LOVED our experience with the Island. The staff were super friendly and more than accommodating when it came to booking multiple rooms under one person. I would love to shout out Dene, Nate & Poulina for personally looking after our crazy booking - I’m sure they were over my calls back to back. The few downfalls were that there was only 1 elevator working at the time which took a very long time whilst waiting and that sometimes you will miss the turn into the hotel due to the tram lines. Other than that, we are so happy with our stay all thanks to the staff!

Had my wedding reception there in October during the storm. Jenna and Cassie were amazing. The food was great. They catered to a few last minute changes and all of our dietary needs and were able to control a Bangladeshi crowd! The food was amazing! Everyone loved it. We wish we had more time to enjoy it though!!! 10/10 would recommend :)

Pretty cool-looking hotel 😎 Staff was helpful, particularly at the reception. The pool is fantastic, featuring a really nice lounge area. Location is ideal, and rooms are modern and tidy. I do not recommend it for families, tho. Things can get noisy at the rooftop bar, and the gambling area can attract some pretty sketchy characters.

We have stayed at The Island a number of times over the years, however since our last stay the Hotel has chosen to cease to offer the room service that made us keep coming back. For e.g. there used to be a cocktail menu, food that was brought up was delivered on proper dishes rather than in pizza boxes, you could get ice buckets brought to your room, and you could order over the phone rather than through a QR code where it is billed to your card rather than the room. The staff that were there were fine but its clear the business isn't interested in staffing the hotel properly.

Service was great, the staff where lovely and very welcoming. We had no issues at all with our room, the bed was comfy and the shower + products were nice. We had burgers downstairs and they were huge and tasted great. The TV was nice for watching a movie in bed and they put us up on a high floor as requested so we could look over the city. It was a great central location right next to the train station and all the tourist things to do at Surfers.

Great view! We stayed overnight here. price wasn’t too bad in Christmas holiday week. Good location to grab some beer, lots of eateries. Close to beach good for walking follow beach at night Staff was really kind and friendly! Enjoyed a lot! Will come back this hotel!

Positives - Amazing location , great sports bar, funky roof top bar, delicious cocktails , live music, top shelf pub style food with wood fire pizzas and awesome atmosphere if you like fun and drinks. Negative- only 1 very small lift working out of 2 and staff said it’s been broken for months so sometimes a 10-15 wait at busy times ( fix the bloody lift), - As usual very young Australian girls working in the restaurant and bars are terrible at customer service BUT the awesome Sth American (Brazilian) staff were brilliant with the customers and entitled Australian girls could learn a lot from the Brazilians. The Island should just hire delightful international staff. If not for the Aussie bar staff the stay would be 10/10

The place and renovations were nice with modern rooms, great location and facilities. It is however above a bar and rooftop bar and it's LOUD! Music was playing until after 1am extremely loudly so sleep was definitely not an option. If you are hoping for an early night, don't bother staying here. I emailed management with feedback and received no reply and reception were uninterested in my complaint.

First Impressions: overall the overview of the front of the building is quite nice and presented well. Kept clean and tidy. Loved all the plants upon entry. What can be a bit confusing is having the reception up a few levels, accessible by the lift to the left and not located on the ground floor. Location: centrally located in surfers, Only a block from Cavil ave & a short walk to the beach. Rooms: First impression of the King Suite (pool side) is clean, spacious & beautifully furnished in a boho / industrial style, however some things to note: - The Kitchenette is limited to a microwave, toaster and a mini fridge (+ dishwasher) so if you’re creative you can make good use of it and have breakfast or snacks in room. However for the space it takes up the hotel could have made it more useful and included even a hot plate to allow more use of their facilities. - The windows appear to be single glaze so keep in mind the Rooftop Bar on the Terrace below is open Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday: 11am – late. On these nights the music travels up the building so don't plan on getting an early night sleep on these nights. - LOVED the high quality KM shampoo & conditioner. Parking: They do have limited underground parking on site, however we opted for parking at the Bruce Bishop Secure Parking complex just behind the hotel and it was much cheaper! Overall the hotel is beautiful & trendy. Just need to keep in mind on the weekends it will be awhile before you get to sleep because of the noise. Other tips: If you have the time, give the sports bar in the hotel a go! Great woodfired pizzas for a snack!

We arrived after a long day of travelling and having not eaten since breakfast went straight to the rooftop bar where we were told we could order from the snack menu. We ordered and paid for drinks and food and the kids started drinking their softdrinks while I waited for my cocktail and food. The bar staff made my cocktail and when I collected it they advised that the kitchen was closed and refunded my food only. We definitely would not have ordered drinks if we knew food was not available. We paid for breakfast in our room rate and upon ordering breakfast I was told that the children were only allowed to order the one item on the menu for "12 and under " despite one of my children being 14. There was no age specification for children when I booked the accommodation. The breakfast was nice, although the scrambled eggs were very oily. The suite was clean and the renovation tasteful, although everything was starting to look worn. Value for money was pretty good at $340 for one adult, and 3 kids with breakfast included. But they should probably specify what age constitutes a child if they're going to insist a 14 year old can't order from the main menu. And the staff should be more informed about kitchen times. The overall experience was soured because of these few issues.

We booked for the bottomless brunch. There was no formal direction or clear service upon arrival. Our server did not seem happy to be serving us. The music was good and if it was a sunny day it would have been so nice. Drinks were tasting good and food came out so slowly we were still hungry as we left.

Jenna's expertise and unwavering commitment made all the difference, and we couldn't have asked for a better guide through the planning process. The food and beverages served at our reception was far beyond expectations (we had canapes, a shared menu dinner and a carvery at the end of the night), leaving our guests raving about the delicious food. Rooms were very clean. The bed was very comfy. The TV had all the streaming apps needed. The staff at the restaurant were very professional and helpful. We had free breakfast included, and it was amazing. The lady at the reception was also very kind and helpful.

Everything was amazing 👏 So happy with our stay. A place that has all you need. Special mentions are Grace and Ben, certainly went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. Our room was beautiful also. Thanks guys, we'll be back.

We had our wedding in February this year. The wedding coordinator and staff were fantastic but unfortunately we got married on the top level and one of the two lifts were not operating. I recieved an email the day before and was told to tell all guests to arrive at 3pm but I wasn’t walking down the aisle until 430. There was warm champagne at the bottom level for compensation, for any guests at the hotel to have and none of my guests knew it was for them. Unfortunately it hindered the whole night with the lift and I missed an hour of photography and have no family portraits. I did reach out but never heard anything back. It was extremely long time for my guests to wait and again I was 20 minutes late due to the lift situation, so my guests were waiting for nearly two hours. Very disappointing to what should have been an amazing day

UPDATING REVIEW! Staff here are super lovely, experience was amazing. This place should honestly have 5stat reviews. They go above and beyond unlike any other hotel I’ve stayed in. I would come back to this place x10 times over going anywhere else in the Gold Coast. Central location, room service, cold & hot pool, restaurant, fresh food, bar, cleaners daily. I went and booked this last minute on a deal via Expedia and I decided just to be on the safe side to only book x3 nights at first. As soon as I got here I instantly regretted not booking longer upfront!

Spectacular Views from the comfort of your room. Amazing friendly staff members with exceptional service. Food was nothing short of incredible. Enjoyed every minute there and would definitely recommend without a doubt.

Stayed here for 2 nights for a wedding. Amenities were awesome, roof top bar, wedding venue, indoor bar, racing screen. Food was great. But if you like a peaceful stay or a are a light sleeper I would suggest not to stay here. Music goes until 12am. You can hear everything from outside ground level including people talking which sound like yelling. Venue is great for drinks, dinner and to hang out, even the wedding was brilliant. But getting a peaceful nights sleep you won’t get.

When we arrived for our brunch booking we were greeted with a smile and a delicious shot to start our experience off. We were running lightly late and there was no issue at all. The staff were hugely accommodating when we asked to move into the sunshine and the food and drinks came out straight away. The location is gorgeous and the sounds suited the chilled vibe. Would definitely recommend the experience to anyone heading to the Gold Coast for a good chilled Sunday brunch! 😊

We recently had our wedding here and our day was perfect! Jenna our wedding coordinator was a dream to work with and I can't thank her enough for what she did to bring our day together so perfectly. The food was incredible and the location for our guests was a massive win for us too! As a wedding venue- I can't fault this place! As for the rest of The Island hotel- it was gorgeous! Rooms were beautiful and the staff were great and a pleasure to deal with. The only downside for me was that the rooms were a little noisy at night, but you are in Surfers Paradise so I feel that is to be expected and my fault as I didn't think to plan ahead and bring ear plugs. So if you are staying here, bring ear plugs, otherwise I think you'll get a great night's sleep in the comfortable rooms. Thank you again to Jenna and the team at The Island Hotel! 😊

We had our wedding reception at the Glasshouse and stayed at the island. Thank you is not enough! Jenna and the team! Made our day happen and it was perfect! The service, the food, our stay, our day… it was so much better than we expected! We had a lot of delays and last minute changes due to our family situation but Jenna and the team worked with us and made it happen! We booked a room for our family and we also got a complimentary room included in our package.. and the team at reception… We so accommodating I could cry! Our rooms were amazing! Again! Thank you is not enough! For everything and everyone who gave us the best weekend!

The interior design is warm and comfortable, much nicer than a big chain hotel. Breakfast and cocktails were great. Dene the customer experience manager went the extra mile for our stay and it was really appreciated.

The twin suite was excellent; perfect for a girls getting ready area. Big enough for 4 to share comfortably. The pool was lovely and the extra bubbly section was super relaxing. The very friendly and helpful reception staff were great, and the mimosa on arrival after a long long drive was very welcome. Lunch at Goldie's was also delicious and very accomodating.

Check in staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Loved the refreshing Mimosa on arrival. Loved the modern styled rooms, everything was easy to use and comfortable. Don't forget to add all persons staying so they are included on the Breakfast list. Functions department need some restructuring of staff and more training. Function food was well presented, plentiful and deliciously enjoyable however extra attention to detail needs to apply for special food requests for people with food intolerances. Parking next door in Bruce's car park was very cheap and accessible. Highly recommend for fun time in Surfers Paradise.

Excellent service during my daughter’s 21st Birthday Party at the Pool Deck. Food was so good. The vegan and meat platters were well presented and tasted delicious. The bar service by Camilla and Mathew was excellent. Very approachable, attentive, efficient and friendly. Security was great with gate crashers and the atmosphere of the space just what my daughter wanted. Hotel receptionists efficient and the twin room suite had the space we wanted. This was the second family event we had at TIGC and we are now planning the third.

Wow what an awesome dinner and drinks. My partner and I went for dinner and drink on the 16/6/22 and the steak dinner was the best I've had in a long time. The cut of steak, how it was cooked, the sauce, chips...everything about the dinner was 10/10. Now the cocktails. The barman was great at recommending drinks and we had 4 of the best cocktails we've had in a long time

The Island hotel is absolutely fabulous for a party gateway. Located in a nightlife area of Surfers with easy access to various clubs. Room was spacious, nicely designed, clean and bed was comfy. Hotel reception staff were nice and friendly. The only downside was the loud music pumping from the pub downstairs till late night. No issue for party goers though….

My partner and I found this place on the ‘Places to go to in Surfers Paradise’. It was a great vibe- very upbeat and happy. Everything was reasonably priced and the food was definitely up to scratch compared to other bars around. We ended up coming here twice because we enjoyed it so much.

We wrote privately to their email listed however it has not been answered. My group visited for a lunch and we were extremely disappointed. The place was empty however the staff were less that hospitable, openly discussing how soon one would finish. In addition 3 of us ordered the same drink that was each served in a short, tall and pint glass resulting in 2 of us with smaller drinks. My meal was served last by 15 minutes. My groups meals were bland and one was burnt. When mine arrived I was beyond upset once I tried the burger as it was not enjoyable at all. Rather than endure I returned it for a refund. I wanted to resolve my groups complaints privately but our communication went unanswered. The ice cream across the road helped get the bitter taste out our mouths.

Loved staying here! The design of this hotel has so much character. The people that work here are super nice and are a great banter, from the reception, to the security and the bars. The hotel looks after it’s employees well as much as they do their customers from what I saw. It was so nice to wake up to a lovely buffet breakfast poolside! They had the works! - the only downside is there is no laundry room. There is a self serve laundromat around the corner but make sure to draw money out first at the ATM in the casino.

We visited here with a large group of people on a Sunday afternoon. Great location and atmosphere. The decoy is modern, finger food/pizzas were good. The DJ was good although sometimes would clear the dance floor with their choices in music. The let down was the bar. It took way too long to get service. The issue was when customers would order a cocktail tying up staff. When there were more than a couple of customers ordering cocktails, it caused long delays for other patrons which was quite frustrating. The other criticism is the accumulation of dirty glasses etc at the tables. Not sure if they were short staffed that day. Overall I would recommend visiting.

Brilliant location, room was clean and spacious. Cleaning staff were excellent and friendly. Not many spaces for car so ensure you book a space. Tram service just outside the door, no need for a car to get around, so close to everything.

I want to highlight and express my gratitude for the excellent experience I had at The Island. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm welcome by the staff, especially Grace, who was an exceptional hostess. The atmosphere of the place was cozy and elegant, creating a perfect setting to enjoy delicious food. The attention to detail in the presentation of the dishes and the quality of the food exceeded my expectations. Undoubtedly, Grace and the team of The Island made my visit unforgettable. I highly recommend this place!

The most incredible stay! I came for a wedding and it was beautiful. The rooms were so modern and boutique. The entire hotel was clean, and stylish. The staff were absolutely amazing!!! Every single staff I came across had a smile on their face and eager to help! I've never come across one location that you cannot fault. Amazing location too! 👌

We held a company event at The Island and we received amazing service, professionalism and hospitality in the lead-up to and during our stay there. Nothing was too hard for them. As we were making changes and finalising rooming lists, they were super patient and so accommodating (excuse the pun 😊). And during the event, everyone at the hotel made us feel so welcome and the rooms were lovely, super-comfortable, spacious and homely. We were in such good hands and everything went smoothly which was in no small way because of the great people at The island. And I know that if something had gone amiss they would have sorted it out. I look forward to returning to The Island . It was truly a delight to stay there and I definitely recommend it.

Went for a work function last night, great open set up with smaller areas to congregate in. Trendy decor, comfortable lounges, the staff were the highlight to be honest, I know works is work, but they looked happy being there. big thanks to the waiter that served our group with detailed description of the canapes, which were amazing, mushroom dish was incredible. It's location was interesting, tucked away from any traffic, so felt very private and exclusive. Look forward to next year's party! I'd recommend for work functions, definitely.

We had our wedding at the Island and it was absolutely incredible. The venue was perfect in the penthouse room, the service we received from Jenna and her team was outstanding, as well as the rest of the staff. The areas for photography around the building were great as well. It couldn’t have gone better! Kudos to Jenna and her team.

We had a wonderful stay here After checking in to the Hotel near by that was disgusting. We could not stay there Thankfully The islands took us in after midnight as we checked in to the other Hotel around 11pm. The night manager was fantastic he Helped us out so much that we will definitely be coming back to stay here. Plus the hotel, restaurant, pool, lounge area and the rooms were beautiful and everything was great the staff were lovely and helpful. Our time there made our hoilday fantastic.

Rooms have been refurbished and renovated. It's perfect. However, apart from the rooms, the walkway looks and feels spooky, and the lobby, etc, needs to brighten up or put a fresh look to it. No more shower cap on a Wednesday night is a bit disappointing.

If you're looking for a place to stay on Surfer's in the heart of the all the hype and activity this place is a great option. If you're looking for a quiet place to stay on a Saturday night, check other options! We got upgraded to a larger room which was great, renovated, modern, and even has a kitchenette with a couple free snacks and tea, coffee, toaster etc. Free welcome drink on arrival was a nice touch. However the windows are not double glazed so warning - it is noisy as hell! Particularly on a Saturday night where everyone is out partying (perhaps it isn't so bad mid week). The location is good for walking to the beach, shops, restaurants and cafes. Would stay again mid week if perhaps I was a bit younger!

Stayed there on a Friday night, the music from the hotel rooftop bar was so loud, and didn’t stop until midnight, and was the reason we slept terribly at this hotel. It would have been nice to have been told about this so we could avoid booking. It’s obviously a known issue that the staff are aware of based on the other reviews that have responses from the hotel. Everything else was great, including the staff. Would not recommend this place unless you’re planning on partying until midnight or later each night.

I recently attended a sales awards conference here over 3 days with 60 plus people. It was an amazing time. The facilities were great - from our spacious hotel rooms to the conference rooms to the restaurants & roof top bars. The food was scrumptious and plenty of it. The staff were also very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. Thanks for making our time so memorable

This place is fantastic. Affordable and comfortable. The staff were absolutely wonderful, including reception and the bar staff. There's many small finishings that just make the experience easy and relaxing. The rooms have QR code menu access and the food is really exceptional. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and finished with high quality soaps/shampoos etc. the location is perfect for beach, shops. There's a great pool area with complimentary towels and a great bar that also does coffee and food. The rooftop bar is also a great venue. Overall this was a wonderful stay and I'm definitely coming back.
