I have mixed feelings about our stay at 20 Degrés Sud. Firstly, I must say that it is a beautiful hotel with some lovely views over the bay. It is, however, overpriced in my opinion, compared with other places we stayed at in Mauritius. Generally speaking, the service is good, apart from a couple of waiters who managed to spoil our dining experience. We had to wait quite some time to get served, the food is delicious though so worth waiting for, but then the bill was not right and we just couldn't be bothered asking to have it corrected and waiting another half an hour. Our room was rather small but nice. The outside rooftop bathroom was a lovely surprise but the creaky bed and the drafty door could do with some maintenance. One example of great service was when they turned on the hammam just for us, as I asked if we could use it. All in all, our stay was pleasant but I'm not in a hurry to return.

Very disappointed and do not recommend this place. Pros: Room I stayed was really good, comfy, nice view, and water pressure was great and hot. That's pretty much it. Cons: Way over priced. Bottle of water cost Rs325 ($10aud!!) When you book for a half board or all inclusive, it states that the breakfast and dinner are inclusive, which is a LIE! You basically get a "credit" of Rs2250 per person to spend on your food. That means, when you order a la carte(the only option you have), you need to order the cheapest entree, main and dessert in order not to pay the excess amount. I have never in my entire life stayed in a 5 star hotel that gave me a credit when it says included in the terms and conditions. You won't find any information about this on their website. I've only found out about this when i was at the restaurant and opened the menu. I've attached an image for you guys to see... food is also mediocre, nothing wow. Client next to me brought their own water bottle and wine because everything is so over priced at this place. Another client was complaining that she had stomach ache from the food and my food was dry and salty. When i told the manager about it, he said "ohh maybe your taste bud isn't used to this and everyone has a different taste bud" and to "redeem" themselves, all i got was a glass of wine and a mocktail. Customer service is pretty bad - most staffs do not smile and no proper manners. There is 1 particular waiter who is horrible. There are a few staffs who are amazing but most of them are not... For the price I paid, it wasn't worth it at all. Save yourself some money and find another place. Lastly, if you're looking to swim in the ocean, find another place. It's a nice beach to chill on sand but not to swim. The location of this area is very windy and a bit rocky. The waves are quite strong and water cold.

we spent a day here under the day use package as a family. It’s a really nice little boutique hotel. The facilities are new and modern. I would recommend this more for a couple stay rather than a family stay. It’s quiet and calm and hence as a family, you don’t want to disturb the peace. Although they had water activités, the vibe was really chill. Spa was excellent. Lunch by the water was amusing as the food was delicious and the view of course was delightful. Would recommend to couples but not families.

Amazing chic hotel. Small and quaint. The staff here are really attentive and thoughtful. Located looking into the bay of beautiful turquoise waters to wake up to every day. The food here is good quality. And plenty of amazing food choices about 10-15 min taxi drive away. The rum collection here is next level so make sure you try them out !

Our recent stay at 20 Degres Sud was exceptional. This hotel offers an idyllic escape that's second to none. If we could describe it in three words it would be: intimate, friendly, relaxing. The natural beauty of the location alone would have made the trip worthwhile, but what truly sets this hotel apart was the outstanding service and the warm, welcoming staff. Every member of the team consistently went above and beyond. A special thanks to General Manager Lindley who was fully dedicated to ensuring our stay was nothing short of magical. Thank you also to Denis, Vik and Leena who were brilliant. The restaurant here was a particular highlight of our visit to Mauritus (we stayed at many locations on the island). The food was nothing short of a culinary masterpiece, with both local and international dishes that left our taste buds in pure delight. The superbly crafted meals made every dining experience a memorable one. We really like that there was not only a set menu available every night, but also an a la carte. We’re already daydreaming about our return to this enchanting haven in Mauritius. It's not just a hotel; it's a sanctuary of beauty, hospitality, and gastronomic excellence, and we can't wait to come back for more. Thank you to Lindley and his team!

All meals and food were totally fantastic; the chef is amazing, and we cannot fault the service. Unfortunately we cannot give a wholly 5 star review as we were led to believe from the Website that all rooms "overlook the beautiful coconut grove which opens onto the sea". Which wasn't true for our room 15, where our view was the back of 2 double sun beds and the bar- very disappointing and depressing. We do thoroughly recommend the turtle watching boat trip with Tchin, unforgettable. We would also advise cutting off all the dead branches over the shower room , which are detrimental to the ambiance.

We spent two fabulous days for our honeymoon and the service was beyond our expectation. We were amazed by the hospitality and the professionalism of the staffs. The food was so delicious and it was the best food we ever had. Thank you all the team for making our trip memorable and special thank to Chef Sanjeev Purahoo.

I wrote a comprehensive ,glowing review of this boutique hotel years ago ,when I stayed a few days. It has disappeared, but suffice to say I cannot recommend this Chateau and Relais 5 -star property highly enough.-in all areas ; facilities, service cuisine, location ,accommodation......all superb. Just go...... I promise you won't be disappointed .

A little piece of paradise. Highly recommended, friendly staff, great location. Restaurant service could be slow at times, but always with a smile 😃 We would definitely stay here again. Room tip - treat yourselves to a suite and request room 39 you will not be disappointed.

A lovely small hotel to unwind at. The staff are amazingly attentive, the food has a touch of Heston B about it. It's right on the beach, or more precisely the bay. It's far enough away from the main Grand Bay area not to be disturbed by it but only a 10 minute free boat taxi ride away. At least it was in Jan 22 while still recovering from the pandemic. Also free boat ride for snorkeling in the reef, a must do. Highly recommend.

If you are looking for being ripped off, this is the place. I will be fair in my reviews, the staffs are friendly and the food is good however everything is extremely overprice by European standard. A bottle of water costs 12 euros and a couples massage costs 500 euros. These are just two simple examples. The hotel is located in coldest and windiest part of the island. The hotel beach is completely useless if you are looking for sunbathing, swimming or snorkeling, book your accommodation anywhere else. We had booked the half board deal which means dinner and breakfast must be included however they find a way to charge you for everything on the menu. I strongly recommend you to not to stay there.

This chic independent hotel is extremely well run by the very professional GM who leads by example to motivate staff to warmly deliver exceptional service to the all the happy guests. The stylish hotel with divine rooms has a very high end classic colonial feel and is refreshingly different to the typical high end hotel. Interior designers will take away ideas! The beautiful sandy beach feels private with a great view and the hobby cat provided some sporting sailing. Somehow it felt like we were staying at our own luxurious villa with the best staff ever. We dined exceptionally well e(specially considering the chefs late notice of allergies). Even if you don't choose to stay here make sure you come to try the executive chef's signature dishes. Very very recommendable! Thank you for a lovely stay. We will be back

20° Sud is perhaps one of my favourite hotel in Mauritius. The service is always perfect, the food never deceptive, the establishment in itself is real charming. I usually look forward to discover new places, but when I need my quiet moment, 20° is my go - to place. The spa is also a must try. I would recommend 20° Sud any day.

Stay away due to their mattresses - Staff is nice, but they have very old spring mattresses! So be prepared to spend another couple of hundred dollars to get a massage or chiropractic treatment.

Only thing wrong with this hotel is the price of drinks 300R (£5.50 approx) for bottle of local beer only 190R (£3.50) in town, cheapest bottle of wine 2,400Rand (I think £44.50), worst one is £5.40 for 750ml of still water, there is a fridge and cork screw should you wish to buy your own. Staff cannot do enough, so helpful and friendly, rooms are beautiful, location good, food lovely. It was my husband birthday (not mentioned by us )whilst there and most members of staff wished him happy birthday, management sent a good wishes note and a little gift. Would we go back, in a heart beat 😁

The first thing to say is how brilliant the staff are at this place . Absolutely fantastic We stayed here for a second time and had a wonderful week of relaxation, delicious food and great swimming . Hotel 20 Degrees Sud is a fantastic place to stay if you want to switch off, really comfortable beds and plenty of room by the sea . We shall definitely be returning.

We had a wonderful time at this hotel. Located in Pointe aux Canonniers, North of Mauritius, it has a nice swimming pool and sandy beaches. The food and service is 5star. Very helpful and friendly staffs ...

I had high expectations for my stay at 20 degrés Sud, a reputed 5-star hotel. While my overall experience was decent, there were a few aspects that left me a bit disappointed. Firstly, the size of the hotel, including the common areas, felt somewhat constrained for a property boasting a 5-star rating. This was a surprising element given the usual standards of luxury and spaciousness one expects in such establishments. Additionally, the range of activities available at the hotel was quite limited. For guests looking to engage in various leisure or recreational activities within the hotel, this might be a letdown. More diverse and engaging options would greatly enhance the experience. On a positive note, the staff at the hotel were exceptionally welcoming and attentive. Their professionalism and warmth significantly contributed to the comfort of my stay. This level of service is indeed reflective of the hotel’s high standards. However, I must point out that the pricing of drinks at the hotel is notably higher compared to similar establishments. While I understand premium pricing is a part of the luxury hotel experience, the cost of beverages here seemed excessively steep relative to other high-standing hotels.

We went there for lunch and we're shown around the property, whan an amazing oasis. Small with 36 rooms, yet all of them beautiful appointed. The highlight for us was the restaurant. Fantastic view, great food, lovely service that pays attention to the last detail.. I ate the last meat off the lamb rack bones holding them with my hand... And a bowl with hit water and lemon came to wash my hands... My serviette was quite dirty and it was changed mid meal... Wow The rooms are not cheap, yet felt the food and wines were very reasonably priced

Hotel 20 Degrés Sud was a fantastic hotel with great staff. We visited as part of our honeymoon and loved everything about it. The hotel had beautiful decor and was beautifully laid out. It was in a great location and close to key visiting spots. The beach was beautiful and the hotel provided excursions inc. seeing sunset on the boat as well as snorkelling. The beach was small but pretty and never felt too packed which made it enjoyable. The best thing about the hotel were the staff, they were super friendly, accomodating and attentive. We had a special occassion there which the staff brought to life. All the staff were fantastic but a special call out to Naheed, Syed, Ashfaq, Amrish, Rishi, Sunil who really made our stay amazing. Again, many thanks and look forward to visiting soon again!

What marked me right from the start was the welcoming and staff! It was a cosy, scented and peaceful atmosphere at the hotel. I liked the antique decor. The sea, sand and sun were awesome! I liked the deck! The room was clean and comfortable. I loved the activities such as the snorkelling. Great location, people and hotel!

Cozy little place to spend time with family and friends. The staff is super welcoming. Too bad it's going to be closed for about 6 months to wait out covid-19. Hoping for better times ahead.

Thx so much to the whole team of the 20 sud degrés Hotel. They made our holiday trip to Mauritius unforgetable. All of the staff were very kind and friendly and they tried every day to do their best to make our stay in the hotel memorable. :-) Btw ... we stayed there for 14 nights. So we got a lot of time to make some experience there. :-)

It is really hard to find a fault. The staff was attentive and helpful, the location on the bay is gorgeous and the food and drinks are exceptional, making the half board option more than worth it. My room was right on the beach and the view from the balcony is hard to beat! I couldn't have been happier with my stay here and I look forward to coming back in the future! It is outside of the main town, but there is a free water taxi to take you back and forth throughout the day. They can also arrange taxis and a variety of excursions.

We enjoyed the most relaxing stay you can imagine, in this very pretty, tranquile boutique hotel (adult-only). Our Austral Suite was spacious and beautiful, with amazing sunrise view on Grand Baie. The staff was super friendly and attentive and the restaurant outstanding. The secret spa was peaceful and the therapists, and also the boatmen taking us snorkling, were fantastic. The private beach is perfect and beautiful. We want to go back!

Very Expensive hotell!! 12 EUR for water, 500 EUR for a massage, 18 EUR for a drink and 50 EUR to get 8 cloths washed. They are service minded very kind people but be aware they charge a lot for everything. Nice very clean hotel and very well build and also amazing food. Not good bathing in the sea and no snorkling that is very bad. Pool is also cold. Staff if very kind and food is great, very good restaurang and cozy mood. If you want to go to a beach go to the west side or some place that is not windy or that bad situated. Have traveled a lot so know what is good or bad.
