Dr O’Brien is fantastic, as are most of the reception team. Unfortunately some of the receptionists are not and it had a negative impact on my experience at the clinic. Whilst waiting for this particular young lady to stop chatting in the corner for a few minutes to hand her a referral form, she wandered over casually, without greeting me or looking at me and said ‘what do you want me to do with that?’ She then proceeded to charge my card and told me Medicare will automatically put some money back in my account. At my next appointment two days later, a lovely elder receptionist attended to me and took me through my various payment options and refunded my Medicare gap. I explained that this did not happen on my previous visit and then checked my bank statement. I had not been refunded. The young receptionist who had served me walked over and said ‘that’s got nothing to do with us’. ‘You’ll have to go to Medicare and sort it out… just go online’ Nothing to do with you… really? Appalling customer service. Would be devastated as a business owner to know that I had someone like that running my front desk.

Staff are always friendly and helpful. The Nurses do a great job and work well under pressure, it gets quite busy in there! My GP is Dr O’Brien and I would highly recommend him, also he is the only Doctor I have been to who doesn’t keep you waiting for an hour, always on time which is very important

Totally Professional, caring, from the first contact via phone to make appointment, through to welcoming to the clinic, receptionist’s kind assistance, Dr Louise’s welcome and introduction, through entire consultation, She listened and showed high sense of understanding and professional advice and clear plan moving forward. I had such a good experience. The ladies at the reception were professional and nice. The doctor was amazing! My first time to this clinic and for something that’s a little uncomfortable but I was made to feel relaxed, guided and had an overall feeling of being well looked after! I would definitely recommend!

Has a high turnover of doctors, doesn't honour bulk billing, I have been going here for about 2 years,charged me for a long visit, when dr was unable to just reproduce what i get for my specialist every 6 months. no longer than 15-20 minutes. Greedy practice that should be ashamed of putting profits above patients

I highly recommend Coolangatta medical centre. All of the staff and reception have always been so nice, friendly and respectful. Not only are the drs very good at their jobs, they are understanding, supportive, kind, caring and professional. They also make me feel very comfortable and I believe I am in the best hands. I have felt extremely lucky to have the best Dr there is. Which I think is hard to find and locate. I appreciate and admire Dr Russell obrien so very much who is my main regular gp. Dr Jason Blum is the other Dr I have seen since finding this centre many years ago. If I have seen another Dr there since being a patient I have much respect for them also. I thank my Dr & the team very much.

I went here suffering from gout while on holidays. The receptionist could not have been any friendlier or accommodating if she tried. I saw Dr Greenwood. Fantastic manner, great empathy and very efficient. If this centre was near where I live, I would go there all the time. Great experience

It’s not often one could say they ended up in an ambulance and had a great experience. That had everything to with the attentive and caring nature of the staff and doctors of Coolangatta Medical. The situation could have been a whole lot different, but cool heads, professional care and a genuine respect for all involved saw a successful outcome. Dr Christine was very good to talk too and nice happy personality. However the receptionist was the opposite and needs to get out of bed the right side next time. Blonde long hair person. Was hoping for bulk billing but wasn’t on web site.

Have waited for for nearly an hour to on hold with no answer. The receptionist aren't very friendly. Have had problems with them to fax through a referral tried to get them to fax it through for 2 weeks and ended up having to hand in the referral by hand. When I brought this up I got excuses and no accountability. I love my doctor but the receptionists need a better customer service and answer the phones sooner.

This is wonderful medical practice. My partner has various health conditions and has had to see multiple doctors at several medical centres. This particular practice is exceptional. Dr Michaelia Verbeek is remarkably efficient, knowledgeable and compassionate. It's also very apparent that they have dedicated members of their staff who are committed to their professions. Beverly at reception is always helpful and kind and the practice manger Jagmeet (Jimmy) S-Lubana is a true professional who goes above and beyond in his role. This medical practice is excellent in every way. Plenty of experienced GPs and all the extra services a person would require. I am 70 and there are Drs to suit my age group. There is even a Pathology. Staff are polite and experienced. And you can even book an appointment online.No trouble getting an appointment too.

This a well run busy practice. Dr Peter Dewilde is an excellent thorough and personable GP. He cares about the whole picture, not just churning through patients as soon as possible. Good for the routine as well as the unexpected.

Not really impressed. Im new in town looking for a knowledgeable Dr & this place was recommended to me by a work colleague - considering they don't bulk bill unless on a concession card I would think I would have someone experienced however instead I was given a young green Dr new to being a GP - cant she cut her teeth on people they bulk bill she was lovely but I felt she was out of her depth & couldn't really help me left thinking I'm not going back .

wonderful service. fantastic caring and efficient staff including practice manager Jimmy, Dr Badenhorst and the very patient, helpful and kind receptionist who helped me with payment procedures. i was seen promptly and expert and compassionate care resulted in me feeling 100 times better within 24 hours. I really appreciated my consultation with the doctor. She was efficient, friendly and focused. The booking online platform was smooth and I didn't have to wait long at the clinic for my appointment. So happy to get back to this clinic.

I was given quotes for travel vaccines that did not include GST , my son and I both had to have two vaccines each so the quote was wrong by over $50 , they also made me pay in 3 separate payments and then charged me a surcharge each time for paying on my credit card. When I contacted them via email I got a very blunt and rude response. We paid over $700 for this appointment. Do not use them for travel vaccines , they rip you off

Very disappointed with this place and recent changes to fees and staff. I called this morning to check what my appointment would cost because noone tells you and apparently my doctor is not in this week. They claim they called me but no missed calls, no messages. This is what we are now paying for - half-hearted client service and never being about to get an appointment. Too bad if you desperately need to see your GP. What a joke!

Dropped in as my son cut his foot on some oysters. The doctor saw him straight away in the treatment room and glued the wound together. Excellent, quick service, very friendly staff. Would highly recommend.

Two of the receptionists at this clinic that I talked to were surprisingly rude and condescending. Almost to the degree of a minor God complex. The Dr and nurses on the other hand were excellent. Very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Soo if you can wade through the sad line up at reception then you will most likely find a ray of healing sunshine on the other side.

Doctor Fiona was lovely & very through, explained everything to my husband & myself, including what adverse side effects we may experience from the yellow fever vaccine. If we need more vaccinations in the future we will find another medical practice. We were both deeply offended by the questions regarding our preferred pronouns we would like to be known as, the gender questions were acceptable. Again the pronoun questions were very offensive but the medical care was excellent.

I was very fortunate to have an appointment straight away. Also on holidays from Adelaide. I was lucky to have Dr Fatemeh who was very friendly, kind , efficient and helped me with my problem. The wonderful staff at front office were friendly and efficient. Many thanx to everybody.

I have nothing but praise for the Medical Centre, especially Dr Bannerman. Within an hour of my appointment he had organised an ultrasound and two hours later he rang me after hours to discuss further treatment. The next day he phoned me again after doing further research on my problem. As a tourist this professional attention was greatly appreciated. Thank you

Was able to book online for a same-day booking, such an easy process. Both people I interacted with (receptionist & Dr Greenwood) were very friendly. Dr Greenwood was efficient and instantly made me feel at ease, her medical treatment was spot on. Highly recommend if you're in need of a Dr.

Dr Badenhorst is a great doctor, very helpful and thorough. 4 stars because it seems strange practice to pay the fee before the service, never come across it anywhere else before. Otherwise the practice is great!

Once I called first time to make my appointment they were really insistent on getting my credit card details. Offered myself to come and pay for it, but receptionist said could not make an appointment without giving it my card details. Which I found really weird. But as I was in a sinuses crisis and on a huge back pain. Got there to see Dr Christine Greenwood and she passed me an antibiotic for sinuses and told I could only get checked on one of my problems on this consultation, and I should pay for another one if I need to look for my back problems. Once I left and got home, they called me to say there was a time limit for a consultation. Which is 12:30 minutes. And they charged me double the price just because I stayed for 17 minutes with the doctor. I never heard of this before in any medical centre, and they never told me there was an time limit or that I should pay any extra for it. In the end I spent 200 $ total for a consultation and an antibiotic da prescription. Also the receptionist that insisted I needed to give my card details, was poking me on the phone call, saying doesn’t matter why they would get my money lut of my account. Now I understand why they needed my card details so much … never seen anything like this in Australia. Felt robbed

My family have been visiting this medical centre for a couple of years. The doctor we see is excellent, very thorough and doesn't rush you out the door. I am not in support of the new policy of having to give your credit card details to make an appointment. Personally I don't feel entirely comfortable with that. Usually there is about a 45 min wait time but to me that is okay if they don't rush you through. I appreciate the paperless escript and referral email system.

Highly recommended. Have been seeing Dr Badenhorst all year she is exceptional, courteous respectful and really listens to her patients. Also very rarely do I have to wait past my appt time which is a huge first! The staff on reception have been polite and very helpful. In particular I have had a lot of dealings with Rachel who has made me feel my questions and concerns are never a problem.

Since July, we have booked all our family’s Covid vaccines at the Coolangatta medical centre. The reception and medical staff are friendly and professional. Appointments are always on time and easy to schedule. We are so lucky to live in a place with such a well run medical centre. I would not hesitate to recommend this for all your family’s health needs.

Being a new patient at the Medical Centre, I was pleasantly surprised. From Dr Angela Rose to the girls at reception plus the nurses administering the vaccines out back, they were all excellent and caring.

Dr Fatemeh was very warm, nice and easy to talk! I will definitely go back to see her again. Recptionist Rachel was very nice as well. I had great experiences at the clinic.

Poor policy of ceasing bulk billing for pensioners and concession card holders. As an aged pensioner, I can't afford out of pocket charges with the cost of groceries and cost of living continuing to climb. Staff remain friendly and courteous though.

This review is on behalf of my 100 year old grandma. The team at Coolangatta Medical Centre have been beyond amazing. We can not speak highly enough of just how wonderful this clinic is. Everyone is so helpful from the doctors, to the nurse, to the admin team.

Everything is great BUT as a parent of 3, it would be SO helpful if the practice was more family friendly- toys, area for kids, nappy change table, it’s just hard when you have little ones and you have to wait and entertain them all.

First time visit, greeted with a warm smile and led quite quickly thru to see the Doctor. From there it was uphill all the way. Fantastic advice, very knowledgeable. Thank you Dr Greenwood

It feels very disjointed between the call centre and the actual medical centre. Trying to explain that I don't need to pay via credit card because I am on a DVA Gold Card is frustrating. In my first experience I was told I couldn't get an appointment. The rest of the appointment with the Dr was excellent.

Coolangatta medical is a professional practice with a high level of customer service. My family has seen many different doctors for different reasons due to the variety of specialities they offer. Each doctor actually cares. Amazing practice! Highly recommended!

My first appointment at Coolangatta medical Centre was impressive with the ability to speak with Dr Angela Rose and be able to see pathology the same morning for blood tests. The ladies at the reception counter were busy but pleasant and efficient.
