Extremely Dissapointed. When I say do not book here I really mean it and please trust my review. We booked a deluxe ocean view superior suite, and as we entered the room assumed we were put in the wrong one. yes the view was nice but that was the only decent thing about this place. In our shower there was broken tiles which were loose clearly not cleaned. The chairs were filthy, it is outdated and extremely old. Mould outside on balcony and is not cleaned up to standards of price at all. The photos shown when booking is nothing like what we were given. When showing staff the photo of broken tiles they moved us from level 28 to 20, in a room which was of same quality and nothing like the photos like we told them. the kitchen was old and not clean we refused to use anything in it, didn’t want to sit on any of the chairs let alone use the shower in fear nothing had been cleaned at all. Very poor hotel and will definitely not be going back. Usually i’m pretty good with rooms like this, but this is by far the worst hotel i’ve stayed in and am extremely dissapointed.

No complaint's at all. My unit was so fresh and was decorated perfectly. The lady at reception couldn't do enough for you. She's an asset to the hotel. Mike was super helpful as well, especially when I was trying to get into the wrong carpark, I was next door hahahaha. I would stay here again without a doubt. Thanks for being wonderful guys :)

I have no idea why this place gets below average reviews. I don't even have low standards and perhaps we got lucky with a nice room, I don't know, but I honestly found nothing bad. So it's "dated" but I honestly didn't notice anyway. There aren't pests in the building or bad smells. They're spending money on its upkeep and they were so friendly to us as well. We had a minor inconvenience with a faulty swipe card but that's life, isn't it? A minor inconvenience. I think this spot needs more appreciation. Will definitely stay again. I'd recommend bringing a small or medium size car as there is a very tight ramp going up.

The unit we stayed in was nothing like the photos on booking.com, the shower was so mouldy we had to buy products and clean it ourselves. The laundry alcove was gross, with the washing machine leaking, the small alcove filled up with water that turned yellow due to a clogged drain. The dryer got stuck on and nearly ruined our clothes. The oven smoked when turned on ruining food. The fry pans were so bent you had to hold them on the hot plate the whole time you cooked which is awkward. Two lights didn’t work. Everything was dusty and unkept, the furniture was old and dirty. No mattress protectors on the beds and the thinnest sheets leaving you sleeping on old mattresses. The view was amazing but the windows were so dirty you could only see it if you opened the sliders. We did email the manager a number of times but even through the booking process we never once received a response. We travel a lot for sport and this is by far the most disappointing place I have ever booked … just lucky it was also EXPENSIVE!!

Run down and dirty. We stayed for a week, the bathroom was not provided spotless, the carpet was filthy. The vacuum cleaner hardly worked, the kitchen pans and equipment need to be replaced. We spotted cockroaches in the lift, sauna and jacuzzi areas weren't clean. We stayed for a week, it was barely serviced once - carpets were not cleaned. The only positive was the location - close to restaurants and the beach, sheets were clean.

If you decide to stay in a room at Beachcomer you will required to be a housekeeper, and a garbage collector. The bed mattress was extremely old and could feel the springs, made for an uncomfortable night. Room and furniture was old, worn out, broken and not very clean. The lounge was so worn out it was unusable. Windows had not been cleaned. Kitchen dirty, glasses and plates etc were plastic and very well used. Shower and roof mouldy. Main sliding door to balcony broken. Construction across the road that started prior to 7am. This is not the hotels issue, however, an email advising of this would be handy, could have brought ear plugs so a sleep in could have happened. These issues were bought to the attention of staff. Their facial expressions indicated they'd heard it all before. That's our experience, we wouldn't recommend and we would not go back. Re owners response. We and at least one other guest were in fact told that if the rubbish, in our case 1 bag, was not removed from the room we would not receive our deposit. So to indicate otherwise is a blatant lie. As for the other issues being resolved this is also incorrect.

Thank you for the good stay, the staff were super helpful letting us keep our luggage in reception while our room was getting ready. The big let down of this place is the room there is mold everywhere. The hallways smelt constantly like incense. The view was amazing and the space was good. Shower was average. Low pressure mold and terrible soap. Its annoying at checkin they requested another $300 deposit from us which doesnt get returned for 5 business days. Your expected to do your own rubbish and dishes on checkout. No soap or coffee or anything supplied. Its not really a hotel, more of an apartment for rent where your expected to bring most your own stuff

If I could give 0 stars I would!!! Upon arriving for check in at 2.30pm there was no one at reception to help. We tried our code given for the after hours safe which was incorrect. We had to call the after hours number 14 times until we got through. We were told it was security and they weren’t contracted until 6pm. There was nothing they could do and we would have to wait out the front for 4 hours until the security guard arrived. The next day we approached reception with our issue to be told it was our own fault and they wouldn’t help. The customer service received was appalling. I was told they couldn’t help me and I would again have to wait 2 hours for a manager to arrive. The manager I spoke to second was rude, unhelpful and did not seem to care they left 3 families out the front of the hotel for hours the evening before. The room was dirty and the curtains had mould. Would not recommend this hotel. The customer service is non existent. The rooms keys only work intermittently and there is no one that is there to help fix this. You will be left stranded.

I’m so surprise that this hotel has such low stars. I booked and felt a bit worried but during my weekend long stay I couldn’t find any problems. Room was clean and nice with ocean view, facilities with sauna are great. Location is very central and price was fair.

Was a little worried after reading some of the reviews about this Hotel, but thankfully in my experience staying here has been very enjoyable. We have a room on the 25th floor facing the ocean. The room is newly renovated the bed is comfortable and most importantly,…. No rubbish or cockroaches to report on. The view of the ocean is breathtaking. Many restaurants and bars are located around the hotel.

Hotel was fine. It was dated and in need of a pick me up, it didn’t quite match the pictures on the site but for the location and the price at the time it was decent. The man at the reception was lovely and easy to talk to. So this hotel is worth the 3 maybe 3 and a half star rating.

The view was spectacular, the staff were helpful. The pictures of the rooms don't represent what they really look like. Room was old and needs some refurbishing but room was clean. The bed absolutely sucked as it was two single beds pushed together as it was supposed to be a king No Netflix

DO NOT STAY HERE, TERRIBLE HOTEL. CONS - our queen bed was 2 singles pushed together (fair enough) however, one bed was TERRIBLY worn, sagging in the centre and one was not. This made one 'side' of the bed at least inches lower then the other. Impossible to sleep 'together' or even at all if you were on the saggy, hammock like side. - All the seals around the doors and windows aren't tight meaning you can hear every single sound from the street outside even from the 12th floor!! - the bathroom was dirty the day we arrived. - the pictures from their website NO NOT match the room whatsoever. Some of the rooms must have been renovated which they picture on their side, and others not, which is what we got. The tiles are lifting in the bathroom, silicon is covering every corner - foul. - Banging above our room which went for HOURS!! - Hall smelt like a government housing block. - I wouldn't call this place a hotel, motel or even a hostel. No room service unless you stay 8 days or more. No fresh towels or sheets unless you stay 8 days or more (or want to pay extra). No pool towel (you must pay extra). You must take your own rubbish out and clean your own dishes before departure. I would tell everyone to steer clear of this place. If you want to sleep during the night you'd be better off staying in a tent.

I am giving three stars for a few reasons. First the positives: we love the unit we are living in currently, very clean and modern. Easy to maintain, nice balcony and spacious. Real Estate agent is absolutely fantastic. Never had a problem with them, especially when maintenance is required. They are very friendly and easy to work with. The Owner of our unit is very reliable. The Location of the building, the beach and the walking distance shops are great for convenience. The facilities are good here. However, as we are long stay renters, numerous times previously, we have had issues with front reception staff. It's mainly their poor attitude when we needed assistance with a couple of simple things. Some people really need to be a little more understanding and caring in my opinion. Other than that, I can't say anything negative and we will continue our stay here for as long as the owner of the unit will accept us in the apartment.

The building needs a pick me up as it is quite run down, definitely not modern and definitely not a resort. Mouldy silicone, rusty beams exposed to children. Our room was mostly clean, appliances were clean. Lamp didn’t work, wallpaper was pealing off ect. Spent some time in the spa and came out with fully bleached clothes meaning the chlorine levels were extremely high. Location is good but it’s overpriced for what you get. Google also says it’s got free parking but it doesn’t.

Hmmm, where to start. The room is nothing like the pictures on the website. Not even close. So my expectations were badly mislead. I was so disappointed when I opened the door and entered the room. It was a depressing sight. The bathroom was worn and stunk of stale urine. I tried over the few days to clean the smell away but it persisted. The stove was ancient and one of the elements in the oven wasn’t working. The bedroom windows rattled crazily whenever a breeze came up, which is often, and generally a nice respite from the summer heat in the evenings. But my sleep was badly disrupted. Even with earplugs it was disturbing. I tried jamming paper, adjusting them open and slowed again, but the frames are just old and corroded to the point of being disfunctional. There are no tables or umbrellas at the outdoor pool area. And they leave hoses and pool cleaning equipment lying around all day. Not ‘resort-like’ at all. Feels almost like you’re getting in the way of someone cleaning their backyard pool. Not surprisingly the pool area was mostly vacant, and very sad. I had to drag the cover off the outdoor spa myself one morning at 11am, as no one had been yet to set the area up for the day. Middle of January, peak summer time. At least the beach is close by. A couple of saving graces. And the reasons I didn’t leave after one night. The view was pretty good. And the location to walk to some nice food and the beach is great too. I expect this is what Beachcomber is hanging it’s hat on. But with the above negatives, it’s marginal at best. I won’t be back.

The location is good. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Lots of parking space but it’s not free need to pay additional money. All the amenities are there gym pool spa etc. No cleaning service during the stay and need to take out the rubbish as well as cleaning of dishes before u leave. The view is very beautiful and the studio was spacious

Absolutely disgusting experience. Room was filthy and had no table on the deck. Beachcomber then took unauthorized transa out of bank account and when questioned, said it was "in the fine print", which was not in the fine print at all. Disgusting customer service for price.

DO NOT STAY HERE. Finding stains on the roof and the bath room sinks are one thing but finding a dirty nappy behind the couch is something else. Furthermore, there was no urgency for it to be removed by staff. Disgusting. This just makes me wonder has the room been cleaned at all?

Nice room, good view, amazing location. Helpful stuff. Noticed the jacuzzi being cleaned out in the morning, gave it a go, was busted no warm water bit of a let down. Regardless good place to stay recommend it.

Really friendly helpful staff. Fantastic location. Two lovely swimming pools and warm jacuzzi. Our 1 bedroom apartment was clean and beautifully furnished for a comfortable stay. Fridge with built in ice machine and water cooler was great. Washer/dryer in the apartment were super helpful. We will definitely be back.

Overall, we would personally not recommend staying at this hotel just from what we experienced at our hotel room. Pros- front row seats to the beach and good sunset views. Easy access after hours- there is a safe box next to the front doors where they leave the keys. There is parking on the premises which you’ll have to pre-arrange with the hotel and from memory it’s like $5 per day as well Cons- firstly, the front door of the hotel room we booked had a broken sliding lock as seen in one of the pictures. It’s just there for cosmetics really. The button lock on the door knob itself still worked. The toilet was very small. Barely any room in the shower booth for you to lift your hands up to wash your head. The shower head itself was also providing very weak water pressure so showering takes ages - although this might be to save water. The shower was also leaking, despite how tightly you close the shower knobs so unless you close the bathroom door, you’ll be enjoying the sweet sound of a water drop in the shower every 3 seconds. The bed in the hotel room was advertised as ‘king sized’ however to our horror, we were greeted with 2 x king single beds pushed together. Both king single beds were also on ensembles so during the night our beds would push away from each other. They also used one large sheet to put them together but that was hardly enough to keep them together. The bed sheets and one of the pillow cases also appeared to have some dirt and stains on them. The blinds had stains and mould on them. Some of the blinds appeared to also be of a bluish tint whilst some were what seemed to be remnants of ivory coloured blinds. The balcony door also did not close properly so the lock does not hook on at all. The balcony sliding door was also very difficult to close - even all the wd40 would not help. There is also a chain lock near the top of the sliding door however the lock did not have anything to hook on to so this was completely useless. Free wifi was advertised at this place however, after contacting their technical assistant over the phone number they provide and also speaking to the concierge within hours, they still could not fix the wifi connection, leaving us to resort to using our mobile data. There wasn’t a great availability of power points present in the room as well with no power points available at all next to the beds. As shown, there also weren’t any bed side table lamps since there were no power points nearby whatsoever.

The only thing going for this hotel is the view and location. The inside of the hotel is dated and needs to be revamped to encourage others to stay. Although there is a kitchen, there are minimal supplies. Nothing says 'I trust a hotel guest' than melamine plates and bowls! The mattress was old and we could feel the springs. The heat pump was adequate although there were no other blankets if it was a cold night. A mistake on their part did not enable us into the lift and into to our hotel room, a friendly cleaning lady took us up. We were required to stay on our room for over 3 hours until security turned up to sort the key. We were told we could go out, but we did not have any means to get back into our room or use the hotel facilities. When discussing this when checking out, the receptionist offered a discount on our next stay and was not authorised to a partial refund in cash. We said 'thank you' but we were from overseas and would not be coming back. The receptionist advised us to go through our booking agent (Agoda) and they would contact the hotel. We promptly did this and were advised that no refund would be given by the Beachcomber. To our amazement, the hotel lied about our situation and have absolved all responsibility even though it was their error. Such a terrible way to treat guests.

Beautifully located staff are always lovely - especially cleaning lady for lobby and elevator. Been coming back for years and she’s always lovely. Very clean only reason I didn’t give 5 is the hotel has a live in elderly tenant who rides the elevator with wife sometimes very rude people.

Would never have booked this if i had of known how bad the rooms would be! 1st room was so bad we asked to be moved, and replacement room wasnt much better. So old and so many things wrong with it. we had 1 glass and no way we could have cooked there with the utensils and kitchenware. Nicest part of this place was the lifts!

  • 2/5 Be Z. 1 year ago on Google
Besides cockroaches being under our sink, in the bathroom and behind our fridge, the view was good where we were staying. Staff behind the reception solution was to get pest control into our room to spray these areas. When you book online, be prepared for an additional $200 on the day to pay for a bond which wasn’t listed online.

Had a very run down room first night. Had a chat next morning with reception and was instantly offered a different room ..that was lovely! Staff were super friendly and the second room was just what the doctor ordered. Will definitely be back

We enjoyed our stay here and SUPER close to everything from the beach to restaurants, cafes, supermarkets and fast food. The room was nice, with a functioning kitchen, cold air conditioning, bathroom and balcony viewing the ocean. The only downside to the rooms was when adding on another adult the fold away bed was extremely uncomfortable. This is the reason that we have not returned if there's more than two of us staying. The pools are wonderful, the games room is amazing and staff were very accommodating. Staff also looked after our luggage until check in & also for the day before our flight.

Great location. Close to the tram stop, shopping centers, beautiful view from the balcony. However, this hotel seems to target only for locals tourists. The FO only opens from 9 - 5, otherwise guests needs to call to a phone number. In our case, we didn't have australian simcard, so we didnt know how to call. Luckily, there's a lady who just came out of the office so she could help us to open the safe box, and so on.. The apartment unit was very old and smell like damp clothes. There's no cups, plates and cutleries provided. only 2 sets of bath towel, a face towel, soap and shampoo. The bed was actually queen size bed, not king size mentioned in the internet. We needed to clean our own rubbish and dumped it to the bin in the basement. They gave us 2 wifi ID that we can use, but none of them showed, so it's kinda useless. The washing machine and dryer were old and dirty. The filter were also very dirty. The cloth hanger was very flimsy. I hope they can use this review to improve their quality

No bag security when leaving your bags at the front of reception when waiting for your room to be ready especially when arriving early from interstate or over seas The bags were left behind a sign No internet access codes were left in the room when looking for it for example there's is a letter inside of the room saying that thier is internet access code inside the room but nothing to be found No Reception staff aren't at the front counter until 830 am To single beds were put together to make one queen size bed No curtains or blinds inside the kitchen window area no Privacy To have a shower you had to climb inside the bath tub which way high to climb for children or older people let alone ourselves. The bed covers felt itchy an uncomfortable to sleep under The rooms aren't nothing like what you see in photos very different I wouldn't recommend it if you want to have a comfortable stay at th Gold Coast.

  • 2/5 Matthew F. 1 year ago on Google
I guess the expectations meets price but…. - When you write king bed it actually should be 1 bed if not write write 2 king singles - Very bad smell from another unit in hallway which was not owned by hotel which you could smell in our unit unless you had you air conditioning on even while we’re out. - Bathroom fittings hanging off the wall just hanging in there - Shower tiles do not even fall towards the drain so flooded the rest of the bathroom - Hardly any water pressure at all and don’t have more than a four minute shower because that’s all the hot water you get - so guess you get for what you pay for

  • 2/5 Helen U. 1 year ago on Google
Lucky we were there one night only. Funky smell throughout the building, given one swipe between two people and no key so room could not be locked then dramas wanting the non existent key returned. Would not recommend a stay here, there are plenty of other options in area.

Great budget motel for the price. Staff were very friendly, room was clean, and the view from my room was amazing. If you expect a five star motel on a two star budget, this is on you.
