The
Lost
Cabin
room
was
an
eclectic
and
interesting
experience
to
add
to
our
growing
list
of
escape
adventures.
What
independent
locations
lack
in
polish,
they
make
up
for
in
unique
and
fresh
mechanics
or
perspectives.
Ella
was
a
bright,
cheery,
and
helpful
game
master
who
enhanced
our
overall
experience;
while
she
suggested
we
were
an
easy
group
to
work
with
(few
hints),
she
was
essential
in
clarifying
the
more
challenging
aspects
of
the
room.
With
the
caveat
that
we’re
not
from
this
area,
we
thought
the
room
rate
was
a
little
high,
especially
compared
to
mainstream
chain
locations
(which
you’d
think
would
be
the
most
expensive);
perhaps
it’s
a
regional
difference
and
not
really
detrimental
to
the
experience.
Specific
to
the
room,
it
was
a
balanced
and
manageable
flow,
with
only
two
specific
mechanisms
that
I
considered
overly
complex
or
confusing
(that
is,
they
didn’t
make
natural
sense).
The
first
I
would
probably
call
more
a
matter
of
creativity
or
ingenuity
on
behalf
of
the
guest
(you
have
to
think
outside
the
box).
Whereas
the
second
I
would
consider
altogether
impossible,
and
I
imagine
over
90%
of
groups
require
the
solution
to
move
forward.
A
final
critique
is
to
all
independent
escape
rooms:
lock/puzzle
association;
often,
there
are
half
a
dozen
four-digit
number
locks,
and
you
spend
time
randomly
punching
codes
everywhere
with
no
payoff
when
a
lock
finally
opens.
With
mild
creativity,
associate
the
code
with
the
lock
(or
the
solution
to
the
puzzle).
Whether
you
color
code,
provide
a
corresponding
icon,
or
similar,
make
it
more
unified
and
less
random
so
the
guest
can
feel
more
driven
and
confident
with
their
solutions.
Otherwise,
you
feel
like
it’s
just
a
bargain
bin
of
puzzles
and
locks
with
no
overall
connection,
story,
etc.
Bottom
line:
I
enjoyed
the
room
and
really
would
have
liked
to
experience
more
at
their
location
(which
is
high
enough
praise,
I
hope!).
Great
job,
