Place situated in the Natural park of la Serralada de la Marina whit great views over the city of Badalona and the Mediterranean sea. The place is communicated whit non-asphalted road were the people walks and runs or goes whit bicycle. There are a lot of different routes you can reach the Monastery and other different attractive areas near it like La creu de Montigala or the ruins of Can Alemany. One detail to take in account is the fact that the area were the monastery is situated doesn't accept dogs or animals. It has a good parking area and its good mantained.

The monastery of San Jerónimo de la Murtra is located next to a nice hiking route and would be definitely worth to visit. Apparently there a special opening hours and you need to book an appointment.

A place for thoughts and silence but not solitude. Marvelous and friendly hosts always ready to share the little they have and offer a warm smile and friendship. Scenic views and amazing medieval structure filled with beautiful corners.

The Monastery of San Jerónimo de la Murtra ( Sant Jeroni de la Murtra in Catalan ) is a former monastery of the Jerónima Order built in the Gothic style at the beginning of the  15th century . It is located in the natural environment of the Sierra de la Marina , in the municipality of Badalona in the Province of Barcelona ( Catalonia , Spain ).

A real gem really close to the city!

Nice Monastery from 200 years ago. Located in a natural park where you can do it a amazing hiking with amazing city views. You can visit inside but it is open for visit only on Sundays and with preview appointment. One of my favorite places in Barcelona/Badalona. Usually I come here during the week days for have some chill moment with myself.
