DO NOT RECOMMEND FOR FUNCTIONS!!! Horrible experience with this tavern for a 21st birthday - event starting at 6pm only given max 2 hours (from 4pm) to set up - no staff members came to assist, offer help or even give a general welcome/safety procedure on the event, who is the main staff contact of the night, emergency exits, ect - the functions coordinator Piper informed the set up party that the room wouldn’t be available until 4pm…then left without another conversation. The room was roughly set up how we wanted but communication with this staff member ceased at that point which left us alone for the majority of set up. - with set up from 4pm onwards, sound check happened around 5-5:30pm. Was told by a staff member to lower the volume because tavern customer were eating dinner. If given appropriate time to set up, we could’ve completed sound check while customers were not eating dinner. Better yet, a door/another sliding panel should be used to fill in the massive empty gap between the function room and tavern area - tavern has a noise cap at 10pm, so we comprised with the staff to complete our programme before 10pm. We were playing some final dance songs at 9:30pm when the manager on that shift Belinda told us to turn it down…despite the agreement of a noise cap at 10pm - during the birthday persons thank you speech to the guests, Belinda interrupted announcing to everyone the noise had to be lowered. Not only was this completely inappropriate and only repeated a conversation just had, but killed the mood completely, especially when Belinda walked out yelling “Jesus Christ” and was heard by everyone in the function. - Regarding more conversations with Belinda on the sound, a decibel reader was brought out which caught the sound reading in the appropriate range for that time period… On one hand, the young bartender Daniel was excellent, great customer service and hospitality! Such a contrast to the often cold, distant and inappropriate comments and actions by other staff members. As a paying client, the service and communication of the majority staff members was disappointing. A 21st birthday made special by the people attending, not the venue sadly.

After some unpleasant dining experiences I was hoping a good pub meal would do the trick and Benowa Tavern did not let me down. Easy online booking system and we’re seated quickly next to a rowdy group of lads so asked if we could move - no dramas at all. Ordering system is at the table via the QR code. Was told before searing that mains were 40min wait so ordered starters immediately. Oysters Kilpatrick were delicious. Got the chicken schnitzel for dinner and swapped over the salad with coleslaw. The slaw had a funny taste to it but didn’t ruin the meal. Hot fresh and delicious! Staff were friendly and efficient. Will be back

All round, pretty darn good! Food seemed a little pricey on the menu, but when it arrived the portion suited the cost. The steak was cooked perfectly! The calamari was cooked perfectly! The chips and prawns were just right. The salads were delicious!! There was a wait of about 40 mins between ordering and food arriving at the table, which is fine. Only reasons for 4/5 stars is because: 1. The waiter brought over two kids drinks after I ordered and paid for 3. I waited 15 mins then had to go to the bar to pick up the missing one. 2. The food off the grill tasted of old grease. Not horrible, but could be avoided with a clean. 3. The booking system reserved us a table, but when we arrived the staff had no idea and had to quickly clean off a recently vacated table with not enough seats. Good thinking on their part, but still an annoying adjustment for customers, having children sit on laps rather than their own seats. 4. The "online" menu has some pretty bad and confusing photography and descriptions. Otherwise a great night out!! Will come back again 😍🍔

We stopped for beers and a snack. Good venue for pub grub and watch the Footy. Large dining areas both in and out. Pokies, Keno and the usual betting games available. Also ATM on site. Wheelchair friendly. Kids play area available. We will be back.

The ambiance of this tavern is very welcoming, charming and kid friendly. The food is always fantastic and no matter what I order I am always delighted with my meal! Servers are also great, knowledgeable and always efficient. Always love coming here and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to eat in.

Nice pub food was okay. Great for children and free face painting the night we went. Mens toilet roof was dripping water tho and extremely long wait on food due to a function that was also on that was not mentioned apon booking. May return and update review another time.

Lunch was OK, but the back bar was not open. Ordering meals was like the old Coles cafeteria. It was quicker to get drinks from the public bar and then walk all the top the back. The saving grace was the staff. They were great. But just not enough of them. I think the pricing is a bit high for this type of facility. Other than convenience, I can't recommend it. Just average!!

We had a girls dinner and I made a booking before hand. The table was reserved. You need to order food and drink at the bar or from the table, but not all options were available on the app. Although the place was full (it was magic millions evening) we didn't have to wait for the food too long. The portions were good and everyone ate everything. It was a lovely dinner with friends.

First time my family have ever been here and we're all very disappointed. Our son got his meal within 15min of ordering, however my partner and I had to wait almost an hour for our meals. We were told they were really busy, (but others who came in after us were served) then we were told my meal (lasagna) took longer........then the meals come. My lasagna had hard crusts, my salad didn't even have any dressing on. My partner had a waygo beef burger and the meat was so dry he couldn't eat it. The floor manager Sharon was most apologetic and gave our boy a free icecream, and asked us to come back. But damage done. Did get partial refund.

Great lovely place for a relaxing meal, extremely well priced & lovely & helpful staff. Drinks are a very reasonable price and the 🍺 tastes great! Was my first time here & will definitely be back. 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

We arrived for a 70th party last Saturday. I'm a pensioner so we got 2 senior meals. Great value fresh and good sizes. David the Assistant Manager made me a lovely coffee then said its on the house! Belinda took my coffee to my table way out the back as she saw me spilling it a bit and said, " I'll take it for you ". What helpful nice guys these are! Kudos to you all there! We highly recommend the Benowa Tavern for its great food and great staff!

Had a wedding reception here Saturday night. Very impressed. Daniel behind bar done a great job. Food was very classy and a reasonable price for wedding banquets.

Fresh ala carte food. Delicious. The place was spotless. Very affordable too. The young chap who served us was delightful and courteous.

I enjoyed a lovely meal here with my family. We sat near the windows at the end of the dinning room looking out upon the deck to the water & surrounding trees. We all enjoyed the food. It was served quickly & the staff were very courteous. Great experience & we will definitely visit again soon.

Kids area is great. Feels like the restaurant needs a little bit of updating. Kids pizza was ok. Nuggets were a good portion. The burger my partner had was not the best. He said the Pattie’s were stale and didn’t get caramelised onions but the thick cut raw red onion instead. My Parmy was cooked well, had to ask to get pineapple on which seemed weird to them for some reason. Overall I doubt we will go back again.

Visited Friday 16th June Good points: spacious, good service and recent improvements to decor. Can still order food at counter instead of the stupid app that makes you put in a tip before you can pay (would not tip this meal). Negatives - very rowdy children with clueless parents, average menu, no crumbed fish option, veal "special" was disappointing with small piece of meat, though friends piece was bigger. Don't feel like the more expensive options are worth it either. No love in the food prep unfortunately.

Had my daughters 21st birthday party here on Friday night. Staff and venue was fantastic. Room looked amazing and can’t thank everyone enough. So friendly and polite, nothing was too much trouble. Thank you to everyone 😘👏👏👏

Friendly staff only downfall was mixed answer if we could use a type of reward card nearly walked out over the missed communication other than that food was tasty (cheeseburger could have had more salt and sauce. Rump steak was perfect. Will probably be back

We had our wedding reception here and it was AMAZING! Piper and the incredible team were delightful to work with and hosted such a fun night. The food was delicious and the venue itself was so spacious. Couldn’t recommend them enough, thanks again.

The beer garden is stunning. Peaceful, green, calming - we love it! The food was quick and super tasty. Staff are friendly and helpful. We just moved here and after one visit, we are content we’ve found our new local! You’ll see us again, thanks again!

Starting to try a few of the Taverns outside the usual. This place is a great example of an ALH pub. Great menu, sports and gaming.

From the moment we arrived it went down hill. We had a booking for 7 and was seated at a table for 6. We had to sit on the corners of the table. We ordered Garlic bread which came out approx 1/2 later. Yes it was busy but the orders were not going to the correct tables and the wait staff were getting very frustrated and even vocal. Not nice to watch. After another hour we were asked how we enjoyed our meal. Sad to say we were still waiting for it. We noticed some people getting refunds and leaving. Finally our meals arrived. Unfortunately they were very average and certainly not worth the wait. We will never come back and would not recommend this place to anyone.

Had a wonderful experience at benowa tavern, I took the kids with me there was plenty to keep them occupied and the food was amazing, personal shout out to staff members James and Tirane for there excellent service and positive attitude 🙏🏼 Will definitely go again

Terrific service from staff. Seated immediately & clearly explained the QR ordering from the table. App didn't allow for meals to be customised, but staff were more than happy to help & let the kitchen know the changes we requested. Pleasant, relaxed atmosphere with nice outdoor terrace area & lovely nature surrounds with a good kids playground & delicious food.

This is a great place to eat and enjoy. Staff are very helpful and friendly. We have had the slow cooked pork ribs twice now. They are to die for. Thoroughly recommend this tavern, it is very clean and has a great ambience. Food is very consistent.

My friends and i came in Saturday for a drink and the service from Piper and Kirra was amazing! They made us feel so welcome. The food quality was great and the service was so fast! Would definitely recommend Benowa Tavern to everyone, will be back for sure!

Fantastic place for a nice relaxing drink and a decent quality meal! Was there for a work party and it was rather nice ! Enjoyed what I experienced ! But the highlight is THE STAFF MEMBERS So friendly ! Very helpful and very nice personalities! To the boss who trained them all should be very proud of themselves! So congratulations to you who is reading this and is a manager ! Very nice place to go to !

Had a birthday here recently. Good food, nice big spaces and catered for what we needed. Special shout out to Daniel at the Terrace Bar. Good service and very attentive. 😊

Good space, food good, kids play ground, family friendly. Book over weekends/for groups so you can get a table. Staff are unfortunately average, seemed too busy or training and slow. 45 min wait on food.

I choose that place for my son’s birthday and it was amazing choice! The food and service was fabulous. I would like to big thank specially for Leticia, Ella, Jolene and (I forgot the guy with curly hair) he was adorable!

Met with Jolene today to book in a function and was very impressed by her friendly professionalism and the venue's bright and airy Terrace Bar. This area can be closed off and it spills out onto a terrace that overlooks the river. Floor to ceiling windows give a nice open feel and their sound system is sharp and clear. Very much looking forward to partying here next month.

Simple meals, reasonably priced, kids play area what more could you want. Plenty of options on the menu, food was hot when it came out, presented well, tasted great. Kids banana split came on a plate, banana just wanted to slide off it when being cut/eaten

We had a nice afternoon with family. Meals were good and staff very friendly. Only criticism would be that the eating area lacked atmosphere, possibly needs a little bit of lasy middle of the road live music happening in the background but all in all a nice venue.

This is a must stop while you are in the Gold Coast. Outstanding food and serving. Very accommodating and made sure we had the best time. Belinda the manager was amazing and very kind to us while we were here. 10/10 would recommend

Shared a meal with the family at Benowa tavern. It was easy to park which is always a bonus. First impression upon entry was how clean and spacious the dining areas are with options for inside or outside dining As we were early we decided to buy a drink and sit outside. The area looks over the river and is very serene and peaceful. Once the family arrived we went inside and ordered. The process is simple just scan the menu bar code on your table and order what you wish to have. The food was fresh and delicious. I had a steak burger that was made on a soft Turkish roll and had bacon and egg on it as well, the meat cooked to perfection, very tasty. All meals were delivered to the table hot and ready to eat. Everyone enjoyed the meals The staff are extremely efficient and friendly. I did not know about this tavern and have now told friends about and we will return Go for a meal or a drink and check it out, you will enjoy it.
