I’ve
never
written
a
review
before,
but
I
feel
it’s
my
duty
as
a
citizen
to
let
other
people
know.
On
April
5th
I
arrived
at
the
Darling,
next
door
to
the
Star
Casino.
It
was
late
in
the
evening.
On
the
first
night,
I
smelt
a
foul
odour
coming
from
the
toilet.
I
closed
the
door
and
notified
the
hotel
staff
first
thing
in
the
morning.
They
assured
me
they
would
fix
it.
I
went
out
for
the
day.
I
asked
upon
my
return
if
the
odour
had
been
fixed,
and
they
said
it
had.
I
went
to
my
room
and
the
odour
was
gone
–
though
unfortunately
it
returned
later
that
evening.
On
April
7th,
I
reported
the
odour
once
again.
On
the
8th,
they
sent
up
a
manager,
who
said
they
were
aware
of
the
smell,
had
spoken
with
the
housekeepers,
and
that
they
were
aware
of
an
odour
on
this
floor
that
occurs
when
it
rains,
which
is
where
the
Stellar
suites
are
located.
I
had
asked
several
times
to
speak
with
the
general
manager,
Mario.
They
explained
he
was
a
busy
man.
I
told
them
I
understand
that,
so
he
could
ring
me
any
time,
day
or
night.
I
was
booked
into
supposedly
the
best
suite
in
the
whole
establishment,
known
as
the
Stellar
suite.
On
Friday
8th,
the
manager
told
me
they
couldn’t
move
me
onto
a
different
level
until
Sunday
the
10th.
In
the
meantime,
they
could
move
me
for
one
night
into
another
room
on
that
floor
as
there
was
currently
no
odour
in
there
–
though
as
I
had
experienced
already,
the
odour
comes
and
goes
at
random
intervals.
I
told
them
I
would
stay
until
Sunday.
They
brought
in
air
freshener.
I
had
to
turn
the
air
conditioning
off,
as
it
seemed
to
make
the
odour
worse.
I
felt
sick
from
the
odour,
in
addition
to
not
being
able
to
use
the
air-conditioning.
I
waited
patiently
until
Sunday,
when
I
was
assured
I
was
to
go
into
the
biggest
suite
in
the
hotel
on
the
16th
floor.
When
I
arrived,
there
was
no
blackout
curtains
in
the
lounge
room,
so
the
bedroom
was
filled
with
light.
There
is
also
no
way
to
control
the
room’s
air
conditioning
in
this
suite.
They
had
air
conditioner
repairers
come
in
for
two
days,
after
which
they
admitted
they
could
not
fix
the
air
conditioning
problem.
At
this
point
I
had
enough.
The
general
manager
never
contacted
me.
I
checked
out
six
days
early,
and
went
across
to
the
Crown
hotel.
I
was
met
with
excellent
staff,
a
considerate
general
manager,
and
everything
was
beautiful
there.
What
a
contrast.
The
Darling
gave
me
a
credit
of
two
days
for
a
stay
of
eight
days.
It
was
a
nightmare,
with
disgusting
service
from
a
general
manager
who
couldn’t
care
less,
after
numerous
attempts
to
contact
him.
I
would
highly
recommend
not
to
go
to
this
hotel.
