The restaurant was styled well and it was a comfortable place to dine. The service was excellent. Our waitress was friendly and she was all over our requests. Unfortunately the food was not that good and my group did not enjoy it. We ordered a grazing plate, salmon and the pork cutlet. The grazing plate was not very interesting and was over priced. The pork was a large, over-fried piece of meat. Whomever fried the meal spoiled the dish. I was asked how I wanted my salmon cooked and I requested medium. When it arrived, it was well done. The soba noodle accompaniment was not very interesting either. We ordered kids meals of chicken and chips. Again, the chicken was over-fried and the kids only ate the chips. The meal and drinks came to almost $200. I did not believe that our meals were worth the cost. It's a shame that the food was not very good. The place is nice and if the food was better, it would be a good place to go to.

The food we ordered was okay. I ordered risotto with chilli but the chilli was not hot at all. My friend ordered the seafood platter. He was happy with that. The entres were okay. I'll choose differently, next time.

Update on Oct 2nd 2023: Booked a 12 person table for dinner with family and friends while my husbands parents from Colorado were in town and had a fabulous time, our server Johnathan was AMAZING, friendly, patient and went out of his way to accommodate an alternative request from us on one of the dishes, we also thank the kitchen for being so flexible. The food was all delicious, I had the rib eye, my husband had the lamb cutlets, both cooked to perfection, we also shared the prawn risotto which my mother in law said was the best risotto she's ever had. She eats like a bird and usually has to take food home in a box, the fact that she ate some risotto, plus 2 pieces of bread (which she also raved about) and finished her entire nourish bowl and a piece of my dessert was very surprising and means she really enjoyed the food. My father in law had some grilled bugs with garlic butter which he said were awesome, along with the prawn risotto. Our friends had salmon and beef fillet, my family had beef fillet and the tomahawk steak and some shared sides, one of my brothers also had the entree special (a sashimi carpaccio dish which he said was mouthwatering). They also brought out a bowl of yummy sticky date pudding with candles for my belated birthday, and some sharing plates because it's a rather large dessert so I was able to share. Everyone was very happy with their meals and with Johnathan's top service. Jume 2023: Came here with the family to celebrate my husband's birthday and my sister in laws arrival from Colorado. We had a fantastic time, our server Michael from Florida was truly the best, he's my parents favorite staff member there, they request him whenever they dine there. The food was delicious (although the seafood platter was quite pricey for what you get), cocktails were fabulous and desserts were scrumptious. The reservation came with a bottle of wine, we love the atmosphere in there, it's a large restaurant but still somehow feels nice and cozy. Will be back for more of that tomahawk steak, prawn risotto and those delicious cocktails!

Delicious food and drinks. We had a few of the the giant tomahawk steaks between the table, which tasted amazing. Tried the limited edition apple pie cocktail which was equally as amazing. Our server Michael was also wonderful, helping us have an amazing birthday celebration lunch! Also had 2 babies in tow with us and the staff were very helpful supplying any extra things we needed for them.

Believe me, they don’t make them like Micheal anymore. Nothing better than great food combined with even better service. A truly memorable night thanks to the fantastic service and recommendations by Micheal. Generous servings size also never go astray. Great stuff.

We came here for a breakfast - arrived at 9:30 and it was pretty busy, so a bit of a wait to order. However the restaurant is spacious and we had a beautiful table. Food and coffees arrived promptly and we honestly couldn't fault a thing. Everything was delicious and surprisingly fairly priced for the quality and taste. Such great service at Garden Kitchen &Bar! Fantastic service by Michael. He knowledge about food served and wine to go with it is simply great! He knows his stuff. We were so impressed. We celebrated my friend’s birthday there and Michael even brought out a little cut of a chocolate cake with birthday wishes and a candle on it! She loved it! What a lovely end to the day

We ordered the flank steak special, lamb shoulder and a few other dishes. All very good, as was the service. The cheesecake and 'bounty bar' desserts were delicious

Micheal who accommodated our requests and made perfect suggestions for dinner. He was a pleasure to deal with and was enlightening with the knowledge he shared about the sources of our meal. Food and drinks were outstanding, with service and atmosphere to match.

A corner that we had not walked around before yielded the Garden Kitchen Bar! Finally found a good place to eat and drink compared to the Buffet. Lovely cosy atmosphere and sitting out on the "grass" lawn enjoying our drinks while watching footy on the big screen was a nice way to finish the day. Did not eat here today, so I will not rate their food or service this time.

What a fabulous place. We had a small wait for a table but the bar staff set us up with cocktails to enjoy. Once seated we were taken care of very well by Michael, delivering professional care and quirky humour. The food was top class, the chef's special was a life changing experience. We will definitely return and return and return.

It is my partner birthday today, we booked in last minute here at the Garden. Michael the staff member looked after us, he was absolutely amazing with giving us great recommendation of steak, wine, cocktails and food. Couldn’t recommend him more!

Been here a few times with the family. Canadian Club month and a few delicious specials including the Apple Pie cocktail. Big shout out to our waiter Michael - never seen anyone work a busy floor so efficiently yet never lost his cool or humour. Mum is a huge fan and looking forward to coming back!

The Garden is a fairly upmarket yet casual restaurant offering a special assortment of food and beverage. The star of the menu is no doubt their selection of Tomahawk steaks, which they proudly display raw at the table for you to select if you choose to do so. I opted for their winter set menu instead as it was a slow cooked beef cheek main with a starter of potato and leak soup and a sticky date pudding dessert. The soup was phenomenal. It came with flakes of smoked salmon and some delicious bread, and I would have happily had seconds of it, very flavourful for what can sometimes be a bland soup. The main was a very generous serving of beef cheek, which was able to be shredded with one hand and a fork. It was that tender. It wasn't rich in any seasoning, which allowed the full beef flavour to be experienced. It came with an accompaniment of vegetables. The dessert was decent, yet I wish it was the full-size serving that they offer on the menu. The sticky date pudding itself was a little lacking on the dates. However, it was pleasant. All in all, it was a very decent satisfying feed. Friendly service goes a long way, and our host Michael accomadated all our needs with great professionalism in a very friendly manner. Be prepared to pay. The set menu was $65, the tomahawks are priced by weight, and the seafood platters are quite expensive.

Great food and first class service! Have eaten here twice over a several month period and both experiences were really good, hard to fault actually. Michael was very attentive and knowledgeable. Desserts very pretty 😍 Will definitely be back to try the seafood platter!

Great place for a drink, client entertainment or meal. We stayed at the hotel for a conference and enjoyed our time at this bar conveniently right near the elevators. Chips are super!

Our server Michael was amazing! Made our night so enjoyable with his banter. He was So attentive, had great recommendations for cocktails the best one being a Hatchet Granny. If you like strawberries you’ll love this! The food was incredible, beautifully cooked, lots of flavour and very accomodating to allergies. 10/10 would recommend and we’ll definitely be coming back.

We had the Tomahawk steak between three of us and it was the most beautifully cooked, tender steak I have ever had- here is a before and after. 100% would recommend this to everyone! Beautiful service from Michael our waiter as well, very friendly and professional.

Our experience at the Garden Kitchen and Bar was overall extremely satisfying. Our first night we enjoyed a seafood platter to share which was all fresh and tasty, the service was very fast and polite, we were shown great enthusiasm when being served by both Christopher and Michael. We were recommended the tomahawk steak which was phenomenal, cooked to perfection and tender.

Another great dining place here at The Star Gold Coast. It’s worth checking their regular promos from time to time. Service is generally good, efficient and friendly. The good quality is divine especially if you order steak, fish, or seafood however we aren’t a fond of their poultry menu. Dessert is always recommended to finish your dining experience on a high note.

Very modern and niche atmosphere. I ordered the Prawn risotto as my main. The meal was will presented and the taste was satisfactory. However the portion size was underwhelming. My partner ordered Macadamia crusted salmon though the samon was cold.

Thank for your accommodating us as I didn't make a booking and we secured the last table available on a Friday night. I was really excited to try this place as the menu sounded really good even as a vegetarian. Unfortunately the food and service was disappointing :( Ordered drinks and watched our drinks sitting at the bar around 4 metres away from us for about 20 minutes lol as we were waiting for drinks and water after ordering food. Had to ask waiters multiple times for water. The waiters looked disorientated and disorganised, and would for some reason crowd around in the area where a bunch of glasses and look like they didn't know what to do lol. This was happening I was watching my poor drink as the ice was melting for a long time. I was wanting to go grab it myself. Then as soon as we got our water and drinks after asking a third time, the food came altogether. I ordered the cauliflower as it was the only vegetarian main dish. It looks pretty depressing and I was hoping it would at least taste better than it looked for $31. It hardly had any flavour and the pomegranate seeds and the tiny bit of hummous on the side wasn't great either. I only took a few bites of this. The salad was also a big disappointment. Over $20 and even the leaves couldn't be cut up? I've never in my life ordered a salad and had to use a knife and fork to cut the leaves. Some pumpkin and avocado but not much other than those huge leaves and some tahini sauce. My partners steak he said hardly had any flavour. Regretted ordering it as it was $65! I was glad I ordered the chat potatoes as its the only thing that tasted good, so that was a save. Hope they get more organised and can review their menu items because I wouldn't recommend to anyone based on that experience :(

Like everything that’s attached to an establishment like this it goes without saying that it’s very expensive. The service and food was superb but be prepared to fork over lots of money for anything and n the menu. Otherwise a fun experience. 👍😎

Having been several times, Garden Kitchen & Bar has not let me down once with the quality of the food and general service. Fair prices too when using the Star membership discounts.

Ambiance is really good for a casual dinner, staff are super friendly as well. We ordered steak as well as seafood because the seafood was on offer, the steak was superb, juicy and soft. Portion was slightly above average, if you really enjoy the steak, you should be able to finish it. Lobster on the other hand was so so, some pieces was chewy and hard, but others were okay, like my father said "nothing to crow about". But overall experience was great. Will come back again, and it is worth to apply for The Star membership even though you don't gamble, cos they do have other offer for stay and food.
