👍 A good place to catch up if you love Indian railways🚂 and if you have some time left to board the other train. It's walkable distance from inside the railway station, easily accessible from the city centre. Never Think of Taking The TOY TRAIN🚂, unless you are carrying a small kid😜 People often mention good, railways, visit, Indian, train, museum, time, Railways, railway, history,

A fantastic effort by Railway Ministry to showcase a brief history of Indian Railways. It is neata and clean. Specially children will like this place a lot. Most useful information can be found here about The Great Indian Railways. The museum is great especially in evening time. There is ₹20/head cost for ticket and its worth to visit. Also they have toy train for the kids. Cafeteria and washroom also available.

It was really great visiting the railway museum @hubballi. Ticket issuing, signalling, lane changing etc and much more, all the process from when it started and the working of all these has been described in a detailed way. The history of railway and it's modernization has been shown here. Great to see the railways history......

If you want to spend an evening with kids or if you want to show an ideal sightseeing place to your guests in Hubballi, then you are at the right place. The place is both an amusement and educational place. There is a toy train for the kids to enjoy which work as push pull train. And there is a lot to learn about railway terminologies like signals, tracks, guards, equipment and much more. There is also cafeteria for a small snack and drink.

A fantastic effort by Railway authorities to showcase a brief history of Indian railways. It is neat, clean, tidy and stone' s throw away from the second exit (last platform side) of hubbali railway station. It is disabled friendly and has a very nice cafeteria. Worth a small 1- 1.5 hour visit. Ticket cost is Rs. 20 per person and Mondays is closed.

Very well maintained and great place for Sunday evening in summer. Toy train is very short and just goes back and forth 3 times. Evenings are best suited to visit this place. Entire visit just takes 45 mins since it's a small place.

Railway Museum is located towards Gadag road around 1.5 Kms from Hubli city centre - Kittur Rani Chennamma Circle. Museum showcases the heritage of Indian Railways with exhibits and artefacts from past decades. Its a must visit for those who loves to travel in trains and are eager to know about the railways and its heritage. Railway engineering students will get a lot of information on their subjects as well. Basic tourist facilities like cafeteria, drinking water, toilets and parking are available at this premises.

I honestly wish to give 5 stars for the effort they have put here. But deducting one star for not placing a steam locomotive there. Toy train is not enjoyable. It is just push and full for about 5 mtrs. It does not give you the experience at all. Remaining articles are really maintained well. My sincere respects to them.

Railway museum Hubli, is museum with the history of railways, how it developed and the different stages of its development through time. There are 3 model engines available for display, and a small meter guage engine bogie for a ride which has a runway of 100-150m. Just to experience it. There are 2 coach bogies, one of them being a restaurant which is closed and a theatre coach which has a short movie about the employees of the railways and the importance of their roles for functioning of railways. It was good and informative. Overall, you can spend good 1-2 hours of your time getting to know about Indian railways, which is fun. There is dedicated parking available.

It's good place e to take kids .Train museum showcases the history and don't forget to watch the short films scheduled every 30 mins. They have toy train ride and rest rooms . You can reach here by taking a auto or walk if u wish from railway station bus stop It's open from Tuesday to Sunday. Monday is holiday Flip side here U have to buy tickets via cash only. They don't accept upi nor cards which is bit puzzling. The staff counter was rude and he didn't have change also to give.

Lot of scope to attract people, but nothing much to see here also most of them like, designed theatre and hotel compartments are closed when we had been there. It will be better atleast if kids can have playgrounds or some games organized here. As there were not many attracted, no people at all I would say, place was well maintained and kept clean. Tickets can be brought on the spot, no advance booking needed.

Superb beautiful museum Hubballi’s getting a new rail museum to showcase the heritage of Indian Railways with exhibits and artefacts from past decades! Located near Hubballi Railway Station on Gadag Road, the museum will be open to visitors from Wednesday, August 5. the museum is spread across two cottages – Ghataprabha and Malaprabha (named after the Mahadayi river tributaries) – as well as an outdoor area. However, the magic begins right from the entrance arch. Done up with emblems of South Western Railway’s yesteryear trains, the museum’s grand arch transports you back in time starting from the moment you step in. You’ll find everything from rails and sleepers to level crossing gate and analogue signals in the galleries here. Our favourite though would be the narrow gauge coach which has statues of passengers from various parts of the country, depicting ‘Unity in Diversity’.

Beautiful place and I am sure most of us are fascinated with the way Railways work, especially if you are from the gen 80s and 90s, you can relive the memories (from ticketing to signalling, everything before modernization took place )
