Called in for lunch today and what a treat. I had chilli prawn linguine and it was 1st class. Best pub grub ever. Staff were fabulous too. Highly recommend

Arranged to meet pals here today for lunch. Youngish manager (?) very informative about the ‘ new today ‘ menu. Plenty to choose with local produce being prominent….. we’re told. Ordered the prawn and calamari entrees . Wow . Fresh. Tasty, beautifully presented. Ten out of ten. Excited about our mains…..My husband ordered a burger, it’s just ok he said. Our pal had the beetroot salad. Bright & colourful with lovely flavours he said. I was told there’d been a mistake with my roasted sweet potato with Cajun spices and they’d deliver it when it was ready. My husband and our friend had finished their meals, my husband went to the bistro servery to ask about my meal - it’s coming soon…….he was told. Eventually my meal came, with the offer of a glass of wine to compensate for the 30 minute wait, gratefully accepted, Thankyou. There was not one hint of Cajun spice whatsoever on my cold, boring, unappetising meal. Terrible. Awful. Actually to be honest it was disgusting. To add insult to injury, the ‘complimentary wine ‘ was some house variety which was definitely NOT what I’d been drinking. Will we go back?? Not a hope with the attitude of the female staff who delivered my ‘ meal ‘. So disappointed after our entrees were spectacular.

4 yrs ago I wrote "Good pub food at reasonable cost." 6/11/23 The ginger beer battered fish and chips were delicious. The garlic prawn linguine was also. The steak was cooked nicely and I heard murmurs around the table ," this is delicious". So I'm going to lift the 3 star rating to 4. It was a little more expensive than reasonable tonight, but the quality has improved. Huge range of beers on tap with an adequate wine selection.

Wow, another amazing pub... I had barramundi, chips & salad.. the dressing was fabulous... Staff were friendly, sometimes seemingly distracted though in the restaurant.. lovely options to eat indoors or outdoors. Wonderful.

Friendly helpful staff who went the extra mile for the smallest member of our group. Nice food and good range to cover all tastes. Seating was not too close together which made it feel spacious - a bonus. Will be back.

Great pub. Walked in delighted to discover the board outside promoting happy hour. Asked what beers were on Happy Hour. Asked if I was a member? Happy Hour only applies to locals. Never experienced this before.

Had dinner at the Bangalow Hotel with my wife- we enjoyed delicious fare straight from the fry pan to our table with flavour to boot. So good having a great chef and a relaxed vibe with friendly staff. Makes all the difference. Highly recommended.

Great service, food and atmosphere, it's a proper Aussie pub and always an enjoyable experience. One of the very few places I've been where when I ask for no salad they offer extra chips. It's those sort of little things that I really appreciate about the service.

This pub has an excellent atmosphere and a wonderful historic charm. The main bar area looks like it’s been untouched since the World War II. The food here is excellent. There are several places where you can enjoy your food and drinks - on a modern eatery deck, near the side bar or out on the northern terrace. The staff are very friendly.

Came to Bangalore Hotel whilst in town for a bucks party. Didn’t really know what to expect from this place but it was buzzing on the Friday night we where there. Plenty of places to pull up in this place all with different vibes to suit whatever environment your looking for. By the fire or on the dance floor with live music it’s all there. Food was really good and met with the owner who looked after us all night! All in all great place to be would highly recommend!

Restaurant quality meals. The Taste and flavour were definitely not your average pub meals. The Chef does an amazing job.

Undercooked chicken Maryland, worst $40 steak I have ever had, awful flavour, fatty, sinewy and gamy! If I hadn’t been so hungry, I would’ve sent it back. This place was amazing when it was Frescas but has progressively gone downhill since they changed hands. No wonder the place is half empty in what is supposed to be the busiest night of the year after the Bangalow show. I will never be back until I hear that the place is under new management. What a shame. This is supposed to be in my local!

The calamari and the pork sliders were perfect for a light shared lunch. Local Lager was perfect for an early spring day.

Nice atmosphere but terrible food. So expensive. the chicken parmi tasted pree crumbed and frozen plus the Napoli sauce wasn’t even cooked. You know when tomatoes are still tart and haven’t had time to sweeten. They also charge ridiculous amount for sauce on the side. Ended up being $30 for a parmi that I couldn’t even finish. Had to feed it to the dog. If you want the best $20 parmi with all sauces included go to nimbin pub. No wanky price tags and actually good food.

We have been going to the Bangalow Pub for over 30 years and never had service as bad as yesterday. I found the restaurant waiter extremely rude. We waited over 1 1/2 hours for our food. Friends had ordered 15 mins after us & had eaten & finished a long time before we got our meals. When I went to ask if the meals were on there way the waiter just said “your in the que” 2nd time “it’ll be a couple of minutes “ Not once did I get an apology for the delay & when I brought it to his attention how rude he was he just argued at me, with no apology at all. He was extremely rude abrupt and aweful. The man in the bar was not much better. He had very negative attitude with rude remarks to both my husband & a friend. I think the waiter needs training in customer service skills & that you don’t argue back with a client, as all I would have wanted was a simple apology for the wait. Very disappointing.

Called in for lunch but hardly impressed. I ordered the expensive burger expecting the mouth watering promise. They missed by a mile. The bun was dry and stale and the cooks used way to much sauce. Result was a crumbling mess. It's the second poor meal I've had here. On the upside the beer was cold.

Lovely old hotel, situated on main street towards top of hill. Staff were friendly, warm & helpful. Had Bundagerg ginger beer fish & chips, sorry to say fish wasn't the best, however was eatable. Accompanying salad was nice, needed some more orange & walnuts. Chips were great.
