While
a
very
nice
and
well-appointed
hotel,
the
lack
of
functional
heating
on
a
cold
November
night
was
disappointing.
While
working
in
the
area
for
a
couple
of
days,
I
stayed
over
a
night
to
save
a
long
drive
and
return
journey
the
next
day.
I
checked
in
around
5
p.m.,
dropped
my
bags
off,
and
went
straight
back
out
to
work,
returning
around
7.30pm.
I
noticed
straight
away
the
room
was
chilly
and
the
heating
was
not
on,
so
after
spending
a
little
time
trying
to
see
if
there
was
anything
needed
turned
on
or
up,
I
went
to
reception
to
report
it.
After
checking,
they
advised
that
the
day
staff
had
'forgot'
to
turn
it
on
for
my
room,
and
they
did
so
straight
away
and
advised
it
should
warm
up
in
15mins
or
so.
I
popped
out
for
a
bite
to
eat,
and
when
I
returned
about
30
mins
later,
the
heating
was
on,
and
the
room
was
warmer
and
much
more
comfortable.
When
I
woke
the
next
morning
around
8.30
am,
the
room
was
chilly
again,
and
there
was
no
heat
so
once
again
went
to
reception
this
time
to
be
advised
it
SHOULD
be
working
and
that
they'd
send
housekeeping
up
shortly
(housekeeping?
to
fix
heating?
-
OK,
whatever)
Housekeeping
arrived
perhaps
10
minutes
later
with
a
small
electric
blow
heater
(2
of
them,
1
to
carry
the
heater
and
the
other
to
check
the
radiator
was
on!),
and
I
quickly
plugged
it
in
and
jumped
onto
my
9am
online
meeting.
Caught
up
in
the
meeting,
I
didn't
check
the
'heater'
until
9.30ish
only
to
discover
it
was
blowing
cool
air,
the
thing
was
useless
and
there
was
no
heat
setting
on
it!
I
checked
out
as
normal
and
returned
the
'heater'
to
reception
and
told
them
about
the
whole
experience,
and
the
simple
response
was,
"Oh,
sorry.
"...that's
it!
While
I
wasn't
expecting
a
refund
or
anything,
some
sort
of
gesture
would
of
been
nice
considering
the
nightly
rate
they
charge
for
room
only!
