Location of this hotel is splendid. All staff were most pleasant and efficient. Breakfast selection was ample. Evening menu lacked choice. Our stay was fine, having said the above we were most disappointed with the bedroom. It was dull and not up to standard as far as cleanliness goes. The skirting boards were very dusty as was the window and sill. I was horrified to find excessive build up of dust and dirt at each side of the radiator...I'd assume many wouldn't find this a problem but I do. There were two stains on the under sheet of the bed also. Car parking was horrendous, the events in the hotel meant a shortage of parking. I do hope these matters are given your utmost attention. Excellent reviews are lovely to receive but honestly realises improvement.

As a completely honest review we were initially disappointed with the fact our room was not ready until 6.00pm. We however understand staffing problems occur and this did not takeaway anything from our overall experience of the hotel. In fact the matter was dealt with professionally and brilliantly by Amy. Over the complete weekend the hotel staff were lovely and so welcoming. Whilst unfair to single out individual people we think that we should say that the restaurant manager on both evenings, whose name we unfortunately didn't get was professional and really lovely. Charlotte in the bar area was a complete credit to the hotel and a lovely people person in every way. Samira who we met each night and each breakfast is we believe an asset to the hotel team, professional, hard working and so welcoming. Whilst we have singled out individual members of staff the entire weekend was lovely, food and surroundings excellent. Thank you for a wonderful weekend and one we will not forget or fail to let others know how good it was.

This hotel is stunning with beautiful views and while the room was reasonably clean it could have done with a real deep clean. I had to wash the handle and door frame on the inside of the room . It's a pity but it's still a great place to stay if you don't look to close at the surrounding of your room.

My favourite hotel out of our month of travels around the UK. The bed was so comfy. We would have stayed the entire time for our week in NI visiting family in Glenarm, but they were booked up for a wedding. We were able to book again for our last night and booked the room with the bathtub (as I enjoyed the tub in the first room so much). We ended up not getting a room with a tub, to the error of the person who set up the online booking descriptions. The staff was quick to make the saturation right. The only thing that could have made this better is if they had a hot tub outside in the beautiful garden.

This was the perfect place to celebrate our anniversary. The staff was so nice! Our room wasn't ready so we were upgraded to the Bridal suite overlooking the beautiful garden that was full of flowers at the end of September. We had a fabulous meal at the Garden Restaurant. The slow cooked beef was perfection!

Absolutely amazing! I am a resident near this hotel and stayed with some friends there. Its a gem on the coast of Antrim. Loved the walled garden and bar staff were so friendly! The rooms were gorgeous and the beach right beside it was wonderful. Had so much fun!!

Amazing location. Tidy rooms. Stated in website rooms might / might not have views neither bath. We had none :-( Small car park, lucky we found a space. If not, you can park at the Spar car park. 24 hours access to the tower area, well kept and you cannot sleep any more in the spooky room. Yummie buffet breakfast.

While a very nice and well-appointed hotel, the lack of functional heating on a cold November night was disappointing. While working in the area for a couple of days, I stayed over a night to save a long drive and return journey the next day. I checked in around 5 p.m., dropped my bags off, and went straight back out to work, returning around 7.30pm. I noticed straight away the room was chilly and the heating was not on, so after spending a little time trying to see if there was anything needed turned on or up, I went to reception to report it. After checking, they advised that the day staff had 'forgot' to turn it on for my room, and they did so straight away and advised it should warm up in 15mins or so. I popped out for a bite to eat, and when I returned about 30 mins later, the heating was on, and the room was warmer and much more comfortable. When I woke the next morning around 8.30 am, the room was chilly again, and there was no heat so once again went to reception this time to be advised it SHOULD be working and that they'd send housekeeping up shortly (housekeeping? to fix heating? - OK, whatever) Housekeeping arrived perhaps 10 minutes later with a small electric blow heater (2 of them, 1 to carry the heater and the other to check the radiator was on!), and I quickly plugged it in and jumped onto my 9am online meeting. Caught up in the meeting, I didn't check the 'heater' until 9.30ish only to discover it was blowing cool air, the thing was useless and there was no heat setting on it! I checked out as normal and returned the 'heater' to reception and told them about the whole experience, and the simple response was, "Oh, sorry. "...that's it! While I wasn't expecting a refund or anything, some sort of gesture would of been nice considering the nightly rate they charge for room only!

Cold Sunday November & called in, just for tea/coffee. Hotel entrance very warm & cosy. Got seated in lounge, overlooking the sea views. Tea/coffee order taken at bar by lovely barman. We couldn't fault anything at all. Toilets were exceptionally clean & granddaughter loved all the Game of Thrones references. Will be back, hopefully for an overnight stay!

Nice hotel. Morgan, at the front desk was a delight. Our shower was super weak, maybe to prevent spraying the bathroom since it has one of those stupid partial glass enclosures that european high end hotels seem to think are a good idea. Also, do not understand the luxury of rationing one tiny bottle of shower gel among two people with no hand soap. At least a pump at the sink would have been apreciated. The ocean view rooms should have a great view. However, our room should just be called a standard room instead of garden view. There was no garden, just a grey roof of the service building. Will most likely review the restaurant in more detail separately, but service did not match the menu or environment. (The server's assistant did make up for our server's lack). Prices, superficially seemed relatively good, but turns out that most dishes are just beautifully plated tiny portions.

Very friendly staff and the location is beautiful. Thank you to the really nice receptionist and her colleague Ciara for going above and beyond to cater to my birthday requests for my partner. We were also upgraded to sea view, which made the birthday experience even more special! Highly recommended and we will definitely visit again.

I attended a Wedding here last week. The food was amazing, very tasty and good portions but the best for me is how well the staff accommodated my food allergies. I’m allergic to milk, which normally means that there are so many things I just do without. However, I was served the same food as everyone else, with adjustments made, eg, my mashed potatoes were done with plant based spread instead of butter. I had cake and soya milk was provided for my tea. I didn’t lose out on anything and the staff really looked after me. The Wedding itself was fantastic and nothing was too much for the staff. A great location with great food and great service. Thank you!

Large and spacious modern room. Staff were great. Restaurant was pitch perfect in terms of offering and price. All very tasty. We chose it as an overnight stay, and now we're planning on going back for a longer stay. Two thumbs good 👍👍

We were really happy and impressed with the room, the bed was super comfy, and reception were amazing at getting my fiances pillows changed (she is allergic to feathers). The welcome received on the front desk was fantastic. I only gave 4 stars because of the breakfast. We booked a room only stay but changed our minds and paid £18 each for a breakfast which was very poor, I have paid less at a local greasy spoon for a breakfast that was far more superior. The scrambled eggs can only be described as military style powdered eggs, with the texture of wallpaper paste. The potato bread and soda bread were moist. I feel like the resident ghost had stolen the flavour and crispness out of all the food. My fiance, and I have stayed in many hotels all over Northern Ireland, and the Ballygally really was a let down purely based on the breakfast experience. Maybe a breakfast cooked to order would be more suitable. 🤔

My husband and I stayed here for our 1st wedding anniversary, and our stay was made special by the staff, especially Amy on reception who went above and beyond she is a credit to the team! The room was lovely, bed was so comfy we could have slept there for 24hrs, the food in the restaurant was amazing, the gardens were beautiful! We would definitely recommend staying here, the location is stunning with a lovely sea view and would love to return again!

Wonderful. We have already decided to stay again in the future. For longer this time. Breakfast was gorgeous. All staff were wonderful but especially the lady who checked us out. Was her name Trish? So helpful, friendly, meticulously kind and considerate. Thanks, Trish

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the castle. Beautiful accommodations and yummy dinner and breakfast. Love the bear Game of Thrones door and story into the dining area. Legend has it there is a ghost that haunts the old part of the castle...did not experience anything out of the ordinary. Loved their gardens on the property as well!

The room we booked was a little small for the price but it was comfortable and well appointed. The hotel is in a beautiful location and served well as a home base for site seeing. The restaurant food and service were good also.

Called in for a quick rest break while out for the day with friends and the Hubby. Gorgeous setting, views over the beach and sea and service was A*. Very interesting information throughout the reception area regarding the Game of Thrones filming locations and home to one of the Game of Thrones Doors. Didn't stay over this time but will definitely be making the effort to do so soon.

Restaurant is pretty good for lunch, but £4.20 for a 330ml bottle of Fanta? Will stick to the tap water next time! Four stars are for the beautiful gardens.
