Such a fun, family friendly place to visit on the Gold Coast. Probably took us about 1 1/2 hrs to go through without children. Great price for entry fee, and we highly recommend doing the 7D movie! It is so much fun!

We absolutely loved it here! The 7D game/movie experience was so fun, the mirror maze was hilarious as I kept getting stuck and the walk through museum is actually worth the money. There was so much to read, interact with and see. The staff were so friendly and sweet. I'd definitely recommend

Ripley's believe it or not at Surfer Paradise is defiantly a place to check out while you are in town or even as a local. It really is fun for the whole family. There are so many things to so, lots of interactive parts to play with or make your mind wonder how or why lol. I was sure about this place at first but really am glad we did it. Got some excellent silly photos that I will be able to look back on for years to come.

So much fun! They have the newer attractions and things to view, including the maze of mirrors, and 4D games to play, Maze of mirrors is a lot of fun and not scary at all, there are a couple of spots where we walked into glass but didn’t take much to find the right door lol … and you hear others laughing and see others as well…. and the 4D virtual game playing is where you pick from 6 possible games to play - (3 scary and 3 non scary), seats up to 7 at a time, huge fans mean you really feel the wind rushing by etc, plus you can watch from outside on both camera as well as the large TV, and winners are shown at the end of each round Plenty to see inside, some fantastic, fun, weird, strange (and some gross) interesting things to see and do…. There is something for everyone ….. Good pricing, not wheelchair/some disabilities friendly as you need to go down a set of stairs to access the museum…. Have not put up many photos because that would ruin the surprise for you when you go….. Great family/friends day out and easy to find ….

This was much better than I thought - family had a blast and right in the middle of surfers. Add on the 7D ride at the end which you can reuse the tickets for only $6 a ride for a whole week. Check the pics. A lot of fun. Worth it.

We were unsure when we booked this if our three-year-old would enjoy it, answer to that is yes we all thoroughly loved it we did the 7D experience at the start which was truly amazing a little bit scary for me but everyone else loved it. We spend about an hour and a half walking through here just taking it all in playing with the interactive areas and just enjoying every single bit of it would really highly recommend it to anyone.

Great fun, highly recommend it. Agree with some of the other reviews that it may not be suitable for <5 year old as the museum require a bit of reading and some of it can be a bit scary. There are however still a lot of fun/ science museum like activities in the second half for the little ones to play. I came with my 7 and 5 yo and we totally enjoyed it. The 7D cinema with laser shooting was great fun and my 5yo went twice. It's a bit expensive on it's fun but reasonable price to get it as combo, $6 for your second ride.

We really enjoyed our time at Ripley’s Believe it or not today. The person we dealt with from beginning to end was fabulous- really informative about how everything worked. The place is kept well, and had lots of interesting exhibits. I REALLY loved the 7D ride, we choose Penny Lane - highly recommend!! WAY better than the new Scoobi 4D at movie world !! It’s definitely worth the price, and really entertaining!

Great experience! 7D was AMAZING! We tried "Carnival" and it was like being in a horror movie! The exhibits are great! Fun way to learn about some pretty bizarre findings from all over the world. Would highly recommended. Don't think about doing it! Just do it!

Have been to a couple of Ripley’s while overseas. This one is just as good as any of them they are all different. You can spend a couple of hours there and that’s what we did. So much to see, read and touch. Just a fascinating place. Exhibit after exhibit so much interesting stuff. Loved it! If you’ve never been to a Ripley’s do yourself a favour and check it out. We also did the 7D ride, not sure how it was 7D but it was fun anyway. We chose the Carnival ride. You are strapped in seats, given 3D glasses and a ‘laser’ gun. The ride is like you are on a roller coaster you have to shoot villains etc. it was fun not scary. There are 2 other supposedly scary rides, I just found it fun and there are 3 child oriented rides. The cost for the museum and ride x 2 was $72. Loved it!

Interesting, funny, shocking, a mind opening exhibition with interactive activities! The 7D experience was fun too. Definitely a place to feed the curious mind and spend hours learning about this bizarre world.

I highly recommend Ripley's believe it or not, I took my son on the weekend, and he loved it! Only down fall was that a main attraction (the one I wanted him to see) wasn't working...OTHER then that, had a great time. There was alot of stuff to read and do, fun for all the family

Such an interesting place. Used to be quite fascinated by Ripley's Believe it or Not books and TV show. It was very nostalgic and even more fascinating to see all those things in real. a lot of fun things to do in there as well. 7D cinema was good with the effects; but the length could've been a bit longer. A lot of fun overall. Recommended 👍

Amazing experience with loads to explore and look at. Large variety of different exhibits that ensures there is something for everyone to enjoy. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend giving them a visit to explore the different exhibits. The mirror maze was also very enjoyable and fun.

We had such fun! There’s a little something for everyone. The 7D experience was awesome. You could spend hours looking at all the displays.

Visited during midweek lunchtime, extremely busy, lots of tourists families and the curiuos, priced up there with others, big giftshop, entry and you can wander around for hours, some great displays and some average ones, it's very well visited and shows. 3D theatre experience aswell but have to wait as limited seat spaces. didn't take photo's inside was too much to see and nothing really stood out, mostly all fun facts and interesting displays to make you think What the? A tourist destination for the adventurous.

What an absurdly good place to peak one's fancy at such a strange collection of...things? Spent alot longer than I would have thought (couple of hours) wandering through and checking out all the bizarre and wonderful exhibits. The museum is set out as a one way path, so take your time and check out everything at one's leisure! (You can back track. Sort of. We may have run the laser challenge a few times). Went on a Saturday evening and had plenty of space to enjoy all the exhibits. Not going to spoil by posting too many photos! Go enjoy it for yourself!

I'm absolutely in love with this place. I went 3 times on a 3 day holiday and would definitely go back another 3 times. Great fun for all ages and full of weird and interesting things. The only downside is that its not long enough! Worth every penny!

The staff were really friendly and helpful. The exhibits were pretty interesting. We bought the $124 family pack, which included the exhibits, the Laserace and the 7D movie. It felt a little expensive for what it was. The Laserace was out of action which was a shame as it was what my son was looking forward to most. My 6 and 8 year olds weren’t super interested in most of the exhibits, but there were enough interactive exhibits to keep them engaged. The 7D cinema was pretty cool, probably a little short.

Plan for approximately one hour at the museum itself. Additionally, allocate around 15 minutes for the 7D experience and another 15 to 20 minutes for the mirror maze. The museum is a unique and fascinating place filled with an eclectic collection of oddities and curiosities from around the world. However, I recommend against bringing children between the ages of 5 and 10 unless they are fearless. Some of the exhibits can be quite spooky or unsettling, which might not be suitable for younger children. On the flip side, toddlers may find some of the interactive displays in the museum quite entertaining. The 7D experience and the mirror maze were definite highlights of the visit. Both kids and adults in my group thoroughly enjoyed these attractions. The 7D experience is an immersive and thrilling ride that adds an extra dimension to the already intriguing world of Ripley's. The mirror maze, on the other hand, provided a fun challenge as we navigated our way through a maze of reflections. However, it's worth noting that Ripley's Believe It or Not! can be a bit expensive, so be prepared for the cost. It's a unique and entertaining experience, but the price tag might be steep for some visitors.

One of the most fascinating collections of weird and wacky oddities you're likely to come across. From cannibal trophies, to artwork comprised of slices of toast, to a lock of Elvis' hair, it is impossible to predict what you are going to run into next at this museum. Each section is very well thought-out and presented and keeps things fresh as you explore them, and the interactivity is plentiful and I would highly recommend going with friends to get the most of out them. Some things I want to point out though, I wish some of the interactive portions didn't require money to operate (the grip strength machine, the shooting gallery etc.) as you are already paying a decent entry free to get in, and while the 7D ride and mirror maze are ok they do feel completely disconnected from the Ripley brand and a little tacked-on. Otherwise, this is a museum that is pretty impossible to get bored in (probably the single best one in Australia to bring kids along to) and there's always something unbelievable just around the corner waiting for you.

Ripley's Believe It or Not! has always been one of my favourite things to do at the gold coast! when my bro and i went, our experience was amazing! the staff at this place are some of the best i have seen anywhere, they are all friendly, and are always happy to chat during your stay! We did the 7D cinema and the maze and they were amazing! i prefer the cinema, but the maze was good too! Will definitely be coming back here in the future!

My son (9) and I went with no exceptions and had a fun time. Mirror maze was super neat and 7D movie/game was fun .. wish it was longer. My son loved the museum he said it was interesting to read about the interesting items and loved how things were so interactive.

Ripley's was a great couple hours of fun for the kids. As long as they don't rush through and read all the facts! Very affordable for a family of 4-5. Highly recommend and will be back.

11yr old Kids went in alone & did not come out for 1.5hrs because they enjoyed it so much. Cost was $50 for the two kids so pretty good value. The staff were really friendly & helpful.

All three of us went to Ripley's for our last day before our flight back. We went on the Monday morning and it wasn't busy, we could move around easily and stop and look at each oddity and read all the back stories plus play all the games. Each room has a different theme and there are some really interesting artefacts too. We particularly liked hunting for some of the more hidden secrets (no spoilers). The staff were very helpful, my youngest needed to leave the museum for a sudden stop, the staff quickly directed us out and then allowed us to go back and finish the rest of the museum after he was back (thank you). We spent about 1.5 hours inside the museum. 9yo says: 4.6 stars 14yo says: 4.3 stars

Good way to spend a few hours, there is so much to look at!!! Painted crickets, two-headed cows, one-eyed sheep, duct tape chewbacca, shrunken heads, trick mirrors, the list goes on! Half of it you ask yourself is this real or not!? 😄

Exotic and spectacular, certainly a place to go for those into fun and weird wonders that the world and people have to offer. I recently visited Ripley’s Believe It or Not while staying in the Gold Coast. It was good fun and had many wacky and weird artefacts to see. You can read through many interesting historical facts about Ripley’s collection, and learn more about different cultural practices. There are also lots of artefacts which are interactive and entertaining. It took us about an hour and a bit to walk through the whole museum, which then we moved onto the 7D cinema experience was also pretty cool! Just ensure if you are taking kids to do the 7D cinema experience to not choose a scary one as it might frighten them. Additionally, staff were lovely to talk to! I would recommend Ripley’s for all ages. You can buy tickets online or at the door. But I would suggest buying them online so you can just head in straight away. Overall great place to visit!

  • 5/5 Kyla H. 9 months ago on Google
