The rail museum compound is a great place for enjoying with family and kids...It has many old artifacts and models of rail equipment... showing history of Indian Railway. The compound also act as amusement park and houses many swings and playing grounds for kids. The main attraction is the toy train which provides ride throughout the day. There is a restaurant named Palace on wheels made using rail compartment/boggy. It serves tasty food. Tickets ₹20 for entry and ₹10 for toy train ride (see pic). Timings: see pic. For more clarity and details please check the pictures and like it.

Best place to visit with kids. The place is full of train engine and coaches used in past. They have collection of many such objects. Also the joy train and toy train in a must ride thing for everyone. Dont forgot to take the coach simulator ride. These three are most recommended rides. The place is perfect for taking pictures and spent 2 to 3 hrs.

The park is clean and well maintained. Museum in-house framed photographs as well as old railway parts. The cafeteria serves good food at an affordable price. Toy train and swings are the center of amusement for kids. One can plan a family visit in the evening time here.

Nice to visit here .. i often visit here twice in a month since 6 yrs. Witness of lots of positive changes. which is good. It's good place for children. lots of equipment added since 2 yrs Cleanliness is good , thumps up for staffs. If we visit in the प्रदर्शनी हाल Lots of old equipment which was used in Starting days of railway,Many images are placed which is quite interesting to watch. Coatch restaurant is nice to visit but honestly telling it's slightly costly even all the food items are costly from market. Toy train is attractive for children. One should visit at least once. Lightings are placed which looks quite well in the evening and night.

It is museum along with a park, nothing great in it. It is perfect place for nibba nibbi as there are lot of bushy areas so they can easily create some core memories. If you really like museums then this place has not much things to offer.

Rail Museum is a must-see tourist attraction in Gorakhpur for people of all ages, especially kids. Railway Museum, through its exhibits, tells the history of North Indian Railway. For that, several old coal-running trains and demo trains are put up on display at this popular museum in Gorakhpur. Besides, heavy machines and engines are also there to tell the history of the world’s largest rail network. Amongst all exhibits, Lord Lawrence’s Stream Engine is the major highlight of this renowned tourist attraction in Gorakhpur. This engine was built in London in 1874 and was imported to India through the sea. It is also the first engine that was used by the North Indian Railway. Apart from this, there is also a has a gallery which exhibits uniform wore by railway men at different times, clocks, furniture, library, photo gallery and much more. Adding an altogether a different charm in the uniqueness of this major tourist site in Gorakhpur is Toy Train. This is an important attraction of the museum which is specially set up for children. They can hop to these toy trains and can enjoy a fun ride. Another highlight of this place is the food plaza which is magnificently housed in a railway compartment. A visit to the Railway Museum is certainly a treat for tourists holidaying in Gorakhpur. Tickets are priced at ₹10 (2 hours only). But you have to pay for the eatables 😄🤭.

In Rail museum you can go any days as weekday, weekend, or public holiday. There are few things which are old is interesting , while other you can see at railway station too . Rail museum is not so interesting place to visit because it is used as park more and less as museum. There is only one hall in which all the olden times things are kept. Museum is not museum is more likely a couple park. Couple seating every corner were no one watch or see them. I DON'T RECOMMEND FAMILY TO VISIT HERE IN RAIL MUSEUM.

Awesome...I never knew that in 1853 first train of India started its journey...not did this..that sum of length of Indian railways tracks is over 1.5 times of earth periphery...and IR carries more passengar per day to what Australian population is... Taste treat...toy train...children's play area...sure to have a happy time.

(Translated by Google) This unique railway museum and attached amusement park is a center of attraction in Gorakhpur tourist destination. The museum was opened to the public in the year 2007. The most special attraction of this museum is the steam engine of Lord Lawrence. It was built in London in 1874 and imported into India by a ship. Apart from this, there is a photo gallery, uniforms, old watches and even other engines. There is also a toy train here to entertain the children. It will take about 2 hours to tour this entire museum. A great place for children to learn about the history of railways along with entertainment like the toy train, the train restaurant and park. The restaurant has pretty average food but goes with the minimal pricing. The VIP coach of the restaurant, of course has a better service but is accessible to lesser people.

It is located opposite to the Park road. It remains open all the days except Monday from 12am-9pm. After the ticket window, a road lined with Ashoka tree leads to the museum. For the enjoyment of kids there is a mini toy train on the left. After taking a ten rupee ticket to the toy train children can ride on it which run around the museum. The museum has a big crane, a steam engine and a road roller of past times. The main attraction of this museum is the Lord Lawrence Steam Engine which was built in 1874 in London. On going down the museum one can see a beautiful children’s park with see- saws and other small rides. There is a Human size statues of a Porter, a Nurse and a Signalman is also present. The museum has many small galleries showing information like history and advancement of railways, trophies won by the NE Railways etc. There is a unique food plaza on Small train compartments lined up as mini restaurants with serving tables and chairs.

Yeah I have visited this place recently by alone. And it was a good trip. There are many informative things you can see here. It was not too much crowded but yeah in Sundays you will see the croud. The reason to give 4 star is that there are some things that I have observed that is :- 1) The fountain which was working but it was splitting water outside the boundary of it. 2) Some swings are need to be repaired. 3) Some trains are there which also need to be coloured. They are left as usual. Although when you will come you will definitely ignore this and you will enjoy the place. But my work is to ensure. So be happy and enjoy life. ☺️ Thank you ❤️.
