Beautiful lake, well signed and easy to get to. Parking is free for disabled and Β£3 for 4 hrs. I wouldn't say it's wheelchair friendly though! More walking stick friendly. There is construction going on to the far side at the moment so walking is limited in that section. If your paddle boarding or boating there's lessons and equipment hire available. It was very busy when we arrived, around midday, so we went out the entrance turned left and walked along until we came to the first lay by, if you go over the lay by you'll see steps descending to where you can walk next to the lake or even pitch up in a quiet little bay there which we saw a couple of families doing. There is a sign up warning about green algae on the water here! We had our dogs with us but kept them away from the water and had fresh bottles of water and a travel bowl for them. The walk takes you though a wooded area up onto a walkway that leads to steps ascending to another lay by, we chose to walk back on the wide path as it was a hot day and I didn't want the dogs out overheating, but on another occasion we would like to carry on the walk. I think it took us around 1 and a half hrs to do the walk. When we got back to the car park many people had left so we found a shaded spot for the dogs and had a picnic while enjoying the picturesque setting.

A494 52Β°54'22.8"N 3Β°36'23.5"W Bala Lake or Llyn Tegid is just stunning. The colour of the water and the reflections for a photographer are incredible. You can swim and boat on this lake too. There are also watersports if you fancy. It is a peaceful lake with good access by car. It is has quite a good size car park with good toilets. However get there early as it does get busy. You do have to pay for parking but the upkeep of the area is beautiful so I do not mind at all. You can drive around the whole lake around a small lane at the top. Views across the lake and Snowdonia mountains. You have to visit here if just to see it. My photos are from different times of day and seasons as I just love coming here.

πŸ‘Œ top notch lake - the brilliant thing about the lake is the wetness. Lakes are rarely dry, and this one, true to form is as wet as possible. If you tried to make this lake wetter you'd fail. It's one hundred per cent wet. If you were in an otters pocket you'd still not be as wet as this lake. The other thing that's great about lakes is the dry things around them and this lake is flanked almost exclusively by dry things. Villages are plentiful as you trek around the lake and many of them are quite dry. Advanced submersible vehicles will not be needed in these villages - no way, they're dry land accessible vehicle approved! The road around the lake is a thrilling mix of fast main road and singletrack macadam. The split is roughly fifty per cent both ways and is fantastic in both directions. When driving clockwise the lake will appear on the right of the car, but the views can be equally good from the left hand side when travelling in the anti clockwise direction - try both and see which one you prefer! Either way you'll get to Bala at some point which offers more in depth information about the lake and the activities that can be enjoyed in the wet part and on the surrounding dry areas! πŸ‘Œ

Bala Lake is the next best experience to being by the sea. The atmosphere is great with lots of paddle board participants and canoes on the water. Great for paddling and cooling down with shallow access into the water. Brilliant place for a picnic and lovely walks. The restaurant is excellent, serving hot and cold food up until 1400. There is a steam train by the lakeside which is great for narrow guage rail enthusiasts.

I went to Bala for a week whilst working with a local farmer, and I have to say the lake is astounding! Lovely place to sit and relax with the calm lake and the mountains in the background, there’s clearly signposted walking paths around the edge of the lake, and I highly recommend even just going for a leisurely drive around it as well. During sunny days there’s virtually always an ice cream van in the car park.

Bala Lake is a beautiful place has free parking around lake. Great for swimming and walking with the family or kids. Has a train you can catch too and a cafe by the sailing club. You can walk to the high street or park in the town centre and walk to the lake. Also across the road there is a super river walk too.

View is nice, lovely place, specially when you on the way. But about lake, specially swimming is not good, you should have special shoes, otherwise its to painful for walking barefoot, evening time have lot of small flys and they bite you. My all face are red and scrunching. But anyway is wild nature. For bbq is nice place, you can enjoying anyway. But im not sure if im going in there again.

One of the most tranquil places on earth. The lake is beautifully clean and abundant with fish. Sailing here is a must or even just kicking back absorbing the serenity and nature of Y Bala. Definity the 'scouse caribean'.

Stunning spot for Kayaking, paddleboarding. Head to main car park or around the edges for smaller car parks and spots to get on the water. Amazing in summer with a really nice atmosphere.

Parked in the foreshore car park before 2 hours of paddle boarding. Ticket machines do take cards, and there is a cash ticket machine up by the toilets and changing rooms also. Beautiful spot in a lovely area, and once on the water we didn't notice the nearby road at all! A little windy out in the middle, and would strongly recommend anyone venturing out onto the water to heed the signage and wear suitable flotation aids.

Wonderful lake with stunning surrounding scenery. The road goes all the way around the lake and has numerous parking spots. One side of the lake has a little railway running along the length of it. The town has plenty of places to find food, etc. It looks like it is a popular lake for sailing. A good place for photography.

Largest natural lake in Wales and softer looking than the rugged lakes of northern Snowdonia. Rolling green surroundings but with good mountain views of the Arans at the Southern end. Only home on earth to the Gwyniad fish since the last ice age. However, not seen Teggie the lake monster yet.

A pretty view. Gets extremely busy in summer. On a bleak winters day it's deserted, but you still have to pay for parking, so I didn't leave the car!

Boss place! Really enjoyed the afternoon with family! Lovely people around & the only thing I would love visitors follow is look after our nature & environment! Don't through rubbish & don't setup ur fire/BBQ on the ground as this will destroy the place which will result of losing what we got left! Please treat it like home! God Bless All & Stay Safe πŸ™β€πŸŒΉ

Beautiful lake, otherwise known (to us English) as Bala Lake. Set in Beautiful area with scenic panorama. Nice town of Bala on the shore is worth a visit.

Lovely venue. Fantastic views and great little town. Only draw back was the warden of the lake. He obviously got out of bed the wrong way. Quite rude and extremely unhelpful. It would be a 5 star if not for his attitude.
