Fabulous looking place, with a beautiful interior, featuring lots of polished wood. Located upstairs within the Soul Boardwalk on Cavill Avenue. Extensive Menu with many options to suit almost everyone. Also offers a good kids menu. The dishes we ordered were wonderfully presented and were delicious. Very friendly, helpful and efficient staff. Especially Jordan, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Made for a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Would give it 0 stars if we could. Went here last night, everything was fine at the beginning we were seated and our orders were taken promptly. We then proceeded to wait 45 MINUTES for our SOFT DRINKS not even any cocktails or beers. We were then told our prime rib steak we had ordered 4 of was not available … 30 minutes after ordering it. So we got fillet instead and changed one of them to ribs. The ribs came out 20 minutes before the rest of the food and before the drinks, the young lady dumped them down on the table and walked away. Shortly after she proceeded to give drinks to the table next to us who arrived at least 20 minutes later and when my Mum asked about our drinks she responded rudely with “I’m getting them now” she then came back 5 minutes later and dumped the drinks on the table. 5 minutes after this the other meals came out, have th the medium rare ordered fillets came out blue so after complaint about this they were re-made, still blue and in edible. The female mentioned earlier was seen talking to another female co worker and they were constantly looking back at us as if they were talking about us - extremely unprofessional. Faces were made at us every time we had a reasonable issue or complaint by nearly all workers. The manager was probably the only good thing out of the experience we had here - he gave us 25% off for the issues but still $230 for what happened last night is appalling. Reading other reviews the experiences here don’t seem to be great and I think there is clearly a lot this “restaurant” needs to reflect on. Won’t Be back

Such an awful experience. We use to love hogs breathe in Adelaide so got excited to come to this one but oh I wish we didn’t!! Daughters salad got forgot, my main meal (salad and curly fries) got forgotten- there was only 3 of us! My dinner finally came out as the wrong salad and no fries. had to send back. Fries came out- no curls, just broken crumbs. The right salad finally came out- my wife had finished her well done steak by this time- the seasoned potatoes in salad were burnt black so full salad just tasted like burnt food. Manager gave me 25% off but bill came and the 25% wasn’t even worked out right more like 9% taken off and they tried to over charge my wife’s meal- charging for top steak when she only ordered the smaller steak. Attitude was not great of anyone there and they really didn’t care about our experience. Would give zero stars if possible. Don’t go here!!!!

It wasn't bad but it's not what it used to be. The mains cost a lot more for less food. The Apple Cobbler mentioned Granola. So I pictured something like an apple crumble but it was a small $12 moist apple slice. Overall it wasn't bad but too many corners have been cut to save money.

After a poor experience at a Melbourne Hogs I was reluctant to try another… but I’m glad I did!! Surfers Hogs was amazing. Food was out in a reasonable time, although despite asking for kids meals to come out first/a little quicker they came out with the mains which meant the kids were getting a bit bonkers! Troppo Burger and Calamari Steak on the cards, and both were really good value for money and the steak was cooked perfectly. The kids meals were good size too and they loved the curly fries. Good to see they came with Vegies… although mum and dad ended up most of them. Forgive me as it’s been a week but the supervisor (I think Kianni?) was lovely and really accommodated us. Overall I’m very glad I gave hogs another go. A very different experience and a far better one at that. Will be making sure we go again next time we are in Surfers!

Staff are friendly and welcoming. Patience is essential as they are understaffed. Still, sat right away, order taken within 10 minutes and meal arrived in good time. Shared the ribs and a sunday. Great value.

Long member of Hog's breath here. I have always tried local Hog's breath cafes in QLD for more than 15 years now. Hog's breath in Surface paradise has been always my #1 HG since they were in the basement. I took my non-Aussie cousin's family to 'this' HG Café specifically to give them the best Aussie steak experience. We felt welcome by young servers that night even though they looked short staffed. Food was on time and, most importantly, steak was cooked perfectly as we requested. Good on those young folks who served us. You did not make me a liar about Aussie steak! Keep it up so that I can bring my other family here! 😀 visited on 29tg/Aug/23 around 7.

I normally leave reviews but this place has some issues that need to be addressed. The first night we tried to be seated with a party of 8 it was pretty busy so we’re told sorry no seats for 8. That’s understandable. However the next day around noon we came as a party of 7 to eat to an almost empty establishment and we’re told they couldn’t sit 7 together. 3 of us were sat at one table near the entrance and the other 4 were sat towards the end with plenty of empty tables in between us that could of been used or made to sit 7. But no they sat us fat apart for whatever reason I’m not sure. No one else other than a party of 5 came in to eat during our time so it’s not like those tables were occupied or reserved. Anyways meals took a bit long to make and since we were already running on time to get to the airport we took our food as we got it afraid if we waited for them to fix anything we wouldn’t have time. Our steaks were not medium rare but came well done. And some of the sides were not what we ordered. Overall I’m sure the food would have been fixed if we weren’t in a rush but my main issue is being told 7 people can’t be seated in an empty establishment.

Went for the first time with my family and we all loved it. The staff were really nice and we enjoyed our food! I ordered the vegan wrap, my family had the chicken parmigiana and fish and chips, they all loved it.

Just had the most friendliest of service from a young lady Alicia. Upsold me a few items which was great. Very clean restaurant and the food was delicious. I will be returning again for dinner.

I can’t believe how slack the staff were here. We were seated for over 30 minutes in a virtually empty restaurant before we even received a drink. Some food took 40 minutes and other meals were completely forgotten. To add insult to injury the steak I ordered was supposed to be medium rare and came out almost uncooked. Waste of money!

Had a one hour wait! Need to be patient as many places are short staffed, although this is difficult if you have very young children. They had no head chef. Food was average.

Had dinner there last night. 3 adults 2 children. Staff were friendly and efficient and we were served the kids meals as asked quickly. Drinks were served promptly as well. Only complaint is that 2 adults ordered the fillet steaks (myself included) with Prawns and Bernaise Sauce. I’ve never had a steak that was so flavourless… the other steak was the same. For a steak that is supposed to be slow cooked for 18 hrs we were stumped.. bland too say the least for something that price..

They let my partner and I in and got us a table when bookings were preferred. Got our orders super fast too like only a 10 minute wait on a busy Saturday. And the natural prime rib steak was bloody delicious. Service was amazing, definitely coming back!

The night we dined was very understaffed due to covid and they had a few new people to train, but that didn’t affect the service we received. We were seated quickly in a spot we were happy with and our drinks order was prepared quickly. We received our meal order quite fast too and it was beautiful, my husband thoroughly enjoyed his prime rib. Staff were professional, apologetic and friendly. Would definitely visit again next time we are at the Gold Coast!

Delicious well priced meals. Friendly, helpful and prompt service. Children friendly. Relaxing atmosphere, definitely recommend Hog's Breath Cafe.

The service from the waitress was great, and we got our drinks pretty quickly. My partner and I had just gotten engaged and we got the tropical romance cocktail and it was perfect, whoever told the waitress that her recipe sucked should eat their words because it was one of the best cocktails ever! When we ordered our food it took a long time and the steak wasn’t cooked to medium rare as requested and the sauce I received wasn’t what originally asked for, and they brought my friends sauce out just as we were finishing the meal.The food was still great though. Overall the experience was good.

Stomach hasn’t stopped hurting since I ate it. Last time ! Once we got there, we waited 20 minutes to be seated. We ordered two double cheeseburgers, kfc would make a better beef burger. What made us feel better, was seeing the other kid from across the other table suffer to the fate of that cheeseburger struggling to swallow it. This was after waiting 20 minutes to be seated, and another hour for food that was obviously cooked much earlier. The cashier after asking about our meal obviously didn’t care from the disinterest shown when we explained our experience. I would like to be contacted.

I went here last night and my dads food was dry but the staff were very nice and gave him a free beer and replacement meal. I had the kids chicken nuggets with a mock tail which was delicious. I recommend going here for dinner. The staff were really nice and weren’t mean at all.😀

This was quite nice here, the people were very friendly and helpful. Food was pretty good too.

Hubby had the Juicy burger chips were a bit soggy, I had the chicken with mash veggies, veggies were a bit under cooked, great night out it's been awhile 😁

Amazing meal! I got the chicken wrap and it was so good I'll definitely go back for another one! My partner got a 18hour slow cook steak and it was just so good! Amazing service from the second we walked in to cashing out. Thank you for a great meal.

Recently had dinner with the family here and have to say that it was incredibly disappointing, the staff service was not too bad because the girls did try their best to accomodate, but the food was an absolute regret!! For the amount your paying, its a complete waste of money, and the sad thing is that in most other Hog’s Breath restaurants I have been to the food and whole experience has been amazing, so I have to say that this specific Surfer’s Paradise restaurant is the one that’s stuffed up to the point that we will never be returning. Sorry guys! 😔

I had just finished buying a PowerHit from the lovely staff at NewsXpress Southport park and decided to get some dinner at this fine establishment. Subpar expectations were shattered after being served by a young lady named Karrin (red hair 🧑‍🦰), especially with the Jack Daniels and apple drink recommendation, which stunned me to my core (apple core 🍏, get it! Haha!). My winnings have sure paid off tonight, haha 😂🥲! I’ll be sure to buy Karrin an overseas cruise 🚢 once I come back after I win the lotto (gotta be in it to win it)!

Daniel was a great help to me and my table group give him a raise. He is onto everything. The food was great me personally had a steak and curly fries which that meal was gone in 10 minutes it was that good. highly recommended the Mac and cheese and as a side on what ever meal you get. Desert this desert was incredible me personally had the sticky date pudding and the rest of my family had the same once again shout out to Daniel give him a raise making jokes and the table didn’t miss a single thing we said so If you go here have a great great time.
