Unbelievably unprofessional business. I registered my wife and I for the Open Water Dive back in September. It went down hill from here. I had to chase this business for over a week for the learning material required to complete the pre knowledge test via several emails/phone calls On the day of the Dive, we were wrongly over charged for equipment hire, and when this was pointed out the person in the shop "pretended" to rerun the card for a refund. After completion of the course,and unaware of the phantom Refund, I booked a subsequent dive with this company as the trainers I worked with were fantastic, professional, and I felt comfortable with them. Sam in particular was fantastic and very patient with my wife. Fast forward 6weeks - and my refund still had not shown. I've been told only Mick is authorised to process refunds, and surprisingly every single time I've contacted the store he is either unavailable, out of town, or simply not working that day. After many many emails and many many phone calls, messages etc being told "don't worry mate we'll get right on it" I drove to the store - and Lo and behold there was Mick himself who just happened to be in the store at the time - what were the chances - and he processed the refund. I told him I also wanted to cancel the dive I had booked and still hadn't completed - the first date was canceled by the store due to conditions, the 2nd attempted date cancelled by the store due to lack of interest from other divers - and he begrudgingly agreed "Don't worry mate I'll get that actioned straight away via PayPal. The refund has to go through them, I can't put it directly back on the card" Seemed odd, but ok - 3-5days Max 2 weeks later, still no refund, no contact, and once again every phone call is met with "micks not here right now.... I can leave a message...sorry I can't give you his direct number..... should be back tomorrow" Disgraceful way to run a business, and with so many options in the Dive game in s.e Queensland, you'd be better off taking your money elsewhere Tl;dr - took money wrongly, refusing to refund, won't return calls or emails Update: cheers for the response, any update on my money ?

The place to go to if you want to be scammed out of your money not the place for diving.. It's very interesting how they are no longer with PADI I wonder why? There are so many places to do your Divemasters this is not one of them.

Somehow my last review has been removed so I thought I would re-write it considering I am still so angry at the unprofessional cowboy behaviour of this dive shop owner. I paid a large sum of money up front to do a load of dives, every time I tried booking in for one I was shunted to the side with some lame excuse. Took over 3 months to get my money back (after threatening legal action) and when I finally did he charged me almost $200 for doing some rubbish shore dive. I am surprised they manage to stay in business because they do not deserve to be in such a privileged line of work.

Couldn't attend the course and had to sue the owner for a refund. Disgraceful business and the owner was extremely rude on the phone. Do your course elsewhere...the guy is a sting.

Can’t say enough good things about the BDA Team - professional, thoughtful and patient, is just the start. Both my kids (15 and 13) recently completed their open water dive course and led by Victoria, the team and her instructors took the time with the kids to make sure they understood the skills and were comfortable in and under the water, and both kids are now hooked! Thanks again guys and we’ll be back for some fun diving with you :)

The divers are great and everyone should go dive with them, funny people lots of character cheers guys.

We completed our certification recently and we’re very happy with the level of friendly and professional service we received. Morgan and Leada are amazing instructors reassuring us every step of the way. Although we had cancelations post the Brisbane floods, the team came through for us providing alternative dates and offering a positive experience where we felt safe and not pushed to complete the drills until we were ready. Thank you guys for providing a great experience. 🤟

If you want to learn to dive, this company is the absolute best! There has been heaps of bad weather around lately, which affected when we could do our dives. These guys made sure our group was certified before we went up north and came in on their day off (Easter Monday) to help us finish our last dive before flying. I cannot recommend this company enough. Many other dive companies would have said too bad - you will have to finish your course later, but they went above and beyond. Also, massive thanks to the amazing instructors Dillon and Morgan, both were brilliant teachers, super friendly and made me feel extra safe when I was nervous on my first dive. Morgan & Dillon, really helped me achieve something awesome and if it weren’t for their encouragement and reassurance, I don’t think I would have finished the course. Thanks Brisbane Dive Centre for a 100/10 experience. I can’t thank you enough!

Totally recommended! I was not an easy student... and if it hadn't been for all the patience they had with me and support they gave me, I would have never got my Open Water. A special thank you to Matt and Dillon - they are amazing professionals.

Amazing staff and service

Incredible experience with the team at BDA. Communication was very clear in the emails, and we had some great weather so we could enjoy our open water dive course without issue. Dillon and Toby worked well as a team instructing us, and shared ideas for how we could continue learning in the future. Really looking forward to getting back in the water and learning more, hoping to see you for the advanced course before too long! Highly recommend this to anybody interested in diving

I don't recommend for any one. Try any other company. Company policy is trainee is to purchase Mask, Snorkel, boots and fins. YOU DO NOT USE THE SNORKEL, BUT IT IS SOLD TO YOU. If the items purchased are not in the shop, they will be at the first day of training. Items I purchased were not at my first day or the second day either. The other major point that you are not told is the dive sites is 90 minutes from the office. They claim there is a bus....but that is a lie. There is no bus. You are expected to drive to dive site. There are no change rooms at the dive site and no toilets. This is not a problem if you like to pee in your wetsuit.

Highly recommend BDA! Completed the open water dive course under Dillon and Toby’s instruction. Such a calm and fun environment. Even as a complete novice I found the skill progression very achievable. Very interested in continuing to the advanced open water course. Thanks BDA, looking forward to seeing you again soon!

My experience getting my open water license with Patchi was amazing! I've now gone on to dive at other sites and feel completely comfortable under the water.

Our 13 year old daughter recently completed her Open Dive ticket and really enjoyed the course. The instructors are so accommodating and friendly and we had total confidence in them. Great communication and well organised would not hesitate to recommend them.

Instructors have lots of knowledge and very well trained, shop is really good and lots of information. Mick and dylan are very knowledgeable guys

Mick is an amazingly knowledgeable and skilled operator. I did my Nitrox course with him and learnt much more than just the course data. I also redid my open water dive course after 15 years with Dillion and the experience was smooth and easy, and I felt safe and comfortable in the water the whole time.

I had the most amazing weekend doing my open water diver with Brisbane Dive Academy. My instructors Seren and Jono were amazing from start to finish. They made me feel comfortable and safe the whole time. I was nervous to begin with but the nerves soon disappeared with these guys coaching me. The location for the ocean dives was also incredible and it was great to see some wildlife on our first few dives. I would 100% recommend Brisbane Dive Academy. They are fabulous start to finish.

Thoroughly enjoyed every minute of my open water course. The staff were very friendly and helpful in teaching me to dive. Couldn't have asked for a better course and diving team!

Thank you Brisbane Dive Academy. I did a disk in my back and had to postpone my course which they did free of charge. Then when I was doing the course they made special adjustments for my bad back. Extremely helpful and would recommend to anyone.

Mick and his team at Brisbane Dive Academy do a fantastic job with the PADI system. They are smart, funny and professional when it comes to teaching and learning. I have completed the open water and advanced courses. I plan on doing the rescue diver course next. I can't say enough positive things about the team here. They will train you well and work you hard but it will be fun and knowledgeable at the same time.

Awesome experience, friendly staff and very easy to follow along. Our 2 day course consisted of 5 closed water dives (pool dives) to learn all the basic techniques and 4 open water dives at Tweed River. Was somewhat awkward at first getting used to breathing underwater, but our instructor Ian was very reassuring and helped us with every step of the way! 5 Stars would recommend!

Have done every single one of my dive courses through Brisbane Dive Academy and have never been disappointed. Professional but also fun. Highly recommended.

They are fantastically friendly, accommodating. My Open Water Cert was extremely useful and I feel very capable and prepared when on dives. I will be going back for my Advanced because they are thorough and offer plenty of explanation.

Have not been in yet but saw their sign out the front "70% of the earth is covered in water, non diver's enjoy your 30% of living" I thought dang I need to learn how to dive.

I did a ReActivate course with Brisbane Dive Academy last week. The divemasters made me very comfortable getting back in the water, and we had an amazing couple of dives in the Tweed River. Awesome brand new gear, professional yet laid back people. Can't wait to dive with you guys again!

Did my open water course with Scott, Jake and Dan @ Brisbane Dive Academy. Scott is a great teacher and fun to learn from. Attentive, friendly and clear. Jake and Dan are both great pal to dive with. Would recommend anyone who is considering to learn scuba diving around Brisbane!

If you're thinking about doing your dive course, stop thinking and just do it... Dan and Vic are absolute legends, couldn't ask for better instructors. My 12yo daughter attained her PADI open water yesterday. From initial contact to picking her up yesterday, the whole experience was excellent. Mick, Brian, Dillon, and Dan know their stuff and made my daughter's experience great. She learnt so much and they couldn't have been more helpful.she will be back for more at BDA. Highly recommended!

Fantastic weekend with Matt and Dillon doing our 2-day open water diving course. Matt was knowledgeable, patient and fun and made the weekend a breeze

My wife and I initially visited the store as a referral from a manufacturer for some gear as a local store was not very helpful. We had our training booked in elsewhere, but had difficulty there. BDA have been absolutely amazing in helping us continue our desire to undertake scuba. They truely have gone well beyond what they had to. We look forward to coming back soon! If in doubt (on gear, on dives or training), give them a call or pop in. The team are very pleasant and easy to interact with. BDA also issue RTO statements of attainment and go to technical diving levels. With skills like that, you would be crazy (like we were) to look elsewhere!!

Took advantage of the BDA gift vouchers and got the whole family diving! Thanks Mick & Co! Nothings ever too hard, the team are accommodating and so helpful! Special thanks to our instructors Jarrad & Emma! We will be back to do the Advanced Course.
