Absolutely beautiful bushland surrounding this location that has walk trails set out amongst it. The sporting area is well maintained... on a busy day you must allow time to depart with only 1 exit point for the whole venue on each side of the facility!

Ray Owen Reserve is an AFL Oval in Winter and cricket pitch in summer. There are also indoor courts for basketball and netball. And outdoor netball courts and a BMX track on the reserve. Parking is often hard during netball/footy season but other than that fine. The whole block is surrounded by classic Perth Bushland- it is a great urban spot to take photos of wildflowers including Donkey and Cowslip Orchids in the spring and Kangaroo Paw in the summer. Around 12 varieties of bird regularly inhabit the area with another 5-10 less common visitors. There are a number of tracks through the reserve which are under the cover of the trees making in a good place to walk for exercise on the hotter days.

Good place for sport loving youngsters

Only visted as had a delivery. Although looked like a good sports field with cricket pitch and basket ball Courts. Plenty of parking and not hard to find following google maps.

Hills BMX Club situated at Ray Owen Reserve with a great race track and plenty of parking available.

Although parking is challenging at Saturday Netball, this is a great spot for fundraising sausage sizzles, soups & cake stalls😊 More toilet facilities would be great!

Ray Owen Reserve has become a special place for our family, thanks to my son's basketball games every Thursday. We've had such a positive experience there, and I can't say enough good things about it. First and foremost, the atmosphere at Ray Owen Reserve is fantastic. The well-maintained basketball court, the cheering crowds, and the sense of community make it a wonderful place to spend Thursday evenings. It's not just about the game but also about the camaraderie and friendships that have developed over time. The facilities are top-notch. The court is in excellent condition, providing a safe and enjoyable environment for the players. The seating for spectators is comfortable, and there's ample space for everyone to enjoy the game. The organization of the basketball games is commendable. The schedule is consistent, and we always know what to expect. The staff and volunteers who run the games are incredibly dedicated, ensuring that everything runs smoothly. They've created a positive and inclusive environment for players of all ages and skill levels. One of the most heartwarming aspects of Ray Owen Reserve is the sense of community it fosters. The support from fellow parents, friends, and even strangers in the stands is truly special. It's more than just a game; it's a gathering of people who share a love for basketball and the joy of watching their kids play. We appreciate the dedication of everyone involved in making Ray Owen Reserve a great place for basketball. It's not only about the sport itself but also about the life lessons and friendships that our kids are gaining through this experience.
