Oh dear. This pizza used to be the best on the coast. Since they’ve renovated - it’s significantly inferior in many ways. The pizza is very average right now. It’s comparable to the Crust pizza franchise. You can even see it in their pictures. The old photos boast a beautiful authentic base and beautiful tomato sauce and toppings - but now the dough is no better than I could make at home 😓 The renovation seems so counter intuitive. It’s smaller, significantly less options that cost more, and the actual product is worse. Sorry to say it 😓 Generally underwhelming to say the least. I’ll be skipping francjrs (their newly renovated place) and will wait for Francies to reopen… if that’s what they’re doing 🤷‍♂️

The best Italian pizza place in AU. Taste was fab, I like the vibe too. I will definately come back soon.

Ridiculously overrated! Saw from the menu there’s not much on the pizzas other than meat but tried anyway because the place is always popping. Safe to say the menu is accurate and there’s nothing special about the pizza and barely anything on them. The vegan pizza base tasted like a gluten free one. I’ve had better pizza literally anywhere else. Disappointing, don’t understand the hype at all.

Look I came down here today for the grand opening & had Franc Jns with my dad & I must say I am disappointed. All the hype about the re- open. I heard a guy saying this is Australia's best pizza, well I think he is way off. I have had some great Pizza's in my time on the Coast & Matteo's, Gemeili's, Roy's By Gemelli's has Francies covered in terms of quality. Look the original francies would have been great. I heard the original pizza oven was taken out. I would recommend bringing back the original italian pizza oven back first. I get the feeling the original francies is very different from the new one especially when the proper italian pizza oven was at the old francies. Customer service was great. Very friendly staff. I had the Detroit orange stripe pizza as well as Sage against the machine. Sage against the machine was much better then the detroit style pizza. The cheese was overpowering. I honestly can't recommend this place with strong confidence.

The Pizza is alway amazing here, pity that they have gone down thew road of no table service, tiny glasses of wine, and basically DIY everything.... It was such a great place prior to the changes, we will just do the take away option in the future and have a full glass of wine at home. But... best Pizza on the Gold Coast!

The pizzas taste great, but unfortunately the burnt pizza bases and ovelry burnt crusts ruins the pizzas. I was told by the cook that it's the way he saw the pizzas in Naples, and even in Naples there are goid and bad pizzas. Just a friendly advice, go one day and taste the pizzas at Gallura, they have genuinly perfect pizzas just like being in Italy.

Beautiful pizza, great service. Small, cosy joint with a great atmosphere and outstanding food. You still get 5 stars but I will just mention on the side that the night we were there (Sunday) the music playing was not great and a bit too loud. x

The pepperoni pie my hubby and I have shared was very tasty. We would like to taste dough from a wood oven, but regardless, this one was yummy. The wine list was avarage, so it was wine, but we did come for pizza. Staff have been friendly. As there is limited sitting inside, we have chosen sitting outside. The tables outside are small, and there is no space for plates if you have pie.

Excellent selection of vegan pizzas. Really amazing crispy crust and good toppings. Fast service and reasonable price.

Great spot! Found out about the vegan options here from The Vegan Travel Show’s instagram post & I’m so glad! If you’re after some good vegan pizzas in Cooly, this is your spot! Will be back.

Great wood fired pizza, corn was fab too. Returned to this place after a year and can confirm still awesome food and vibe. Wait times can be long. Sometimes restaurant not open despite Google maps saying it is.

This place is so ridiculously good. I feel happy and content every time. It’s well priced I should say and the staff are all legends. The pizza is uniquely amazing and the coolest atmosphere in town.

Review Best pizza I’ve had on the Gold Coast hands down in the last 5 years - 10/10. Food came out within 10 minutes, a welcome surprise given the bustling Saturday night peak hour. Some hard to ignore problems - service was quite frankly so nonexistent it can’t be rated. Casper the ghost could’ve done a better job than the 2 front of house staff. I struggle to see how they can’t offer table service when two staff are being paid solely to seat customers, wipe and clear 1/10 of the tables, deliver a few pizzas and stand around. $70 round of drinks included $12 wine in water glasses and cocktails in plastic cups. We wanted to order another round but couldn’t face the line which was constantly 5 groups deep. Liquor being served clearly beyond the boundary line down near Free Choice & Crown Currency whilst people waited for their takeaways and to be seated on the concrete bollards. Given 4 PAPER plates for 5 people thrown down on the table stuck together. No cutlery. Ambience was lovely until we moved our seats back 2cm and realised our stools had sunk into the council street garden. These are all issues which could be fixed in a heartbeat with a dishy, table service & some crockery. Will come back solely for takeaway pizzas in future & maybe to dine again in a few months to give the place a second chance.

Rockin place and pizza BOMBS! Had the Detroit Red Stripe and Vegan Special. DRS was great thick crust style with maillard cheese edges, Vegan was elegant classic woodfired pizza. Nice drinks selection too! Cheers everyone 😄

The southern end of the coast is in desperate need of decent quality Italian pizza and this place could have been it. It definitely delivers on the food quality - but is a complete pain to actually secure either a table or a takeaway pizza. Are here once, waited 20 mins and got a seat with a friend. The service was below average - no aperol - very limited wine list - (no Italian wine???) and the pizzas were great, sure but really, I’ve had better authentic pizza. The dough lacked salt and the whole experience didn’t deliver. Our waiter moved us halfway through the meal to another table to accommodate someone else. (Both were 2 seaters so not sure why???) Righto! The dine in experience was overall underwhelming. We tried for takeaway as we live local and knew the pizza was good. Ater 5 failed takeaway order attempts due to being “sold out” whenever we text - (in spite of texting at 4pm Qld time… an hour before they even open…) (restaurant response was - “ people text us at 5am for our pizza.”) I’m just not sure what the fuss is about but I’m ready to open a proper Italian pizza shop in Cooly or Tweed. I won’t return or recommend on the basis of poor customer service. Understand the no reservations policy but needing to order my takeaway 13 hours prior at 5am in the morning? Please. Can’t wait to see someone open a decent pizza and charcuterie bar in the area and show this team how it’s done. While the popularity is there now I have no doubt locals will increasingly go elsewhere like I will after being burnt one too many times.

I love the pizza at this place but their pick up ordering system needs improving, don’t offer it if you can’t provide good service, it reflects so poorly on your restaurant. I’ve tried three times in the last month to place an order by pick up, each time they haven’t been able to fulfil the order, one time they told me to message them the next day, only for me to find out at the time of pickup that they were closed that day. The pizzas are expensive, my order would have been $70 for 3 pizzas, so that’s $210 in lost revenue for the business and potentially a lot more because I don’t think I’ll order again. Needs sorting out.

One of the places you don’t want everyone to know about. By far the best pizza on the coast and always a lovely atmosphere. As a bonus we can bring our dogs to the outdoor seating area ❤️🍷🙌🐕🍕

Honestly... this place is incredible. I have never experienced such amazing wood fired pizza and to top it all off the vibe of the street style seating was amazing. Do not hesitate to go here.

I have to say our experience at Francies was exceptional, from the time we sat down to the food. Staff were extremely friendly and attentive.... Five stars was the max I can select but I they are definitely a 10 star out of 5...Thank You 😁😍
