👍 I came here for the exhibit itself, to learn about Aboriginal culture. Only reason it’s not 5 stars is because it’s very small (I wish it was a full-fledged large museum!), but they sure pack a lot into a small space to make it worth stopping in. First of all, it’s free! Second, a lot of beautiful... People often mention tour, experience, people, guide, staff, local, learn, culture, information, aboriginal,

I came here for the exhibit itself, to learn about Aboriginal culture. Only reason it’s not 5 stars is because it’s very small (I wish it was a full-fledged large museum!), but they sure pack a lot into a small space to make it worth stopping in. First of all, it’s free! Second, a lot of beautiful, local, and native art adorns the walls. Third, great information panels on important historical figures that give perspective on the aboriginal experience. Fourth, a nice little faux-nature area with info about local wildlife. Lastly, plenty of cool local goodies to buy - from candles to backpacks to hand lotions! Highly recommended to spend an hour or two perusing everything and buying a trinket to support aboriginal culture and awareness.

Had an amazing tour by Anthony from the centre! We were lucky to be in a small tour with only 5 people so we could get such wonderful sharing and stories from our very knowledgeable guide. I feel like I really learnt so much more about aboriginal people after this tour! It’s been an eye opening experience!

My work team and I had an amazing morning on our learning experience with the jellugral team. The headland is such a special place to us and this only enhanced our love for the area. We saw a huge fever of stingrays on our walk which was so cool. The team there welcomed us with opened arms and we all learnt something we never would’ve have known without going. So Thankyou guys for the awesome experience . Recommend more work teams visit there together to become closer to country .

An eye opening experience. Hearing the traditional owners perspective of the land and what it means is absolutely amazing. Definitely gives you a perspective shift for how we view the land now compared to how the Aboriginal people view the land and treat it with respect and care. Would highly recommend to anyone who visits the Gold Coast or is interested in aboriginal culture. The walking tour goes along a gorgeous track and you can really see how people used the land for thousands of years.

I advocate for indigenous Australians and work on and consistently donate to the conservation of Country, hence I chose to do this tour, but the tour was unsatisfactory. The tour consists of an ABC film screening for about 7 minutes, then four stops of 5 minutes each and 15 minutes walking time along the south side of the headland. All up, less than 1 hour and the tour is listed as 2 hours. We basically scratched the surface and the tour was done. Honestly I don’t know the reason for this, maybe history has been lost, but if there is more info to offer I think the tour needs it. Then near the end, the tour guide bragged to a few of us about shooting a native crow “right between the eyes with a slug gun”. A few of us were not happy about that. I don’t think this tour represents Country well at all.

Lovely staff with great local knowledge, very happy that we visited. Also want to highlight how fantastic the staff were in responding to a community member in need when we visited last weekend - it wasn’t their responsibility to help the young lady we saw being harassed outside their centre but they demonstrated incredible community spirit to make sure she was safe and cared for without a moment’s hesitation. If only there were more people in this world like the staff at Jellurgal.

I bought a painting from this team when I visited and the experience was an issue from start to finish. I was visiting from the USA, was going to take the painting with me but they told me they could arrange postage and took 3 days to confirm what postage costs would be. Once confirmed I had to revisit as they kept spelling my email address wrong to send me the payment link. Then three weeks later when I am back home in the USA I tried to get the postage details from them as I hadn't heard anything from their team only to learn that the item hadn't been posted. The store team blamed the head office team, the usual run around. Eventually worked out that they hadn't actually spoken to Australia Post when quoting me postage rates, as they now couldn't post it. They were unable to find another company to do so and it ended in a refund. Not taking into account the international fees their screw up cost me. The biggest issue is that after I gave them hundreds of dollars and trusted them to deliver on their promise they never contacted me again. It was always me having to chase them. Really disappointed with this experience, it doesn't take a lot to keep your customers updated and I wish that was all they had done.

Highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to learn about and explore Indigenous culture, particularly the connection to Country and the Dreamtime. It was so informative and enjoyable and Cameron was a terrific, warm and knowledgeable tour guide. Best tourist attraction I’ve been to on the Gold Coast to date.

Had an awesome time learning about local culture and history. Really cool to see a place like this. Wish more tourism around Australia was like this. It helps you feel more connected to where you are. The people who are running this place are super friendly and approachable. Cam also makes a fabulous coffee.

Cameron was so knowledgeable and kind! Would highly recommend as it doesn’t take too long and is the perfect amount of information to be meaningful but not overwhelming.

Super interesting tour with a very dedicated guide Cameron, who is also a master narrator. Highly recommended if you want to learn about and pay respect to the very inspiring aboriginal culture. We even saw whales!

Beautiful walk with cultural tour guides Cameron and Tyeesha (not sure if I got name correctly) . Cameron is very knowledgeable with lots of information about the plants , environment and dreamtime stories. Delightful. I recommend walking the rest of the trails in the National Park after your visit

A beautiful and informative experience. Some enchanting displays. Please also get yourself something from their store and support Aboriginal artists. Their work is so amazing. The trail through the national park next door is also stunning.

Beautiful bushwalk through Burleigh National Park while hearing about the Aboriginal history of the mountain and their cool Dreamtime stories. Every Australian needs to learn more about their Native people and what they have been through.

You can experience something new here. This place is like a small dimension for you to explore, understand and respect the aboriginal culture in Australia. Totally recommended.

I love to read about the Aboriginal history of the areas I vistit. It's sometimes hard to understand, because of my very different Scandinavian backrground. I really enjoy the Dreamtime stories. Artworks on display 👍Friendly staff 😃

I'm a carer for my partner who's currently on dialysis and has a service dog which is a little griffon x pug and one of your workers who was on a school trip with kids following her told my partner to leave the national park because dogs aren't aloud after telling her it was a service dog and showing her the card that's under guide dogs Australia she then told me it should be wearing a vest after telling her it was wearing a vest and she's to little to see she then proceeded to yell at me and say in front of school kids "what does that dog even assist" I will be calling guide dogs Australia to get them to send out information and to better educate your staff on assistant and guide dogs especially when they should be taught when working at a national park anyway and when infront of children that would probably be learning and listening to everything this lady is saying to a person with an assistants dog not a very nice experience at all!!

I went there for a morning walk with my service dog there was a female staff member there with red hair who illegally discriminated agents me and my service dog when I provided my guide hearing and assistance dog card she continued to discriminate agents me and my dog which lead me to almost fall of the path with my service dog in my hands not professional. !!DISCRIMINATES AGENST SERVICE DOGS!!

one of the main highlights of our trip to brisbane was this tour. thank you to AJ for sharing his story and knowledge on aboriginal history, and answering our many questions. what an absolutely fantastic tour guide! we left feeling inspired and changed. honestly more should be charged for the tour (which we would gladly pay) considering how much knowledge has been imparted, and the beautiful views we get to enjoy during the tour walk. we have recommended our friends and family to make a stop if they are ever visiting brisbane, and you should too!

I liked the tour but I didn't find the staff friendly or at least not to me. The product in the store is limited. But still worth seeing if in the area.

Wonderful, friendly native guides. Book a tour with them in advance and you get an educational information about the origins, history, watch a performance and there is a shop that sells MADE IN AUSTRALIA souvenirs. Came across this centre via the website to search cultural experience for my school group. I am glad I made the right decision.

My daughter and I attended the Deadly Choices invitation to attend. I highly recommend visitors, even locals go and check it out. The crew were awesome , and have amazing local knowledge. Grab an authentic souvenir on your way out too. Support local and learn about our Kombumerri ancestors and Yugembeh languages.

Friendly staff members and a whole lot of information and artwork from the traditional land owners. The centre offers guided tours through Burleigh Head National Park but check online for tour times and days.

We attended a children's educational experience here and had such an amazing day. The staff are highly knowledgeable and welcomed all our kids questions. The program they ran for us was excellently designed for kids - in that it was filled with information in a way that was engaging and interactive. We are so glad we visited!

A very nice and educational experience with important knowledge imparted by a skilled storyteller. Important reminder that the way people lived for tens of thousands of years, in harmony with nature, turns out to be the most sustainable for the generations that come after us. Very exciting to learn about how the ancient stories that have been retold over thousands of years agree with modern geological analyses.
