Best ! even in summer morning... We could see cloud bed as height is good. Forest view from top with 7 -8 visible dams in Tilari area. Cars can reach at the top ,just 5 -10 minutes walking needed. Beautiful road with jungle view, all trees around. Good area for birding. Carry water and snacks as no shops nearby.

Went there along with three of my friends all sixty plus. This place is about 30km from Belgaum city on way to Amboli. We parked out car at Dhangarwadi and trecked to the top. Took nearly 50 minutes to cover 1.7 km. Deficulty level is moderate for senior citizens. View along the route and at top is breathtaking. While coming down took another route ( motorable) which is around 4.5 km and took nearly one hour(walking). A good trecking for beginners.

Fort fully surrounded by thick layer of forest. Even in mid summer this place is soothing.

There are two ways one way is flown in water and other is alternative local way better to go in winter or early Morning not best time to hike in rainy season because you are not prepared Fort is great in foggy days or winter days for better experience sometimes due to military practice we are not allowed to visit the fort most of the times the practice is in rainy season You have to carry your own food and hike 3329 foot vertically up from local way you have to manage parking area because there is no car parking area you have to park in village carry water and food because it's gets hard to hike if it's rainy season

This is a beautiful short hike at around 110 km from Kolhapur. You can experience wonderful weather & scenic surroundings if you go in monsoon. We had parked our bikes near the temple at the base. From there the ascent took only around 20-25 minutes & descend must have taken around 20 minutes. Do not expect food stalls here. Carry your own water and snacks. The place is overall clean so also don't litter please. :)

If you wanna feel that nature's vibes, wanna ride a offbeat road? then go here.. Spectacular view all around the fort. Fort is damaged now but the scene you won't be disappointed. Many dams around this fort in those hilly areas that gives unique view..

One of the beautiful and famous fort in Chandagad taluka of Kolhapur District. Trekking difficulty is moderate to average. Road is proper that even you can ride your bike or car on top of the fort. To reach your you've to have your own vehicle as public transportation is not that good in this area. How to reach - From Chandgad - It is around 20-25 km via Here Motanwadi road. From Belgaum - around 60 km via Patane phata road. There is not food or water available on fort so carry enough snacks and water. On top there is Temple, remainings of fort wallls and one well of ancient times.

One of the 5-6 forts that were built by Great Shivaji Maharaj to monitor Portugese movements near the Maharashtra border. The fort is a small structure with no stay near the fort. The road is a bit uneven and difficult for small vehicles. I would recommend going early and returning before 7 PM.

Amazing fort. It was covered in fog and clouds with heavy periodic rains (September). Worth the experience. Although please ask locals for the road as, it's confusing to find an accurate one. Don't follow Google maps. Very bumpy and not maintained road, best for off-road driving enthus. Also, don't expect any help in the radius of 7 km from the fort unless there are people up there (rare), so go prepared. The fort has 2 significances: 1. Built under Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj for inspecting Portugese and other forces towards Karnataka and Konkan. 2. P.L. Deshpande's original surname was "Kalanidhigadkar", his family origins are here.

Kalanandigad, an ancient fort in Kolhapur district, is among among the 111 forts built by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the 16th century. Built at 3,329ft above sea level, the fort offers breathtaking view and is a perfect weekend getaway for those looking for an adventurous trek amidst nature.

Excellent piece of architecture, one of the many forts occupied by Marathas, this fort is specially operated to keep an eye on the Portugese as it's sharing the border with Karnataka and goa
