Very Rude Floor Manager . When we were close to finishing our food, they wanted us to vacate the table so they could serve other customers. The use of the toilets is clearly marked as only for the customers. Yet when I asked if I could use the rest room the floor manager said even though we are customers , we finished our food and were gone from the premises. A very bizarre explaination given the fact that Iam still standing in their premises talking to her. This cafe has immense potential given the fact of its location and outdoor view, provided it's run by a capable and professional staff.

Place smelt abit like urine. Enough with the good points, let's talk about the bad stuff. We bought a cake to celebrate a birthday party. We were told that it would be $3 cakeage a person. Since we had about 25 people there we thought that was too expensive for a cake that only cost about $20 to make. We were told we could serve and eat the cake outside of the cafe complex. They wouldn't give us a knife or even serviettes, maybe hoping we would pay the $75 for a knife and serviettes. So we ended up having the cake in the park near it. A group having a BBQ even gave us serviettes for free. Some people are still decent. The food that they served was decent.... According to my 8 year old who has just starting learning to cook. She said she could almost make it as good. I told her she underestimated herself cause I reckon my 5 year old could do better. Burgers are cooked with burger or chicken patties straight from the fridge and put together with less care than a stoner on a TV ad break . No where else around to eat but you may do better with the orange tree that's nearby

Staff (two older ladies in particular) so RUDE. We were told to walk around and come back later, which we did. Two hours later, we came back but were told how they are busy and we have no chance of getting a table. Just as she said that, people at the table overheard and said - we are leaving! The lady was not happy at all. After significant wait, we were finally told that we have to order at the counter. When I came to the counter, the older lady behind the register looked at me and just turned around and went into the kitchen, saying I will be back. When she eventually reappeared, I started placing my order, she couldn't remember what I said and had to repeat, SLOWLY. The strawberry milk shake that I ordered was nothing but a diluted milk with Nesquick strawberry flavor. When I complained that it is not a milkshake, the young girls started attacking me saying that it is, that it has ice cream and syrup. Well, it didn't. As we were getting out, I witnessed how one of the two older serving women being so abusive towards one of the young mums with children for giving them some food not being bought at cafe. The mum said that they have ordered food, but while waiting, children are hungry. She was forced to stop feeding them and move food away. SO BAD EXPERIENCE, I DON'T KNOW HOW THEY MANAGE TO GET AWAY WITH THIS WITH SO MANY BAD REPORTS BELOW. I WILL KEEP WRITING UNTIL SOMEONE DOES SOMETHING ABOUT THIS. WE DESERVE BETTER IN WA.

I went there with my daughter and my pregnancy wife. There was no table at time, and if you want to order food you must provide a table number for dine in. So we ordered takeaway drinks and wait for a table. After we got a table we had order some more food and drink. But when the waitress was bringing the glass of ice mocha to my table, she asked me and my wife and my daughter go away because we had ordered “takeaway drinks” that can not seat in for lunch. I can’t understand why she hold my “dine in ice coffee” and ask me to go? That’s unbelievable and uncomfortable journey.

Enjoyed an almond milk cappuccino on a crisp fresh morning whilst overlooking the ecological beauty of Araluen Botanic Park. Indoor and outdoor seating available as well as takeaway. Snacks and hot meals available. Can get very busy during peak times.

I was told this cafe building was built in the late 19th century. It is old but structurally solid. So nice to get a table during non-peak hours. The Bonissimo coffee bean was dark roasted. The Long Macchiato top-up was a bit smooth and nutty. I liked the roasted aroma and a bit sour taste. This cafe had a romantic atmosphere because of the thoughtful decoration with woods, timber supports, grape trees, and flower plants. It has another corner just for takeaway coffee. What a nice place to have good coffee and a good view of varieties of colourful tulips. Cheers! (2021-09-19)

The service was very average, there seemed to be alot of confusion. The meals were served on a plastic tray, and were inedible with " extra pieces" in that were indescribable. The salad consisted of some wilted rocket leaves with no dressing or anything else. Definately not worth the prices they are charging.

Fantastic food! The crispy Squid is to die for and the Japanese Wagu steak is by fat the best bit of meat I've had in a very long time. Well done !!

Misleading menu, advertised garlic bread on sourdough for $8, received two Tip Top or Wonderwhite bun tops. Emailed the restaurant before posting as we couldn’t get the attention of staff. No reply (almost 2 weeks ago) Memorise your table number before ordering to save an awkward walk of shame back through the restaurant to get it, then listen to the rest of the line be offended you’ve cut the line. Bit of a weird set up but that can be forgiven. $8 for two .60c bun tops advertised as sour dough cannot. Take a picnic...

I went for lunch today. Limited choices for vegetarian. I was with a client and had a small budget and didn't want to pay $25 for a cauliflower steak. Was given a couple of altered options. Chose the Bruchetta with avocado and feta. $12 for one small and extremely thin piece of sourdough with the smallest amount of of tomato, avocado and feta. Plenty of gaps on my bread when presented. No presentation as well. Very disappointing.

Beautiful visit to the park on father's day with my family. The cafe is pretty, but a little dated with decor. However, the staff were wonderful and put up with the pressure. You could see they were busy. Great burger! Hot chocolate to die for. Coffee a little weak for me, I should have got an extra shot! Overall, great day out with family, wonderful cafe staff, good café style food. I will be back next year.. with hopefully more tulips on display.

Nice Cafe in the botanical garden. Great views with plenty of seating and a decent selection of menu items for breakfast and lunch. Can't speak for the coffee but the hot chocolate was awesome! Ended up having 2! Lunch was great, the caesar salad was perfect and would have again time and time again. Overall decent experience, thank you.

Absolutely disgusting customer service, was told to hurry up eating and leave for new customers to come have our table. Very small portions of food for how much you pay. Will never eat here again

The food is of bad quality and over priced. Only thing fresh is the side salad. The service was alright but cafe was almost empty. They also refuse to serve tap water (which from my understanding is not allowed in WA). I suggest forgetting this cafe exists and bring your own food.

The young woman who served us here was shockingly rude. I asked to change my tea to a take away as she was pouring hot water into a tea pot. She finished by slamming the tea pot down and then slamming my tea down in front of me. Girl, what the actual f***

Coffee was poor, taste diluted, milk froth crude, so as the chai latte which was overly sweet and artificial. Older lady staff manners lukewarm. Go to a cafe nearby Araluen when leaving, not this one. You will still get the view and experience the area. Or better yet, pack your own lunch, coffee and tea.

My husband, son and I had lunch at Chalet Healy yesterday and I just want you to know it was delicious. There were 2 barramundi with a very tasty sauce and 1 pulled lamb shoulder, equally excellent. Full marks.

Very long wait in the queue for food, tables not cleared. Why do you advertise abundantly for this weekend and not planned to cope? Why?

There are BBQ facilities. Pack a picnic and save yourself the expensive disappointment. We booked ahead to ensure a table for Father’s Day breakfast at 10am. Ended up in a traffic cue for 20 mi utes so my son got our and went to make sure we did t lose our table. They ordered coffee and when we arrived we also ordered coffee and breakfast. The lady came out with our coffees and put one in front of a person that clearly already had a coffee and her thumbs were all over the saucer. (Gross) Easy fix they were busy so we just juggled them around so everyone had one. Then the wait started….. it literally took just over an hour for our breakfasts to arrive and when they did, they were 2 at a time. We instructed the kids to go ahead and eat so theirs didn’t get any colder than they already were. When ours arrived more than 5 minutes after that (also cold) there was a Hash brown sitting on top that looked like they had found it on the floor under the stove! I obviously didn’t eat it but did show the girl at the till when we were paying for our meals. She made a joke about the chef, but really couldnt have cared less. No offer to remove the price of the hash brown from the bill or even a proper apology. Unacceptable for 120 dollar breakfast. It’s such a shame because the weather was perfect, the grounds of Araluen are beautiful.

Recently went there for "Devonshire Tea" and left disappointed. Plus points: the view was lovely. The scones and tea were just okay, but the service and presentation was very lacking. We were dining in but tea was served in paper cups with bag left in. Poor quality jam in little plastic container. They gave the wrong type of tea to my friend and we had to go and ask for it to be changed. It took forever to come and we were told they couldn't find us, despite us being the only people on the lower level where we told them we were sitting there. They were about to microwave the scones...don't do this please, or at least ask first. Overall disappointing...next time we'll remember to BYO Thermos and scones.

We really enjoyed our meal at Chalet Healy. Service was very friendly, and the food was fantastic. They accommodated our dietary requirements with no problem, and served up a delicious meal very quickly. We'll definitely return!

Save your money and avoid this place. I went there with my parents and my toddler on Monday, and we experienced the worst service ever. We had to queue 15min just to order, they had run out of most sweet options (it was 11am) and the only tea available was English Breakfast. We paid $35 for 2 teas, a cappucino, a babycino ($3!) and 2 small slices of cake. We then had to wait more than 30min to be served. The teas were just teabags in hot water, the cappucino didn't have any chocolate and the babycino was just a small cup of cold milk. We complained but weren't taken seriously so after waiting 10min we left. I accept that cafes are under pressure at the moment, it's hard to find staff, and given the location, I can also understand the high prices. But there is no excuse for the poor quality of the drinks we were served, and the complete lack of care for the customers. Never again!

We shared the falafel salad bowl which was lovely unfortunately the coffee was very average and we only got one undercooked floury scone with canned cream for $8.50, seriously? Very expensive for what we got, one salad, 2 coffees and one scone, I think $54.00 is a bit over the top!!

We went in the morning, very pretty cafe. Clean. Price are a little high (makes sense for the remoteness). The chips and spring rolls were very nice, spring rolls in particular were larger than expected and tasted good. Premises was very clean. View outside is really good. I see a lot of reviews about the service but we were one of only three small groups there at the time (summer mornings are always quiet at Araluen) so our service was quick and I can't fault it for the short amount we had.
