Took a group here. The volunteers were great at sharing the local history, while others had wondered through the many buildings.

Visited as part of a tour. We were served morning tea under the shade. Jam, cream and scones were yummy. The lemon slice brought back wonderful memories of baking with my Nana. The exhibitions and buildings were fascinating. The staff were helpful and full of information which they shared with enthusiasm. It’s amazing the wealth of history we have in our own backyard. Heading back again to explore our past very soon.

Some nice colonial history. Printing presses and paraphernalia were cool. Didn’t get much time to wander, so we’ll have to return.

Visited here today. Great collection of items from yesterday in original buildings. Many great old photos and storys of yester year. A great activity for upcoming school holidays 🏚🛝

Beautiful place full of history however if you are bringing a group or booking a tour you may be disappointed. Our tour guide didn’t provide any background info unless people asked questions and answers were really brief. We booked morning tea in cafe but got served under the tree. Scones were tasty but run out of jam. No water was offered at all.

While a large village with big displays not at all set up for disability access. Taking a person with a walker was challenging with several places not able to access. Gravel car park and even entry where you pay with steps and inaccessible. Toilet signs pointed to toilets then had to work out how to go around to find access. Place could be so much better with new paths and access. I am saying this compared to Cleveland or Beaudesert both with superior access. In fairness Beenleigh is by far largest.

Aspects were kinda cool. It was advertised as a family fun day type thing, but the face painter cancelled and the pony rides were cancelled, so 5 kids aged from 3 to 12 all became bored. They all enjoyed the fire truck with the water hose though

Was a family fun day. Unfortunately the petting zoo, facepainting were cancelled. However we had a wonderful family outing! Mr 7 loved the blacksmithing display and Miss 10 enjoyed learning about the printing press. I bought some lovely little handmade gifts and enjoyed some of the best crepes I've ever eaten. Nice to get out for a few hours.

It's my 3rd visit to this interesting collection of old buildings, displays and artifacts to view. Very friendly run and great value and great for kids to learn about the early settlement days.

It's very cute, not as big as some of the other places i have gone. Where to pay entry fee was very confusing, no volunteers around the area anywhere, ended up paying entry at the cafe after our vist, many people had the same issues

Kids loved it . Such an amazing experience for kids and adults. Staff are really friendly, really well priced for a cheap and fun day out,the little Cafe is situated in a beautiful area just beside the aboriginal shows they do at night. Would live to catch that show!

Went for a family day fair. Lots of nice food and you could wander around and see some of the displays.

Absolutely love this place. So much to see and read. So many stories and photos of historical families in the area. It's quite well setup with all the buildings spaced out. There's art as well which is not only gorgeous but you can buy it. I'll be returning multiple times as there's so much to read you can't take it all in on one quick visit

I loved this place and will take the grandkids next time. It's a great place to teach young ones about the history of Beenleigh.

It much better to visit with a school excursion instead of on a normal day as you get the interactive demonstration of some old styled living. (School, laundry, firefighting etc) Potentially if they can offer a audio self guided tour it'd be a lot more attracting to family visits.

Saw spirit of the red sands and loved it. I've gotten lunch there at the cafe and enjoyed the art gallery and it's always so lovely with the kindest people. I think it's a nice place to go. The food is more average during the days but the spirit if the red sands dinner was phenomenal

Great day out. Well set out and I found it quite interesting. Loved the food at the cafe, as well, along with the lovely team at the cafe, and the people that were working there. Thoroughly enjoyed it :)

Lovely local place to go and sightsee, well worth a visit. We enjoyed an event hosted by the Beenleigh Rotary club here in the Heck homestead.

Everything was great - the service, the meal, the atmosphere. Thank you very much. My hubby's first outing as he's not been the best lately. You didn't disappoint!

    Great link with the past...

I've only seen a fraction of what there is to see and it is amazing, the buildings and the smalls decorating each building is astounding. Can't wait to go back and see the rest, buti will need a whole day for just the art gallery will take a few hours with all the extraodinary paintings by local artists. Wow wow wow.
