Located on the border of a very picturesque village (Gossau) is a child friendly zoo, where animal conservation and repopulation of Amur Tigers and other threatened species is the main goal. The layout is quite family friendly with lots of different playgrounds, thematically incorporated with the enclosure next to it. They perform a kids' theatre twice a day (11am and 3pm). Several restaurants can be found at both ends of the zoo. The only complaints I habe is the expensive rides on the playground (2.--/per ride) and the long wait after ordering food. But you are allowed to eat your own food as well.
Beautiful small zoo, with most animals not in cages just wooden enclosures. Lots of animal human enteraction. You can feed alot of the animals, adults and children. Great place for a day out with the family 😊
I really enjoyed every second of my visit there <3 Highly recommend it. Very clean and well organized. Also thank you very much to the friendly staff and especially to Luke, he was absolutely stunning as a guide and his English well spoken. I will deffo come back for a second visit. 10/10
We went on a Thursday afternoon, and despite it being a weekday the place was quite crowded, partly also because the zoo is rather small and you can't really avoid bumping into each other. Parking is also not easy, the parking space was full and one had to park on the side of the street and walk back quite a bit. Other than that it was a nice short trip. What i love is that you can bring your dog (without any additional fee), and the staff is also super friendly and helpful.☺️
This is a fantastic small zoo with some really interesting animals, all set in an idyllic rolling hills landscape. We combined our day with the Wildlife Park Peter and Paul for a good 1/2 day outing.
Our favourite local zoo!! We love to pass the time in the afternoon at the zoo because we live close by...when we are bored we walk over to the zoo, enjoy a gelato and watch the animals and the theatre is also excellent!!
Very cool place for adults and kids! Feeding animals is always nice experience..
Nice small Zoo with lots of Animals, even Panters, Lions, Tigers and more. Lots of fun for the whole family and not crowded at all. Only thing they could improve is signs, its hard to get around without a paper map and everything is in German only
