Let me start with positive - food was great as always. Quality of food here never disappointed me so far. Let me justify why I am scoring 2. People go to restaurants for the experience - experience of good food and more importantly experience of service. Service is where it fell short significantly. Not blaming the staff but this is an oversight by owner for putting 2 brand new staff on floor on their first day and that also on Friday night. They we’re clueless. I raised my hand few times to make order and girl comes in saying let me look for note pad then she was just walking around attending to empty tables picking up towels (no kidding). Finally guy came in to take order and he didn’t even ask what spicy level we wanted, I had to go back to counter to rectify. Then we asked for some cutleries from the girl and same thing happened again, walking around the room doing nothing really instead of getting us the spoon. Orders came out and rice was missing, never got served. When I went to pay, the guys was still going to charge me for rice. Told him you forgot to serve rice and he didn’t even bother to apologise. Poor experience. My parents came over from UK and I took them here raving this place is better than UK indian food, while food lived it’s standard, service was a let down.

Had trouble scoring this place as there was some bad and some great aspects to this restaurant. Staff were wonderful, very friendly and welcoming, service a bit slow, but this seems the norm in most places recently due to staff shortages. Samosas for starters were divine, fresh tasty and great portion size. Mains we had Butter Chicken, Lamb Rogan Josh, Channa Masala, Rice and a selection of Naan and Roti. The Butter Chicken maybe a bit sweet but was tasty and very tender, Masala was delicious, breads were obviously freshly made and really nice, our main let down was the Lamb Rohan Josh, meat was very tough and the curry sauce was fairly tasteless and a watery taste to it, not the rich robust sauce you would normally expect. All in all a good experience and enjoyable evening, live music which was fun, personally I wouldn’t order the lamb again. From my experience I’d say a 3.5 star, can’t do that so gave them a 4.

Poor quality food, less quantity and too late to serve (around 1 hour waiting for just a butter chicken and roti. Don't know if they were growing chicken from egg to make the curry. LOL). Severely disappointed. When asked when the food will be served, the waitresses had lame excuses. Never ever will go again.

Poor management and understaffed. The waiters were friendly and apologetic as we waited over an hour for our entree to be served. For the prices and quality of food we expected more. Clearly something is not right behind the scenes. For the location we expected better. They did not get the basics right. The owner needs to reconsider why they are in the business of serving food. A passion for quality food and service needs to be re-established.

Best Indian food on Gold Coast. We asked Chef to serve the food of his choice. Words are not enough to appreciate the food quality. However, the food is a little pricy but once in a while, it is worth spending. For five people, we got two starters, one vegetarian and one none vegetarian. Four mains, two vegetarian and two non-vegetarian. Three type of naan-bread, plain nasn, garlic naan and rumali roti. Everything was made and served with love ❤️. Congratulations to the whole team 👍 Big thanks to both Chef's 😊

We had a booking at Saffron for 7pm and arrived on time, took about 15 minutes for our waiter to come around and start taking our drinks orders, by this stage we were also ready to start ordering food. After waiting an 1hour and 20minutes our drinks and table water finally arrived after going up to the bar seeing that our drinks were just sitting there. I asked if I was able to take them to the table myself and the waiters told me they would bring them over soon. Not long after the drinks arrived the entrees started to make it to the table (8:30pm). We ordered 3 different types of entrees all at the same time, they all came out at different times waiting approximately 10 minutes between each entree so no one could eat at the same time. More drinks were ordered in the interim, at the same time a table of about 20 loud men were seated beside us. Their food and drinks arrived well before ours even though we had been there at least an hour 45minutes before them. Although this wasn't Saffrons fault, the table was very rowdy and we couldn't hear anyone at our own table without yelling. Our next set of drinks finally arrived after we went up and ordered from the bar, the head on the beer was insane and we had to explain how to pour a beer (picture provided). After about 2 hours 10minutes at the restaurant our mains arrived (9:15pm). Lamb was dry and no one was overly satisfied with their curries and definitely ready to leave. When we went to pay they said they couldn't split the bill for us and we had to do it ourselves (not a big deal) they also asked how the food was and we told them we were really unhappy with the service and had well over an hour wait for food and drinks to arrive. The server laughed at us and didn't address the issue. We left at 10pm, after 3 hours, never to return again.

food was very tasty however portion sizes were pathetic!! cost over $200 for a family of 6 and guess what.... all still hungry! and we're not large people. bought it to the managers attention and his response was... yes there us about 4 or 5 pieces of meat per $28 dish. won't be back EVER.

Delicious food, beautiful restaurant (especially the outdoor lounge seating), and the service from Rohan was exceptional. The serving sizes are perfect. Highly recommend the Korma 🤌

It was a busy Saturday night in Broadbeach, we were fortunate to get a table at Saffron. It was a wonderful experience. We ordered samosas for starters, but were told they’d run out. Due to our expressions of disappointment, our server asked the chef to make us a fresh batch. That was so accommodating and was appreciated by our table. Well worth the wait. The curries were also delicious. There were lots of ‘oohs’ and ‘yum’ between the 4 of us. I highly recommend this restaurant, would definitely go back there if I return to GC. (We are from Adelaide, SA). The staff were friendly and very accommodating. Our one complaint, the wine was overpriced, in our opinion. But, we took it on the chin, and enjoyed our evening anyway. Thanks Saffron. 😊

Great food, as it always is. The service during our last visit was exceptional. A shout out to Rashana and team who entertained our toddler so we could have a few minutes uninterrupted to enjoy our meals. We made it before the mad rush and staff were under no obligation to entertain our little love, and we’ve never had that before, but it was so appreciated. Thank you.

It has to be the best Indian food that I’ve had, the staff are amazing. We sat outside and watched the sunset. Yes, there is a main highway in front, but once the lights on the surrounding buildings came on, it was very picturesque. The ambience inside the restaurant is very authentic.

We are new locals to the area - living only minutes from this restaurant - great a Indian restaurant so close but So Wrong on many many levels. It was a quiet Sunday night arrived at 5.50 one other table in the restaurant- told to Wait ! Not a great start - the waiter seemed stressed and gave the whole place a bad vibe. To cut a way long very drawn out dinner short in summary Waited for menus no wine list so didn’t bother Had to round up someone take our order Entrees waited 40 mins one was missing questioned the waiter where the other was - by this time one hour had passed Oh we don’t have that - who took your order our reply - you did The missing entree was potato cubes - no potatoes in an Indian restaurant ????? Then it was explained the entrees took a long time due to the cooking - they were both deep fried - I don’t think so We got up and left enough was enough - we had anxiety Both hospitality managers Not a pleasant experience at all

The Food was lovely BUTTT we waited at least an hour for our mains and we weren’t the only ones. It was quality food and I would go again but you need to have appropriate levels of staff especially for a busy Saturday night. For 150 dollars for two people the service needs to be on par with the prices that you’re paying.

Fantastic dinner, ordered some beef kormas, garlic naan and the lemon rice. Each item was probably the best I've had from any Indian restaurant, extra marks as it was takeaway. Only downside is the online takeaway didn't quite give an accurate time of when the meal was ready.

This restaurant is barred for life. We ordered takeaway at 5.10pm they advised it would be ready by 6.15 pm. We arrived at 6.30 they tol us they gave another client the wrong naan bread and would have to eat for fresh one 1/2 hour later. The customer came back with her order as it was ours. Disappointed never again they are hopeless and have no idea what they are doing . This business is doomed .

Expensive and disappointing service. We’re visiting the Gold Coast from NZ and we were excited to try Indian takeaways over here but were very disappointed. They didn’t have $42.20 change for $100 cash, so we had to pay the extra $7.80 via eftpos, and we were charged $0.10 extra for this (which is no biggie, only $0.10 but a bit ridiculous considering it was them who weren’t able to give change in the first place). After this we went to go back to our accomodation and had a look in the bag and realised they had given us no rice, when I thought I had asked for rice over the phone. Again, no biggie if they forgot the rice, so we turned around and walked back to the restaurant and let them know that we had not received rice. They then tried to charge us FIFTEEN dollars for 2 portions of rice! Not only were the meals almost $30 each, but we would’ve had to pay extra for rice that we had to have already walked back for from their mistake (which they weren’t overly apologetic for, either). We walked out and bought rice from a corner store on the way home. Very disappointed.

Ordered online directly on their site and paid substantially more than ordering through menulog. Of course I only found this out after the fact. My mistake but i thought that was a bit ripe. The food was beautiful. Sadly as per previous reviews. Smallest portion sizes of any Indian restaurant I have ordered from. $29.90 for a Rogan Josh with 5 pieces of Lamb in it is steep by any measure. I have had equivalent if not better curries for half that cost. Great food but not great value. $198 for 5 dishes and some naan and rice.

The service was perfect, I'll start of by saying that, but the chicken was dry, think of the sahara desert, drier than that, it also lacked favour, the dish I ordered was ladled spicy, tasted like boiled chicken breast in terms of flavour, maybe they consider salt sauce here, the char on the chicken was the only decent part, I believe they used chicken breast, I would expect a nice place like this to use a better cut of chicken, food did take some time to arrive but this was expected. Probably would recommend if u wanted to try good Indian food. The warm up microwave butter chicken from the refrigerator section at Coles would taste better. Terrible value.

Lamb chops were not good quality. Chicken tikka entree was good. Food took ages to come out. I think we waited about 30 mins. Even for a waiter to bring over a bottle of water was a long wait. The beef curry main course was excellent. Garlic naan was hard like a biscuit.

Food was of very poor quality. Swapped our ordered dish to another Wrong dish without notifying us. Was told owner will respond when we made a query but he never did. Very poor service. Never going back there. Food is way too expensive so we thought we were paying for a good meal. Instead it was very disappointing.

By far the worst fine dine experience in Australia. For the prices they charge the service should have been impeccable unfortunately judt the opposite. Many customers not just us had to walk to the counter requesting water. Food was super slow and didn't arrive together.some roti's arrived almost when we had finished the whole meal!!!If the restaurant is so busy please don't take more bookings that you find hard to manage!!! Kids left hungry cos they were too tired from the wait.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at saffron and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and attentive service. The ambiance was inviting and comfortable, with a hint of Indian cultural decor that added to the overall charm of the place. As for the food, it was absolutely fantastic. The menu had a wide variety of dishes to choose from, and each one was expertly prepared with authentic Indian flavours and spices. The portions were generous, and I left feeling completely satisfied. The prices were reasonable, considering the quality of the food and service. The staff was knowledgeable and attentive (the manager ⭐️), and they were more than happy to provide recommendations and answer any questions I had about the menu. Overall, I would highly recommend to anyone looking for delicious and authentic Indian cuisine. The food was amazing, the service was outstanding, and the ambiance was perfect for a memorable dining experience. I can't wait to visit again!

If you want Atlantic Salmon you’ll probably get barramundi. Great place to eat if the food comes out correctly. The manager is nice. The waitress likes to tell you what you order even though it’s not what you ordered. She would prefer to argue with you rather than find a solution to fix the mix up. Little disappointed with the way it was handled. Very unprofessional. Thankfully the manager came and offered to find a solution for the mix up.

Taste of the food is good and the staff were super friendly, but that is where the good stops for me. I dined here with my partner and young child and a couple of friends and although the wait staff were super friendly they took a really long time to even take our orders (30 minutes) we then continued to wait an extra hour for our food to arrive. In the meantime other patrons who had entered the restaurant to dine had their orders taken and food delivered before we had even had our order taken, I personally ended up leaving the restaurant before the food had even arrived as the wait was too long for our young child to handle due to tiredness. The restaurant were also taking uber eats orders as priority over dining patrons orders. In the end my food had to be put in a container and brought back to the hotel for me after my partner and friends had finally received and eaten their own meals. I have worked in hospitality most of my working life so I can understand the waiting for quality food but this was just poor service at the end of the day

This restaurant has good food and good service. The food is fresh and yummy. Biryani was cooked to perfection. Kebabs and chicken kadai were delicious. 4 stars because it is really expensive. Highly recommended if quantity and price is not a problem. Ambiance: 9/10 Food: 9/10 Price: 6/10 Service 9/10

I hosted my 50th at Saffron on Tuesday. I requested the private room for a dinner with 16 chairs. The room itself appeared to be a storage room with tables placed in the sides and white balloons strewn on the floor. There were candle holders on the table with no candles. The seating was set for 13 people instead of 16. So we were seated at 7.30 and the meals were completely served by 9.45pm which was a long wait. There definitely needs to be more staff in there as the chef seemed to be on his own. A very polite staff though.

Group of 13, I really wanted to sit in their main private room with the highback chairs, but forgot to ask when making the reservation. Arrived and the room was already set up for us...winning!!!. Food was absolutely on point! Drinks? Best apple Martini I've ever tasted. Manager/owner went out the back to get me specific whiskies as I didn't want any on the bar. Fantastic menu and helpful staff, even though they seem to be short staffed due to covid, but still doing a great job making up the gap. We will definitely be back. Dinner was on 17/1/22

Not impressed with our whole experience is a understatement. Waited an hour for food and when I went to check to see how much longer it would take I was told , " I thought you ordered takeaways not dining in". I booked in two night prior to dining in and we had already been seated at our table outside whilst waiting for our dinner. The food quality and quantity was very average not to mention it being overpriced. Ihave had

Amazing service food. We wanted to know how they got their coconut rice is so fluffy and light. The barramundi with eggplant curry it’s made with the freshest of herbs and spices and amazing - the staff catered to our dietary with utmost attention to detail. Highly recommend this place - price and meal size fair and good

The atmosphere of this place is nice, had some live relaxing music playing which gave it a nice vibe. The food itself was nice, but nothing phenomenal especially for the premium prices. The service was very average, when asking for recommendations from the waitress she said she does not eat this food. The food did come out quickly especially for a larger group.
