorite camping locations so far and we plan to be back!

I highly recommend the resort. The views from river is breathtaking. The facilities were very clean. We rented the affordable cabin that are located at entrance of resort. You do here notices from cars and trailers coming and going. There are no electrical plugs inside these cabins so you cannot charge your phones. The beds have a foam on top that is very thin, it will feel like sleeping on floor, so bring a thick pad or air mattress for comfort. Lastly in the summer those cabins retain heat and are unfortunately hot until 3 am. Remember no plugs so make sure you bring your own power juice for a fan. Other than that, my daughter and I had a wonderful time. I would definitely stay here again in the future. Everyone who works there are very kind and helpful.

For $127 plus tax a night for a river front site with electric and water hookups. This is the most expensive site we have ever stayed at. I was expecting more. The river site was extremely small. It stated 30ft or under and we have an 18 ft trailer so we thought we’d have a nice Size space but they put you in a spot based on the size of your trailer so you could see all the smaller trailers together toward the left end. I wouldn’t have booked if I knew how small our site would be. I don’t mind paying extra. I feel like the website was a little deceiving on size. We even went to the front and asked if there was anything else available to switch even off the river and they said no. We saw 4 spots around us that never filled but who knows if there was other logistics going on I was unaware of. All the trailers on the river were very close and felt very much like packed sardines. It took away from the enjoyment of camping as we could hear our neighbors every word and movement and one neighbor kept walking through our campground. There were no activities at this camp resort and I read on the website “ Join us nightly for scheduled activities during the summer months including karaoke and a variety of other events.” One last thing, it came as a shock to us at 1:00 and 4:00am a giant train came through and woke everyone up every night! I did miss the memo about no tables on the river but they did state it on their website. “Please be aware that due to the limited space in these sites, we are no longer providing picnic tables.” That’s how small the spaces are! It’s in a great location and easy access to Glenwood Springs and all that has to offer. Bathrooms and showers clean. We did raft with defiance rafting on property and they were amazing and we had a great rafting trip. Super convenient. We made the best of it but ended up leaving a day early…walking away from $115 (no refunds) because it just wasn’t enjoyable to be there.

Absolutely gorgeous views and beautiful property. You can tell it’s really cared for. Booked the main suites for a group event and it was beyond our expectations. I stayed in the 2 bedroom suite’s master bedroom and it was so spacious and comfortable. The manager was so nice too! Great location. It was hard to leave! I will definitely be going back!

Amazing staff! Clean bathrooms and cabins! Best fishing spot by the river! This is a must stay for families as well as couples and singles! Our family has been there twice this summer and we always leave wishing we had one more night! Then we plan our next visit! Thank you Glenwood Canyon Resort for all the amazing memories

This is one of the coolest spots on the Colorado River to camp. Beautiful to see and close to Glennwood Springs. It has everything to include immaculately maintained campgrounds. Kevin and his staff are incredible &, knowledgeable people I so appreciate what they did for me My 2750 mile journey here was so worth it!

Recently we booked our family event for 120+ people at the Glenwood Canyon Resort. Due to unforeseen circumstances (an accident closing I 70), we were unable to hold our event at Glenwood Canyon Resort, so I have split the review into two parts; 1 for the resort and the second part for our event coordinator. Resort: 3 stars When we checked in with the resort in March they were in the process of remodeling. We were the first event that the Glenwood Canyon Resort had booked but were assured that the space we were interested in would be fully prepared and ready by mid-June. On the date of our event, some requested items were still not available. The liquor license had not been obtained, and the television sets that were promised were not yet installed. When some guests, planning to stay at the resort, tried to contact the registration desk by phone before arrival there was no one answering the phones. Having said that, we were not able to get to our event space due to an accident that occurred in the Glenwood Canyon which shut the interstate for many hours. As we did not end up being able to access the space, I cannot comment much about the space itself or how it would have been for our event. I visited the event center prior to our chosen date and the event coordinator had done a good job with the outside decorating, including adding deck shades since the deck gets afternoon sun. The deck overlooks the river and is a short but steep walk to the river. The resort offers cabins and camp spots, which makes it easier for out-of-town guests to attend. Resort Summary: The Glenwood Canyon Resort has recently undergone reconstruction. They were not completely ready for our event in early/mid July: They did not have a liquor license yet, and they did not have the TVS set up to display pictures. The interior portion of the center was still being finished at the date of our event. Be aware that there is only one way to access the resort (I-70), which frequently shuts down due to weather or accidents. Event Coordinator- Katie Scribner 5-stars Katie was fantastic to work with. She was endlessly enthusiastic even when our number of guests grew, and when unexpected roadblocks arose (such as the TVs not being installed, no liquor license, and I-70 closing 2 hours before our event). As mentioned above, we had to change the event location at the last minute and she was extremely flexible and brought the chairs, tables, sound system, and beverages we had ordered. Katie and her crew set everything up in record time at our new venue. She was very caring and wanted to ensure our event went smoothly. She scheduled check-ins prior to and throughout the event. The one area for growth would be to reach out more consistently (outside of our two scheduled check-ins) prior to the event and acknowledge receipt of texts/emails. She always responded; however, at some points, it would be after a couple of attempts to contact her. I later learned she was working to find the answers to my questions, but I was unsure if she had gotten my emails/texts. Katie Summary: Overall, she was professional, enthusiastic, flexible, and a pleasure to work with.

My husband and I are doing a cross country trip from Maryland. We are in route back home and stumbled upon this campground. We spent two nights here and enjoyed every minute of the campground and it’s beautiful scenery. Kevin gave us some wonderful recommendations of activities and dining around town. We had the best time. This is by far one of the nicest places we’ve stayed since being on the road for 20 days.

We stayed for two nights in mid-Sept in the Glamping tents. The tent was nice with a king sized bed, couch and table, canvas sides on a platform - no bathroom, kitchen, and worst of all, no heat. There was a “heater” in the tent but you could only feel heat if you stood 2-3” from it. The night time temps were near 40 degrees and we were freezing from 3am to 8am. All they could offer us was additional blankets. If I had known this, I would have brought my temperature rated sleeping bag and stayed at a cheaper tent site. The tent was advertised as “steps away” from the bathroom facility but it was about 200 steps over rocks and steps. There were lights but I wouldn’t say it was well lit. Bring a flashlight. There’s also a train that comes through the canyon and can be quite loud but it didn’t bother us too much. The people by the river probably had the worst of the noise. There is highway noise too but again, not too bad. The canyon itself is lovely and the bike path is very close by. If I come back, I’ll stay in one of the cabins with heat, AC, bathroom and a kitchen. They are expensive but nice.

We have been to many resorts and this one tops them all, it is so beautiful, from the amazing views and all the great things to do in the resort and the surrounding areas. Kevin Peterson runs the resort and is the greatest person to work with, from getting you an RV spot or one of the many great cabins in the resort. He will make sure all your needs are met for a great stay. When you leave you will feel like you have known him your whole life. So if you are thinking of booking your stay, do wait you will love it!

Right outside of Glenwood Springs, this resort offers a nice atmosphere with fairly comfortable accommodations. The prices are reasonable as well. My only complaints would be that the passcode lock on the women's side of the shower facilities was missing and that the room we stayed in could've used a few more blankets in stock.

I've been here twice now - once for a corporate retreat, and once to celebrate my 40th birthday with friends! We went white water rafting, hiking, visited the hot springs, went to an amusement park on top of a mountain with rides that dangle you out over a 1000 foot drop, and we enjoyed fine dining in town, which is only 5 minutes drive away! My visit exceeded my expectations and I'm going back in a few months with more family members! They just recently remodeled all their cabins and suites, so I'm excited to see the updates!

The location and river is lovely. Aside from that there’s a lot to be desired. It is a crowded place. Tent sites were too close to each other which also made cars driving by too close for comfort. It would have been nice to have been told a train passes by at 3am (and other times during the day). I about had a heart attack when I heard it and didn’t know what tf it was. No quiet hours posted and other guests partied way into the night. I prefer a more secluded campsite with less noise and kids and dogs barking but was lured to this place for the proximity of the tent site to the river which is absolutely lovely to hear through the night but I would not pick this place again. Plus compared to a regular tent campsite it’s pricey.

This is the second time we've RV'd here and I'd come back here and stay again. Located right on the Colorado River in a majestic canyon setting, it's beautiful! The RV spots are back-in but the road is nice and wide to make adequate turning for backing in. We have a 41', for reference, and my husband was very comfortable with the area he had for maneuvering. There's a restaurant you can walk to and river rafting on site, as well. We did the Glenwood Springs Hot Springs and I would say it was about a 10 minute drive from the RV park. This is a beautiful area!

I have been camping there for, let's just say, a lot of years, and loved it every time. This last time, still enjoyed being there, but for $300 (3 nights), someone could have answered the call for toilet paper. It's a simple request that took over 12 hours to respond to. I'll be back (because I love it there), but PLEASE have toilet paper.

My girlfriend and I stayed in the cottages. They were so cute, very clean and comfortable. The bed was great quality as well which was nice for a relaxing weekend visiting so many hot springs. The location is really great with easy access to the highway and just down the road from all of Glenwood Springs activities. There is a small kitchen area but there is no stove. They did provide brochures of places nearby to eat.

We found this place by chance and it is probably one of my favorite places in CO. The place is keep incredibly clean. The bike trail along the water can take you directly to town is beautiful. There is a river rafting place right on site. The quaint little town is super close. There are so many options to choose from. You can RV camp, tent camp by the water, you can rent cabins or glam camp. Again, this is one of my favorite places!

We just brought 65 singles to the Glenwood Canyon Resort for a fun camping vacation. It was awesome. Everyone raved about how beautiful the resort was and how much fun they had! The staff was great and very responsive. Thanks to Kevin, their manager for the hard work! Cheers! ~ Kara from IN THE LOOP SINGLES.

We just returned from a 4-night stay at the Glenwood Canyon Resort where we rented one of their two family cabins. The family cabin very comfortably accommodated our family of 5. We especially liked that the master bedroom has its own bathroom and is a nice distance away from the 2 kids' bedrooms and bathroom. The property is well maintained and in a beautiful location. The kids had a blast exploring the grounds and skipping rocks off the Colorado river, which runs adjacent to the resort. The property manager, Kevin, is exceptional. We were traveling to Glenwood Springs from Fort Collins and he called us while we were making the trip over to let us know that we need not rush and that if we arrived after the 4p.m. check-in time, he would make arrangements for us to get our cabin key. That really took the pressure off our drive. We highly recommend the Glenwood Canyon Resort when visiting the Glenwood Springs area. You can't beat the location, the value and the service.

I made the reservation by phone, and they made the extra effort to find me a spot even for the busiest of weekends. Once I arrived, they again worked to put me in the best spot available, which happened to be in the new Sprinter Village (because my RV is a Sprinter). The Sprinter Village is a fantastic area right on the river with slightly smaller spots but a sense of community. The employees were very helpful throughout my stay and even helped me spot some wildlife for photos.

This place is seriously one of the best places I have ever stayed. It was so clean and quiet. There was plenty to do and it was nice being close to town. The views are amazing. The staff was amazing when checking in and out. They had our cottage all ready for us air and all! I definitely will be recommending this place and also will be going back in the future.

Loved this cozy cabin for our vacation stay. We went during off peak time and it was secluded and quiet with great views and easy 2-minute access to the town of Glenwood Springs. Can't wait to come back in the summer time and get on the river!
