Great place for an easy walk in the park. The garden is in 2 halves, with one nicely landscaped and the other yet to be done. The landscaped part is around a lake that had multiple bridges and viewing areas. There are small waterfalls and tropical areas. Wheelchair accessible paths and easy parking.

What a delightful find in a small Gold Coast suburb. Beautiful walks, informative signage and overall a delightful way to spend a couple of hours meandering and enjoying the sights and sounds of nature. Loads of benches everywhere, excellent facilities, water bubblers and coffee shop.

Beautiful place to stop to relax, have a picnic or go on a walk. Not all tracks are dog friendly, but you can still bring your furry friend if you stick to the outer tracks.

A beautiful, peaceful walk in the heart of the Gold Coast. There's a stunning array of native trees, shrubs and ground-covers to admire along with all the native wildlife that feed on these plants. There's plenty of parking available and great, shady spots to sit and relax or even have a picnic. The gardens are open all year round.

There’s a huge off leash dog park inside the botanical gardens, with lots of open grassland space, a small waterway for swimming, and plenty of other dogs for socialisation. There’s a few dog fountains in the garden, and despite there being lots of dogs, the area was very clean and owners cleaned up after their dogs. There’s a marked pathway through the park which is a circular loop, or you can wander across the grass. Overall a fantastic off leash dog area!

Was not impressed with the botanic gardens at Gold Coast. Our local botanic gardens which is in a small country town is just outstanding and we can spend hours there so I was expecting a massive WOW when coming here but unfortunately we left within half hour of arriving after doing the entire ( what felt like the shortest walk ever ) trail track and boadwalk in the photos I'll add, which I thought was the ' entrance ' into the area around the carpark, unfortunately this was the most exciting part, the rest of the walk was through a petty little bush behind the Cafe backed onto people's houses in not so much of a peaceful walk being people mowing / TV/ general living sounds which wasn't so sweet, was just totally bummed by the gardens it self and was expecting ALOT more. We left and decided to go to rockpools with our toddler and had a way better time. Just way to short and ' boring ' to ever go here.

Best described as a hidden gem, the beautiful and tranquil botanical gardens are a great place for a family picnic/bbq or just a leisurely stroll. With a large open area for dogs to be walked and a great playground for children it really does offer hours of free, healthy fun for all ages. It always leaves me feeling revitalized and refreshed!

First class botanic gardens, providing both garden delight, and botany lessons. Sunny and shaded areas. Dog free and dog off leash zones. All great for wheelchairs and prams. Good parking. We didn't visit the coffee shack.

It’s my first time here and I rode my bicycle around the gardens. I like the open spaces, quiet environment, all the labels on the trees and plants, the boardwalk is quite beautiful. Looks like it’s still developing over the back, there is some parking space at the back, it’s not very busy, there is a coffee shop with 3 thirty minute spaces, there are a few dirt trails to walk, it’s not a large botanical gardens and it looks pretty new. I feel like it needs to have something WOW maybe a tribute to the rainforest because it’s all bush like plants and trees in my opinion. Maybe more animals and a few massive trees. It’s wheelchair accessible and dog friendly in certain parts intact there is an off leash area at the back. There is a good source of information about the surroundings in various places around the gardens.

Another beautiful day working out in nature today .. Check out the gorgeous turtles, swans & the lizard 🦎 that looks like he has a vest on ? All so tame & loved playing.. Prince my puppy also loved playing with them too .. Beautiful location to appreciate life out in nature with so many paths & places to explore… Truly blessed .. It’s the #simplethings in life isn’t it ?

Beautiful day for a picnic, plenty of grassy areas and trees for shade. Or plenty of tables and benches. Play areas for the kids. Lots of bird life. The flower gardens were so pretty. We loved the red Kangaroo Paw and the rose garden. Public bathrooms, rubbish and recycling bins. No dogs allowed for the fur parents.

Great spot on Ashmore for a walk in the park. Plenty of space to park, with a dedicated area for kids. Going around the park, there are also quite some spots for grilling and chilling.

I take mother often to Ashmore Regional Botanic Gardens on Ashmore Road. It has a good board walk to see the different waterbirds and little turtles, if lucky! They all love to sunbathe so sunny day mid morning to mid afternoon is a good time to spot the water dragons and the turtles!

It was my 1st time here, yet I lived here since 1987. Access is easy, I think plenty of parking, plants 🪴 appear to be well documented. Amongst the ponds and board walks is a cafe, they make a great coffee. There's so much small wildlife as well and I'll need to return as it's a large space requiring more time. It's a shame it doesn't get great advertising as it's a very relaxing venue to clear the head. 💕

Well maintained gardens, lovely big park for children to play, plenty of picnic spots and space to kick a ball around. We love wandering the gardens and looking at the ducks, flowers and lizards. The rose garden is beautiful and it’s always fun to point out the different animal statues around the garden. Cute little coffee shop too.

No wonder it is empty... too small.amd no varieties. But clean, no dog allowed, still good nature in the city area. Might be good for local people to spend some arvo but I wouldn't spend my time when I come for holidays for short time

A little and nice botanic garden, comprehensive of toilets and next to the visitors centre there is a cute cafe. The staff was very kind. In the garden you can spot turtles, spiders in the trees, walk on bridges and study the trees around you. We recommend a stop here. For more check our Instagram: @weekendipendente

We visited the gardens in early September 2023. They are neat and very well kept. The whole place is relatively flat, with plenty of parking, and paths in very good condition suitable for strollers or a wheelchair. There is a children’s playground and a large flat area. A lovely spot to visit for a walk or a picnic.

This is an ideal place for simply relaxing, reading, or leisurely stroll through the beautiful grounds, also a fantastic place for family outings or walking the dogs.

Absolutely peaceful and wonderful place to walk, sit, sketch, watch. There is no rush here & it is fantastic to see how well it is looked after & to see the wildlife flourishing. Our city/cities need more of these places. I feel most at home here.

Awesome walk and ride for the kids and a fun kids park for them to burn off some energy. Loved the Native Australian fruit tree walk. Amazing to see some species in a small clearly defined spaces. Definitely a go to park from now with easy access and plenty of parking.

A storm had just passed so the waterfalls were quite spectacular. The boardwalks around and across the lake give a true sense of peace and relaxation.

I have visited many stunning Botanical Gardens in Australia and around the world with a beautiful and wide variety of flora. However, the Gold Coast Botanic Gardens is a pleasant place to visit but for a wealthy city falls short of being a spectacular, memorable experience.

Great place for off leash dog walking. Beautiful gardens although the off leash areas are restricted to areas where your dog cannot damage natural flora or fauna. Even has a little Cafe for when you need a caffeine hit after your walk. My pup loves this spot.

Lovely botanic garden with many things to look around, there are friends of gold coast visitor centre and ice cream shop 😋. Moreover, big kids playground and huge dogs off leash area 🐶 to make sure everyone happy. Lots of parking space and many entrance surrounding the area. You can walk or bike around while looking at the water pond. There is educational park and sensory garden to learn about the plant. Many table around for your outdoor eating, just make sure bring your table cloth and own chair plus make sure to keep the park tidy 😊. Great place for leisure and education time. Really satisfied and recommended 👍

It’s small compared to other places and less accessible but really worth a walk. Plenty of open areas for parties and sports, heaps of plants to explore. A bit run down in some sections- probably due to COVID-19

Lovely place to go for a walk or to bring a picnic lunch, nice to see the wildlife and get away from city life, without going too far

I am local to the botanic gardens and visit regularly, however I would not consider it travel worthy. It's very well kept and quiet, I enjoy a leisurely stroll with my young family. There are public toilets, a children's park and cafe/ice cream parlour. The design could have been better, the cafe/ice cream parlour should be located by the park/foot traffic rather than hidden away in the corner.

I have been coming to the Botanical Gardens for over 20 years and Im here most mornings to doing my power walk. I love thats its not crowded that early of the morning and I'm not having to constantly dodge people. The whole place itself is just beautiful, free entry, loads of parking, as I'm such a nature lover I feel right at home amongst the trees, gardens and the beautiful lake and not to mention the wild life just going about their daily business, I could just sit and watch for hours, and there is plenty of shade from the trees to escape the sun. There are great walking tracks which are all beautifully kept and its an easy place to get around, fantastic for people in who aren't so steady on their feet or who are in Wheelchairs and for those pushing prams. Wonderful place for your children to wander and explore and see the many birds, the turtles and fish and lots of lizards and water dragons getting around, ( not in these cold months as they tend to hibernate) The children can ride their little scooters, as there is plenty of flat concrete paths to learn to ride on, there is a great little playground for them to play, with easy parking for the parents and toilets close by the play ground area too. There is a large well kept doggy area down the back for your dogs to run freely and play and so they can burn off all that energy, its all off leash and they have a huge lake for the dogs to swim and play in, its their own little slice of heaven. I just wish they would put some seating down near the doggy lake for some elderly to sit and watch their dogs. There are public toilets near the childrens play area and also some up near the exit on the left when you leave. They provide clean drinking water ( near the toilets where the play ground is ) from the water bubbler, where you can fill your bottles and there is drinking water for your dogs also and poop bags provided for them too with plenty of bins for rubbish. There are lots of little picnic spots and seating around and also gas BBQs provided which are cleaned everyday. Also there is a little Cafe to meet up with your friends and to get that much needed Coffee. Honestly I could go on forever, well I think I just did, but you certainly wont be disappointed

Lovely gardens. We went in Autumn, I think Spring or Summer would be better. We spent a few hours looking at the different trees, shrubs and plants. Got our steps up for the day. We’ll be back again. Oh, lovely helpful lady at the friends of the garden kiosk.

This place is my sanctuary. Great spot to walk and relax. It's my favorite spot to go to read a good book and enjoy some quality alone time. The scenery and birds give it a great nature setting and atmosphere.

What a beautiful facility for Gold Coast city. I can see where our rates go. Also congratulations to the volunteers without which it would not have been possible. Great for dog walks and kids scooters. Children would have a great birthday party. The coffee shop is a bit out of the road so look out for it. Support it so it doesn’t disappear.

Love coming here. Great for a picnic during the day. Great for exercise whether it’s a slow walk around the track or a run. Never too busy. Great place to go to relax and be away from the busyness of the main tourist areas on the Gold Coast. Great place to learn about local Australian flora

Beautiful and peaceful area to take a family walk, or to just enjoy the peace. Well maintained, great park to the side for kids, lots of great parking, small Cafe. Lots of information about Australian plants and environment.

  • 4/5 Daniella C. 1 year ago on Google
Beautiful, well maintained and seemed to be adequate parking. Few BBQs, nice playground. Wish there were more bathrooms, or bathrooms closer to BBQ area as 3 kids want to go at different times and it was a bit tricky logistically. Otherwise, we had a great visit, and will definitely be back soon.
