Wonderful service, accommodation, food and drinks. We stayed in an ocean view suite for two nights celebrating our Wedding Anniversary which was lovely. Spotlessly clean, ZIP tap, coffee machine, comfortable bedding and very spacious. Our lovely waitress Rachael, at Nineteen roof top bar was just amazing. Your cheerful disposition and pleasant manner was very refreshing. Definitely recommend the accommodation, rooftop bar and service đź‘Ś

Service was appalling concierge staff completely ignored our need for help and instead all (5) rushed to help someone who arrived in a luxurious car hang up their Louis Vuitton bags and even used our car to write on a piece of paper and after finally getting one of their attentions they told us to ask reception which after waiting there was no help either.

We are nearing the end of our stay at the hotel. Sadly I can't imagine much is going to improve this below average experience we were certainly not expecting. Technically the service here could not be classed as bad...it is totally non existent. Rarely is there anyone at the reception desks, and don't even bother trying to call from the room as it just diverts to the In-Room Dining line when reception doesn't answer. We were moved from one room due to various faulty amenities, only to be moved to one with more things not working than the first. Clearly no one checked prior and of course no one followed up, despite being made aware of this on the first night we were in the new room. I could go on, but feel it would be as pointless as when we initially addressed any of our concerns with hotel staff. I'm not sure what The Darling feel they contribute to justify their higher than average rates, because it certainly isn't customer service. So if you're happy feeling like you are simply paying for the privilege of staying here, when in reality no one could care less, then go for it. However I'd suggest finding alternative accommodation that actually prioritises guest experience.

Good hotel overall, though quite short in height. This hotel is undoubtedly better than the main Star hotel, and has a small restaurant precinct as a part of the building. The room itself was not bad, as we got an included minibar with an arrangements of snacks and drinks to choose from. The pod coffee machine, was new also. The bathrooms, of all spaces in the hotel room was the biggest and most spacious, being around 8-9 Cubic metres in area both the bathroom and shower. The automated blinds in both the bathroom and main room were a nice touch also. This hotel would be worthy of 4.5 stars, due to the overall experience and convenience of the hotel.

We booked a night at a spa penthouse. The stay, accomodation and service were supposed to be more than 5 stars, everything were great however there was a receptionist lady Shanelle were not professional and left us a lot of confusions on the first day we arrived. No professional greetings welcome, no eyecontacts throughout the whole conversation through her. When we asked questions about the room she gave us an unpleasant attitude and poor explanation skill. She made us unclear about the transaction we have to pay and the room details. When we were in the middle of our conversation and finalising the payment she told us: “Please pull on other side because there are customers are waiting.” and we were not yet finished the transaction and check- in process. It leaded to a misleading information that resulted that we had to asked another receptionist in the afternoon to clarify. It is unpleasant and shocking experience we have ever had before. She has her personal issue towards us and it did seem like it is a racist attitude. owever, apart from her, other staffs were all welcoming us

Lost items/Theft/taken from room. Last year in early December I stayed with a friend for a 3 night weekend. On the last night items were taken from the room. I spoke to the front desk when we checked out and She advised that a manager would be in contact that day when they arrive for work - this never happened. I then asked my VIP host Linda to help and this was barely done with no result. I then had to make a complaint through the Star website and received an email from Joanne advising she will look into the lost property for me and get back to me - she never got back to me. Joanne also advised that Maitri the Hotel manager would be in contact with - this also never happened. I am at a lost of what to do now hence this review, my advise going forward is to use the in room safes no mater the cost of the item. As you can see if something does go missing the staff are not willing to help. Very disappointing knowing that being a Star Club member staff are not willing to help find your personal missing items.

We were invited here by friends and stay in one of the suites for New Years Eve. It was absolutely beautiful and plenty of room for everyone. Great view. Had the best night celebrating with everyone. Definitely highly recommend

A beautiful stay! Treat yourself and immerse yourself in luxury. It was fabulous in every aspect. Loved the little touches for example the turn down service. Everyone was friendly and accommodating from booking, thank you Nick, to check in to check out. Highly recommend staying here on the Gold Coast.

Impossible to fault, absolutely luxurious rooms. One very minor issue was the TV program description when changing channels was different to what was showing, probably due to daylight saving time.

The rude staff questioned my friend (profiling him) because he didn't look like he oozes money when he is in fact a multi-millionaire (and a great person who donates a lot to the arts. This place is amazing, other than the service. Stay somewhere else unless you are some rich jerk who doesn't care about people. F this place! TERRIBLE STAFF THAT NEED TRAINING!!!

My friend and I decided to treat ourselves and stay at The Darling. We make it a point to make the most of any situation. While we did love the room, on the one night we wanted to rest, order room service, and watch TV we thought paying $1112 per night we would have a functioning large screen television. This was not the case. Staff were unable to fix the issue and offered a King Room with a single roll out as a swap over at 9pm. The room service was below average with very minimal selection. We wanted to have a cocktail on the 19th floor and enjoy the view, the one nice cocktail bar was unavailable as it is reserved for the restaurant only, trying to get a booking in the restaurant was impossible, we were ushered by a staff member to the loud busy night club. While check in staff were friendly, the lady spoke so softly we could not hear or understand what she was saying. The staff servicing the rooms were very lovely. My recommendation would be, save your coin and stay somewhere more accommodating, newer and one with better amenities. This is what we will be doing when next visiting the Coast.

I had the pleasure of staying in the Darling penthouse suite, and I must say it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I stepped into the suite, I was blown away by the opulence and attention to detail. The penthouse suite was incredibly spacious, with a separate living area, bedroom, and a private terrace offering breathtaking views of the city skyline. The interior design was tastefully done, combining modern elegance with classic touches. The plush furniture, high-quality linens, and luxurious amenities added to the overall sense of indulgence. One of the highlights of my stay was the impeccable service provided by the hotel staff. From the moment I checked in, they went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction. The concierge was extremely helpful in arranging restaurant reservations and providing recommendations for local attractions. The housekeeping staff maintained the suite impeccably, and the turndown service added a touch of luxury to my evenings. The penthouse suite also boasted a fully equipped kitchenette, allowing me to prepare light meals and enjoy them in the privacy of my own space. The in-room dining service was prompt and the food was of exceptional quality. I particularly enjoyed

Most luxurious, palatial and beautiful room. Reception and concierge staff were very friendly. I would definitely return again. 5 stars.

DO NOT STAY HERE ON A SATURDAY NIGHT! THE MUSIC FROM THE ATRIUM BAR AND THE DRUNKS YELLING WILL KEEP YOU UP UNTIL 3 AM! WE ARE ON THE 9TH FLOOR AND MUSIC IS VIBRATING THROUGH THE WALLS!

Service was below average Manager abused me when the Valet parked my car and then another valet backed into it and I asked for insurance details or an incident report. And the room service made me sick No idea how this is a 6 star very over rated

High end location on the coast - a comprehensive entertainment precinct with more on offer than Jupiter's had before it. A fantastic array of dining options is a very impressive addition and makes the Darling a must visit on the coast

This is, by far, one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. I actually stayed the Star Grand instead at this casino now because of how awful the Darling is. I have photographs of cobwebs in my room, but what the main issue I have found is how awful the staff are, from reception to management. I don't even want anything when I stay at hotels. I make no demands. I do not ask for anything. All I want is to be left in my room to my own devices and room service for food. This hotel has consistently failed to deliver on what I thought was a basic premise. I have complained with no feedback at all.

The penthouse suite was very nice. You can use all pools in the star residences with your one darling key. Very nice.

I’ve never written a review before, but I feel it’s my duty as a citizen to let other people know. On April 5th I arrived at the Darling, next door to the Star Casino. It was late in the evening. On the first night, I smelt a foul odour coming from the toilet. I closed the door and notified the hotel staff first thing in the morning. They assured me they would fix it. I went out for the day. I asked upon my return if the odour had been fixed, and they said it had. I went to my room and the odour was gone – though unfortunately it returned later that evening. On April 7th, I reported the odour once again. On the 8th, they sent up a manager, who said they were aware of the smell, had spoken with the housekeepers, and that they were aware of an odour on this floor that occurs when it rains, which is where the Stellar suites are located. I had asked several times to speak with the general manager, Mario. They explained he was a busy man. I told them I understand that, so he could ring me any time, day or night. I was booked into supposedly the best suite in the whole establishment, known as the Stellar suite. On Friday 8th, the manager told me they couldn’t move me onto a different level until Sunday the 10th. In the meantime, they could move me for one night into another room on that floor as there was currently no odour in there – though as I had experienced already, the odour comes and goes at random intervals. I told them I would stay until Sunday. They brought in air freshener. I had to turn the air conditioning off, as it seemed to make the odour worse. I felt sick from the odour, in addition to not being able to use the air-conditioning. I waited patiently until Sunday, when I was assured I was to go into the biggest suite in the hotel on the 16th floor. When I arrived, there was no blackout curtains in the lounge room, so the bedroom was filled with light. There is also no way to control the room’s air conditioning in this suite. They had air conditioner repairers come in for two days, after which they admitted they could not fix the air conditioning problem. At this point I had enough. The general manager never contacted me. I checked out six days early, and went across to the Crown hotel. I was met with excellent staff, a considerate general manager, and everything was beautiful there. What a contrast. The Darling gave me a credit of two days for a stay of eight days. It was a nightmare, with disgusting service from a general manager who couldn’t care less, after numerous attempts to contact him. I would highly recommend not to go to this hotel.

Lovely spot but way too far a walk from the tram . They should operate a shuttle from Broadbeach tram station or Pac Fair

Staying at the star casino on the grand hotel side, on the 17th floor hinterland side. Service on arrival was impeccable and welcoming . Unfortunately the casino wasn't so fortuitous but that's the down side of gambling.

This hotel is amazing. I'd booked it a while ago for my birthday and we were really looking forward to it. From the moment we pulled up with our car, the valet parking guy took care of our car and luggage. Then when we checked in for our 3 night stay we were upgraded to a Penthouse Suite. This was incredible and really made my day. There was also a bottle of bubbles waiting on ice. A huge thank you to everyone who made this possible. We had the best time in sheer luxury.

Just spent 2 nights in the darling celebrating our anniversary. Everything was perfect! The rooms are modern, clean and spacious, the service and facilities are great. The luxury touches like valet, champagne on arrival, complimentary breakfast and complimentary mini bar made our stay very memorable. Will definitely be back.

The Darling is the place to be. As newlyweds, my husband and I arrived on Monday for our first part of the honeymoon; 2 nights (child free) in an executive King Suite. As you arrive, the Valet take your car and luggage, and the reception/lobby is beautiful to look at. Upon check-in, we went to our room and were amazed to see that we had been upgraded; to the Spa Penthouse!! 180 degree views, automatic blinds, a giant spa, Bluetooth speakers (Bose) throughout the ceiling, a bidet (there is a first time for everything) and amazing furnishings. We still can't believe how generous the staff were, with such a large upgrade and complimentary Chandon. We lived in heaven for 2 nights, with only positive experiences all round. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Very nicely furnished, luxurious room. Absolutely love the bath and bathroom. Friendly house keeping, bell and concierge team. However one of the most uninspiring and unfriendly reception team. Very odd... definitely not comparable to the friendly and very helpful reception of the Darling in Sydney.

Why are the concierge here always so rude? I really can not fathom why there is need for attitude towards people paying alot of money to stay in penthouse suites or even just guests arriving. It's such a beautiful, luxurious place yet without fail the concierge always have attitude that make you so anxious

The restaurants are five star however trying to get in anywhere at night time is like lining up for the big day out. No way I was doing that so I ended up leaving. Was good when the atrium bar was actually in the atrium and accessible

If you’re after opulence and luxury you need not look anything further. This hotel is the epitome refinement. Numerous good restaurants within walking distance. Casino right down stairs.
