Great old style pub with great meals and reasonable prices. Don't miss this one well worth a look.

LOVE this little Gem at Alberton. Not far off the highway from the Yatala exit just up the road from Yatala Drive-in. The atmosphere was great, particularly as it was a Sunday with live music. Squeeling Pig Sauv Blamc at a reasonable price $32 for the bottle. My group were happy with their meals in general, however, could be more generous with the toppings for the nachos and more than only one pepperoni per slice of pizza for a Pepperoni pizza was disappointing. The staff are friendly and good to see the place well staffed and not understaffed. Oh and there were a number of meat raffles which is always a bit of fun. And you can become a member too! I definitely will be back! BONUS: Ford classic cars were having a run and ended up there. The place ticks so many boxes!

Just like it's name - a gem. Staff friendly and welcoming. Food is wonderful. We had Atlantic salmon and a small garlic prawns. Good range of wines. Situated not too far from the hustle and bustle of the Gold Coast it is easy to get too and we will definitely be back. Free membership will get you great discounts.

They put on a Melbourne cup lunch which was outstanding. We ordered a seafood plater. Hot and cold, enough food for the 3 of us. Very tasty. Everything was fresh. Bugs, prawns, oysters. We have stopped in now and then over the years for lunch and dinner. Food has been tasty each time.

Cannot review the breakfast food. Online advertising open for Sunday breakfast, 8th Oct, 8am till 10am. I arrived at 8.05am, awaiting the arrival of a further 6 family members, closed, whaat, waited then tried the door again, locked. I went back to my car and rang my daughter, at the same time a Ute pulled up, Lady passenger got out and went and tried the door, still locked, they drove away, I informed my daughter and son in law to not waste their time driving here because they aren't open as stated. Oh, and we all know about the rodeo the night before

Great atmosphere had a real vibe with live band playing 🤩 Service was exceptional had honestly the best waiter DAN he was super helpful and accommodating - great old school Service ! Food was absolutely delicious - overall a really lovely night for myself and family!! Thank you Gem hotel !!

Fab place to eat, its always clean and the food here is 10/10. I was a bit disappointed they changed their menu but i understand that they need to cover their costs. Happy to pay that little bit extra and get a really decent pub feed. Also the membership program gets you discounts which is awesome. Best pub in the area.

Hadn't been to The Gem for many years and when I saw a good review about it ,I thought I'd give it another try.Great atmosphere from the moment I arrived..Sat outside in covered verandah..I had the special of the day,Beef burgundy wellington ..Was perfection ..Also had the Baked Camembert with chilli sauce for entree,just devine..The menu looks great and I'll be back for sure..

Reasonably new to the area, first time for lunch & impressed. Country pub feel, outstanding cleanliness throughout I noticed & food was delicious. Membership card wasn't produced in time to obtain discounts on first visit 🤔 but hope to use it next time.

It's like a country pub.. that's not really in the country.. 😂 has multiple areas. Has an old rustic feel to it. Has an outdoor area for rodeo?? Or whatever else that may go on there. Was very busy day I was there.. friendly staff and patrons

We have been there many a time and have had nice food and service. But last night the bar staff seemed pre occupied with others and my wife ordered seafood supreme small piece of fish 2 prawns 2 mussels lots of taste less sauce half cooked chips salad for $34 dollars was pretty bad maybe time to try other places

We have been members of the Gem hotel for 5+ years but haven’t been for awhile. Wanted a nice steak meal, not a good steak selection now and very pricey. When the meal arrived the ‘tender’ filet mignon (as written on the menu) was tough and very small for the price they charged, also questionable on whether it was the correct cut of meat?? (What they didn’t realise was the gentleman I was dining with was an ex chef, so he would know) Very disappointing as they used to be value for money as well as great meals. If they are going to charge top prices, the meals need to match - not top price for a sub standard meal. Unfortunately we won’t be back. There needs to be a big improvement for the Gem restaurant to be at the same standard that it used to be.

Thank you so much for the most beautiful Seafood meal I had there today at lunch. The Mussels Prawns fish and the sauce was out if this world. Top marks to your chef and your staff go beyond the best. I will certainly be back. Top marks to you all.

Its been 20 years since we last went to the Gem ( Night before weeding). And the food was amazing, the steak sandwich and Gem burger where so nice. The place looks so pleasant and relaxing. Well done Gem 💎

Is a great little pub . I did prefer it the way it was many many years ago but still a good pub. Didn't have meals but menu looked ok.

Always a great vibe here with live music on. good quality food at a good price. Won't disappoint.

Was there Friday we ordered the rump and salad....expecting the meat to be over cooked like most places..... but rump was cooked med ... perfect chef thank you for the good experience 👍

The staff are always friendly and very accommodating with small requested changes on the menu. Food is really good!

Been pretty disappointed with the food here lately. Used to be a great pub to come to with great deals but not now. It feels very expensive and the food is pretty average at best unless you want a steak

Was going to be the new local for me and a few colleagues, but after going 3 or 4 times realised it was not for us, very stinky with all the smoke blowing through the door constantly, 30 degree days but air con was turned off because the little dork barman with glasses said its to cold for him twice this week! We just wanted some where to cool off after a hot days work but unfortunately its not this place! Every single pub in qld besides this one on hot days has the air con on!

just beautiful food, great country atmosphere, welcoming to trade people, truckies, family, and business lunches, would tell anyone and everyone about this pub, there is a gaming room aswell

First time going to this country pub for lunch with a friend. Had steak, salad and chips for $18.00. Steak was cooked to perfection. Friendly and helpful staff.

Food was OK but was ignored TWICE by bar staff while they served others that walked up. I was neither drinking alcohol nor rude. Poor service.

I Love The Gem Hotel, Fantastic Service, Great Vibes and the Cuisine provided thereof by the Restaurant is that near of Michelin Star Chef Quality, thereto becoming a Member provided me with prudence of Finances as due Excellent Concessions of Drinks, also the live entertainment that I have experienced upon the Sunday Arvo sessions is always Brilliant, the only regret I have is not being able to frequent the Gem as often as I would like as due the distance I have to travel to specially visit, The Gem is a Beautiful get away from the hustle n bustle, the Vibe is Friendly and Welcoming by the locals and moreso the staff and Management comprising this establishment. The place has been renovated, looks really good. The meal was nice but my enchilada was burt on the end. Plus i got coffee & cake and my drink was brought out straight away,not at the end of the meal. My hubby got 6 oysters killpatrick said they were really great, and a 1/2 rack of ribs and said it was nice. Id definitely go back.

Really excellent service. All the staff were friendly and efficient. Food was terrific and well presented. Even the piercing squeal of the child on the next table didn't spoil our enjoyment . Looking forward to our next visit.

Nice warm atmosphere. Wedges very nice. Chai latte tasted like warm milk and was cold. Not happy about that

Ordered the garlic prawns and cheese garlic bread with mushroom gravy. Gravy tasted like normal mushrroom gravy but could have been more creamier. Garlic prawns were lovely 😍. The only thing I would say is that the staff are not so lovely

Busy place!Food and Service was great all a customer want.

Had the seafood basket. All of it seemed like frozen stuff tossed in the deep fryer. The other people having fish and chips had proper pieces of battered fish where the basket battered fish seemed like frozen fish fingers. Also the 'scallops' seemed like imitation scallops. The service is good here and they did offer to make me something else, but the quality of what I was served will stop me from heading back.

Wow what a great pub. The food is amazing with impeccable service. Amazing range of beers on tap. The staff here from the bistro the the bar are all friendly and great at what they do. Highly recommend this place for a great time
