This place has the best okonomiyaki I have ever had outside of Japan. So filling and delicious - it was absolutely amazing. My dad ordered the Japanese curry - he said it was really good too. Unexpected coming from a traditional pub style seeming restaurant but really so so good would 100% recommend ordering the tofu okonomiyaki if you ever are in Tugun.

Wow all the food was nice. Lovely staff that gave us good suggestions. We had the eggplant, korean bowl and chicken. Will come back for the beers when we are in the area again!

Holy WOW batman! Found this place by accident. This is a labour of love by the owner and you can tell. Boutique beers on tap, tapas Asian inspired. This place rocks! Great friendly and helpful staff, fantastic menu. Sit, chat, eat, drink and be merry - this is the Gold Coast at its best!

Gotta love the backbone. Gav is a great bloke and he's a huge supporter of local brewers from in and around the area. Been down there many times and had some great conversations over many a good beers. There's always interesting brews on tap, changing all the time and if you're willing to experiment, you can broaden your horizons by speaking to the knowledgeable staff. Nosh is pretty decent too. The area has benefitted greatly by having a boozer like this to drop into. Keep up the good work.

Excellent selection of beers on tap. 5 Stars for not all of them being IPA. Food is great, service is good, heaps of decent weekday specials. These guys do everything good, even the pinball machines are on point. Solid vegan/plant based menu. I've eaten at a lot of places in the GC and this is a fast favourite.

Great craft beer bar with incredible food and a real laid back vibe. No table service. Great tunes and all the staff are easy to chat with and knowledgable.

Fantastic drinks, esp sour ale range. Family and dog friendly. We had the teriyaki wings (ok), duck spring rolls (very good) and good chips. Fantastic staff that know the drink menu and the food menu, and they have pinball (omg) machines. Highly recommended

This place is generally a better option than the Tugun Tavern and Surf Club, yet has room for improvement. Okonomiyaki was doughy and undercooked, Snapper in fish n chips tasted washed out. Gyoza were good. Beers were very good in taste and value. Bar maids did not have a clue about the beers and made errors on orders. It would be more proffesional if they had better training and more appropriate attire. Overall worth a try and above average.

I understand owning and running a business especially in the hospitality industry has long hours with hard work is very exhausting. However as an owner and operator you cannot afford to become '" Shopblind". Each day before you open you need to stand back and look and think ,are my floors clean, do I need to get rid of the cobwebs ,do my fixtures and fittings need updating, does my front shop look like its been furnished from an op shop. Are the menus free from grime and presented in an attractive format. Consumers notice these things and want to be able to relax and meld into the atmosphere .Sadly I could not do that here

Just aweful in every way. Food was aweful, fish tasted like supermarket frozen deep fried and the salad? asked for a green salad and fish, got a blank stare, eventually the bored , miserable looking girl said I could pay for the fish and salad separately!. But.... the salad was shredded cabbage with 4 mushrooms and about 3 cherry tomatoes cut in half. Apparently they only do Japanese salad?. Would've been nice to know in advance, but it seems salad is a mystery in this place. Honestly I was shocked that a seafood "restaurant" right by the ocean offered such garbage. In addition they had a notice written on the door urging customers to close the door due to the airconditioning but surprise, surprise it was hot as hell inside which really just completed the terrible experience for me. I'd like to say something nice but honestly everything was as bad as it gets - avoid.

A great friendly vibe. A group of friends greeted jovially, by who seemed like the owner, who happily and quickly jumped to welcome all. Great hospitality and food. πŸ˜‡ Cool bits of arts scattered around too πŸ™

Great spot for families with parents who are fans of craft beers & Japanese food. Kids entertained by the pinball machines & planes coming in to land. Quick & friendly service. Casual atmosphere. Definitely reccomend.

Great range of local craft beers and other beverages on tap, a dozen or so in total and cocktails etc. Top marks for offering good range of interesting asian (mostly Japanese) foods including a dedicated gluten-free menu and Vegan vegetarian which is a nice touch for a place like this! Great little find in Tugan and very nice place to meet people for casual catch up without the pretension of many other places on the Gold Coast.

Huge variety of real independent Craft Beers! Core beers plus 20+ constantly changing taps, huge variety of cans also. Great menu, burgers, fish & chips, plus Japanese tapas. Staff are knowledgeable about craft beers, the owner Gav is a local legend, and a huge craft beer advocate. He also opened a rustic wine bar nextdoor, great for private party's or wine and beer tastings events. I can't praise them enough, venues like this showcases the craft industries finest, and it's the first stop for fresh Currumbin Valley kegs!

Handled a big crowd, supporting the Moustache Ride for Men’s Health. Beer was cold, food was fresh and service was too notch. Top place to end an awesome day.

Loved my trip to backbone! Specific mention to the variety of local craft beers and massive variety on the menu - the perfect spot for a big group of friends with something for everybody. I really the Takoyaki octopus balls - so different and so much flavour!

Very nice venue. Stopped in on a slow Sunday afternoon for a few beers and some fried bites. The place is nicely themed with plenty of seating and tables that can accommodate large groups. The food was quite good and service was friendly and efficient. Have visited a number of times now and always pleased with the experience.
