A beautiful, quiet place to walk, picnic and let dogs roam. Previously a disused coal mining area, the locals have done a fantastic job in repurposing the space into something very pleasant and very practical. Because it is generally not so well known other than to locals and with the bike restriction, it is peaceful and encourages larks and other birds and wildlife. Walking through in a sunny day, one can listen to crickets, smell fresh air and see for miles. A simple pleasure.

Easy to walk , just slightly sloping . Trees , stream and plenty of grass . Free parking close by . Plenty of dog walkers go here , but sometimes it can be very quiet too . Don't forget your dog poo bags . You can have access in a wheel chair on a path for a great view.

Good for a gentle walk, keep dogs off the mount area spring and summer, because of nesting birds

Nice site as are the views at the top, wheelchair users can get up there but may need a strong pusher on some of it but its worth the effort. However I have recently been up there and there are cows on it and as you can guess its a case of dodging the droppings, there is also another set of gates to negotiate.

A sweet little hidden gem with meadows and woodland walks. The paths are nicely maintained and there are lots of beautiful plants to look at. Picnic benches are on the meadow a stone's throw from the free parking, and the area is closed with gates but nice and wide so perfect for little ones.

Pleasant walk with my dog. There is an area set aside to allow your dog to run free. Depending on what path you take you can also follow public footpaths out of the reserve.

First visit, was an interesting first walk meandering the different pathways paying better attention to the map at the beginning would have been useful. Wildlife, trees, some lively views across to Chirk.

It's a Great place, loads of different types of walks here. But the only thing that lets it down so much is the dog mess. No-one ever picks up after their dog it's everywhere. Which is such a shame as it's a very nice country park with fantastic walks and views.

Pleasant walk with a slight hill. The central path to the top is tarmac, so easy and level to walk on.

Had the place to myself and loved it. Perhaps the thunderstorms put others off . A good easy stroll with only slight undulations. Time to reflect as my Granddad was a Miner at Ifton colliery.

A really good place to visit, we often bring our dog for exercise, the place is well kept and is interesting. It is a shame however when people ignore signs which ask for certain areas to be left alone for nesting birds and then they walk around just where they shouldn't. A new notice board giving information about the mining history is very useful.
