Gold Coast Iceland

Ice skating rink

😠 Visited 23/3. It pays to read the reviews first it seems. The rink is badly damaged with what looks like extremely poor maintenance. Holes and divets and melted sections everywhere. Condensation on everything. The whole place is in a terrible state and extremely unsafe imo. I was a confidant skater... People often mention rink, skating, staff, time, great, good, nice,

Condensation on everything. The whole place is in a terrible state and extremely unsafe imo. I was a confidant skater years ago and felt like I could get back into the swing with ease but found myself feeling unsafe on that ice. The state of the skates themselves are also bad with a lot of them torn or mouldy. Just generally not great and wouldn't go back.

Worst rink in Aus, definitely in QLD. The building itself is rundown and in a state of disrepair. The temperature control and ventilation isn't functional as there is condensation on every surface and puddles of water across about half the ice surface. Seats, walls, floors are all sodden and the roof is leaking in multiple areas onto the ice. The ice itself is uneven, full of holes and at one end there is a crease/ditch that runs the breadth of the rink. The place is unsafe and and to top it off two adults cost $58, nearly $20 more than Ice World in Brisbane. Save your money and go somewhere else.

We joined an express session to have one of the staff intimidate our children, call them “stupid” and swear under their breath in front of 7 year olds. The owner did not see this as an issue- did not even offer an apology. If you would like to pay to go somewhere that is supposed to be fun and have your children leave upset, scared and confused this is the place to go! Will certainly never return and hope that the business owner seriously reconsiders the way they choose staff and interact with customers, otherwise their poorly maintained venue will run out of people willing to be treated this way.

Came a couple of weeks ago. Ice is very wet and melted. Uneven ice with holes everywhere. The seating was completely wet. Pretty disappointed.

Worst rink ever. Melted ice with holes everywhere. The seats were wet, and because of the melted ice there is a big condensation. My partner and I are not going back never again. It was her birthday and she is a really good ice skater. Such a waste of time and money

Needs a complete re-vamp! I think it’s only busy because there is literarily no where else to go. There’s not one dry place to sit, the place is falling apart. Would be nice to be able to actually get a decent hot drink or food other than instant noodles. Kids wanted an ice-cream. The Streets sign is displayed the kiosk but they don’t have ice-creams. I was told it was there for looks 😂 Such a shame that place could be really cool. Would be good if the owners considered a Reno so it was a modern Rink. Felt like I was stepping back into the 80’s 🤣

On one side it’s a great fresh breeze inside (so good when it’s +31 outside). On the other side it’s the worst ice quality I’ve seen in my life. I do not know if it’s possible to make a great ice on the Gold Coast, but I’ve been in California open air ice rink that operates on +22 and ice was ok (not great but much better than here). Was not crowded on Saturday but still Ovechkin was spotted on ice. Gear is a bit outdated so it’s better just to BYO.

It's a good size rink, the rink is mostly smooth but there are the odd bumps here and there but overall it's decent. There's helmets but unfortunately no penguin balance things. Been here for the last two years for our daughter's birthday (just as a family) and she's loved it.

Had a quiet session because we went in the week, which was very nice. The ice itself is very uneven in some places and has many holes due to the roof leaking onto it. The shoes I had were quite worn and bent, so the plastic edges pushed into my ankle making it quite uncomfortable. Its alright if you just want to skate now and then though.⛸

A very good place to have fun and do some ice skating on a hokey rink. The evening session is from 7:30 to 9pm. You can hire the skates and the price is pretty cheap and just give them back when you're done. You can also see the hockey games they play there if you arrive early.

My daughter went here today with a few friends and I'm shocked at what she has come home telling me. She is a competent ice skater and roller blader and has come home with several injuries. She went to a 10:30am session and from what I have heard the ice was not safe to be skating on. It was melting and was very uneven. There was a staff member that went out to test the rink and even they fell over on their back, hitting their head. There wasn't even enough skates in their size which resulted in even more injuries of bruises and blisters. You are lucky there wasn't any serious injuries.

The ice was pretty horrible if Im being honest. I've been skating in Brisbane most my time and coming down to gold coast to see how poor this rink is was pretty disappointing. The Ice was very uneven from condensation dripping from the roof, was basically melted and puddles everywhere, and the staff were not that pleasant. Im only going to be skating in Brisbane. Iceland, please do better.

Best price for a hour and half of ice skating. Went there with friends and we had such a fun time. The staffs are really nice as well, one of my friends was having trouble selecting the right sized boot to skate and the staff waited patiently and had him try out different sizes until he found the right one. Definitely would come back and visit again sometime.

What a shame it's so rundown and old. The Gold Coast needs a new modern ice skating rink. There was 4 young people sitting in the front office chatting. I kept on having to knock on the door to ask them questions about fitment of skates. Someone did end up helping us. No-one even asked me if the children had skated before. We had to wait at the skate's desk for someone to hand over the skates. I literally had to knock on the door and interrupt their conversation 3 times. No staff member wearing a uniform was walking around. The kids had a great time though.

The place is alright just for ice skating. Might need a quick refresh I think. Ice was melting a little. Price is very reasonable for the fun you get.

Fun for all ages. Price is reasonable. Gets really busy and parking area is small but there's street parking. It gets pretty cold inside, so don't go on your singlets or shorts take an extra jumper and recommend gloves and warm hat. For expectators, there's seats but some areas can feel wet due to the condensation in the room so go prepare and plan ahead so you can enjoy your trip. There's not a big selection of foods but there's hot drinks and sweet snacks for a reasonable price.

This place is going to collapse! I felt the floor giving way underneath me and there was a lot of rotting wood around windows and wall frames. I was able to break it away with 2 fingers.

Kids had a ball. Typical run down rink. Had a nicer lounge area. Lots of work to do.

Visited on a Tuesday with cheaper rate. Not very busy which was great. Looks a bit run down but still had fun and staff was friendly

It was amazing, I went with a group of friends. Customer service was really nice and helpful. The ice skate shoes were good, not bad. The ice rink had some melted ice at the end of the rink and some water dripping down from the roof (it was raining that night). All in all, we had a great time! Would come again.

It was amazing the staff helped me (cause I’m not the most confident I just went with my friend) but I had the best time the staff were so nice and supportive I would definitely recommend and they were speedy af

Great rink on the Gold Coast - just west of Surfers Paradise! Public Session or play some ice hockey!
