Unfortunately this place is not middle eastern. The food we ordered was not amazing even though the reviews say otherwise. The spices and herbs couldn’t help the food from being bland and tasteless and there was way too much “hummus” in our pockets to even eat them. I’m not that guy, so I hope this helps anyone looking for lunch at Burleigh.

They claim to be the best falafel in GC and absolutely Don't disappoint! Great food.

Pretty disappointing. Perhaps new management but The Pocket used to be awesome with huge plates of salad. I ordered the trio plate for $23.90 on Saturday asking for no chips, thinking I might get a little extra salad instead. (With the kombucha this cost $29.00 all up)... The second picture is after I approached the staff and had a somewhat awkward interaction to kindly ask for more salad, for which they obliged. Not great value for money tho - mostly chips.

We are here a couple weeks ago, and I was super disappointed. My husband and I ordered Shakshuka and a platter. The Shakshuka was TINY and the eggs were chalky and overcooked. The platter was mediocre as well. Other things on the menu might be a better option but I can only go based on what we ordered.

I guess i am to blame here. Hadn't been here for a couple of years, but was a regular customer and was a favourite place to eat. there is new owner/management, and my fav. go-to meal falafel pocket is totally different even though it basically looks like the same place it was. All of the flavour finesse from the previous owners is gone. dry, bland and riding on the coattails of the previous management most likely to cost cutting and maybe a lack of understanding of how good it WAS and why it was loved and successful. It was a high standard to maintain and carry over, but im sure they had the recipes and menus supplied., the name should be changed to reflect the difference in menu, as its not the same 'The Pocket'. would get 2 stars if my pocket was $5, not $15.. Sorry, but it's the truth. hopefully the owner can turn it around to what it was. good luck.

This place is awful under new management! It is not Mediterranean food anymore. Over priced, dirty with rude staff! I ordered trio skewers and the meat was oily and under cooked the salad seems been prepared a few days ago!

Their falafel and breakfast pockets are delicious but their service is extremely slow. A good location by the beach with plenty of paid parking. Friendly family owned business but they need more staff.

The dips and falafel are delicious but service is terrible. Waited for 45 min for the veggie special. It is really stressful when you only have a short break from work in the same sidewalk. They don’t follow a standard for service. Been there before and the presentation of the plate was completely different. This time, mushrooms full of oil, halloumi dripping oil too. The salad was terrible. They don’t appear to have qualified staff when it gets super busy. Also they don’t follow the order of the docked. Feeling disappointed when it could be an amazing food experience.

Yummy hearty fresh food, that came quickly. No onion in the salads, which is great. We were advised to downsize our order, which was welcome advice, and shows the staff are genuine. We got complementary bubbly water too. Highly recommended.

Fresh food and excellent service! We got the Mezza plate and were surprised how far it went between two people. We also had fresh lemonade to go with it. The staff were also lots of fun and very careful to handle our food so there was no meat or gluten contamination. Would happily eat here again!

Very happy. We went there today on the take-end of a mad falafel craving and regretted it not in the least. The proprietor met us on the other side of the counter and literally went through the menu with us making some great suggestions. The restaurant is a great choice of all types of eating disciplines. Most of the good stuff is dairy free and you can have as much or as little meat as you're in the mood for. We chose the small Mezza plate, and a large chips in the side. I tend to go too far into details, but I won't here. The food was awesome. Everything from the falafels to the eggplant was loaded with flavour. The hummus was smooth and we got some (free) with our chips as well. So happy. We ate (and bloody hell, can we eat) well for $30. Go to this place!

Why do you close at 3pm??? I don’t think I ever feel like felafel at ant time earlier than 1pm.... this makes no sense! You’re only open for 4 hours a day.... that is seriously weird.

overall a great experience! the staff were so friendly and genuine as they checked up on us. they have good vegan options, fast service, and the food was so delicious. would definitely recommend eating here with friends :))

This place is amazing! The food is delicious (good vegetarian options) and reasonably priced, the staff are lovely and the rosewater lemonade is to die for. I don't eat anywhere else when I travel to Burleigh.

The falafel pocket was good, the chicken not so good. Meat tasted old. Other than that really nice spot.

We came few weeks ago and the food was lovely. This time the food was very cold, and the owner start arguing that the salads made it cold. I wouldn't recommend it for the lack of consistency.

Fast and healthy and inexpensive food. We drank coconut flavored beer which was very tasty and mango juice. The staff was great and accommodating. The avocado smash with added bacon and poached eggs was divine and ever so tasty. The bacon was a great cut, portion and from a good brand with heaps of flavour. The coffee was brewed and made well. Its soft flavours pervaded ones taste buds with caffeine. A great little place, well staffed, reasonably priced and one to revisit for sure.

Pretty disappointing actually. Small portions, not good value for money, average food, never has everything on the menu available.

My partner and I enjoy getting the mezze platter and making up our own falafel pita pockets. I like the variety of fillings and sauces (hummus and baba ghanoush) and everything tastes pretty fresh ! 🤤It's also a pretty cheap weeknight dinner option for us and we always feel satisfied. The girl working is also always super polite and welcoming ! Edit: Unfortunately during my last visit i saw a whole flock of fruit flies in their fridge cabinet where they keep all the salads and ingredients for the falafel pockets and therefore have been a little turned off on returning. Hopefully the hygiene standards get a little better as the food itself is usually very good
