Absolute 3rd class airport. No lounge, no restaurant, no overnight stay facility. This shouldn't be considered as international airport. Even 3rd world country domestic airport is better than this international airport. Absolute waste. Airport is dead silent after 10:00 pm and closes. Wait what... International Airport closes... Yeah that's right. People rating it 4-5 stars actually don't know abc of what an international airport must offer as a minimum. I feel pity for them. Also, just 4 charging points for the whole airport (domestic + international)... I guess I would have applied that common sense at the age of 12 that an airport need to offer at least 25+ charging points as a minimum. But common sense is something not common these days. On a serious note, I have started to hate Queensland due to lack of advancement compared to NSW and Vic.

Nothing beats your home airport :) love all the new parking and long term parking lots. Airport its self is always clean and tidy. The toilets are always clean. Ground staff are always very helpful and patient. Security is always quick.

Gold Coast Airport is located in Bilinga, QLD, Australia. The airport is easy access from M1 and is a hub for many international flights. It is not a crowded airport and all the gates are easily accessible even if you are running late. Some airlines offer special discounts on flights arriving or departing the Goal Coast Airport.

November 2023 Update I have upgraded my rating from 2 stars to 4 stars. I was happy to find that the staff at International Customs Arrivals practising courtesy and conversing in a pleasant manner and tone. The gentleman who I had not seen before did a sterling job. Also the staff at the check-in counters in Departures are amazingly efficient and professional. Below, you will find my earlier comments and ratings October 2023 Updated review The international arrivals remains a huge problem area. On my latest trip, I felt embarrassed at the cold and sometimes crude responses from staff especially the Border Force officials. They are drowning in their self importance and endeavour to display it to all arriving passengers. One of the female officers was so crude that I recommend that she be transferred to the Prisons dept as a guard. There are numerous signs emphasizing that bad behaviour is not tolerated but they need to reform their own attitudes first. The 2 stars are for departures which operates smoothly. Both domestic and international check in counters are side by side in the old building. Below is the original review. They might have a new terminal but still lots to learn. Arriving at the International terminal, the over zealous staff at customs want almost everyone checked , but there are not enough staff. That means a long wait. Totally unacceptable. I thought the idea was to promote tourism. If you're hungry, you'll need a small fortune to buy anything. Once you exit, you have to walk to domestic because international has no pick up area. Very cold and unfriendly place

Reasonable sized airport and is a gateway to the Gold coast. Domestic and international arrivals and departures. Public transport: several options, bus, hire car, ride share, taxi. One option you can catch bus route 777 from outside baggage pick up to broadbeach south light rail station, goto exit door where taxi rank is and bus stop for 777 is just slightly opposite start of taxi rank on road. (see the 777 bus stop sign) and catch to the last light rail / tram station at Broadbeach South near Star Casino and alight to ride on the light rail to Surfers paradise and as far as Helensvale. You will need to buy a go card and put credit on it to travel on translink 777 bus and the G Link light rail. Buy from a retailer at airport or from any light rail station or prepay online and get mailed to you before you travel to Queensland. A relatively small airport but functional. For international departures, take note that there is a second round of baggage check (with long queue). There is a more classy cafe and duty free shopping at the international departure gates too, so do not stop en route to your gate. The cleanliness of the washrooms here, however, cannot even compare to the toilets in the nature reserves.

A decent airport. It is a small but clean. They have all the signs that help you to go through your directions whether going to Gold Coast city or looking for a toilet inside the terminal.

I'm only giving it a 4 instead of 5 because I witnessed a security staff member being quite rude with a traveller. Other than that it was great! Clean, easy to navigate, good facilities, lounge, etc.

Everything's easy at the Gold Coast airport, parking, check-in, security screening. Nothing's too far away because it's nice and small but why oh why does it take so long for the bags to hit the carousel?

Great airport. Small and uncomplicated, but also has great services to around Australia and the world. Much better than slogging it up to Brisbane Airport.

It’s pretty good for its size, having everything you’d likely need. There’s coffee, meals, books, bags, etc. However, it’s not lavishly furnished by any means. Haven’t had a bad experience here in terms of checking in or security at all, so all in all it’s a decent airport.

Great short & long term parking options. Pick ups can be taxis or Uber. Virgin Lounge is well appointed for a regional airport with good service to match. A range of shops with some good retailers & great range of cafes

A fairly efficient airport but annoying to get the free wifi which asks you just too many questions that are irrelevant. Paradox Coffee Roasters would be a good coffee option after passing through security. Note: There are no air bridges but a short walk to the airplane under the open skies

The airport's customer service is excellent. Thank you to the friendly and welcoming flight attendants. 5 🌟 for them.🀩 Unfortunately, the facilities are old. The food at the restaurant is both expensive and not delicious, so I spent time looking at the clouds to keep myself happy then.πŸ˜…

Airport is well spaced out, easy to find where you need to go, plenty of parking. Staff is friendly & helpful. My only point for improvement is after you pass through security, there is very limited seating while waiting to board your flight.

Gold Coast Airport is good and simple , straight from security to gates , new extension is amazing, always plenty of carpark. Most flights you go outside to board the plane so just prepare for that πŸ˜πŸ‘πŸŒž

Huge changeover after the recent renovations. Not a little regional airport anymore. Getting better and better, hopefully will grow as big as the Brisbane airport. Plenty of parking, though may need a muli storey parking at some point. Infrastructure is good.

The new international wing is lovely and, so far, not crowded. The building is well designed to take in the stunning view across the tarmac to the hinterland. There are plenty of comfortable seats with USB & an assortment of international plugs for devices. The food is standard &, coming from Byron, doesn't seem too expensive for what it is. Toilets are swanky😁 I'm happy waiting in the main area and don't feel a lounge in necessary unlike many other airports

Small but adequate airport-not much in terms of food/drinks compared to the larger airport, but that’s to be expected. Surprised at how friendly the staff were!! Amazing!

Simple Airport with clear signage around on directing the passengers to the customs and the gates. Fair number of washrooms not too far between each section. There are family and assistance required lanes for the security checks. Simple and smooth as long as the traveler isn't carrying tons of unnecessary items along .

Fairly nice airport, easy to navigate to and around. Terminal is clean as there were always lots of cleaning staff around. Passing security was quick. About 8 food options within the domestic gate area. Can get busy and hard to find seating when multiple flights are leaving at a similar time and very crowed at arrivals carousel as international flights may have of arrived. Hire car pick-up location/carpark is opposite the drop off and arrivals lane.

Currently undergoing renovations which will increase retail shops and update the decor. Nice and small airport with easy check in and security and gates are close by with plenty of seating. Fresh water drinking fountains and clean toilets. Popular food outlets and other stores still operating. Looking forward to seeing the new look when we return on next holiday.
