Our otherwise nice stay at the hotel was overshadowed by the theft of items from our room. Worse than the theft itself is the hotel management’s response, which has been abysmal. They claimed they needed a police report. I filed one. They said they would make things right. They haven’t. Now they’re blaming their slow response (2+ months and counting) on their insurance company. We spent thousands of dollars at the hotel and only asked for a night or two compensation for our loss. At one point the hotel manager had the audacity to refer me to the fine print (that nobody reads) on the hotel contract stating they weren’t responsible for theft. They’ve now stopped responding to my emails. Very disappointed in hotel management’s response. The hotel itself is nice, as is the location. But you should have to worry about your things being stolen from a hotel of this quality.

Extremely hospitable Staff. My husband and I are celebrating our 30th anniversary in Barcelona. This hotel was recommended by a friend who lives here. Not only is it clean and comfortable, the staff treat us like family. They take the time to explain the location, the sites,and modes of transportation to all of their guests. I would highly recommend to all of my friends.

Personal issue: We had read online that Olivia Balmes offered a vegan breakfast if you let them know. We listed this in our booking and also emailed several days before the trip. They never responded. Upon arrival, we asked about the vegan breakfast and the concierge explained that they had options and that the server could explain which things were vegan. The next morning, we went down for breakfast and asked about vegan options and the guy laughed at us and said they didn’t have anything. We tried again another day and still no options. Also disappointing from a hotel that claims to be environmentally-conscious. In general, I’d say this is decent hotel for a short stay, not good for anything longer than 2-3 days. It lacks amenities like slippers, robes, hamper, etc that would make a longer stay more comfortable. The room is oddly laid out with the shower being directly next to the bed. Random things like the makeup mirror being at shoulder height so you can’t use it standing or sitting and the desk jutting into the sink so you can’t get by if someone is sitting there shows a lack of thoughtful planning. Laundry service is expensive (3€ per pair of underwear) and the closest laundromat is a couple blocks away. Even in an upgraded room, there’s only one seat so it’s not a comfy space to lounge in. The gym is small and there was never any disinfectant spray (despite me notifying them of this) so the machines aren’t being cleaned after each use. The doors are not very soundproof so everything in the hallway sounds like it’s inside the room, which was especially evident when music randomly started playing over the speakers in the hallway on Saturday morning. The staff was decently friendly but overall we were just really unimpressed.

The reviews don’t lie, this is an absolutely wonderful hotel! Stayed one night in September 2023 and it was perfect. The rooms are beautiful, clean and contemporary. Pool deck is gorgeous and offers wonderful views of the city. All the staff were exceptionally friendly and professional. The location is central but a few blocks away from the most congested areas so nice and quiet at night. Couldn’t have been better. I highly recommend staying here!

It is the second time I've stayed at the hotel the last was 5 years ago. They have maintained a high quality of service and cleanliness. Well placed for getting around the city, comfortable beds with modern decor and layout it has everything that you need. I will definitely be returning on my next visit to Barcelona.

We stayed 5 nights in August 2023 and couldn’t have asked for a better hotel for our Barcelona city break. The service was excellent, the staff was happy to help and very friendly. The rooms are spacious, well maintained and quiet. Location is excellent. Will definitely stay here again when travelling to Barcelona! Highly recommended!

This is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. When you first come in, you will be received by a wonderful group of attentive staff who will make your check-in as smooth as possible. Rooms are immaculately clean, comfortable and the hotel has a minimalistic and stylish design. The view from the rooftop is very beautiful and the amenities are meticulously maintained. I will definitely stay here again in my next visit.

I visited Spain for my late honeymoon. It was great. I upgraded my room for my honeymoon and got champagne and chocolate. It was touching. There was my birthday on the itinerary, and I also received champagne and delicious dessert as a gift. I was touched by the kindness and the detail. It was the best hotel I wanted to visit again

Spacious functional well maintained modern room and hotel. The staff and the service are warm and outstanding. Room size, cleanliness, air-conditioning and amenities are outstanding and exceeded the 4-star hotel standard in the city. Room is fully soundproof. Internet connection is super-fast. Location is perfect, 2 blocks from the busy Passeig de Gracia. Will come back!

I've recently stayed at the hotel twice and loved my stay on both occasions. The hotel is in close proximity to all the main attractions and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. This hotel definitely will be my go to for all my future stays in Barcelona

We had a wonderful time staying at the hotel. The staff was very helpful. Room service was pretty fast. Having booked for only 4 nights we didn't have enough time to use the pool or the fitness center. All the cultural activities were nearby and easily reached by foot. Surprisingly we found ourselves on a street with all major world brands within minutes walk. I highly recommend this place for a short business trip or maybe a family with big children.

We had a wonderful experience while staying there for the past five days. The room is very comfortable and clean. The staff are helpful and friendly. The location is convenient. We would definitely stay there again.

The service given by the reception team was superb. We arrived at the hotel early and never the less were taken up to our rooms almost immediately. The rooms were of a good size and immaculately clean.

Everything in the hotel is so perfect!!!! Especially the staff in the hotel! Super nice, I left my bracelet in the hotel, they immediately found that and told me what to do next and they will help you with anything! One of the staff recommended us a restaurant that was sooooo good! All of my friends enjoyed the food there so much! Also the location is super good! Definitely come here next time!

Had a great 3 night stay here. The staff are second to none, gave us a room upgrade on arrival and a late checkout due to our late flight. Lots of nice touches you just don't get anymore at hotels, like some free drinks etc. Rafal and Pablo and all the staff at reception were fantastic, give them a raise. Believe the reviews and just book it.

The pool area was busy but still calm and relaxing, and the gym plenty adequate with a space for yoga as well. Location was brilliant, 5 mins to almost everything. Fantastic hotel with a fantastic staff! I turned 50 in Barcelona, staying at Olivia Balmes, and no one had told them about my birthday. Still, they had not one, but two surprises for me. I can only agree with most other reviewers: You almost feel royal the moment when you walk into the lobby.

Perfect from start to finish. This hotel is delightful. The staff are extremely friendly, attentive and helpful. The pool is gorgeous & the snacks/drinks are excellent. I can’t recommend this hotel enough & when we are back in Barcelona we will most definitely be staying here again!! Thank you :)

I would highly recommend this hotel. The location, staff, spaciousness of the rooms, service, basically everything. I was there alone for 5 nights and I was so satisfied. Dipping in the rooftop pool in the late afternoon to unwind before dinner was so great. I loved the sound proofing in the room. I couldn’t believe I was on such a busy street but could hear literally nothing at night. I can’t speak enough about how friendly and helpful everyone who works at this hotel is.

The only Hotel I will stay at in Barcelona! From the moment you enter, you're treated like royalty. Absolutely beautiful Hotel. Staff are exceptionally friendly, efficient and helpful. During check-in, Christophe at Concierge provided us with a map of the neighborhood and gave us advice on what to see and how to get around. Our room was clean, spacious and even had a drying rack, which we used for our swim suits, on the balcony. Couldn't hear anything once we were in there so could easily sleep on comfortable beds. The poolside views are breathtaking. If you look closely, you can see hills in the distance. Leon, Pool Bartender, is an absolute gem of a human and incredible asset to the Hotel!! He's charming, makes great drinks and works his behind off. I recommend a water station by the pool and since it gets quite busy up there, more staff - one person dedicated to making drinks another to run food, fold towels, clear the area of glasses and dishware. Children are allowed however; I truly feel this establishment should be 16+. Food is good but in the area you'll find a variety of bars, restaurants, shopping, even a Laundromat that are all walkable. At any one you'll find something you'll enjoy. Highly recommend and will 100% be back to visit very soon!

Wonderful, easy going service and hospitality. Every request was met with "of course, no problem". The staff was genuinely amicable, kind and helpful. The rooftop pool was calm and just right. The rooms were spotless, big, with a huge tub and luxuriously comfortable beds and linens. The vanity was large with a huge mirror, excellent lighting and complementary-everything you may require. The breakfast spreads were delicious, fresh and healthy. I hope we get to visit again very soon.

Fantastic hotel ,great staff and ideal location .Celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary whilst here and received a lovely bottle of cava sent to our room which was a nice surprise. Plenty of things to see and do in this great city , our 4 day visit didn’t seem long enough but we’ll be back to this wonderful hotel and city.

The reception team (pretty much everyone, but especially Lenin) were extremely helpful, attentive and courteous at all times, ensuring I had an excellent stay while in Barcelona. Also, the restaurant crew were amazing. The hotel is in an excellent location walking distance to the main attractions, restaurants and shopping, while still nestled in a location away from the too busy touristy areas. It's a modern boutique hotel that has that personable feel. The Premium room was nice & spacious, clean, modern, quiet, comfy bed, and had a nice view of the city. It was also great to have a rooftop pool and a gym at the hotel, for those who like to stay active. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel for those who want to stay in the centre of Barcelona.

I stayed for an extended period of time in October and can say, without hesitation, that it was essentially perfect. The staff were very friendly, competent and exemplified professionalism. The room was very clean and beautifully designed as well. I hope to stay here again during my next trip to Barcelona.

Had a beautiful stay for my hen weekend in the Olivia Balmes. The location is ideal for shopping, bars, restaurants - within walking distance (even in heels!), and the team were so fantastic that I will definitely be returning here on another visit to Barcelona!
