It was not too crowded in October. Main parking is free for a day and there is a local tourist info where you can get a map with all the hikes on it. Very kind lady behind the desk suggested me a 16km hike, where you see most of the waterfalls and viewpoints. Amazing scenery, beautiful wildlifd and well maintained trails. The treetop walk at the end was nice.

Always nice and cool even when it's raining, tracks are muddy and leeches galore. Area can be subject to high winds & heavy rainfall that can make the tracks hazardous. When the weather is fine, there are some beautiful long walks with magnificent views towards Byron Bay and Mt Warning from the cliffs on the NSW border. Abundant birdlike can be seen and heard. Eastern Green Tree Frogs come out early evening in very wet conditions. Watch out for Red Belly Black Snakes in summer in exposed rocky areas.

So many trails, we did the long one. We walked 22km but it was incredible. The paths were a bit dodgy, creeks to walk through, walk over a waterfall. It is just a huge trail full of waterfalls. I loved that it had lots of different challenges to cross in water etc, it made it really interesting and fun.

One of my all-time favourite places to go for an adventure. The forest is soooo magical and often mysterious. The colours are vibrant and the bird songs are delightful to hear as you make your way through lush landscapes interspersed with magnificent views. Go... and go often. It's worth it!!!

What a place! My favourite National Park near the Goldie. What’s not to like: Amazing views, spectacular waterfalls, abundant bird life, 3000 year old beech trees and tranquility. It’s my go to when I need to do factory reset.

We're staying in a one bedroom rainforest villa for 3 nights. On arrival, we were already impressed at how beautiful and breathtaking it is here. It can be pricey, but to get the most out of what O'rielly has to offer, I'd recommend staying. Of course, day trips for hikes are another option if that's all you want.

Beautiful rainforest with tree top walks and easy trails to walk even for people with low levels of fitness. Bird feeding - I'm not sure how much for a tray of feed, but it's an interesting experience. Might be helpful to wear a cap/ hat as some birds like to sit on your head. Humans must look like trees to them 😅 Would highly recommend visiting this place. They have retreats as well... which one day I might try.

Easy 4wd track when try. Although dangerous roads (lots of one-lane trails and blind corners) so be careful. Beautiful views and a pleasant Forrest retreat.

Amazing spot to go to with breath taking views on the way up and on the tracks. The road up does get very narrow so be careful driving up. There are bbq areas and toilets are close by to or a cafe. Plenty of parking space during the week day I'm not sure on the weekend. Lots of different tracks to try. Most are easy and wheelchair friendly and prams. Lots of different animals to see as well, and feeding wild birds as well. Good place for the whole family. Nice and quite good place to relax and enjoy the wildlife. Highly recommend going to have a look. 😊😊😊😊 Please note, there is no phone service in the area, and very limited internet access via the O'REILLY guest wifi.

Did the West Carunga Circuit hike. It took around 5.5 hours to do with gentle slopes and water crossing. You will get wet feet. A very nice refreshing hike. A GPS device is useful as the track is not marked properly. The road condition towards the end is horrible with pot holes everywhere.

Gorgeous, so pretty up here. We went just at the end of a decent amount if rain, and it was so green and lush. For young kids the tree top walk and botanic gardens is easy. Stayed at O'Reilly's villas, which are wonderfully kept. Only rough part is walking back up the hill to your cabin after a swim.

Great visit! Can't beat the silence and the wildlife. Couple of short (<10km) walks were excllent although noting the Elanbana Falls track is showing many signs of erosion. Thankfully a dry trip.

It's the perfect place near Mount Tamborine or Gold coast. You can spend 1 or 2 days, if you plan to do tracking here, otherwise you can explore some places like the garden, waterfall, top tree view, bird feeding etc and it will take half or full day depending on your interest. You can view different insects and animals here.

Stunning views, lots of wildlife and amazing walks for novice and experience hikers. Several camp sites at the top of the mountain, alongside O'Reilly's for food, bird feeding, treetop walk and spa facilities. Lots of different tracks to explore and plenty to see for all ages! No dogs allowed in the National Park at all unfortunately.

We did the Dave's Creek Circuit off Border track from Binna Burra and it was amazing! So interesting with rainforest first but then along spectacular cliffs with stunning views, and as it was super windy we had waterfalls blowing upwards. It was fantastic 😊

Beautiful day out. Picterseque rolling hills, alpaca spotting, cattle grazing on the side of the Rd (slow down as they are on the Rd) & the wild bird feeding. Well worth the 1.5hr drive from Surfers. The Tree Top walk is very, very easy, my elderly parents didn't struggle and we saw a few prams too. Make sure you stop to take in the wonder whilst walking the suspended bridges. Great photo ops are a plenty too. Enjoy your visit!

A beginner's hike with a serene and scenic view Edit: On our second visit to Lamington National Park, We explored the enchanting O'Reilly section, marveling at the breathtaking Moran Falls and navigating the impressive treetop walkway. Opting for an early morning visit proved magical, as the lingering fog added a mystical ambiance to the lush surroundings. The tranquility of the morning allowed for a serene appreciation of the birds gracefully having their breakfast. Lamington National Park remains a nature enthusiast's haven.

The peace that comes from being in the amazing nature is hard to describe. Love the O'Reilly family presence, it's like stepping back in time in the nicest possible way. So many stories told by the team an experience to remember.

Awesome, serene, waterfalls, mountain / cliff views, creeks, ancient trees, amazing diverse wildlife with different grades of walks and hikes make this one's of the best places to visit. Keep it beautiful and leave on only your foot print behind.

I'm only giving it a 4 because at the start it didn't tell you which way to for the the most amazing waterfalls so we missed out! If you want a dense rainforest and pretty flat walk then this is the place for you.

Excellent day out. We are from Melbourne and thoroughly enjoyed the drive through the mountain albeit a bit scary in places. It was overcast most of the day, but the clouds did clear for some beautiful photo opportunities. The skywalk and surrounds are magnificent unfortunately let down by our meal at the restaurant. A bit skimpy.

A 1 hour and 30 minutes drive away from the Gold Coast, you get to see a lovely view of the mountain ranges in the background and lovely views of the Gold Coast. A lovely winter day. Highly recommend.

  • 5/5 Ryan 1 year ago on Google
A beautiful place in Southern Queensland away from the hustle and bustle of the Gold Coast. Many many walking tracks throughout the National Park starting from either Binna Burra or O'Reilly's. The border track links the two places a day's walk (21km). Many different walking tracks with various difficulties, short and long options, views of waterfalls, many creek crossings, lots of lookouts. You need many days to explore all of it.

An absolutely gorgeous and stunning place. It’s got multiple hiking trails into the forest with waterfalls accompanying you in most of these trails. Please research them beforehand. The O’Reilly’s cafe and bar are the only stop and shop option there, but they’ve done a lovely job!!

This place is massive. Being a tourist it was one of my must see places for the trip and boy it did not disappoint. It was so good to be out amongst nature. Spending a few hours here, completing the different hikes. There was lots to take in, including caves, waterfalls and lizards. Definitely worth a visit on your trip to Qld.

Absolutely beautiful as are all our great Nationals Parks, Box Forest Circuit is a great walk relativity easy for all levels at your own pace, love it so much to date I've walked it a number of times however this time I was extremely disappointed to see more than noticeable tissue and toilet paper consistently left along the track, a poor display of human behaviour...... take a doggy bag with you for those who have no respect for others wanting to enjoy the experience.
