I love this place! I have been to many aquarium stores around The Valley as my daughter and i were learning and trying to set up a sea salt aquarium. This location is our favorite everyone there is helpful and very nice. Vina took the time to show me everything i would need, he even set up the filters for me so I wouldn’t struggle once i got home! He gave me his contact info in case i had any further questions. Definitely recommend this place to everyone thats wondering . 10/10. ❤️

I absolutely LOVE this place!!! The prices and deals are great, the service and staff are amazing. I've bought a 20 gallon tank, 2 driftwoods from them and They also have quite the selection in tanks, features, devices, and water creatures. The store is also easy to find and has good parking.

I’ve always had a great experience in this store. I’ve enjoyed talking to the guys who work there, who clearly enjoy the hobby and are full of useful information. I came in, most recently, to purchase some new driftwood to rescape my largest tank. I was given some invaluable information on how to improve my freshwater sump, and even given some egg crate to make a baffle. Sure, egg crate might be fairly inexpensive, but as one hobbyist helping another, it was a genuine gift in good faith…and that speaks volumes about their store. Thank you so much!

Going to start by saying there are not many stores that are as kind as this one. Ian and Vena are both very nice gentleman and are there truly because they love the hobby. I learned a lot on my visit, I’ve tried multiple stores across Arizona and this one it’s definitely at the top of my list, I live in Tucson and it’s definitely worth the drive. Their store is clean and has a great layout I would suggest this to anyone new to the hobby, they have fish tanks to chose from and can truly get you going without breaking the bank, if you have no clue how to start please go here and give them your business and get started in the hobby! (Ps) look at this awesome piece of drift wood I got! Definitely a unique piece.

Started my aquarium with this place! Really laid back staff and owner is honest and upfront with what you need. They have a decent fresh and saltwater fish selection, also Coral frags and plenty of live rock. They have a small selection of aquatic plants but they usually get new ones fairly often. But they do have plenty of is used fish tanks and equipment at reasonable prices!

Absolutely love this place! They take really good care of their fish and their tanks, all fish look healthy! Although they are always out of the fish I've been looking for (pea puffers). 10/10 would recommend going if you want to get into fish!

I’ve gone to just about every aquarium store in the valley and none can even try to compete with Discount Aquarium. The prices alone are enough to put the other stores to shame but they don’t stop there. The staff are always polite and very informative about the fish and what needs they require. The environment is very relaxed and it’s apparent how much passion the staff have for the animals and ensuring you walk away with what you need to keep the happiness of the animals. While other stores can have a better variety of animals, I’ve yet to buy fish from somewhere else. Also, to address some of the other negative reviews that seem to only be negative because a staff member didn’t immediately ask to help them. You’re an adult. You can ask for help from a staff member. Or wait patiently until someone is available to help. Lastly, it’s a store where people trade in their old stuff for a better deal on what they are currently purchasing. Of course the store will have used equipment laying out. If you’re unable to see the value in a store like this I feel very sorry for you. I’ve yet to have a single bad experience with this store and doubt I ever will.

Awesome store for used aquariums and equipment needed to startup a fish tank. They have stands skimmers used substrate, live rock, ect. Very small selection for fresh/salt water fish. A little disappointment with a purchase of a fire eel with ick, however employee was understanding and gave reassurance of return policy if needed. The main attraction personally was their stingrays.

10/10 Aquarium store, Employees are very kind and helpful, Owner Chris always has helpful information and tips for your aquarium. Have bought Cherry Shrimp, Ramhorn snails, and Mollies. All these fish have survived months, and still continuing. Cherry shrimps have only had one casualty throughout the entire process, This store has the most quality Fishes, and when they have a stock of plants their also top notch quality. Zero complaints about this Store, I prefer this store over any other local aquarium store near, purely due to their hospitality and consistency. Thank you Chris, and your amazing team!

This aquarium store has amazing fish tanks! The Angelfish were beautiful! They have a lot of Cichlids, plants and supplies.

Customer service was good. Friendly and professional: prices and selection not so good. African cichlids are $25-$40 a peice. Got same fish for $7.99- $11.99 at petCo. Cleanliness needs to be addressed as well.

These guys are very fair with trades and all work hard to ensure customer satisfaction! If you’re looking to get your tanks set up without blowing a ton of money on new equipment these guys got you! Just know going used comes with some hiccups here and there so you gotta be patient for the hobby isn’t for impatient people! They will get you right!

Great experience, especially from a first time fish owner. From the moment we walked through the door we were greeted and asked how we could be helped, then we had a ton of useful knowledge passed along to help ensure I am a successful first time fish owner. They are incredibly friendly and they have tons of supplies, fish (both saltwater and freshwater) and everything else you might need for your tank. Definitely recommend checking them out

This is by far, the cleanest saltwater aquarium shop that I have ever been in to. I like that their frag tanks are raised to eye level so you can really see what you are getting. Also they are very helpful and knowledgeable when it comes to their live stock and equipment they sell. I would definitely recommend this place to any reefer out there. P.S. their prices are great, too!

This store was full of beautiful fish, peticularly Betta, that we went to see. Right away they had helpful (and funny) customer service. Their fish all looked pretty good and they had a wide variety. I had been to THREE other aquarium stores and didn't have what I was looking for and right away they pointed us in the right direction. I look forward to coming back for more little guys.

Chris, the owner, is the man! Operates his business with integrity. Great customer service and unbeatable values it seems. Always happy to have a need to go in here because I know I’ll leave happy. These guys probably have what you’re looking for at a price that’s better than expected.

The people who had negative comments about this place do not listen to them and I double they have what it takes to run a place like this for as long as Chris has. Way back in 2016 they sold me a nice quality 10 gallon and 2.5 gallon for the low like seriously there is noway I would have ever found them cheaper anywhere else. Unfortunately I had to move so I'm retiring those to tank and going in tomorrow to look for a tank for my new bigger place but I will update the review once I make the purchase which I'm sure will remain the same.

Fantastic fish store. I went in to upgrade my tank & was able to trade my old tank in towards a new one! Great staff, very knowledgeable. Would recommend anyone to stop by if interested in the hobby

The employees here are great. They know their stuff. They gave some very simple helpful tips to improve my tank. This is my go to place and I will continue to do business with them.

I came in today and bought a really nice fluval flex tank with the stand for a great price. The guy that helped me was so patient with me being a beginner and asking questions. The store was well kept and the fish looked happy. They have a great selection of used aquariums and the staff is friendly. I will definitely be going back.

We went to this store as a first time fish family with 4 kids under age 6. I always worry this spells disaster, especially in any place that’s filled with glass, but my six year old was dead set on a fish for his birthday. They were AMAZING! They took the time to teach the kids (and parents) about fish care, showed us different fish, listened to our needs and got us a perfect fit for our new fishy friends. I was so impressed with this shop and the people who worked there. I cannot recommend them enough! They were kind, patient and made the extra effort to make this a special experience for our family (even helping to decorate our new tank). Thanks to Vinu (I’m sure I’m spelling it wrong -sorry!), you made a fantastic impression on our home!

A friend took me in for my first time and I was happy he did! This place has an extremely knowledgeable staff and they are all super cool. Ready to help you even when one is limping around with a wrapped up knee. I cannot say enough about what a great experience I had shopping at Discount. I’m a life long customer now.

As a facility manager, David and his companion at Discount Aquarium did an amazing job setting up a brand new aquarium in our lobby. They were steadfast and committed to giving an excellent installation of our new aquarium we purchased from them. I highly recommend Discount Aquarium and their expert staff for supplies, equipment or a new aquarium purchase.

Absolutely amazing experience here! Christopher was very nice and helpful and its so good to know that all the fish here are getting the best care! the bettas actually have water flow, unlike at chain pet stores. 10/10 can't wait to come back!

I'm very happy to have discovered this store. Yes they are busy, but got excellent customer service here. Perhaps it needs to be realized this store offers new as well as used. I enjoyed the selection of used aquariums. I wasn't overly impressed with the new show room stores with show room prices for partical board aquarium stands. I bought a 125 gallon aquarium with a solid brown wood stand. I bought it at a fraction of the price of new. They even loaded it in the back of my truck as I'm disabled. And I'm proud to have it in my living room.

It was my daughter's first fish tank. She was so excited that she was jumping up and down. The employee ( I apologize I don't remember his name) was very patient and made the experience even better. Thank you and we will definitely be back. Did I mention we drove from Maricopa. It is only a 6.5 gallon tank but all the fish inside are healthy and thriving. Thanks again.

These guys are hands down the best aquarium store in the valley. They have equipment and hard to find tanks, pumps, uv, pond equipment...you name it and it is all at discount prices. No fuss, no hand holding, just good old fashioned experience based answers to any questions. They started me out right and have never dissapointed since! Go in person.

Awesome place easy on the budget great ppl vertical helpful and caring ok been back many times now never had any problem getting help ask for Scott he will go all out to get you what you need and the savings I got and info made me get another smaller tank Scott and all helped me even get a tank set up for a friend that is very sick and now in a wheel chair sshhhh she hasn't got it yet she went to the hospital again but they helped me set her up sweet 10 gallon tank and plants etc they care not only about fish but ppl will add the pic of the tank when I go set it up for her so keep checking back o remember ask for Scott he will never talk at you 😉 and cares to help everyone he can or ask for guppy guy if you want any kind of fish or answer about fish etc learning a lot from them all are tank looks great and the fish are happy

This is a unique store. Everything I got here I used and fish more than met expectations. One of important features is the ability to learn in learning to act responsibly. New and used equipment are very good value in getting as needed.

Tucked inside a shopping center, you wouldn't even know there was a fish store there. Once walking inside things are a bit jumbled and kinda organized, but dirty. Had to lean over a table to check out fish in the ponds. Most of the tanks were dirty and fish were not spectacular by any means. Staff was helpful and pleasant, but didn't come to see them come to see fish. Not much variety, and some looked very thin. They have a large selection of new and refurbished tanks, used aquarium plants and decor. Descent prices. Probably would not visit store again.

This place is a bit tough to review. When it comes to used equipment this place is excellent. I am okay with dirty stuff because cleaning it would raise the prices. I don't really come here for fish since that's not their speciality, so it's cool to look. When ever I visit this store I am normally at the end of a 3 store pet run. Meaning I have usually visited all the primary stores in Mesa before coming here. I don't really expect or even invite a lot of attention when I am in a store. I simply want to see the price, an be able to check out when I am ready. That is where we have a issue. Unless the employees out number the customers in the store you are hard-pressed to check out in a timely manner. I have come to the store quite a few times and that's my only gripe. It's not a big box store so I don't expect a ton of employees, I do expect the ones that are there to have their heads on a swivel. I went with 4 stars for now because the lack of checkout speed has saved me money I probably shouldn't have been spending.
