We went on a Sunday afternoon. The restaurant wasn't particularly busy however the menu looked inviting. 2 of the party had Salmon with Rocket/Parmesan salad along with Chat potatoes and I had a Medium rare 300g Sirloin Steak . Both meals were cooked exactly to our preferences. The Salmon was juicy and full of flavour, my Steak was also Juicy and had the right amount of char on it . We had a Pint of Tiger Beer and Vodka Soda. The service was OK, nothing over the top . We enjoyed the meal and sat outside under the large awnings keeping the sun off us. Prices were reasonable with both meals costing $36 . I'd give it another try at night to see if it is any different.

I was looking forward to an exquisite evening for our wedding anniversary. We were welcomed by the staff who seemed to have difficulties finding our bookings. The food was well prepared and tasty. I think that what we expérienced could be an effect of the Covid19 outbreak. The staff with exception of two servers, were either inexperienced or not very well trained. As the restaurant boasted with so many accolades, I would urged the owner to save what he can. The food was very tasty. I take my hat off to the chef.

Prawn & Chorizo Pasta. The dish is flavourful, quite oily, but very nice and decent portion.

My husband and I were excited to enjoy a great seafood meal in our last night in surfers paradise before heading home and were very disappointed. Not with the food so much. It was the service. We sat down and ordered our entree and a drink each then waited. We had to ask twice for at least water to be bought to the table while we waited. Then our entree came out but no drinks. We asked the waitress who told us she would follow it up. Nothing. We asked again and by this point had finished the entree. Still nothing. We decided to order our seafood platter and another two drinks knowing it was a 20 minute wait for the main to come out and surely we would have had our first round of drinks by then. No. Our main came out with the two different drinks we had just ordered. When we asked about the drinks we ordered at the beginning of the night I was asked to present proof that we had ordered them. I had to show in my bank statement that I had paid for them. I thought this was so unprofessional. Also we had to ask for our entree dishes to be removed when they bought out the main. Then when we finished the main and the entree drinks finally came out at the end of the night ( slammed in the table, no straw in the cocktail and not even a sorry ) again no empty dishes were removed. Also for $300 for our meal for two people I would have expected to have the prawns peeled or at least lemon water to rinse our hands. It appeared every second table was having issues and the young staff just could not handle it. There needed to be a senior member of staff there to handle the situations unfolding. For that kind of money I would have expected much better service.

Let’s just say if I could give no stars, I would. We were shown our seat and that was it. No menu or explanation of how the kitchen worked. Extremely inconsistent service. All tables offered tap or sparkling- we were just poured tap and when asked for sparkling were met with ‘a face’ from the waiter. After 10 minuets of nothing, I asked for menus- and was told to scan a code on the table to order. I then asked if I could pay cash and was met with- ‘it’s too hard for us to write down orders’. Then old mate sitting next to us, gets a menu and is able to order through a waitress, just like the majority of the other patrons. Let’s talk about the food- the tasteless food. The best part was the fresh prawns because it was the only thing they couldn’t mess with. The chips had enough oil in them to sink the trawler they came in on. The bugs had zero taste like this star rating and scollops were deplorable. Our food came out all together and our water had to sit on the dirty floor as there wasn’t enough room. 0/5… NEVER EVER AGAIN!! Do not waste your time or money. local fish and chips could deliver better quality.

Where do I begin. All the staff seemed to be South American? Possibly working backpackers. Not that that really matters but the guy who took our order messed up twice. Couldn't even get the drinks right. He had no idea. We ordered the seafood platter which was the most expensive thing on the menu. We also ordered garlic prawns. They weren't very garlicy. We were given crab forks for the platter yet the platter contained no crab. There was no lobster. Most of the plate was filled up with fried calamari and way too many baby octopus which were OK. The bugs weren't fresh which was dissapointing seeing as they were the most expensive thing in the plate. The prawns were OK. The Scallops were the best thing on there. For the $ we paid I would have expected more. I was left underwhelmed. I don't think I would come back nor recommend the resturant to anyone else.

Situated nicely on the corner, it gives you a view of the street atmosphere Waitresses had exotic ascents, very friendly, mocktails were good Meal sizes for their pastas were small (but tasty), we left semi-hungry, and would recommend 1 or 2 entrees before mains

We had a 70th birthday here with 18-20 people and honestly could not fault the service for a second, they were so accomodating and lovely. We did send a steak back that came out still mooing but even when asking for it to be a little more done the waitress serving us was so lovely and apologized profusely immediately attending to it. Lovely staff, great venue and good atmosphere.

Great setting. The French lady who served us was exceptional. Friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. The food was delicious. We shared a few dishes and the food was fresh and delicious. The oysters were beyond compare. Really. The garlic prawns, octopus, chowder were very tasty. Value for money. Thank you.

Somewhat smelly, grotty, uncomfortable environment dusty cords along the floorboards and watery "seafood" flavourless fruit and stale wine... staff - travelling staff (backpackers -cheap labor) One feels dirtied just being there, it was tedious and zero warmth of atmosphere... never, ever again. A waste of money, there are so many better places to eat good seafood than this.

Had lunch here on Sunday for Mothers day. The staff here are amazing, great customer service! All mums were offered a glass of champagne on arrival. We dined in with our 4yr old. They have a pretty good kids menu. Food was so delicious except for the sirloin steak which wasn't great, very dry & tasteless hence 1 star less. Other than that we thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience here and will definitely be back again soon.

We had cold & hot combined seafood platter. The seafood was ok fresh. I found the cuddlefish a bit too rich, and got a upset stomach after the meal. The bugs were not much taste. Overall food was ok, not as good as we remembered, quite disappointed. But I understand the cost of the food has gone up. The staff were very friendly and service was good.

High quality service and delicious food. Husband and I had a hot seafood plate and everything was cooked perfectly - absolutely recommend this place if you are a seafood lover :) I even liked oysters killpatrick even though I normally eat natural ones. I will definitely be back.

Our meals came out quickly, but we were there at the very start of the dinner service. Everything was extremely fresh, cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. Our only complain was the flavour of the post mix drinks. Our first drinks were replaced but the replacements still weren’t great. This was the only reason we didn’t give it 5 stars.

Just had a lovely evening at this restaurant. The staff are attentive and friendly. I mentioned I needed gluten free food and they suggested that I could pick what I wanted and they would speak to the chef, they genuinely seemed interesting helping me find a meal that I could eat. The steaks were cooked as requested. Food came out in a timely manner. Had a lovely chat with the Polish waitress with pink / purple hair. Would recommend to friends and family.

Absolutely superb! Lovely setting with paid street parking across the road. Staff and service is excellent. Tried two new lunch specials and they were both mouth watering. A great menu with plenty of selection. A comfortable setting with a lovely outlook including indoor and outdoor dining. Wheelchair accessible. Very highly recommend.

This is the review I didn't want to write because I went to Yellowfin years ago and it was incredible. Unfortunately that is not the case now. If you look through my other reviews (I do a lot) you will see I reviewed the old Yellowfin 3 years ago and gave them 5 stars. We had the hot and cold seafod platter for 2 to share on Sat night, we booked fairly early and it was before they got busy so that can't explain what went wrong. The good: 1) Staff were attentive and polite. 2) Cold prawns were lovely but it's pretty hard to mess those up. 3) Scallops were awesome and cooked to perfection. 4) The baby octopus was some of the best i have had. 5) Apparently the oysters were nice, I am not an oyster fan myself but my dinner guest assured me they were nice. The bad: 1) We saw in review photos on here before that there were chips with the hot portion of the platter, we got none and when we asked about it were told we have to order them seperate. 2) The Blue Swimmer Crab, the meat was really dry, it was quite strange and I have never experienced this from Blue Swimmer before, not sure how that even happens. 3) The Lobster, I paid 60 bucks for half a lobster and we left over half of the serve because it was quite frankly the WORST lobster I have EVER had (and I have had a lot), it was so tough it was like chewing a leather shoe, it actually had a mouth feel of a tough overcooked sinnuey steak. Considering it was $160 for a sub standard platter then another $60 for an extremely awful half lobster, I won't be going back and I won't be reccomending Yellowfin to anyone. This really is a shame because the old Yellowfin was one of my favourite seafood restaurants in the area but this is simply not that.

Excellent service starting with a friendly welcome and timely requests for drinks. Food was great quality and ideal quantity. Live music added to the relaxing ambience. A very positive experience.

Yellowfin was the perfect choice for our anniversary dinner. The staff were lovely and we shared the delicious seafood platter. We topped off the evening with a couple of affogatos (plus Frangelico for him, Baileys for me).

We were looking for a restaurant that accepted dogs as our dining companions were travelling & had a labradoodle with them. This restaurant was very welcoming & happy for us to bring the dog along. They even brought out some water for the dog on arrival. So, great selection of drinks available & the food was fantastic & reasonably priced!!! I hadn't seen my nephew for over 6yrs & was meeting his finance for the first time as well as them meeting my wife for the first time so it was a special catch up for us all. Your staff were a credit to the restaurant, so friendly & inviting & the service was great!!! I am a local & work in the hospitality industry for a major company on the Gold Coast as a Concierge & I'll be recommending your restaurant to as many people as possible! Thanks again for your amazing hospitality & food & for making our evening one to remember. Keep accepting dogs into your restaurant, absolutely fantastic!!!! Thanks again from a very happy local who will continue coming back & send patronage your way!!!🐕🙂🦐🦑🦪🥩🍻🍹💙

We had a wonderful afternoon at Sage. The music was at a volume which allowed conversation without shouting. The food was first class, service was tremendous even though they were short staffed. I've had dinner here a few times, first time for lunch. I would recommend Sage very highly.

Lovely evening. Efficient wait staff. Tasty chowder. Enjoyed our seafood mains. Nice selection of cocktails. My vodka and lychee martini was served cold and was delicious. Music was a little loud to begin with, but it did quieten down after a while
