Being kept waiting too long, and not having questions answered can be normal things with a specialist. Showing disinterest and being rude can sometime be an off day. But berating and abusing women verbally, and speaking outside of medical relevancy about himself, his beliefs, and how women should be tied up and left in the desert...? This was a very weird experience, which bordered on being traumatic. I would strongly advise that no woman be left under the care of this man.

I have been a patient of Dr Dunn for a very long time and I have no hesitation in recommending him to any woman who wants to deal with fertility and health issues in a safe and professional manner. As a physician, his personal approach to clients is absolute -information, open communication and detailed analysis, professional consistency, trust and the delivery of desired results. Over the years, I have always seen many women in reception who are delighted with new additions of children to their families, they have always been forthcoming to discuss their gratitude and openly speak of the success which had otherwise been elusive to them. Myself, I can only thank Dr Dunn for his years of dedication, superior service and clarity in communication in the areas of female health which is vital to positive outcomes and a solid doctor patient relationship. However, his wife/ receptionist needs to find somewhere else to work. She is not suited to working in this environment. If there is any issue it stems from her in this position, not Dr Dunn's practice. It would be wise to move her on.

I have been a patient of Dr Alwyn Dunn since August 2018 where he diagnosed me with stage III endometriosis. Dr Dunn is a very skilled surgeon who has extensive knowledge in endometriosis and the best & latest approach to getting rid of it (wide excision surgery). If you're someone who suffers from endo you'll appreciate finding someone who 'get's it' and works with you in coming up with a solution in treating the disease. Dr Dunn is a humble man who cares deeply for his patients. He takes his time in every appointment to ensure that you're heard and consulted in the approach forward. I recently underwent my second surgery (3/12/21) with Dr Dunn and I could not be happier with the results. Not only was he able to remove my endo from a very difficult place, he called to check in on me and ensure that my recovery was going well even though that was during the weekend. If you're looking for a world class surgeon Dr Dunn is your person. His wife, Tien, who works the reception is very accomodating and friendly. Nothing is ever too much trouble and she goes the extra mile to ensure the patients are looked after. Thank you Dr Dunn and Tien for taking such good care of me. Best gyno experience I've ever had. Dr Dunn spent so much time with me explaining in detail everything that I needed to know, he addressed every one of my concerns and went above and beyond which included ultrasound during the same appointment and diagnosing me with something that previous gynos had missed, finally everything made sense. His wife Tien (reception) was also kind and very friendly, I was seen at my exact appt time and didn't wait. I'm so happy I finally found somewhere I feel understood and looked after. Excited to go back. Don't hesitate to visit Dr Dunn if you have any womens health concerns.

My wife and I saw Dr Dunn on the recommendation of another patient who had a very successful operation from him. Dr Dunn delivered us a very healthy baby girl on January 5th 2018. We were very lucky that we saw Dr Dunn at 20 weeks as my wife had a short cervix requiring weekly visits to monitor her progress as it put her at risk of a premature delivery. Dr Dunn was thorough in his management of my wife's pregnancy and never made us feel rushed when we were in our appointment. Thankfully we went privately as we were able to have the comfort in knowing we had the same highly skilled OBGYN managing her throughout the whole pregnancy. In the lead up to delivery, our baby's weight and growth plateau and her umbilical cord pressures increased meaning she wasn't getting enough nutrition. Dr Dunn suggested to us that the right decision was to deliver her at 34 weeks. Dr Dunn managed to get us to a safe delivery time with appropriate management and we believe had we gone public and seen different junior Dr's each week without the continuity of care, with my wife's complications, the outcome may have been different. The only downside to seeing Dr Dunn is be prepared for reasonably long waits before you get in to see him. It wasn't uncommon to be waiting an hour after your appointment time. Although, if it results in a healthy baby at the end of the day, that is a small price to pay. You may also need a relatively thick skin as some comments from Dr Dunn aren't particularly PC but again I would rather a Dr that is an expert in their field than one that is less skilled but has a better bed side manner. We will definitely be seeing Dr Dunn again with the birth of our second child when my wife is next pregnant.

I've been seeing Dr Dunn for years now and highly recommend him. A highly competent surgeon, knowledgeable doctor and takes the time to put his patient's mind at ease. There have been 3 instances in recent years where I have been in need of his expertise and every time I have received the advice and treatment to resolve the issue. I'm very grateful.

Dr Dunn was absolutely amazing delivery our two beautiful boys. Dr Dunn is a very caring Obstetrician, he would check on my wife at 10pm after doing his rounds and be in a 6am to check on mum and bubs. Can't thank him enough for all his time and care.

Dr Dunn, is very knowledgeable and professional. We saw him after we had 3 failed ivf cycles. He advised us that we should do surgery before doing another transfer. I’m so glad we changed to see him. He changed my medication and protocol. We now have our beautiful 7 week old daughter because of him. Sure he has long wait times but that doesn’t bother me as when he is with you he listens to you and chats to you, he doesn’t push you out the door. I’ve had phone conversations with him late at night and on the weekends, when you text him he always gets back to you. Tien is always so welcoming and always has a smile on her face and always willing to have a chat to you. When I was in early labour I called Tien and she advised me to come in, he had a waiting room full of people and he took me straight in. My labour was quiet long and I ended up delivering at 1am he was there the whole time (sorry for long day doc) I was in hospital for 5 days and everyday he checked in with me. I will definitely be back to see him again, and always recommend people to him.

I first saw dr Dunn over 10 years ago and have done so ever since. Dr Dunn delivered my new, perfect little girl a couple of months ago. He was incredible throughout my entire pregnancy (and in the lead up to being pregnant). His professionalism, compassion and knowledge meant that i was calm and confident that I was receiving the best care possible. His after care was awesome with daily visits whilst I was in hospital and genuine interest/care. He has a great sense of humour too and I enjoyed every single appointment. At times we did need to wait past our appointment time to see him, but knowing what he’s like and how thorough he is, it’s a small price to pay. Thank you Dr. Dunn… you promised we’d get there, and we did. ORIGINAL POST: I’ve been seeing Dr Dunn for many years. He is calm and caring and will always provide every piece of information you need to ensure you understand what’s going on. He won’t sugar coat but will deliver information and advice with empathy and compassion. Great doctor, could not recommend him more. I look forward to the day when he delivers my baby/babies.

I saw Dr Dunn throughout my first pregnancy recently and I have to say that he is one of the best obstetricians you can find on the coast. Beyond his second to none professionalism, he is such responsible, caring and patience during each appointment. I had a c-section and was in hospital for 7 days. He came to check on my wound twice a day during weekdays and at least once during weekends to make sure there is no infection. English is a second language for me but every time he saw me look a bit uncertain he will try to rephrase in simple words that are easy for me to understand. I am so glad that I have Dr Dunn as my obstetrician. He definitely worth a 100 stars. Since Google only allows me to give 5 stars, sorry Doc.

Dr Dunn has gone out of his way to help us through our IVF journey. Nothing has ever been too much trouble.

I have seen other Drs throughout our IVF and endo journey but switching to Dr Dunn & Tien has been the best decision we ever made 🙌 We even travelled from Melbourne to the Gold Coast so Dr Dunn could deliver our baby 🩷 Dr Dunn is caring, kind and he always gave us the reality of any situation. I have had amazing recoveries after both of my caesarian sections- (his skills cannot be matched ) I cannot fault this genius of a man; without his wealth of knowledge we wouldn't be parents! We cannot thank him and Tien enough 🩵🩷 If you choose any specialist- Dr Dunn should be at the top of your list!

Had endometriosis surgery, himself & Tein organised to get me in very promptly and were nothing but supportive throughout the pre-op questions, cleaning me out throughly in the theatre, & throughout the post-op process. Could not have asked for a more caring, knowledgeable & friendly doctor & Tein the receptionist as well being so lovely & willing to answer any questions.
