Probably one of the best pub/taverns on the Coast! Been here a number of times with family and friends. Always friendly staff and well cooked meals at a very reasonable price. The atmosphere here is always good. Highly recommended to anyone!

Nice pub, great steak sandwich and super friendly staff. Service was great and not a long wait for food. They also have a pool table, kind of a dying artifact at pubs these days, everyone lives a game of pool.

We’re locals to the area and have been here a number of times. Our waitress who greeted us and sat us down was really really lovely, very friendly. Not sure if she’s new but she had a really positive demeanour and was very helpful. We had kids meals which are always good value, and two different steaks - both were cooked great. Of all the visits we’ve had, this was probably the best one - 30/10/21 visit at 5:30pm

Only just 4 stars. The servings were small - the calamari was chewy and way over salted, and the pizza - whilst good, was overpriced. The service was good, although they changed from full table service to ordering at the counter - much easier the old way as food and drinks were on the same bill. Families need value for money. Also, the couple who were having an argument at full voice with copious amounts of swearing, was not a good look with kids around - no staff member or security staff who walked past did anything.

Dinner last night was amazing! The entree Calamari was tender and cooked perfectly. We had steak, a steak sandwich and desserts afterwards. Absolutely no complaints at all! The staff constantly checked on us to make sure everything was good, and cleared out table immediately as we finished our food. Congratulations Hope Island Tavern. We are new locals and will definitely be back.

The quiz night on a Tuesday was fantastic, alas tonight was the last night, management wanted to discontinue it. There were regularly 30 plus people in there, majority having food as well as drinks. So disappointed will have to find another place nearby

Apart from the fact the Google Business Listing is incorrect and shows it’s closed when it’s open… I had lunch there last week. QR code menu for food and drinks. Ordered a chicken Caesar salad and was pleasantly surprised. Not just by the side but it was surprisingly good. Salads are usually hit and miss at pubs but I was impressed. Reasonably priced, quick service - great lunch

Great atmosphere good prices for all meals apart from $10.30 for short glass rum an cola. Outside area spacious.

My husband and I had lunch there today with our 2 young kids. Service was prompt and friendly and the food was on par with other taverns we have visited. The chips were cooked and seasoned to perfection and the serving of garlic bread was generous. Our kids had fun in the playground and didn't want to leave! Next time we're visiting the area, we'll come back in for another relaxing lunch.

I have been getting take away from the Hope Island Tavern for quite a while now. To the point that the girls even know my name. The food is awesome. The staff are amazing. I am very Technology challenged and the young girls set me up on the App which mean I get points and can get a discount off my food. I keep going back not only because of the food but the staff. Keep up the great customer service because it is very hard to find these days. See you next Wednesday.

A pub atmosphere, pub service.. but food and menu slightly different. Sure, you can get the traditional pub food but there's a few extras not normally seen on pub menus. Enjoyed the seafood chowder, tasty with good portion of tasty seafood. Steaks looked great, so did the burgers.

Mark from Hope Island Tavern would have to be one of the best Venue Managers I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. My family and I booked out the whole venue for 6 hours to host a huge event and Mark and the team went over and above with there service!!! THANK YOU MARK and the team....... We will now be holding all future events with them!!! 5 stars all the way 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

The waitress was extremely polite and helpful. She suggested my Boyfriend try the Grilled Salmon and he loved it. I had the eye fillet because that is what I love. We both thought the Cheesy Garlic Bread was delicious. The bistro has a pleasant ambience and is just really well presented. Could not fault anything.

Had my first visit and had an Asian Chicken Salad. It was freshly made and tasted amazing. My boyfriend's burger was great too.

Great Tavern. Around 30 of us arrived within an hour at the Tavern unannounced on a Tuesday night. The staff were very friendly, the food was lovely and very filling, and considering we arrived without notice we did not wait long at all for our meals to come out to us. We were all very happy with the hospitalilty and will be returning. Keep up the great work!!

We’re local through and through and occasionally we dine here on a Thursday night. Each time we have notice the service get worse and worse. A few weeks ago we were shown to our table, it wasn’t busy, we waited 40 minutes to be served. After waiting an hour for our meals I asked up at the counter what was going on, only to be told, sorry we don’t have your order. Lol. So last night we thought we would give it another go. We were shown to our table, we weren’t asked if we would like a drink to start with, waitress just walked off. No problem I’ll go to the bar and get our drinks. Waited in line for 5 minutes while one person served and the manager just standing there looking over. Returned to our table as my wife and I chatted over our drinks for 40 minutes. Not one staff member approached us as they cleaned tables around us. It wasn’t late, around 7pm. This will no longer be our local. Your service and ignorance is pathetic. I’ve never seen a business with so many staff that just don’t care. I approached the girt who showed us to our table and explained this is ridiculous. Not once did she try to take our order, just said I’m sorry. You guys need a massive shake up. Change your menu that you’ve had for over 5 years and acknowledge your locals. We won’t be back.

We have dined here before and ordered the pork roast. The service and the food was amazing and the serving size was awesome. Unfortunately today it was not so. Serving size was small and there was no crackling and roast veggies were almost raw, and there was no service to speak of as we had to order our drinks and meal from the counter as no one came near us 😡 Waitress did however give us a free beer for the fact that there was no crackling.

Started off at the Sports Bar, one drink, bit noisy went outside nice pleasant atmosphere. Tables clean neat tidy. One toilet available disability friendly. Entry to main area again wheelchair acessible. Booked in advance. seated quickly, menus on table with table service. Bit of a wait till main wait staff were present then no issue. Orders taken, food delivered in great time. Saw some bad reviews, didnt pay any attention, we shared a pizza some chips garlic bread and a very nice garlic sauce. VFM. They do take away boxes too . Pay at the end at counter, quick and easy. Atmosphere family friendly, tables clean neat tidy and service was good. Food quality was just fine. Glad I didnt listen to some of the other reviews I saw. Each to their own. Good pub grub.

Booked a table for 6:30 was asked 5 minutes after sitting down if we were ready to order and told the staff member we needed a few more minutes we then had to wait until 7:20 before another staff member asked the original one if our order was taken and came over to get our order. We also had to ask twice after waiting 20 minutes for a glass of water where it was. Yes it was boxing day but the place was empty and the staff really didn't look like they wanted to be there at all. We won't be back, there is so many more taverns/pubs to chose from maybe try and be better if you want people to want to come back.

A group of us booked in for Christmas Lunch when booking through their Melbourne office there was a lot of mixed messages when we tried to add extra people it would be better if they let the individual venues manager their own booking. Today everthing was perfect the service, the food was excellent and plenty of it. Well done we will be back. Thank you to the staff for a wonderful meal.

I have been here on a few occasions and really enjoyed the food and service every time. The parmi and fish & chips were delicious 😋 Portions are super generous too, you will definitely leave feeling satisfied. The staff seem happy and the manager is excellent 👍🏼

Great play area for the kids, even gave them pencil cases and colouring sheets, reasonably priced food and very generous servings! The ribs are fall of the bone ribs and the southern fried chicken burger is a huge portion for the price! Friendly and relatively fast service. We will definitely return.

We really enjoy going here with our kids who love the playground. It allows us to have a nice meal and the kids can play. I always get the schnitzel and it is wonderful. My only recommendation is to throw out the nasty furry bench in the kids room please!!!

This is a really great tavern for a Sunday session on the north end of the Gold Coast. The bar is situated waterside with plenty of car parking available. The venue has a beautiful sunset and plenty of seating available. The food is really amazing and affordably priced. Ideal for groups, families or couples wanting a classy waterside bar for drinks or food. Highly recommended.

Jayden their manager needs his eyes checked. Twice tonight I have been at the bar waiting like a good samaratin and I’ve been cut in front of twice now…. The manager has seen clear as day I was in line first and he proceeded to serve other people first… so disrespectful. Not feeling it at all, I’m off it tbh, usually staff here are nice but this guy is a joke

Nice pub meals really enjoyed them, except I had the rump medium well, big mistake on my part should have got medium. Wife had eye fillet and son had chicken schnitzel and sons fiancee had a pizza.
