We had the most fantastic experience going on the Catcha Crab tour. I honestly don’t know what was better, the customer service from the exception tour guide or the activities themselves. We felt that our host made a point to connect with us and engage with us personally during the morning, enhancing the experience. It was a fun day out for the whole family, regardless of age, everyone enjoyed themselves. From feeding birds, pumping for yabbies, fishing and of course, catching crabs, the morning was action packed and very well timed. We never felt rushed or too much time was spent in one area and not another. We learnt so much too.

Too much excitement with feeding the fish / birds, the cruise, fishing, catching our baits in the water, pulling the cage out of the water for the crabs, and of course the highlight was eating all the crabs! So much fun and so yummy! It wasn't cheap (average $160 per person for 3 hours, including food) but time will spent! The manager and crew members were so nice and helpful. It was just 'our luck' to be on the full boat with the international students......

No time for crab catching, I visited with my wife and kids in normal day. There are 4 activities in total feeding seagull around 15 mins, fishing 20 mins, catching bait 20 mins and pulling out a rope with a cage which may be preload with crab in only 10 seconds. The time is very rush and we were urge to move out from the end of the boat and we even dont have time to take a photo in how we put out the rope. The arrangement is awful. If you want to experience pulling out a rope in 10 second with A$70 it is the place to go. Apart from that the food is overpriced and the quality is poor I can say that the staff is nice but in general it not worth to go. After reading the reply from the owner, they are really overclaiming that they do not provide oyster farm demonatration, no pelican feeding it is seagull, no crab show, no crab holding. Just a guy using 30 second to tell u how to distinguish male and female crab. They mention the service will be rush and poor in high season, It is further more disappointed. As a matter of fact, thy They are giving free voucher for next visit but who are willing to fly a long way and waste another day there?

Very great experience. Catch a crab was very unique and special. Booking in advance is a must. Main focus was to catch a crab. Pumping yabbis and oyster farm visit was depend on tide condition. This round we missed yabbies and oyster farm. But pulling the crab trap out of water and saw the crabs trapped inside the trap was eye opener. Listened to commentary about oyster, crab and fishing was interesting. The only cons is the transport. Coming from gold coast surfers paradise must booking with uber about AUD60 per way for 40 minutes. But return trip was very challenging. No uber want to take us from this remote location. There was a bus station in the entrance road of catch a crab tour but the bus only operate one to 2 trip per day. End up We need to walk 1km to nearest bus stop and take a 601 bus to nearest city then take another bus 700 to broadbeach South station. The return trip took us 2 and a half hours include walking, waiting time, transit and bus duration.

Nice place. Way to expensive.. We ordered the Karage chicken bowl. No flavour in the chicken or any sauce for the rice. Disappointing for $26! Also ordered the beef burger, the burger was ok at best but for $22 I was expecting ALOT better.. the Patty was half the size of the bun! you’d get a better burger for half the price at your local fish and chip shop. Not to mention the said they were “out” of lettuce. But we kept seeing burgers go past our table with lettuce. Annoying. Staff are nice I’ll give them that. My two cents is it’s just a tourist trap. Iv lived here for 30 years and will never return until they lower their prices or at least give you chips with your $22 burger! Ridiculous If you go here just buy the seafood which I’m sure is good. But be expected to pay through the bloody roof. Very disappointing

This place is completely under-rated. Took my son there and it was so much fun. It was perfect - two hours total and you get to feed the fish at the wharf before boarding; go yabby hunting; catch a crab; go fishing. It is a family run place, and you do feel really welcomed throughout the whole trip - bonus for kids too. We went in the afternoon and I would recommend you come early and get lunch first - fresh oysters, fresh crabs, huge piece of fish and chips - yum!

Absolutely fantastic experience, so many different activities, that we felt truly a part of! Thanks for the staff for being so engaging, friendly and accommodating! Definitely recommended, great for all ages. To those who want to come from QLD: make sure you check your time zone - tour starts at 10 NSW time!

My wife, 3 daughters (8, 6 and 2) and I just had one of the best family outings ever. Right at the beginning we were given fish to feed the pelicans, then we caught yabbies and soldier crabs with that great pump and home made siv system they have, then the kids got to pull up a crab pot with three ginormous mud crabs, and my eldest caught her first fish. Throughout there was a very informative and humorous commentary and so, between that and all the activities, there wasn't a dull moment. The seafood lunch (we added the fresh crabs and oysters) was excellent too. Very easy and relaxing, a rare outcome when travelling with a two year old. I can't recommend this experience enough!!!

Just loved it......Took my granddaughter and had the best morning ever. Reminded me what life was like when I was growing and nice to get back to basics. Food excellent and a good variety, either with the package or they also have a menu to order from, we opted for the seafood platter package and couldn't eat it all even though we gave it a good try. Staff very friendly and helpful. Well done Catch a Crab.

The experience was unique: the captain complimented the journey, 1st mate and deck hand were very helpful. I wish the journey could have lasted for longer. Thoroughly enjoyed by Mum, Dad and a young son. Highly recommended for young families!

Very unhappy with the venue poor menu staff struggled to give us a price on oysters and everything else then the once we received were small and not worth the price, when trying to talk to the manager she was extremely rude and didn't want to help. This is no restersunt only a sit down cafe. In my option I have never received such poor service in my life. If I could give this a no star I would!

Fun place to do some activities and defintiely kids friendly. We were pulling out crab trap, bird feeding, catching yabbie, fishing (despite got none) and a bit of crab knowledge from the team. I would recommend you to purchase the lunch too. Especially if you enjoy crab. They serve you a freshly cooked seafood and I absolutely enjoy the delicacy. Another note is, if you afraid of motion sickness, the boat is running on river that has no wave, I am a bit sensitive with motion, but felt nothing while I was on board.

Worth the visit. Managed to catch crab, yuppies and fish. Fed the pelicans, birds and fishes. End the tour with a seafood platter and fresh Sydney rock oysters. The timing is Queensland time 9:30am or New South Wales time 10:30am. We thought it was 9:30am NSW time and arrived 1 hour too early!

Absolutely fantastic experience, from the pre setoff seagull feeding (while waiting for all the passengers to arrive) to the cruise for the crab catching, yabby pumping, fishing was great. We pulled up 3 crabs, pumped up a bunch of yabbies and mini baby crabs on the sand banks but was unable to catch any fishes (but some other passengers managed to catch some decent fishes!). The complimentary beverages and snacks was welcoming and the guide was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of interesting information. we only got wet to our shin. So wearing Bermudas or shorts is fine. you will go down barefoot on to the sand banks so best to wear slippers or aqua shoes for the trip. We signed up for the lunch package and it was not bad too. Lunch was served back on land at the restaurant. The seafood platter includes crab, fish and chips and salad. Fish and chips is as the name implies - fish and chips with salad. Free water is available. Free parking outside the compound is available if you are driving. We enjoyed ourselves and this is one experience we will not soon forget and would recommend this to anyone.

Great Day Out With Captain Dave and Tara. Very knowledgeable and helpful learnt a lot about Mud Crabs and Oysters and Other Marine Species In the Tweed River. Highly recommended for family trip holiday and finish it off with a delicious seafood meal with mud crabs and oysters.

Everything was ok until I asked the guy who was riding the boat for 1 more pump for my self . He didn’t even explain the reasons why I should not ask for more pumps or can nicely explain to me but just shouted at me “ your group has enough , GO AWAY! “ too rude and impolite. I couldn’t believe how can he said that to his own customers even giving another pump cost him nothing .

If you're looking for a truly unforgettable Gold Coast experience, I highly recommend the Catch a Crab tour! From start to finish, this tour is an absolute blast. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by David, our caption who was incredibly engaging and knowledgeable about the area. The tour itself is a perfect mix of adventure and relaxation, as you get to explore the beautiful waterways of the Gold Coast while learning about the local ecosystem and wildlife. We also got to enjoy some unique experiences, like feeding pelicans & seagulls, pumping yabbies, and the highlight, of course, is catching your own crabs! The seafood lunch was absolutely delicious - the BEST mud crab I’ve ever had! This was a truly amazing experience and something never to be forgotten. Thank you Dave and the team!

Best itinerary for this trip. Learn a lot from the guide. Fishing, cratching crabs, yabbie pumping, bird feedings, etc.

Paid money for nothing. What was caught had to leave on the boat. Not allowed to take the crab home. Paid $253 for 2.5 HR boat tour. Do not expect much. Spend your money somewhere else. 👎☹️

The Oyster Shed: Oysters are fresh here!! Must try. Too tasty to forget to take a photo …. 4 adults had 6 dozens oysters… Rest of food are also amazing too. Unfortunately, just rain and the water is so muddy. That’s why we couldn’t get the tour. We definitely come back again.

I did the Catch a Crab tour yesterday with fiancé and her little 14 yr old teenage sister who was visiting from the US. Captain Daz and crew were fantastic and we all really enjoyed ourselves. We learnt interesting facts about the ecosystem and the food at the end of the day was delicious too. Thanks again for great memories.

Great service. Expensive oysters that were not the best quality for the price. Check out Richmond Oysters in Ballina for best quality and price.

This might be the best trip of my journey. The whole trip was about two and a half hours. Each activity was very enjoyable, and the captain was very handsome and humorous, the assistant was stunningly beautiful. The only downside was that the fishing time was a bit short. Nevertheless, I highly recommend everyone to come here and enjoy an unforgettable and wonderful experience. P.S. It seems that your official Instagram account was broken. In that case, I would greatly appreciate it if you could share the Instagram account of the captain and the assistant. I'd love to connect with them directly and continue following their journeys. Thank you in advance!"

👍👍 Nice relaxing music on a Saturday morning, loads of different types of seating inside the caffe and out in the sunshine. A good place to chill out if you have had a big nite around the area. Nice service from the girl making coffee. This place I will return to with friends.
