One of our favorite dog beaches so far! There are two options: you can retreat to the creek, which could be mistaken for a dogs' paradise: there are simply too many dogs to count (unfortunately some can be less friendly), or walk a couple hundred meters up to the less busy "beach beach". Our dog is very submissive and can get scared of more "enthusiastic" dogs, so we walked up to the beach where she was able to fetch a ball, and play with other dogs IF she wants to. The water is calmer at the creek, so if your puppy is afraid of big waves, then the creek might be the best option for you.

One of the best dog beaches around! Waves on the beach side, or calmer water on the creek side. Plenty of room for the dogs, there are showers and water facilities close by, but the car park can get busy on weekends!

great place for dogs, and my dog loves it here. there is calm water in the estuary and then there is the open beach which has a big sandbank which calms the waves down so it makes the beach more friendly. there are many dogs here and its good place for your dog to meet other dogs. the dogs are of various sizes, temperaments and training levels, we go almost daily and have never seen anything bad happen or had anything bad happen to my dog. The problem with it, like everything in convict-wealth of Australia are the peasant bogan bilge dwellers who got stuck in their emotional development somewhere between 12-15 years of age ... it's not uncommon to have to deal with these low peasant Cro-Magnon types in this area. Unfortunately, Queensland is full of the convict offspring from the days of the Brisbane penal colony and all the god fearing red haired English people who settled the land. It really is a shame that the aboriginal custodians of this land didn't eat all of the convict peasent ancestors so they wouldn't be here now.

Amazing off leash dog beach with plenty of open space, shallow swimming areas and plenty of dogs to socialise with. There’s several water fountains and foot wash stations with the opportunity to give your dog a quick rinse too. Toilet facilities near the main beach entrance and parking can become quite difficult during busy periods.

Go there each Monday with Micky, a great place except that there is no garbage bins for the poo bags and consequently you can see poo bags thrown in the bush, additionally there are no poo bags available on the beach so you need to get them before you hit the beach. Needs more trees or shade at the entrance to the beach, you have to bolt like crazy over the hot sand for about 40 meters. There is a dog wash by the toilets with water trays for the dogs.

A great dog beach with choice of both calm water and surf. Best to go here early in the morning though or week days as it gets too busy and parking is impossible.

So many dogs and a cafe is here. Great place to bring your whole family, there's a really good playground for young kids and seats around the outside where you can sit with your dog and watch the kids.

A great place for dogs and to socialize your dog. 90-95% of people pick up after their dog. There are 2 sides to the beach one for dogs and one for people who don't want to deal with dogs. It's quite protected by winds and perfect for swimming. Decent parking, but be ready to park out on the street or across the road on weekends.

One of the best places to take your dog, normally quite busy with a lot of dogs for your fur baby to run around with. Mine jump into the calm waters for a swim and then for a walk along the beach, there is also a cafe of your feeling pekish

This beach is awesome, every time we go for a walk, with or without our dog, the other dogs are so well behaved. The Dunes Cafe is close by and also very dog friendly.

Loved this off leash dog beach. Well worth a visit if you're in the area with plenty of parking, public bathrooms, a dog friendly cafe and even dog friendly beach showers.

Great beach, nice people walking their dogs, this off leash dog park is beautiful the water is beautiful and clean, dog owners are respectful and clean up after their dogs, thanks to the Gold Coast Council for providing this great place for dogs and their human pets.

Great place to walk with our dog cause there is both still water and surf beaches, plenty of room and distance and all the owners are responsible about controlling their dogs.

Excellent for the medium to big dogs to have a run and swim off the lead. Small dogs best to go later on. Beautiful on sunset too.

Always an awesome vibe here especially if you love dogs!! So many different breeds and most are keen for a pat and the hoomans who are either getting walked by the dogs or carried usually don't mind a pat either πŸ€£πŸ•πŸΆ

Brilliant dog beach. Best on the coast. Not only is it XL, but you have the choice of either the sheltered Creek or the ocean beach, plus due to the local geography, regardless of the wind direction you can always find somewhere to hide if the breeze picks up. We all love it - the dogs especially!

What a beautiful spot for dogs and humans alike! The lagoon is perfect for a swim and the water is shallow enough for dogs to swim. I love that amenities are conveniently close by too. The Dune cafe is also around the corner for your crisp cold ice latte fix. I ended up picking up an Arancini ball based on the positive reviews, but honestly it was really bland.

  • 5/5 Keith S. 3 years ago on Google
The dune cafe by the water is magnificent I had a banana smoothie fantastic plus the best carrot cake on the gold coast and the dog loved even better with a swim at the beach with her canine friends

New pup to water, awesome time. Everyone friendly, no dog fights. Probably a bin or two along the tree line to dispose of dog waste would be good.

Love palm beach. Very local, very friendly, become the best beach on the coast.

  • 5/5 Kenneth S. 4 years ago on Google
As far as dog beaches go in South East Queensland, the beaches on the Gold Coast are difficult to beat... only those on the Sunshine Coast come close. Of the beaches on the Gold Coast, the Palm Beach off lead area is always excellent. The scenery is beautiful, the people friendly and when you and you dog are ready to call it quits, there is the Dune Cafe to stop and enjoy a latte before jumping in the car for the drive home. The only issue really is the parking, which can be a bit precarious at times, but if you are lucky enough to find a park straight up or have a reasonable level of patience with the fairly quick turnover, you and your pooch will be well rewarded for your efforts. The off-lead dog area of Palm Beach is well worth the trip.

This is the best dog park ever. Acres of off leash beach, surf on the east beach, bayside shallows on the west side. Popular, but never overcrowded. My dog loves it. He doesn't like waves, so we stay on the western bayside beach. He loves to stalk fish in the shallows, and meet other dogs and people. Did I mention its a sandy beach... typical Gold Coast. Our toddler loves the sand and water.

Lovely quiet beach where you can have your dog's offleash which is great! Still water, little sandbanks and lots of shade. Shallow water for splashing but can also swim.

Great place for dogs with surf and calm water. Cafe and lots of shade to relax afterwards. Highly recommend! We never get sick of this Beach!

Nice big beach with plenty of room, a little shade up near the trees. Clean beach even though full of dogs, everyone cleans up and never had an issue with any aggressively dogs. Good for all the family, people are very respectful to keep their dogs away from your blanket areas though the odd pup will come say hello anyway! Great for dog families.

No dog fights as they are all just over the moon, don't have a dog but I can watch them for hours early morning late afternoon, a treat as it's like a dog show with no restrictions just happiness

Best place ever to take your dog for some socialising.. More breeds of dogs walking around than I have ever seen anywhere. All well behaved. Great beaches. Great location. Parking can be a challenge but park in nearby streets (over other side of main road). 10/10 for doggy and sun fun. Fun for the whole family.

Well, these dogs look pretty happy to me. This off leash area is huge and not just some fenced in block of grass. Heaps of variety and places to be at leisure with your pet family.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ There’s a huge amount of space here for dogs that to play off leash in the grass or in the water. There’s a nice little section of beach so you can sit while your dog goes for a swim. Because the grass area is so large, it’s easy to get away from other dogs if you’ve got a new puppy or a dog not ful...
