Great Restaurant with good food and service. May be a bit overpriced, but aspirations set by Restaurant seem high. We had Tempura Oysters and Tempura Squid as entrees. Both delightful, and one of the best tempura batter experiences in a long while. However with the Tempura Squid in particular, there was a definite lack of squid in the entree. It was there, but more for flavour than substance. My wife and I both enjoyed the Surf and Turf dish for our lunch. The most premium dish on the menu. It was an absolutely amazing sensation of flavours. From little flat outer solid sauces to the red wine jus, and the seasonings of each ingredient it was flavour rich, and all worked well. However, I felt the half of a Moreton Bay Bug and just the 2 prawns butterflied was quite sting with the “surf” half of the dish. Especially at the $72 for lunch dish price point. The caramelised capsicum and onions used to stack the seafood was perfect. The most disappointing component of the surf and turf dish was the turf. A Rib Eye steak, whilst appropriate in size, and cooked to perfection at medium rare, it was not the melt in your mouth type of flavour rich experience I would have hoped for and used to. Service was “slower”, but I felt appropriate for a leisurely “experience” meal. No feeling rushed to get out whilst the flip the table covers. A really good, solid choice. Although not the high contender we’d been told about and were hoping for.

Tried the new menu at Shuck and oh my goodness - it’s amazing! Starting with the oysters Kilpatrick the six oysters were huge with the perfect ratio of topping. The Waygu Bresaola was beyond delicious and very moreish. Pork cutlet schnitzel for main - yes it is on the pricier side BUT it is well worth it. Could easily serve two if you have entrees as the cutlet is MASSIVE. Honestly couldn’t fault the food at all and highly recommend you go and try the new menu!

As newly arrived locals we went into Shuck on Tedder for a drink at one of their two bars. We were rudely told we weren’t welcome - specifically I was told ‘we are having none of it’. We don’t want people coming to our bars and are closing them now. Would I dine there? Not likely. Go if you don’t mind rude and poor service

Waited over 40 minutes for our simple entrees Waited another 35 minutes for our mains. Ordered the fish special it smelt very fishy, not fresh, very dry, asked the waitress if fish was fresh she said she would ask the chef she came back and said chef said it was fresh in this morning. I was of the opinion they should then get another supplier. Didn’t feel well after eating some of that meal. Husband ordered fish of the day he commented it was not much better than fish fingers. We thought we were eating in a high quality restaurant with prices to match. We will NEVER eat there again. You have been warned.

All I can say is wow! I can never eat seafood again unless it's from this place. Best oysters I've ever had across Australia and honestly the best customer service I have ever experienced. I could not fault a thing! Thank you. ❤️

We came here for the seafood and their signature crab lasagna. It was absolutely amazing! Cooked perfectly and literally melting in your mouth. The lasagna sauce is so creamy and tasty that just makes you want more. Service is attentive and nice. Suitable for a date night. -> highly recommend

This place is the standard to judge good seafood by. Love the interesting things that pop up on the specials board. The wines match the food well and are not overpriced. Well done

The worst service I have ever had in my life . The Girl with heavy artificial cow eyelashes was only interested in showing her bossiness and checking our Vax status and asking us to check in when it was not even needed to be checked in . So we did all what she asked for but she wanted to show that she was the boss of the place and we were just her puppets. At least check out what you need to check. Such very bad trained and bossy staff ruined the whole restaurant which used to be not a bad one when we came there a couple of years ago . The restaurant was completed empty only two people sat in the bar for drinks there. This Rude , disgusting service will keep the restaurant empty even on the busiest days of the week as Friday and Saturday. Never go there again. I would not advice anyone to go to Shuck. Instead of it we went to a lovely restaurant Omeros Brothers Seafood restaurant . There best steak and seafood. Wonderful service. Beautiful view of the waterfront. I can give only munis star - 🌟 to the Shuck restaurants.

Literally had the slowest service so it wasn’t very relaxing as we kept having to chase up menus, drinks etc so that was a let down ( also wasn’t busy at the time and had a lot of staff on to support the flow of customers, they just seemed more interested in chatting to each other than looking out for the customers). Food was delish though pricing was maybe a little excessive. Very large portions on the mains, dare I say too big, maybe smaller and sharper price point would be ideal. But again, food was lovely.

I had been to Shuck in years gone by and found it pleasant. Last Tuesday I booked for 2 and arrived at 6:00pm. The restaurant was empty except for a few bar flys, a bored barman, two fighting staff and an obnoxious, disinterested waitress with too much makeup and too much attitude. We were asked to Covid register and were rudely taken to a table. My partner had forgotten her mobile and couldn’t register. The waitress told us to go home for the missing phone, took the menus and asked us to leave. We went to the nearby Thailand restaurant that was nearly full and enjoyed a wonderful meal. As we left we noticed that Shuck was still empty. The public is very discerning. I would not recommend that restaurant to any educated, discerning diner.

I must say that we decided to head into this restaurant with a little intrepidation only because we are from Hervey Bay and unfortunately we do not have restaurants with this kind of food or service. The welcome was genuine and after being shown to our seats we ordered. We ordered a serving of fish taco (to share) as an entrée and OMG how amazing. Such an amazing surprise of flavours. Beautiful. Main was King Prawn 'Tian' (hope I have that right). This was a combination of Prawns, avocado, macadamia nuts, caviar and micro herbs. Once again OM Goodness. The detail that went into this dish was impeccable. Right down to the placement of micro herbs and flowers. Thank you thank you. I haven't had food as good as this since Keith Williams owned Hamilton Island. Aaaah those were the days

Service was great from Stella as soon as we walked in. Every dish was superb and you can see and taste the effort the chefs go to delivering taste sensations. We tried here a couple of years ago and were disappointed, but now obviously under new management or owners it was seriously one of the best meals we have had on the coast. Well done everyone.

Jett is absolutely amazing how he shakes and stirs his cocktails. He livens up the place and gives it such atmosphere. He has a fantastic personality and is naturally funny. Such a true gentleman. Shuck is so worth coming in for a drink served by Jett.

Took my wife and kids here for her Birthday lunch last Thursday and wasn't disapapinted. The lobsters were nice but highlight for me was their crab lasagne with bisque. Absolutely delicious. Set in the Beverley Hills part of the Gold Coast definitely worth a visit. We will be back soon

Shuck: A Culinary Gem on Tedder Avenue 🌟 I recently had the pleasure of dining at Shuck, and let me tell you, it was an experience that left my taste buds dancing with delight! Located on the iconic Tedder Avenue in Main Beach, this restaurant is a true gem for seafood enthusiasts and steak aficionados alike. 1. Freshness Beyond Compare: The moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by an ambiance that exuded coastal elegance. But it was the food that stole the show. Shuck takes immense pride in sourcing the freshest local seafood, and their crab lasagne—yes, you read that right—is nothing short of legendary. The delicate layers of crab, perfectly seasoned and nestled between sheets of pasta, transported me to seafood heaven. 2. Sashimi Perfection: For sashimi lovers, Shuck’s signature sashimi plate is a revelation. Crafted using traditional Japanese techniques and condiments, it’s a symphony of flavors. Each slice of melt-in-your-mouth fish is a testament to their commitment to excellence. 3. Stellar Service: But it’s not just about the food; it’s the people who make the experience truly memorable. The staff at Shuck are attentive, warm, and knowledgeable. From the moment I walked in, they made me feel like a cherished guest. Kudos to the team for their impeccable service!

We had impromptu drinks with nibbles and the service and food was great! Particularly Jet and Stella were very responsive in accommodating our needs — with class and a great sense of humour! We recommend this place for fine dining and for drinks 🍹 and nibbles!

Fantastic restaurant with some great dishes. The oysters are a definite winner, especially the Oyster Tempura. Service is fantastic, the waiters and waitresses are very polite and observant. When we went it was a quiet night, and sitting outdoors was pleasant.

probably one of the worst restaurants ive been to on the gold coast. i have tried many restaurants in my time but this defiantly takes the top spot for horrible food. the service from the waiter we had was absolutely disgusting he was so rude and even rolled his eyes at us. the menu has maybe a handful of dishes to choose from, 40 for a basic fish and chips you can get from a takeaway place. oily and gross. i will never return to this restaurant after receiving such horrible service and i would rather eat mcdonalds then dine at this restaurant again. 0/10!!!

Terrible music, too loud and not appropriate for a restaurant of this style, staff don’t know the menu. Not a relaxed and enjoyable dining environment at all. Extremely overpriced for what you get. If oysters are supposed to be the specialty, the should be the best you can get but are not!

Good spot, has some great dishes (love the crab lasagne, but so rich too!). Service is good, staff generally great. Not that cheap but doesn't pretend to be and they do accommodate young kids. Fish is always well cooked and tastes good, never had a bad dish off what is a fairly small menu. Dropped a star as is fairly expensive, menu never changed in 3yrs as far as I know and a little limited. Can also often be full (esp at night) of some very drunk & rich pensioners, which can hog the atmosphere a bit!

Nice location, good food which was tasty and flavoursome, friendly staff who checked on our status as we went. Portions seemed a bit small, went away full enough to skip desert tho. Did seem a bit pricy for the quantity, could have been the general area it in tho. Limited choices on menu, meant a quick decision and no faffing about in the choice. 4 because of good and tasty food.
