3.Edit: Tried to come by one more time to see if maybe that one day had been different. Unfortunately, beside not being greeted, a person that came after me was able to place an order before me( while I was still not greeted). I didn’t feel like wasting another second, I walked out. It’s a shame. The restaurant has great food, pretty horrible service. 2.Edit: Food was delicious. The only suggestion I can make, since I also work in a service industry, is; Always have someone in the staff acknowledge anyone new that walks in the door, just a “hello and welcome” can change things around. Be transparent about the situation if it is taking a while and communicate constantly, just letting someone know that they are working in your meal every few minutes may reset the clock for them and it shows understanding. Lastly, have people that look like they actually want to work there. I got the vibe that they didn’t care to work with me because maybe they themselves didn’t feel well. 1.Orders can take upwards of 1hr+. If you are ordering here, please make sure you don’t pay unless your order is ready. Hope it all comes well, your food is great!

Usually I give this place a 5 stars. I’ve been here for years since high school. I love the owners. The new staff was so bad today. I would have given it 1 star but it’s not the owners fault. We patiently waited 1hr30 mins and we just got our alcohol. Not even the water or the appetizer they give when you usually sit down. The people around us got it and never us. I asked several times. After two hours we said nvm to go. Then the owner felt bad and gave us soup to go. The staff later on said sorry we forgot the noodles. Gave us noodles not even cooked!!! We gotta boil it at home. Dear owner I know you and I love you. Please train your staff again they were chasing the bigger tables and not going by order nor cared.

Being in the mood for Chinese food I decided to order from Mr Chef and give it a try. It is tough to find a good Chinese restaurant in or near the Aventura area for most Chinese restaurants near here offer more an American Chinese cuisine. The menu of this establishment is not extensive and I did not ask if they had a Chinese menu so I cannot at this time say if they had more traditional plates to offer. But I shall say that the food was delicious and fresh and it was not salty. The flavors were just right. I was astonished to see good slices of pork in the pork lo mein and no fat. Many other places would put small pieces of pork and half of it would be fat but here, all of the pork was the meat itself and no fat. The salt and pepper calamari was good but the quantity is more for a one person so if you are ordering for a group of hungry people than you may want to order more than one. I would recommend the General Tso's chicken as one of your dishes.

Have dined in and gotten take out several times. The food is pretty good but the service is consistently awful. I tipped 20% on a take out order and didn't even get a thank you or a goodbye. When dining in the service was very slow and we had to ask for the bill several times. Good manners and proper hospitality etiquette are truly lacking at this establishment. (lowering my review to 1 star as we gave them another try and they took our money but didnt give us our food and we still dont have a refund processed). I hope this place closes and they put something better with more competent ownership and management. Get out you crooks!

The food was great. Seems to be different staff from when I was there a few years ago.

Walked in and there was no clear hostess. One lady from behind the bar sat us down. Then we waited 30 mins for a waiter to even approach us to ask what we would like. Waited another 30-40 mins for our food. After eating, we Went home and by the end of the night both my wife and I were vomiting up our dinner. We both had different meals. Will NOT be returning.

Horrible customer service. I ordered the wontons but was given Crab ragoons (which were horrible). I ordered the spicy eggplant and didn't get the steaming white rice which it comes with. The BBQ spare ribs tasted dry and weren't fresh. I will never come back here and none of my friends will to.

Poor service. Why allow order of a timed pick-up if you can’t meet it? We ordered 90min before planned pickup and still had to wait over 20min in the restaurant at the take out counter to get our food. Do not recommend for speed.

Delicious Chinese food, great ambiance, great service! Little hidden Gem in Aventura. Make sure you’ll try the Walnut and Mayo Prawns and their Pecking Duck! They are amazing and very well priced!

We are very proud to be friends and customers of the Mr. Chef family. The food is awesome, the atmosphere is right where it needs to be making it feel both like a night out and friendly at the same time. The owners are both there and they make sure that the combination of value, flavor and quality are there. Love it, my kids love it and looking forward to my next meal!

Edit to respond: I get that it is a fee for using the online system. Which I would NOT have used if I wasn’t given the wrong information from your staff! Either properly train all your employees that answer the phone on your policy or honor their mistakes when they make it. Do Not penalize the customer. That is what good customer service NOT taking any responsibility is not! Clearly customer service is not Mr Chefs strong point. After being extremely loyal customers eating here multiple times a month we experience our last unpleasant visit. On trying to order from their new online system I noticed an additional $3 charge. So I called to inquire about it before checking out and was told by the gentleman that it was a fee that would be removed once I got to the restaurant. He said to just go ahead and place my order like regular and choose pay inside. So I did as I was instructed and when I got to the restaurant a female by the name of Alex I believe told me that I was given the wrong information and that she would not be removing the fee. We went back and forth. Even the guy who told me the wrong info informed her that he told me it would be removed but she did not budge. I know it’s only 3$ but it’s the point that I could have avoided this fee with the right information and placed my order over the phone or in person. At no fault to my own I was charged extra And to say there’s nothing she could do about the system is a lie. Because had I not come in to pick up the order they had to have some way of canceling it out so why not do that and ring me up how I was told I would be. Regardless clearly they do not care about customer satisfaction or service so I will not be spending another dollar here. And urge you to use bc caution before hand too.

Great food, mediocre service. I’ve been here twice. The first time we ordered Pekin duck, everything was fine except instead of the soft buns, they gave us tortillas. This time the Shrimp dumplings and cocunut shrimp was amazing! And the Walnut Shrimp with mayonnaise was to die for. The walnuts were made in the restaurant since you can tell since they weren’t hard or too sweet.

Food flavor is great, service and cooks are TERRIBLE. I sat over an hour just watching the servers and owner be super attentive to every other table and completely ignore our’s. We waited 40 minutes for just refills on water. Over an hour for appetizers and over an hour and a half for our food. “Mongolian Beef” was completely raw after an hour and 30 min wait. Then they brought it back burned and crisp 😒The large pieces of the “General Chicken” were raw inside; Be sure to cut through the large pieces of chicken to thoroughly check. The smaller pieces were just fried and covered in sauce breading. I ended up asking for the food to be packed to go so I can finish cooking it at home. I’m assuming if you are not over 65, you are not going to be taken serious or given the proper attention. It’s a pity because flavors are good, but they need new management, new servers, and new cooks.

The food was very decent Chinese/Cantonese food. We've enjoyed the soups, orange beef, egg rolls, ribs. We add a new dish every week to see what our favs are. Miami is a hard city to find good Chinese. These guys have it!

I order here regularly. The fried rice is top notch, very good! The staff is always so friendly and ask about daily life every time. It caught me off guard because you're not used to it in Miami but its refreshing. The atmosphere is relaxed and everyone seems so at ease. I would definitely recommend you give this place a try.

The food its good here but I don’t like the fact that I cannot simply order noodles on the side like you can do in any other places! I had to explain that I just need plain noodles, I got what I needed!! Good stuff, kind, would come back again!! Thank you!!

What a peking duck they are cooking??!! Oh yam-yam... We have ordered wantan soup, udong soup, salad and Peking duck. Restaurant quite spacious and big companies can have parties. Food comes fast. Personnel is friendly and ready to assist. Suggest

IF YOU DON'T MIND DEPLORABLE SERVICE THIS RESTAURANT IS QUITE GOOD. THE PEKING DUCK IS FANTASTIC. THE SHRIMP DUMPLING ALSO VERY GOOD. SERVICE IS NOT TO PAR WITH THE FLAVOR OF FOOD.

$20 on chicken and it was so chewy I couldn't eat it. This is a consistent theme here. I am done giving them chances. Save your $

Food is good. The dumplings are really good. If you like shrimp you gotta try those shrimp dumplings.
