I’ve played here a lot in my time and it’s gradually been getting worse and worse. These are the tees atm and the greens have weeds all through them and are super inconsistent. Not sure why it’s so bad and it was nearly empty on a nice sunny day. Maybe other people have decided they’ve had their last rounds there too?

What an absolute gem of a place. Attended here for my nieces sweet 16th. There was a variety of delicious finger foods and special shout out to event Co-ordinator Rebecca who made the night go on without an issue. Great photo opportunities as well.

It has been a while since I played and baulked at the $99 fee but was keen to go and have another look. It was a disgrace. For the price I was very disappointed. Half the bikers were gur and had no sand in them. I won’t be back at that price.

For $105 I would expect the course to be in better condition. Weeds growing out of every bunker, not small weeds either, no beverage cart, greens were horrible and had bare sand showing in multiple spots. Save your money for sure and go somewhere else.

Fantastic layout; dreadful condition. To be charged $99 for that level of maintenance (course and facilities) is a joke. The lemon Clive has done it again; ruined an unbelievable golf course with his shoestring budgeting

I played at this course a few times and the experience just seems to be going downhills every time I play The worst part is probably the proshop did not inform us how the course is pretty much not playable even though we called twice in advance and asked to confirm the course condition (once just couple of hours before we played). We concealed the game half way through the front nine and when questioned the staff at the proshop how horrible the condition was he said Ofcourse it’s bad and not playable. Honestly wish he thought about telling us earlier Not worth the 80, not even close

I have seen some really negative reviews about this course. I've played twice in month. Tricky but a great course

Last time I’ll play here, the course is and has been in terrible condition for sometime. Pay $100 to play on greens that resembles buffalo grass with the most inconsistent roll ever. This course would be one of the worst keep courses around next to Robina Wood for the $100 range green fees you pay. If you want to waste your time and money then this course is for you!

The course was challenging but not in great condition. Proshop was understocked with overpriced drinks. The clubhouse was extremely dated, and it really needs a good renovation to bring it back to a presentable condition.

Course looked great for just being flooded. From the road it was exactly what we expected, challenging and picturesque. When we arrived at the first tee, we realised the mud was playing a bigger part than us or anything else. Fairways were 50/50, but stll had large patches of wet and muddy areas. Overall, we enjoyed the round but would be waiting awhile, like 6 months, before having another look.

My partner and I recently had our wedding at this venue on March 25th, 2023, and we cannot express enough how wonderful the experience was. From start to finish, the team at the venue was exceptional, and we are so grateful for everything they did to make our day perfect. Firstly, the venue itself was stunning - the decor was beautiful, and the setting provided the perfect ambiance for our wedding. But what really stood out to us was the quality of service we received from the staff. From the moment we booked, they were attentive, responsive, and committed to making sure that everything was just right. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Ben, the venue manager, for his exceptional management skills and his attention to detail. He went above and beyond to ensure that everything ran smoothly and that we were completely satisfied with every aspect of our wedding. The entire staff was friendly, accommodating, and genuinely invested in making sure that our day was perfect. The food was absolutely delicious, and our guests raved about the quality and presentation of the dishes. The team ensured that every detail was taken care of, and we felt completely at ease knowing that everything was in such capable hands. Overall, we would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for an exceptional wedding experience. The team at the venue truly exceeded our expectations, and we are grateful for all that they did to make our day unforgettable. Thank you again for everything!

Nice place, big car park, beautiful building inside and outside. It's a great view from all windows and balconies to the golf course. Good meals and comfortable atmosphere with a historical touch. I would recommend this place to visit to everyone, as we've had a great time here with friends of mine.

Best thing about this place is how quiet it always is but there is obviously a reason why . The place is in shocking condition, to Be fair the greens and boxes have been punched and sanded but to be charging full price for the the condition the course is in is criminal. Have played my last round at Palmer colonial

The course is a great layout however it’s not looked after. The facilities look rundown. It’s a shame. A lot of potential

Unfortunately the Palmer Colonial seems to be run by someone who never sees it. The course isn't in terrible condition - fairways run nicely, greens are great - but compared to the other $80-90 courses on the coast it doesn't hold a candle to them. The tee boxes could use an overhaul (or at the very least, weeding). The 8th Par 5 (Or is it a 4) is signed as a 445m Par 4 but on the card is a Par 5. It seems like they are trying to cut costs by employing less people, but then you look at somewhere like The Glades - where depending on the time of day you can get 18 holes with a cart for $75, with deals available on 3rd party websites, a full maintenance crew, ProShop staff that are friendly, and you quickly realise you shouldn't be spending $93.50 to play golf at the Colonial. They nailed their 6th hole complete green renovation in under a year. Last time I played was a month ago for $83.50, and I thought "You know, the Colonial gets a bit too much flak on Google for the quality of the course - $83.50 isnt TOO over the top for what you get", but the fact that they raised their prices AGAIN during what has been the busiest few years for golf courses in general tells me they are trying to increase their revenue without increasing any of the things that make a golf course attractive to people. If they LOWERED their prices to the $70-75 range they could pack their tee time bookings, I know it would quickly become my groups go to for a nice course. But who knows, maybe they want less people to play for more money.

We were worried about the poor reviews we saw but played today and had a fantastic round. The fairways were in good nick and the course was really interesting. We’ll definitely come back!

Been to this venue three times in the last 6 years. It is looking tired and needs a revamp. Food was okay. Toilets clean but some have like a green algae from age. Some crockery is cracked and dirty. Overall, the experience was average. A little disappointing for the money spent.

Probably a nice course once upon a time, really let the greens and tee boxes go. $100 with a cart you expect better conditions. Playing from back tees very long and challenging course, tight fairways and lots of water. But shame to see it being let go. Wouldn’t play again.

This once palatial golf club has been allowed to deteriorate with little sign of proper upkeep. The course layout is still good and that's the best part these days. Bunkers are not properly topped with sand which means they are hard. There are parts of the course that get sodden even with little rain. The clubhouse looks tired and needs a good spruce up. Which makes you wonder why they still ask nearly $100 for a round. There are cheaper and better options nearby.

For $99. I'd expect a few Greens to be GUR. But about 40%. Not great. I know it was wet a few months ago, but Clive gotta put more money into his courses. Embarrassing bth

The staff were beyond accommodating, we had a great morning out on the green for a group function...the staff organised a package for us on the day and also provided drink vouchers and brought burgers and hot chips out to us whilst we played around lunch time which we all thought was just great! Everyone was really friendly and polite whilst still maintaining covid health and safety standards and couldnt rave about it enough!

This could also be an awesome course, it’s relatively flat but challenging around the water. They need to spend some money on the course.

Starting to look a little under cared for and "tired". Course plays well but lots of weeds all over and lots like the place needs some tlc

Good, but a little too much water impacts too many holes, needs some money spent on the course/ clubhouse to bring it back to a better standard.

This course is looking a bit tired but we enjoyed our day on it today. The staff are as friendly as ever.

Not a very well maintained course at all. Especially for the $90 plus price tag. My group of 4 had an emergency that came up on hole 8 out of 18 and asked for a raincheque for the last 9 holes and were refused. Not a very good experience overall. Disappointing especially since it was my first golf course in Australia.
