Fantastic place to visit and see the animals. The staff were friendly and very insightful. I love the set up of the park, especially with the train. The train makes it easy for anyone to move around the park and not miss any of the sights & sounds. I would highly recommend a visit if you are in the area, you will not regret it!

This place is incredible! Visiting from the States, of course the animals are nothing like I've ever seen before. That alone is amazing in and of itself. However, the layout and landscape were truly spectacular. Nothing like you would get from a zoo or aquarium at home. I felt my inner child come out and be thrilled at all the animals in a very natural habitat. The staff was terrific and knowledgeable. I loved how spread out and open all the habitats are. The kangaroos were available to feed and pet (not the joeys!) and watch as though I was in their natural environment. The real treat were the koalas. So many babies!!! I couldn't believe how long I could stand and watch the mamas and babies together. The refreshments are reasonably priced and delish. I was delighted and my experience exceeded all expectations.

Was really impressed with the modern nature of the facilities and upkeep of the premises. It's a lush hideaway with cool walking tracks thanks to the stunning vegetation. A lot of effort has gone into designing the enclosures. Staff were all really friendly and helpful. Far better than some of the other zoos around SEQ. The highlight was certainly the cultural dance show!

This use to be such a memorable place as a child. Left there so depressed and disgusted. I didn’t mind that a majority of the animals weren’t there because honestly, they are better off not being there! It was a particularly hot day today, and most of the poor animals were trying to stay in the little shade they had for them. Would it kill the place to have more shading for them? Also, some of the areas that had multiple animals together didn’t seem to have an efficient amount of water. For the amount of money this place charges, wish they would put it toward the animals living conditions. Everyone here do you and your family a favor, don’t go. If you wanna see some animals go for a nature walk.

Had an amazing afternoon wandering around this sanctuary. It was a very drizzly day, but with the cover from the trees, we only copped some very light sprinklings, certainly not enough to deter us or ruin our day. A great facility with an impressive array of all kinds of wildlife. A highly recommended place to visit.

Really nice place to go with the kids. They have sinks all over so we were able to wash our hands frequently. I love that my kids were able to interact very closely with some animals. It was a nice activity. Will recommend 10/10

We did the koala breakfast encounter and had such a wonderful morning it’s really worth the money. First you have breakfast (very tasty) next to the koala enclosure during this time the keepers bring around a few koalas and you can touch them and they talk to you about them. After breakfast you get to have a photo with one of the koalas where you hold them. Then you get taken into the koala enclosure and you get to feed them. Throughout the whole time the keeper is giving you information answering questions etc The whole thing lasted about an hour and a half and then you get the whole day to go around the zoo. When we went it was raining and we still had an amazing time so I really recommend going we absolutely loved it. We also fed the kangaroos and rode the train, saw the birds, there’s just so much to do! I will definitely return and Id do the koala encounter again!

We had a wonderful day. My 11 yr old grandson did the Tree Top Challenge he loved it. I tried i did the first part but had to give up not bad for a 72 yr old. The staff were great about helping me get back down. The whole place is a wonderful day out there is so much to do.

I booked a behind the scenes experience for my team at work to thank them for all their hard work during the year. Tiffany was super helpful to engage, and worked on a tailored package for us that suited multiple cultures and ages. I can't speak more highly of her professionalism and that of the keepers that made our day one that we will never forget. Oh and the FOOD!! WOW.....a two course banquet fit for royalty. It was absolutely superb.

This place was great, not as big as some other wildlife parks, but still well kept. Nice tidy grounds and very friendly informative staff. The animals look well looked after also. Grab the free train if you tire from all the walking.

There are steam train, wildlife parks, playground and water playground. I would suggest you to visit them early and you can take your time in this amazing place. Lovely Macaws, birds, kangaroos, koalas, red pandas, etc.. We had a fun day in Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. Staffs are great and friendly.

Started off 2023 with a bang. This place is awesome....better than a certain well known Australian zoo. I say this for a few reasons - the cost is reasonable (and comparable), the range of animals is great, everything is well spaced out but not too far for walking, plenty of shows through the day, wandering wildlife (with volunteer staff) which you can occasionally interact with, it's super clean, not over crowded and the cost for food and drink is also reasonable. The quality of the meals was great too. We spent a full day meandering around and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Please keep in mind when reading this, this is a wildlife park, not a zoo so, no elephants and tigers type animals, mostly native and rescued international animals. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable too. This place is definately family friendly. Thank you for an awesome day!

What a wonderful place! Staffs are friendly, park is very well maintained. All the animals looks really happy and well fed. 😄 Weather was perfect in June too. We had an absolutely great time here. Prepare some light snacks for your kids and take the tram! Highly recommended to visit the in house animal hospital. When we were there, they were treating a koala and visitors can view from the outside transparent glass panels.

I haven’t been here in like 15 years, and as much as it’s improved, it’s also just the way it was..and that’s perfect!! Plenty of amenities available in all sections of the sanctuary. The little trains are awesome and get you around nice and quick. They take strollers, so not to worry. All of the exhibits were fantastic. Stroll through an aviary; catch up with the lemurs, red panda, tassie devils, wombats, among many other species. You can have your photo taken with a koala, which is an amazing experience. Unfortunately the kangaroo field is largely closed due to, what looks like, an AMAZING upgrade that should open in the near future. You can still meet many kangaroos, and feed them for just $2. The water play area is a great addition. It is probably suited towards kids 1-4 years old. We look forward to coming in the future.

I had a fantastic time at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. The variety of wildlife and activities for kids was outstanding. I even enjoyed the small train that toured the area. As a parent, I cherished every moment with my kids, and time just flew by I strongly recommend a visit.

a must-visit attraction on the Goldy. It combines conservation, education, and entertainment in a stunning natural setting, offering an enriching experience for visitors of all ages. It's a place where you can connect with Australia's native wildlife and gain a deeper appreciation for the country's natural heritage. This expansive sanctuary provides an opportunity to get up close and personal with Australia's unique wildlife in a beautiful natural setting. Visitors can witness a diverse range of creatures, from cuddly koalas and kangaroos to colorful lorikeets and massive crocodiles. The park's well-designed enclosures and exhibits allow for a close encounter with these remarkable creatures while ensuring their well-being and protection. The daily wildlife shows and interactive experiences are a big draw. You can watch awe-inspiring bird of prey demonstrations, witness adorable koala cuddle sessions, and even hand-feed kangaroos, creating unforgettable memories for visitors of all ages. The sanctuary's lush and well-maintained grounds also make it an excellent place for a leisurely walk or picnic, with beautiful gardens and a peaceful atmosphere that offers a welcome break from the bustling city. There are informative displays, passionate staff members, and wildlife hospital tours that provide valuable insights into the sanctuary's vital role in protecting and rehabilitating injured animals.

Wow what a superb wildlife park!! Can't recommend it enough. Beautifully designed, educational, healthy animals and passionate staff. Get there early for the parakeet feeding (8am onwards). I visited with my family and partners parents who visited from the Netherlands and it was great for them that as soon as you walk in there are so many koalas to see, you can pat kangaroos and emus, walk with the wallabies etc. I'll do a separate review for the tree-top challenge but all I'll say here is it is SO worth the $40 ticket upgrade. Plenty of add-on experiences too but book these in advance. Only downsides were there is currently only one place to order food, and the train around the park stops early. Enjoy visiting!!

A wonderful place for people of all ages. Took my kids here and they had a blast. The place is huge, recommend walking along the path rather taking the train. Although the kids love the train rides. You can easily spend the whole day here without getting tired, so many places to rest and relax. Bird encounter was awesome. Kangaroo feeding and patting was good very relaxed around small humans. Would always come back.

Excellent place to go for a short weekend holiday. The animals are tame and the treetop challenge is amazing. Multiple courses on the treetop challenge with skips if they are too hard. With certain courses, you get a great view of the sanctuary and animals. Overall, a great experience of you don't mind Heights and adore animals

This place is great! I totally recommend visiting here on your own or as a family. Me and my family came here quite a few times when we lived in Australia and it is such a lovely welcoming place. The staff are brilliant and so kind and talkative which really adds to the whole experience. My favourite part is the bird feeding where you can feed the wild birds and they are so tame considering they are wild because of all the love they receive here and food of course 😂. The kangaroo encounter is also lovely as they are very calm and comfortable around people and have a nice large environment to live in. This whole zoo is beautiful and so worth visiting :)

This was a great sanctuary..well groomed cared for and wonderful volunteers. I bought annual passes for me and my son. We will be back soon!! Parking is $10 per car unless a member then it's free. Plus the membership includes a 15% discount in the gift shops. The bird show was incredible!! Enjoy your visit!!

We really enjoyed visiting this wildlife sanctuary. The place is well maintained, and the volunteers are quite knowledgeable. It is a beautiful and educational place to bring kids along. The place is beautifully landscaped and displays quite a variety of animal species. There is a walk in aviary, which is not as big as the one in Maleny, however, is a nice experience. Tickets can be purchased online or at the entrance. There is a free car park on-site. There is a cafe and a souvenir shop within the premises. Overall, it is a place definitely wprth visiting!

A great experience having breakfast with the koalas. Enjoyed being able to see the whole park from the little train which does a complete circuit in 25 minutes. We loved being able to get close to the kangaroos and rock wallabies. The bird show was amazing. Feeding the lorikeets is fun too. So much to see... a great day out for the whole family.

Well laid out, absolutely super staff and volunteers, great for kids and family, plenty of food joints in between, many birds, reptiles, koala and kangaroos, plenty of other animals and a mini train that runs across the park for easy to hop on, hop off rides. The dinosaurs discovery trail was loved by all. The best part was Senior volunteers and staff who were an admiration and so welcoming and smiling. Thanks to everyone for making our day. Note: Plenty of parking on opposite side to the main entry. Please plan your trip after checking the show timings so that you can optimise your day in the sanctuary. Recommended 5-6 hours for a complete coverage.

It certainly has been changing over the years. Some areas need maintenance and the works have prevented the full experience in this last visit. It’s still a great place to visit and feeding the pelicans and lorikeets are still the best part. I really enjoyed the train ride and the dinosaurs in the extinction trail.

Wonderful place to see birds and animals that you may not normally come across. You could spend the whole day here if you have the energy. Great for kids, who love feeding the kangaroos (bring two $2 coins for the food machine). A small train runs through the park if you don't want to walk everywhere. We especially loved the Wild Skies bird show.

Fantastic place to visit. This was our 3rd visit. The addition of the lost world area getting up close and personal with the animals is the best. Staff are friendly and helpful and always happy to chat about the animals and conservation activities. Look forward to our next visit when we're next over from NZ.

Love this place. So well kept and animals that look so healthy. If you’ve got the option to visit regularly then joining the National Trust gives a year of access for a very reasonable price. I thoroughly enjoyed doing one of the extra attractions of afternoon tea with the koalas which gave you a cuddle with a photo and a really good platter of cheese and other tasty foods plus an adult beverage or tea, coffee etc. While afternoon tea was enjoyed a keeper brought a koala around, answered our questions and gave an informative talk about koalas. We were even allowed extra pats of these gorgeous creatures. Well worth the extra cost. The wild bird flight show is not to be missed either and included in the entry fee. If you go early or at park closing you can feed the wild lorikeets. No park entry cost for the feeding only a gold coin donation and quite an experience.

Amazing value for money! There is so much to see with educational boards throughout the sanctuary. For a dollar coin donation you can feed the lorikeets at 8am, this was by far my favourite experience! Within the day pass you also get access to feedings, shows and talks. I could easily spend all day there! You can roam at your own pace too. I highly recommend booking a day pass if you are ever in the Gold Coast, you won't want to miss out on this amazing experience, trust me!! I will definetly return, it was so much fun.

Amazing experience in a gorgeous animal paradise. The koala breakfast was the crown jewel, and I highly recommend it. We got to pet koalas multiple times, take great photos and learn a lot about them, the food was delicious, and you also get early park access so you can go see other animals before anyone else enters the park. The echidna encounter was a fluke and I would not recommend it. Friend the kangaroos and petting them was a treat that will last us a lifetime. The red panda was the most beautiful creature I’ve seen. And the lemurs were hilarious, tanning around in the most intriguing poses. The one bad/terrible thing that must to be changed is the diesel train. Not only does it pollute the environment for us humans and the animals they’re trying to rescue, but it just smells terrible and made us sick. And one thing that should be improved are the bathrooms.

This was the highlight of our trip. The animals were beautiful. The keepers were so helpful and shared great information. The volunteers were incredible and so helpful The birds in flight show is amazing. Remember the kids swimmers, the splash pad is very refreshing on a hot day The food was nice. Sadly not a lot of lorikeets at the wild feeding but they are wild so they can’t control that

Went on Father’s Day, wasn’t as crowded as I thought it was going to be. Absolutely beautiful place. I’m entrance you come through the cafe and then into the park entrance. All the staff I encountered were so kind and made it such a magical experience. Adult tickets were $60 but you can purchase an annual pass for $90. So much to do and so many animals to see. You get to hold and take photos with koalas for $45 and with eagles and snakes for $20 I believe. I was able to pat and feed kangaroos and get up personal with emus. There was also tree top climbing that took place there. Plenty of places to eat and gift shops. lots of shows to watch as well. We enjoyed the bird show. There’s also a train then can take you around the sanctuary. Such an awesome place. We spent 3 hours exploring and it went by so quickly will definitely be visiting again.

Despite having visited the Gold Coast on many occasions, I had never visited the Sanctuary and, despite the rather steep entry price, I was really very impressed. In fact, I think it was worth the money spent. The enclosures looked well thought out for the different animals, the notices are well worded and informative, and the different sections provided plenty of interest for all ages. I went with my daughter and her two children aged 5 and 3. If you feel so inclined you can even try the ziplines (height dependant). The area is huge, but there is a train if you get too tired (or hot!), although the kids can cool off in the water park, so bring togs! There's also a playground.

Such an amazing place to visit, especially with a young family. The staff were friendly and facilities were clean. We arrived around 1p.m. and found the service at the Cafe (near entrance) very poor (and virtually no other customers). We also had some trouble with barcode app for tickets however, the park staff were very helpful. On the up side, we found the park was great, especially the access/visibility of the animals and we were captivated by the koalas. NB: Never seen so much motion from both adults and Joey's. A very pleasant afternoon for our family.

The only reason for the four stars is down to the fact the AR animals (and most importantly the dinosaurs) are tied into a walk starting at the Cassowary, it was sort of unclear that the direction to be taken and proved very unhelpful since we started at the crocodiles and went clockwise and while our 5 year old loves dinosaurs in the lost valley there was no way he was walking back through the lost valley (which was a very nice walk and a lovely bird sanctuary enclosure) although look up for the lemurs if you don't see them at first sight. However it would be nice if you could activate the AR animals separately as well as using the discovery mode. Appreciate that's a small thing but worth mentioning. However that said, this is a great sanctuary to visit, the trains which have four stations including the start (at blinky bills) also good to take a trip around the sanctuary once (to see what's on offer). The food and drink cafes are as good as anywhere else and of course plenty of gift shops if needed. Beside the koala photo stand as you enter the sanctuary, they were selling sunscreen (in case you forget) which is a nice touch for busy parents. There is a play area including a small water park and zip line opposite wild burger station. There are a number of shows on through out the day including the lorikeets feeding at 4pm (in the area outside the entry gift shop), a donation gets you a tray which is filled with honey liquid and just hold out your tray. It's a nice end to a good day.

Which are reasonably priced too. The place is huge and has a super convenient mini-train running through the park with stops in most major sections. The train has separate cars just for pram storage- they've really thought out the family aspect of the place. Super convenient and free. Get the annual pass and make the most of this place!

A really enjoyable day out with the kids. Lots to see and do. I recommend catching the train around the Sanctuary and getting off at the stops (if you have small kids who dont want to walk). Dont forget bathers and a towel if you plan on going to the water play area. Birds of flight show was great.

Currumbin Sanctuary has something for everyone! It's a big place, so wear comfy shoes, however, there is also a train which can take you around the park. Lots of huge trees and forest areas makes for shady walks, even on hot days. Pack a change of clothes, or take your togs for the kids, as there is a small, fun water playground. The free flight bird show is impressive, situated in a nice shady auditorium. You can also get up close to kangaroos and feed them, though they do tend to just laze around a lot! If you buy a yearly National Trust pass, you can visit anytime, plus bonus free parking.

This place surprised me; it was so much better than I expected and highly recommended for your stay on the Gold Coast or in the NSW Norther Rivers. It is a lovely wildlife sanctuary, focussing on on Aussie critters with a selection of exotics thrown in. Definitely worth spending the day. Check the program for shows and feeding times e.g. see Calamity the Tassie devil chomp through chicken drumstick, cracking bones with her strong jaws. Terrific for a family outing. The little wedgebill has a cracking call.

We had such an amazing day here. The facilities are excellent and the keepers were so interactive. They were happy to answer questions and chat with us. And there were keepers everywhere. The free train inside to take you from one end if the park to the other was a godsend. The animals were all active and we saw animals that are normally very elusive at other parks. Further to that, the food was awesome. Had tge nachos. It was well made and reasonably priced. We had ice cream and the staff were really quite pleasant. We cant wait to go back.

If you have younger children 0-3 years, i wouldnt reccommend coming here despite how reviews claim there's something for every age. Its not the type of place that can be considered entertaining for young children and i personally was not impressed. Long walks and almost no animals to see. The park set up is quite confusing and i never made it to the kangaroos because i couldnt find them. The koala nursery was empty. Couldnt find or see the echidna, or tasmanian devil. Didnt see any birds in the bird sanctuary asside from pigeons of all things. The park is based entirely around shows, so if you have young kids who wont sit through a show there isnt much point coming here asside from the Wild Park which is a kids play area. The splash area in the Wild Park was the only thing my son liked. But it seems pricey paying nearly $50each for two adults, and an almost 2 year old for him to not enjoy anything but a tiny splash park.

First visit and we had a whole day of family fun. Highlights included the bird show and the Lost Valley where the kids enjoyed the AR feature on the new app to find all of the creatures. I was invited by my friends to join them on a private educational tour. We had a great experience. Due to Covid and winter, we were limited to only a few of the animals. It was a hands on experience for all. I was surprised and happy to hear that a lot of the animals were rescued from families or substandard living situations. I also learned that they will adopt out to people who can take care of them properly. Below are some of the pics I took. Nala was a surprise that she was comfortable enough to come out of her house. Would do it again!

  • 5/5 Dyane E. 3 years ago on Google
We had experienced a private tour over the winter break and the children absolutely enjoyed interacting with the animals, and learning so much about each one, including their habits and personalities. Thank you so much to Melinda who shared with us the history of the Long Island Game Farm along with her love for all the animals. The staff were all so helpful and truly nice. had a great experience at Long Island Game farm! my kid love the deer feeding. animal feed is about $4 a cup. and bottle feed for baby goat is about $5 a bottle but it was worth it if your kid is happy! lots of animal. we was there in Nov so some of the animal were indoor at the time.

Great place to take younger children. It allows them to interact with animals in a way they enjoy and still keep the animals safe. It is just the right size and offers an array of things to do and animals to see. I don't recommend coming here, my boyfriend and I went there, and were highly disappointed. My boyfriend booked a couple events to do at the Sanctuary, the possum holding, the scales and tails and the koala holding event. All three we missed out on beacause our tickets had different times to the program. We got to the possum holdening 10 minutes before we thought it was meant to start but apparently your meant to be at each event 30minuntes before hand. At the gate we also got givin a map that's far more complicated then helpful, along with different directions from multiple employees. The lady at the front also told us that the koala photos would be on "All day ". Until 2pm is actually when the koala photos finish. We weren't the only ones told that the Koalas photos would on longer. At 3:30pm I was sitting down and saw a women and her 6 year old son walked up to an employee and asked about the photos. The worker rudely explains to the women that the photos end at 2pm, the young boy starts crying. The worker just ignores the women and her son and goes back to cleaning.

A bit disappointed if I’m honest. All of the animal encounters were unavailable, despite me checking the website before hand to confirm the days and times. Manage to get a koala photo. But that’s it. A lot of the park was closed because of the construction. And the park is so vast it’s takes so long to walk between places. I guess overall it’s a good day out. Maybe when the construction finishes, it will be a better day out e.g - animal encounters and shows and more wildlife to see.

I only really wanted to get a picture with a koala which was easy to do. The koala area was right in front of the entry. You get one professional photograph with a koala per person. Very quick and easy and they allow others to take photos while you are taking your photo with a koala. Then you pick it up at the gift store when you exit, I did pre bought my ticket and koala photo which I think is always good to do. The zoo had many areas and many animal displays. It also has a kids playground and more things to keep the children interacted like the extinct species area where there is a sandpit that they can play in. They have shows to keep the kids entertained near eating area. There's also a train that goes around the zoo and a set timetable so you are able to time trips. There is a vet hospital which allows you to see the animals that have been treating and donation options. It even has glass so you can see the volunteers and vets treating animals. There was construction around the hospital area in June when I visited and also past the dingoes. There are many volunteers that help around the zoo which do know a lot about the zoo. You can spot them in their zoo volunteer uniforms. They had a lorikeet feeding time at the beginning which I missed but has a whole program of shows that are worth watching. These programs range from eel feeding to the flight show. There is a large adventure climbing park above the kangaroo area. So you are able to climb and are close to the kangaroo area. It was great that you can easily buy kangaroo feed which was $2 , I recommend getting change to use the dispenses because sometimes the workers are busy in the shop. They have many exotic animals and the aviaries were filled with many bright coloured birds. There was one aviary still under construction which may be finished. Overall the zoo is great for families and friends. Also there is a lot of walking and further down near the dingo area it is hilly, so when you visit make sure you have comfortable clothes and shoes.

Beautiful large park, wonderfully set out with a train to get from one end to the other. The shows were informative and the staff were all professional and so kind to the kids. Great range of animals and exhibits. (I didn't use flash for the wombat, I have a night option on my camera).

I would highly recommended the Lorikeet Feeding. It is 100% worth turning up at 8am for it then a coffee at the cafe before heading inside. The volunteers in the park are very friendly and are super helpful. Currumbin is well kept, the animals look like they're properly cared for and their environments too. Spent about 6.5 hours in total there. I had an amazing time. I think if there was some seating at the pelican area it would be good since it can be hard to see the feeding happen with standing people blocking the front row

All the staff here are super friendly. As someone who comes here a lot, make sure to visit the the bird habitat. It is nice and quiet and feels like a different world all together. Also check out the turtle place. The rushing water background noise is calming and good for meditation.. Busiest days are usually Saturday and Sunday.

I had the most incredible experience visiting the Koala Sanctuary in Gold Coast! It was a haven of tranquility and a true paradise for these adorable creatures. As soon as I entered the sanctuary, I was greeted by lush greenery and the sweet aroma of eucalyptus, which is the koalas' favorite treat. The sanctuary was meticulously designed to resemble the koalas' natural habitat, with spacious enclosures filled with tall eucalyptus trees, cozy branches, and soft bedding. The highlight of my visit was definitely the opportunity to interact with these furry marsupials up close. I couldn't help but smile as I watched them lazily munching on eucalyptus leaves, their fluffy ears and button-like noses captivating my attention. The sanctuary staff were incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, sharing fascinating facts about koalas and their conservation efforts. One of the most memorable moments was the chance to hold a koala in my arms. The gentle creature was so affectionate and snuggled into me, creating an unforgettable bond. It was a true privilege to have a personal encounter with these iconic Australian animals, and it made my heart soar with joy. Aside from the adorable koalas, the sanctuary also housed other native wildlife species, such as kangaroos, wallabies, and colorful birdlife. I spent hours exploring the various trails and wildlife exhibits, immersing myself in the sights and sounds of Australia's unique biodiversity. I left the sanctuary with a renewed appreciation for these enchanting creatures and the vital conservation efforts in place to protect their habitats. The Koala Sanctuary in Gold Coast is a must-visit destination for anyone who wishes to connect with nature, support wildlife conservation, and experience the sheer delight of encountering koalas up close. My time there was nothing short of magical, and I will cherish the memories forever

I normally don't like zoos. But this place felt peaceful, and the animals all had space. Loved that the kangaroo area had a barrier for the kangaroos to freely move to where they could get people free space. The train going around is useful to get an overview of the park, kangaroo feeding was a definite highlight, and the blinky bill show was great.

This place is amazing. There is an wild eel feeding session! The bird show was so good we went to the afternoon session too. I loved the miniature train. The water park was a great ending to the visit for our 5yo. The cafe served yummy food. If you like animals it's a must-visit

Great wildlife park, bigger than the car park would led you to believe, very family-friendly. Pram access everywhere (aside from where the Lemurs reside), lots of shade throughout the park. Lovely big playground at the start, lots of close animal encounters, very beautiful wooden walkways with interactive info panels.

Lovely friendly staff, great location with its lake and amongst native bush. Everything to do including the encounters we felt were reasonably priced and encouraged us to do and see more what the park had to offer. We did the scaley encounter and the twilight tour on top of the standard park entry. I highly recommend the bird show as that was quite a treat!. If you find yourself around the Brisbane area, you should absolutely find time to spend a day here.

General admission tickets were a bit expensive for 2 adults but it was a beautiful day to spend with family, especially our baby. The free bird show was the best thing but Tree Top Challenge surely looked like so much fun. Access to certain areas is restricted with strollers and we didn't know it in advance

I love Currumbin -it's even better than all the other animal sanctuaries and zoos in QLD. I think that the simplified list of shows throughout the day needs to be more easily accessible on the website but it is so much fun to visit, even if you only make one or two shows. If you CAN only make one, be sure it's the 10:45am or 2:15pm wild skies free flight show on the opposite side of the sanctuary to the entry -easily the best free flight show around. Accessibility for mobility impaired persons and people with prams is far better than anywhere else too. This is a really special experience.

We really enjoyed the variety of animals here. The ground are beautiful and very well kept, customer service is great, and we were able to feed the kangaroos. We completed their Tree Top Challenge which is a ropes course and zip lines. It was a lot of fun and worth the price.

Visiting this sanctuary is a must! So many fun things to observe and experience for people of all ages. The koalas, kangaroos, reptiles, birds and many more. Beautiful daily shows and my favorite was the Wildskies bird show. The colorful Lorikeets feeding is a refreshing and lively experience. The dinosaurs trail is a fun and interactive way to learn about dinosaurs. There is also the activity of Zip lining which is suitable for older children and adults. Highly recommended. My one and only recommendation for the management is to keep the restaurants open until the sanctuary closes, as it's difficult to catch up with the shows and have a good meal after them.

I have visited most of the wildlife sanctuary/Zoos in the area, unfortunately this was the worst one for me. It was one of the more expensive ones and it seemed to lack animals. The whole place just didn't look as appealing as the other ones. A lot of the enclosures looked a bit poor, the animals showed signs of stress and they honestly didn't look as if their enclosures offered anything stimulating at all. Some of the food for the Koalas looked very dry and desperately needed changing. There was quite a bit of construction when we visited, maybe it would have been better another time. We got there early and ended up having to wait 30 minutes, I have never waited this long to enter. It was only upon buying the ticket that I realised why they took so long as they asked for where you are from and phone numbera etc, lots of details that I didn't really see the point of knowing, no other establishments have asked this. I am sure they have their reasons but it just made the waiting time quite long. The wildlife bird show was probably the best part of it, they did encorparate some humour into it, the girls were great. I am sure they know what they are doing and all the animals are well looked after, these were just observations that I made comparing it to other places. If the price reflected it then I wouldn't have been too bothered about it not being as good, but to say it is more expensive than other places it was very disappointing. I'd go elsewhere.

Last time I visited, I was a small kid. As an adult (early-mid 30s with no children), I could absolutely spend 2 full days here. We did 1 day and didn't get to see and do everything we wanted. The shows/presentations are great, the enclosures are well built and the rangers/keepers are great at what they do (knowledgeable, friendly, and happy to answer questions or have a chat). I would highly recommend the WildSkies show, wearing long sleeves if doing the lorikeet feeding (beware the scratchy talons), and the Tree Top Challenge if you are physically able. Word of caution: the Black Diamond is *hard*, and I wouldn't recommend you do it unless you could confidently attempt a Ninja Warrior course. I would absolutely go back, and would love to try the twilight park experience.

Currambine Zoo is an excellent place to spend quality time with kids. The standout feature is the spacious enclosures for the animals, ensuring they have plenty of room to roam and thrive. The abundance of trees provides natural shade, making it a comfortable outing even on sunny days. The cleanliness of the zoo is remarkable, creating a pleasant environment for visitors. Another highlight is the convenient train that allows you to explore different parts of the zoo with ease. Overall, Currambine Zoo offers a fantastic family-friendly experience, and I highly recommend it for a fun and educational day out.

Loved the morning lorikeet feeding! Such a highlight, and amazing that it's free. The train was a fun way to get around. The food was expensive and the map was impossible to figure out. The bird free flight show was outstanding. All in all, it was a great day out with many different creatures to check out. We certainly got our steps in!

Amazing place. Tips Bus no 700 goes to currumbin from Broadbeach south tram station so can't be missed and the drivers are king enough to announce the stop so no stress. Carry about 1l water per adult. You can carry snacks with you as well. Have a heavy breakfast and reach by 9am as a lot of animals go into the shade when the sun comes out and can't be seen. Follow the map it's fairly simple to read but helps a lot with navigating The train is good and has a stroller stand for little kids. But if you can, walk it's much fun however some places have upto 12 gradient. The shows are fun and timings are on maps. The 2 at Q2 are ones with mascots only useful if you have little kids. Pickup and drop off bus stand is same so be careful about where the bus is going. Plenty of parking is available so no worries there either. There are 2 "food stops" they have 3-4 shops the usual purgers and pies etc. Not expensive, priced the same as your average mall shops. 18.5 for a rice bowl OR a medium burger. Vegetarian options available. Apart from the food stops restrooms are available throughout though scarce, refer map. The train is a nifty option if you're not keen to walk, get it from the reptile enclosure which is to your left when you enter. You can book in advance or pay there for a personal koala piction or encountering an eagle or echedna etc. It's fun specially if you don't live in Australia. You have to go through A lot of enclosures specially aviaries and wallabys so keep that in mind that the animal can approach you. You can also feed a few animals like koala and kangaroos the place sells thier food and the volunteers there are very sweet and will help you pet them and feed them. Be careful though they are friendly not tame. The entire experience will take no more than 3-4 hours including 2 stops for food. The tree top challenge is a different ball game looked fun but haven't done it. It's your basic obstacle course but significantly difficult at advanced levels. Most importantly HAVE FUN!

Awesome day out with friends at Currumbin. Absolutely recommend visiting and supporting the sanctuary! If there does look like a chance of rain when you plan to visit, prepare accordingly as there are only a few spaces with rain cover with walks in between. ^^

A hidden gem, smack bang in the middle of the Southern Gold Coast. A tranquil slice of heaven from the moment you arrive. The park is maintained impeccably and the layout invites you to meander around the whole day. The animals are well cared for and the site boasts a very busy wildlife hospital. There's several shows and activities each day to cater for the entire family. A trip on the custom park train is a must, especially if you have little ones. A definite destination to include when you visit the Gold Coast.

We went to Currumbin during the school holidays with our little one (just under 2). It was busy & parking cost $10 for the day, which we were happy with. We booked tickets in advance and there was no wait to enter. There was a long wait for the little train, but it holds a lot of people, so don’t be put off by a queue. We also went to the little show with Blinky. But the absolute HIGHLIGHT of the day for our little guy was the Dinosaur Trail through the trees. For the adults, it’s lovely and shaded too, so we spent a lot of time there! In fact, that’s the only time we took photos at Currumbin…

A fun afternoon! The mini rail was very entertaining. This place is great for a family day out. The Cafe has a great kale burger that is a must try 😋 👌

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is a leader in conservation efforts and has one of the best wildlife hospitals in the world. Nate was very explanatory in his Wild Skies aviary and veterinary presentation. Montana was our guide during our Capybara encounter and nocturnal tour; she answered our questions in great detail and provided the best experience we could hope for. The park has many facilities, from public bathrooms, food vendors, merchandise souvenirs and photo opportunities. Most park areas are wheelchair and pram accessible; however, some areas display signs prohibiting entrance due to stairwells. An extensive tree-top adventure course is also available as an add-on for ticket entry. If you are looking for an animal experience, make your booking well in advance to ensure a placement, as numbers are limited. A phone application is also available for download, which displays a real time map that displays current location and the ability to plan out your fay. It provides links to allow for bookings and ticket purchases. Free parking is available just offsite.

We enjoyed the bird show, Dino trail and blinky bill, 2 more shows in the afternoon is quite a long wait after the morning shows. I wish they can put more shows. The mini train is convenient. Be sure to bring your water/drinks and snacks as it can be quite expensive ($6/bottle & & $4 for small packet of chips😊), the hot food is fair price.
