We were looking for a place to eat Saturday night 19 Feb 2021 and it was getting close to 8pm so we thought we would call in and try it out. I had chilli prawns and the wife had grilled barramundi. Food was quite tasty and we'll presented considering how late we were. Atmosphere, not sure wasn't very busy but ok. The bistro was clean and modern and staff were friendly. Pokies is were most people were but found it uncomfortable don't know why but just had that feel. Food 8/10 Atmosphere 7/10 Cleanliness 8/10 Prices 9/10 If you after a cheap pub meal this is for you, it's not bad but not great. Would I go back, not sure. Most of our meals were good, however the kids nuggets and chips ($10) had 7 nuggets and 8 chips! We asked about it and the girl said it was up to the chef on the night and didn’t offer to check. The steak was supposed to be well done and was pink in the middle. The other meals were good.

I wouldn’t even classify the buffet as food. The only edible thing was the watermelon and hot chips. We went there about 6 years ago and remembered the food was pretty good but went there last night and you seriously couldn’t eat majority of it, absolutely disgusting. Didn’t even have soft serve for the kids. Deserts were stale and yuk too. The only positive thing that I can say is that the staff were really friendly. I don’t often write reviews but the food was that bad .

Under no circumstance should you pay for the buffet here. Apart from a few select items, the food lacked any quality and in some instances was downright disgusting. I waited an hour for them to bring out some fried rice and it was tasteless and poorly cooked. If it weren't for an okay dessert selection, I would have left hungry. No matter which way you cut it, it's poor value for money unless you're happy to shovel flaming garbage into your mouth. On the other hand, I had lunch at the sports bar food and it was a very different experience. The food is quite good and the service warm and welcoming. Long story short, stick to the sports bar, not the buffet.

Buffet is good value for money. Mostly continental food with a bit of Asian food. Dessert has its own table! Dinner is more expensive, but has expensive food such as prawn and salmon. Friendly and attentive staff. Clean and spacious dining area.

Went with a work colleague and had lunch it was well priced and tasty. Had a couple of beers as well. The only down side is the smokers get to sit in the quiet out the back overlooking the creek, meanwhile the non smokers are out the front sniffing the freeway exhaust fumes. Apart from the above I will be back. It does have a certain charm and the staff were super friendly.

Advertisement says buffet is still operating 7 days but it is only the weekend. People were walking up to a closed area then seeing the sign still giving opening times. They also googled ahead to make sure it was open and offering buffet. We stayed and dined in the bistro that is amongst the sports bar patrons. Staff flat but meal was nice

Good local pub with reasonably priced meals. Friendly staff. Great lunch today ,(18/12/21)at reasonable price. 300 gram fillet with a side of garlic sauce bugs. Yum. Update 29/12/22 : I have included the current Sports Bar lunch and a la carte menus. There is also a daily specials board behind the bar which always has a 250gram rump with chips, salad and choice of sauce for $15 at lunchtime (I don't think the $15 rump is available for dinner but could be wrong).

Love my local but called in today for lunch ordered the $15 lunch special chicken schnitzel the crumb around the chicken was so thick then when I found the chicken inside it was so thin it was disgusting it was like 2mm thick of chicken to 5mm thick of crumb and they really need to change the oily and tasteless salad dressing. Staff are awesome though especially Kaz..

My wife and i both agree the Salty is a terrific bar and restaurant, weve been regulars for several years now. Modern design with relaxed old school service, always respectful and professional with meals we always enjoy. Last week i accidentally left my wallet on the bar and had no idea id lost it till early evening when i needed it. When i called the bar i was happy to hear my wallet was safe and sound with cash untouched (which i never doubted) Great staff and great patrons, love the Salty.

Absolutely horrible! Yes it’s cheap for lunch but still not worth it! Food is not great at all. The young girls were lovely and friendly, however the old lady was just rude from the minute we arrived! She said abruptly and aggressively with no smile or any friendliness at all, “do you have a booking?” My daughter said yes we do, then the old lady rudely said to the young girl do we have a large booking? And guess what we did! Still not one bit of happiness from the old one!. They were turning multiple people away saying they are booked out, when they clearly weren’t! (Only a third of the tables were taken) we were there for 2 hours definitely not booked out! The old lady was extremely rude to everyone including my grandchildren and another elderly lady on another table who was just simple asking where the sauce was! She should not be in customer service at all! if you don’t like your job maybe it’s time to leave! I would hate to find out my staff were turning away perfectly good paying customers for no reason!!

Great food. Good value. Wide choice to have. Got to get there early otherwise the food goes very quickly. But good value for money. Dessert was great.

We used to go there and it was absolutely amazing food, price, service was great. We went there last night 26th March 2022. We found out new owners well we were not impressed. No bottomless drinks No make your own burgers and only 1 choice of gravy. The food was either warm or cold. So I don't think we would go there again I'm afraid. We think the price has gone up, we didn't mind paying the extra cash for bottomless drinks.

Bistro food during the week was very good. But wish I had read the reviews of all you can eat. Confused dishes, quality very very low, more or less just slopp.

Great little pub between Beenleigh & the Gold Coast. Just off the highway if you need to take a break and get a bite to eat and it is also dog friendly which is always a bonus for us with our dogs. Has a typical pub menu with a reasonable variety to choose from at a very affordable price. The house wine was very nice and at only $20 a bottle was another bonus. The staff were very friendly and bought us a bowl of water for the dogs. Highly recommend.

Booked for 7.30pm buffet dinner service. Started well. Food was nice enough given the price. ...BUT... some of the dishes were empty when we arrived and not replenished. We were being rushed by 8.15pm and food was being taken away. There was a group of 10 so we were enjoying the chat and didnt want to be rushed. Also the Pumpkin soup was situated where the deserts were so my mate inadvertantly pours it on his icecream thinking it was caramel source...who puts soup on the desert table?

First time here .friends suggested the visit. We had the buffet. Food was very good . A good variety to satisfy all tastes . Staff were friendly ,cleared our table regularly . Very good selection of deserts . Good value for money Would certainly recommend it .

So I would give the buffet 3 stars but the sports bar bistro 5 stars, so I went with an overall 4. The buffet is good, but the food isn't always the freshest. Service is always good. We stopped at the Sports Bar bistro on a public holiday as the buffet was not open. No surcharges but no $15 menu. Fine by us. I paid $85 for a family of 4 to eat and it was terrific food. Other members of our group all loved their meals and no 2 of us ordered the same thing. For once, I saw everyones plate completely finished. The food had lots of flavour, was fresh, beautiful presentation and fantastic service. We were extremely happy with our lunch choice!

Would not recommend going here for the buffet. Considering I was here upon lunch opening, the food was almost stone cold which is disgusting. None of it tasted good anyway. I would definitely go to another buffet. Don't waste your money here.

A nice buffet lunch, even though drinks are not included. A good selection of foods, from soups and salads, to seafood and desserts. Staff were friendly and efficient but not as exceptional as I've come to expect from similar venues. There was always a vibe that they're just doing a job rather than being there to service the customers. That makes a big difference to the dining experience. The venue itself is nice and the price is relatively cheap, so if the choice of food is your priority, then I'm sure you'll love it!

Buffet was very nice. Lots of food, lots of people too Bar freezer on top of bench bit dangerous though, when you opened the door you almost pulled it off the bench.

Have been meaning to try here since moving to the area. Finally did. Was very happy with the quality of the food. Prices were great value. Lacked a little atmosphere, but overall a great experience and will return.

An unpolished jewel of a place to eat or meet up with family n friends. All basic surrounds but if you are looking for a good feed at the best prices this is it. Easily feed a family of 4 for under $80. Highly recommended and staff are awesome too.

Decent buffet selection and includes seafood. The foods not 5 star, but fairly on par with most buffets. The staff were all fantastic and very friendly and helpful.

Absolutely love the food here. Favourite thing to order is the steak and fish & chips. Some food items are cheaper than other taverns which is so good for me and my family of 12 lol. Kids and grandparents love it when they come here. They also have a buffet on friday,sat & Sundays but I prefer the sports bar. Miss the pork belly but now they don't serve it anymore. Drink prices are great. Friendly staff and love the fact they have poker here too.

We were greeted nicely by staff, having a late Mother's Day seafood buffet lunch at 2. Complimentary champers for the mums was nice. I'm not a seafood eater, so will not rate that, no complaints from hubby, though. 2 roasts were on the go beef and pork, which was moist and tender. Did only see one gravy, though. Roast veggies were good. There were plenty of dishes to choose from, but I think kids need to stay away from the servery. Food was always replenished. There were no whole dinner rolls, only slices, and there was no ice cream machine. The lil tubs of ice cream weren't that great. There was plenty of lil slices and cakes to choose from. Used plates could've been taken away quicker. All staff were very friendly and we had a very nice afternoon.

Had dinner in the sports bar tonight, it was our first time dining at Saltwater Creek and I must say I was impressed. We were a little put off at first due to the bistro being closed but all the staff definitely made up for that, the ladies on the bar where very welcoming and helpful. The food was delicious, well cooked and large portion sizes. We will definitely be back to have another go of the menu.

Honestly, the buffet hasn't changed over the years. Value for money is 10, quality of food is 1-7. 3 stars is generous, its because the staff hold genuine gratitude and respect, except for the chefs, they don't have high standards of themselves unfortunately

Went today 27th may 2022 got there at 12.15. Food was Luke warm most dishes just had little or nothing in them talking about hot dishes. The whole time we were there only one dish was topped up. Absolutely disappointed. Desserts were just about empty some were just the empty places there. If went just for salads u may have been happy. Not for us won't be going back.

Ladies from Tranquility Gardens had lunch today and what a delicious feast. The servings, main and dessert were huge and nicely cooked, staff were lovely. Thank you all!!
