π
top
notch
lake
-
the
brilliant
thing
about
the
lake
is
the
wetness.
Lakes
are
rarely
dry,
and
this
one,
true
to
form
is
as
wet
as
possible.
If
you
tried
to
make
this
lake
wetter
you'd
fail.
It's
one
hundred
per
cent
wet.
If
you
were
in
an
otters
pocket
you'd
still
not
be
as
wet
as
this
lake.
The
other
thing
that's
great
about
lakes
is
the
dry
things
around
them
and
this
lake
is
flanked
almost
exclusively
by
dry
things.
Villages
are
plentiful
as
you
trek
around
the
lake
and
many
of
them
are
quite
dry.
Advanced
submersible
vehicles
will
not
be
needed
in
these
villages
-
no
way,
they're
dry
land
accessible
vehicle
approved!
The
road
around
the
lake
is
a
thrilling
mix
of
fast
main
road
and
singletrack
macadam.
The
split
is
roughly
fifty
per
cent
both
ways
and
is
fantastic
in
both
directions.
When
driving
clockwise
the
lake
will
appear
on
the
right
of
the
car,
but
the
views
can
be
equally
good
from
the
left
hand
side
when
travelling
in
the
anti
clockwise
direction
-
try
both
and
see
which
one
you
prefer!
Either
way
you'll
get
to
Bala
at
some
point
which
offers
more
in
depth
information
about
the
lake
and
the
activities
that
can
be
enjoyed
in
the
wet
part
and
on
the
surrounding
dry
areas!
