Our favourite spot for day trips. 45 minutes drive from south Brisbane. Heaps of shade, great at high high and low tide. Lots of paddle boarders and families with their snorkels. While technically you aren't meant to go bridge jumping, it's a local tradition, so there is a lot of foot traffic at the entrance. Further up the track you will find more privacy :)

As an ex-Sydneysider with access to Bondi Beach. I am surprised to hear myself say wow wow wow wow wow wow wow. Surfers Paradise beach is stunning. After spending all day in the sun, you can come in and eat at a variety of options from fast food to fine dining. Shopping close by, or even on the sand on Wednesdays Fridays and Sundays at the markets. Gold Coast beaches are the best! Who doesnโ€™t want to live with a view like that.

Nice and relaxing. Good bush tracks and lots of nice shady spots. You need to carry beach gear in but could use tracks. No immediate parking. Safe water activities for kids.

As a local resident I despise this time of year due to the traffic delays the race causes, just to see cars drive around in circles. Doesn't make any sense to me, extremely boring to watch and annoying to live anywhere near the track. If I could give zero stars I would.

an absolutely beautiful little hidden gem, itโ€™s more of a creek than a beach! 10/10, most definitely recommend especially if you have little ones! Water is shallow majority of the way through and lots of shade!

Echo beach is one of the nicest spots on the Gold Coast thatโ€™s family and kid friendly. No huge waves to scare the youngsters and shallow waters letโ€™s the little ones play safely. The scenery around is just beautiful. Parking is available nearby along with toilets. Opposite you have Tallebudgera Creek and lots of other different amenities.

Sandy area (at low tide) inside mouth of Tallabudgera Creek. Notorious as a a dangerous place to go in the water due to creek current and tidal flows. Dangerous even for experienced swimmers. People have drowned in Tallabudgera Creek.

Great street circuit with excellent public transport options. I highly recommend getting the g:link light rail and this is a good option whether you are travelling from the North or South. Just be prepared for a bit of a walk if you are using some of the "middle" entrances.

It's down a track in the national park, as are other little beach areas. I love it there as the aquamarine water reminds me of the Greek islands.

  • 4/5 Dan B. 2 years ago on Google
Really great spot with the river on one side and the surf on the other. Parking is limited, though, so get there early.

  • 5/5 Ray W. 1 year ago on Google
Nice relaxing calm water beach location on Tallebudgera Creek in the Burleigh Heads National Park. Depending on the tide the creek can be crystal clear and on a recent visit the channel was about 4m deep. The tides can make the water move through this area quite fast.

Great little beach. Could use some more street signs for directions. The toilets smelled bad. Wish there was a Woolworths or Coles nearby. Echo beach reminds me of the 1980 song by Canadian group Martha and the Muffins. From nine till five I have to spend my time at work The job is very boring, I'm an office clerk The only thing that helps pass the time away Is knowing I'll be back at Echo Beach some day

One of my top pic spots to visit in the gold coast. This little cove is super family friendly and the water was lovely! Only a short walk from the carpark, which had bathrooms and showers. We spent hours here! And plenty of shade !!

  • 4/5 Nick E. 4 years ago on Google
Quiet spot to enjoy the calm, clear waters. Watch your young ones because the riverbed drops steeply and the shallow flats can easily turn into a drowning trap. While you're here, extend the fun by taking a short bush walk in the national park to Burleigh Beach, taking time to read the information plaques along the way and look up to spot koalas in the trees; look carefully where the tree limbs branch of from one another, creating a sort of seat. The koalas are hard to spot because they seldom move, but they're there. Also visit the aboriginal centre while you're here. They have great artworks and handcrafts available to buy. If you time your visit right you'll enjoy a traditional dance and music show for a small fee to support the centre and the local indigenous community.

The two sides of the beach are both nice, Tallebudgera creek side is patrolled by lifeguards, and the other side usually has larger amounts of people on the bridge side

  • 5/5 Michael K. 6 years ago on Google
This place is the perfect escape during your visit. You can come out to this beach early in the morning and watch the sunrise from here. It is a feeling that cannot be described. Enjoyed every bit of it. It is true what the locals say about QLD it sure is the holiday state :) Everyone out here is in the vacation mode no talks about work or anything like that.
